Hmm. Though the money seems quite large, but there are two ways to look at it. You might want to say that the salaries of the DPR staff is on the high side for civil/public servant and the same goes for other high paying public institutions like NNPC, FIRS etc. But you also have to look at the practices of the industry under which the institution operates. The oil industry is known to have high salary benefits to its employees all over the world. So if DPR and similar government agencies decides to pay it's staff what non oil related industry are paying, it will not get required technical manpower to perform it's operations most especially in the top management level and it will generally have a high employee turnover as its staff will port to private oil companies that pays will at any given opputunity.

And the writer of this piece does not understand what upfront payment is. It's an accumulation of benefits that is given once a year and at the beginning of the year and it varies across the seniority level. So it doesn't mean that all the employee got similar upfront some might have gotten more while other got less than what was stated in the article above.

Well, thanks for sharing the info you got. It is absolutely disgusting to hear that they are doing a review of available positions. If it is true, then we have a long way to go as a people.
They advertised for vacancies, and millions applied, went for test and interview. Many travelled thousands of miles and only God knows how many people died along the road from accidents. They even reimbursed transport fares, some people got as much as 2 or 3 times. They paid extra allowances to panel members who conducted the interview, and spent heavily on logistics as well. We are talking of billions of naira spent in respect to EH alone. So are you telling us they did all these without knowing the vacancies to be filled?
If that is the case, then that is unprofessional. But I wish you are wrong.

It only fake believers that practices what you are doing. Go to the north, you wouldn't see any Hausa/Fulani moslem accepting easter or Christmas meat(food) from Christians.

You can also visit the former eastern region and check if you will find any indigenous Christian accepting food or meat from moslems during their festivals

Yorubas are our major problem in Nigeria as a nation. They don't know what is abomination is religion or politics. No different between Yoruba Moslems and Christians. They can freely share their place of worship with each other. The will eat anything eatable and married themselves regardless of what their religious holy book said. Yoruba attached no value to their religious belief but their personal comfort

How come we have less than 1,050 on those levels, care to explain? Based on that news, except the news is fake, forget any inference or deduction. It is cleared and simple, the news said as at April 2020, the corporation has reached its staff strength based on the figures provided and has also captured the new gts into the figures. Mind you, new gts will be placed on SS6. I still pray for EHs favor sha. Only God can make it happen for us.

Anytime we get positive news, it's like someone just needs to drop something to counter it. People who work in NNPC claim there is space, another who is an EH hopeful claims the Corporation is Overstaffed. We go dey alright las las.

The NNPC GMD mentioned in one of his recent interview that the Kaduna, PH and Warri refineries would be outsourced to private companies who would be in-charge of managing the refineries. They would be given mandates to return the refineries back to profitability within a specific time frame.

I suspect this must be one of the reasons why the support staff contracts are being terminated as NNPC would no longer be directly in-charge of managing the refineries. Moreso, it has been approved by the Honorable Minister of State for Petroleum. There is no reversal on this except the National Assembly wades in.


On the other hand, one of the major justification for this is that the three refineries have been loss making for a long time and at this period where oil revenue is highly constrained, there is no reason to continue to run a loss making refinery. They wont even be able to pay salaries in the long-term if current global (i.e. reduced oil price and COVID-19 pandemic issues) crises persists.

I would rather advice that the support staff find out who the new handlers are or would be and seek employment opportunities with them. Tho it may be easy to say but not as easy as it seems. In another scence, there are rumours that quite a number of GTs would be posted to the refineries under a different kind of arrangement with the new operators. However, the veracity of this info is yet to be ascertained.

Good morning guys ,what I heard from my source is that this pandemic situation even the NNPC staff don't know how their salaries will be paid ,Because they have a lot of vessels on the sea no buyers even d GTs where lucky because they have finish their documentation they might be affected too so that's why d EHs part was halted but not cancel for now ,Things must be back in track before they may consider us only God knows when .But the source said the management can decided to call us earlier sha d management has the final say .Thanks

I seriously doubt it will be canceled. PENGASSAN will not allow that. Don't forget they don't put such in offer letters. They are all embedded in the clause that says benefits are as stipulated in NNPC's condition of service.

There is no way that N1.5m quoted will be the only pay for GTs. NNPC is an oil company, not a ministry. Anyhow, the total package is competitive with other oil companies (bar IOCs and other top upstream independents).
