shalom4eva: Truly the GMD wanted to close out the EH recruitment but he said the ones interviewed don't have the experience that the contract staffs have and so they can't employ supposedly experienced hires and still be spending funds training them again.
I know a guy, we did interview together as experience hired, in fact, he provided in house training for the management of the NNPCL last week on oil and gas tax compliance. I also know a guy with Bsc Economics, MSc Energy Finance and chartered accountant as well with many other international certifications. Please, tell me what MKK is looking for? Many of those contract staff guys failed the test and could not proceed to the interview stage and some didn't even have the requirements to be selected for the test. We do compromise a lot in this part of the world, especially public sector and that is why we are crawling behind the world.
Ejiod: Just dropping this guide for anyone who want this path. 70% of what you need for data analytics is SQL! Infact pattern your SQL to postgreSQL. The rest can be other skills. For Data scientist you need python as you bread & tea. Doing data visualization is NOT data analytics!!
Meanwhile, you don't know the difference between data analytics and data science. Read about them and come back.

adeakin777: It's the last day of the mid-year, by all affirmations, the FCC clearance of 3 months expires today and yet this recruitment is still looking like a magic trick.
But in hindsight, I can say I understand this better. I have been in the private sector all my life, but in the past 8 months I underwent a Federal Government Agency Recruitment and these were my takeaways: *It is extremely difficult to complete an open public service recruitment by pleasing everybody, there is always a faction that will be dissatisfied and would want the whole process to be cancelled. *it is easier to complete a public service recruitment in secret; whether by merit or connections or both. Completion of the recruitment by connections is ubiquitous but the process I went through appeared to be through merit. However, the caliber of persons met on the day of documentation showed that it was ultimately a mixture of both merit and connections. *The North has a stronghold of the public service(I do not say this to start a tribal war, just stating the fact and FYI, I do have northern friends). This perhaps might be the reason NCDMB has refused to move its HQ to Abuja or Lagos, maybe, to reduce external influences. *FCC's involvement in public service recruitment may be doing more harm than good. The 10th best candidate in one state may miss out on appointment even if he performed better than the best performing from another state. *Lastly, the scrupulous and amorous politicians we have will continue lobbying for unqualified candidates into public service due to their selfish interests. Even D-list agencies or lower are bought, sold or lobbied for. To believe that this recruitment by NCDMB is not closely watched by these politicians will be a massive understatement.
In summary, I believe the trajectory of this recruitment will end in one of 2 outcomes; It is stalled to the closing embers to at least get a good number of candidates by merit into the organization OR it has been delayed for so long that so many stakeholders are dissatisfied and it will be out rightly cancelled(NCDMB were smart to remain anonymous throughout the recruitment thus far therefore an outright cancellation will have little or no ripple effect). In all, I do hope this recruitment journey transcends into something positive to some(if not all) of us.

AjayMain: Good day Sir, there's something I don't seem to understand, is it that taking action when you have been pushed to the wall is now a problem, is fear a reason not to take a good action, I read someone on this group saying, that, it will cause more harm than good, what's really the meaning of that, it has already caused harm for several people here, so what are we saying, every action must have either a negative or positive effect, remember that this administration is winding up, soon it wont be possible to continue this recruitment, lets take action and I am willing to be part of it, whether a letter to senate, board, etc. if you read the scriptures for example Esther 4:16, she needed to take a decision that may lead to her death, she said if I perish I perish, Paul same thing in Acts 21:13 etc. Even if our action will cause only one person to get the job amongst everyone on this group its okay, even if it will cause more hulks to attack the recruitment, even if none of us gets it, even if they deny it, it doesn't matter the outcome, we must begin to think about the future of this country and help bring change, I keep hearing federal ministry jobs this is how they do this, this is how they do that, if we continue saying this, they will never change, am planning on talking to the senator representing my zone, such that by law every recruitment must be completed between a stipulated time or cancelled, there should be noting like extension through FCC and everyone that applied must be notified of his/her status. lets remember they are the ones that need us, if they decide to get senators children we don't lose anything, they are the one at lost because we have the experience that would have helped them move forward, as far as there is life there is hope and in fact better hope than NCDMB.
All these actions are just wasting of time as far as this administration is concerned. They don't have conscience at all. We spent millions on NNPC EH to get feedback, we did many publications on widely read newspapers, they turned blind eyes to it. We took protest to Tower, no results, we bombarded them on Twitter, no result. What else!! This country is something else. Is better we use our energy for better things. When it is time, they will release it. I personally sent message to Engineer Simbi Wabote when he accepted my connection request on LinkedIn and ask for the status of the recruitment. Till today, Baba didn't respond. What I know is, what will be, will be. I wish us best of luck in our endeavors.
