Everybody don turn to Dr. Love for Nairaland. I find the title of the thread rather suspicious. Why are you so concerned about your "Uncle"? I think the title of this thread should be changed to "Please I am confused and I need help". BTW, if its advice you are looking for, continue too play mugu until the chick eats you out of house and home. |
The more you see the less you understand. |
Looking for gold in Dubai is like looking for saltwater in the middle of the Atlantic, there's plenty to be had. Try the Gold Souq every cab driver can get you to the location. As for cheap hotels, you could see a number in the $70 range. Used to be one I remember in the old city but I've forgotten the name but you'll be sure to find many more. |
walks in to see if anything useful is going on, looks around and concludes that people on this thread are jobless and have nothing better to do, hisses and strolls out |
All these small children wey wan commit fornication by all means, listen to the man. Face your studies! |
Na wa for Nairaland o, people of the world are bad o, hmmmm, I rest my case. |
See Nigerian guys wey just dey here dey deceive themselves, 9 out of 10 Nigerian men will slap her back, me included. I'm no woman beater, but anything that gives a chick the guts to slap me, means I have to correct the impression with a slap that will requite her in double the measure of that given to me. Nonsense, how many of them saw their mothers slap their own fathers? Na me u wan take start. |
@malaysian Of course, there are a lot of rich Nigerians with a lot of money studying in Malaysia. Apparently the government here has left the universities to rot so most people seeking good education go to other countries to study and Malaysia offers cheap and quality education as well. Instead of repairing our universities so rich and poor students don't have to go abroad, our leaders are spending our money foolishly on strange projects. There are also poor Nigerians, who will do anything to go to any country in the world where there is a promise of a better life. If the government here was doing what they should have been doing, these Nigerians would be working here instead of causing a nuisance there. It's all the fault of the Nigerian government, so next time you see these Nigerians, you might want to excuse their behavior, some of them are forced to do what they do because in Nigeria you have to do whatever is necessary to survive and since our leaders are stealing money and being dishonest, some Nigerian citizens feel they ought to do the same and get away with it in other countries where they live. |
sheniqua:Cubans and Haitians were fleeing repression of various regimes. The Irish in America are largely there from centuries past, recent immigrants perhaps but not lining up at embassies such as you suggest. Russians in America yes, predominantly in New York and New Jersey, but in Moscow the queue at the American Embassy is incomparable to that of Walter Carrington. Nigerians are everywhere. Most people naturally gravitate towards America, the land of Hollywood, but most Nigerians would flee anywhere given the opportunity. I know of Nigerians who live in Cuba and consider it a prime place for education. I should know, my cousin lives in Cuba, he got his medical degree there and married a wife there. Free education with a lot of quality, I might add. There is no Islamic regime here, the military boys left a long while ago and even when they were around it wasn't as if we were another Burma, there was a free flow of business and business persons. What are Nigerians at those embassies fleeing from and where are they fleeing to? Don't we have the money? What need do we have to seek out expensive education and demeaning work opportunities in other countries? If people are fleeing Cuba from repressive regimes, what are we running from in our own country? Does Mexico, whose citizens are fleeing to the U.S, have the oil money we have? Venezuela should rank below us in the list of countries with oil wealth. Do you see their citizens on boats headed for Florida's shores? |
@malaysian If some Nigerians are making a mess of your country and stereotyping the few of us who are still trying to maintain our sanity and national pride, please take heart. We are not all bastards. You have made some glaring claims and while a couple do seem exaggerated, a number of these claims are rather reflective of the behavior exhibited by Nigerians who have been forced to seek success in other shores such as that of your country. Yes, Nigeria is a rich country, with a lot of poor people who have no other option but to seek educational and work opportunities elsewhere because our leaders have chosen to squander our huge oil wealth on French chateaus and Italian villas instead of developing their economy. If they had done what they were supposed to do, I doubt if their citizens would be in your country causing a nuisance. Perhaps you should engage in more stringent regulations, to make sure they are not allowed into the country. When we have no where else to turn to, perhaps we'll engage in the necessary work needed to develop our own country. |
This is why Femi Kuti sang his , "I sorry for Nigeria" song in South Africa and people were shouting the guy was an unpatriotic idiot. That's why they say we are the world's happiest people, we're living in denial. You only need to see the queues at Walter Carrington, Anifowoshe et al. to know that there is a big problem somewhere. |
Lagos is one filthy mess. Port Harcourt is no less a dump , so why should our citizens understand how to cherish the peace and solitude in another man's land? We know ourselves but we will keep masquerading behind the "there are bad eggs everywhere" excuses. i) Yes, NEPA doesn't provide electricity after all even in America, they have blackouts. ii) Politicians are looting the country blind. Why not? After all even in the United Kingdom, politicians are corrupt. , there are many other examples of such ignorant excuses, but we all know the truth. We tend to misbehave a little too much. I'm yet to see a situation in a foreign country where Nigerians do not announce themselves in the most arrogant of manners, a guest should not have the rights to. Nobody likes to see themselves and their countrymen portrayed in a bad light and it is only patriotic if we instinctively rush to their defense and the defense of the Green White Green, but when everyone starts complaining, we ought to check ourselves. |
sheniqua:Bad eggs usually reinforce stereotypes, you should know that. In Nigeria, the stereotype is Igbo men are conniving SOB's who will sell their mothers if it made them money, Yoruba people are noisy trumpets and Hausa folks are illiterates and dagger-wielding fanatics. You see these stereotypes on a daily basis on Nigerian television and played out in your neigbourhoods, why complain when we're busy reinforcing the stereotypes in faraway Malaysia? When we focus on developing our own economy and stop FedEx'ing our students to foreign shores to eke out a living, when we build a country that leverages what we have to the maximum, then the stereotypes will subside and we can embarrass ourselves here instead of doing it on the world stage. |
Nigerians and the speed with which they rush to defend themselves without ascertaining the veracity of the situation. Why is it mostly Nigerians people have a problem with when it comes to Africans in Diaspora? Even in Ghana next door has problems with us. Let us face the facts, we have serious issues and denying them is not the way to proceed. We had better focus on developing our own country and crowing like cocks here instead of making a nuisance in other peoples countries when we are guests in those countries. Wasn't it the same Malaysia some Nigerian students were rioting in the other day? Trust the Malaysian government to deport them sharp sharp. If we don't respect ourselves, don't expect the rest of the world to respect us. Yes, there are bad eggs everywhere but seem to make a habit of making the whole crate look like one spoiled batch of eggs. |
OsunAmazon:There are different rules for men than there are for women. Besides there is no such thing as an expired man ( except he's impotent), we don't expire until we die, ask Baba 70, his legend lives on. ![]() |
There's the marriage regime and the mistress regime, one has passed the other is available, why complain? |
Nothing is unbelievable , basically two reasons exist why most Nigerian women over 30 are unmarried and I take them from a poster who listed four reasons here: 1) Being Too Picky - Nigerian women set the rules of the game and Nigerian men only play to their tune. They first start off in their youth with being too picky and wanting the best. They want the most handsome, richest bloke on the corner with lots of attention to spare. Unfortunately they forget to factor in math, there are more women in Nigeria than there are men, the translation being that not every woman will end up getting married. Apart from the fact that guys are lesser than women, there are also very few rich and handsome guys. So these rich and handsome guys also want the best for themselves so they gather a string of concubines , playing them around and eventually marry the best of the lot. So what happens is that the remainder of these picky women who don't get married then, keep being picky waiting for the next Dangote or Femi Otedola to knock on their doors, unfortunately for them, some of them are not as hot as they imagine themselves to be and a couple more have the overt tendency to be really saucy in addition to their picky issues because they believe themselves to be on top of their game and God's own definition of beauty. The end result is that most toasters overlook them and go for less picky ones and when it dawns upon these women that darkness is upon them, they become desperate and end up marrying way beneath their class or not getting married at all. 2) Being Too Ugly - What more can I say? Ugliness defines itself. Why board molue when free air conditioned buses are on the road? |
It's not a stereotype, its a fact. Women over 30 are somewhere around their expiry date. Some people don't mind almost expired goods but then there are those who have a preference for such goods especially when they come in nice packaging. On the other hand, you can't blame mothers and sisters for looking at women over 30 with a rather suspicious eye, they know what they were doing before they turned 30, why would anyone want their son or sibling to handle goods that have been "tested" by other men. It's like the difference between getting a brand new car and a used one, the only time you ever prefer a used car over a new one is when it's a classic and trust me, not that many Nigerian women over 30 are classics, ![]() |
It isn't crap. It's true! |
See dead dead babes, dry dry fish for Nairaland wey dey beef better thing. The babe is older than the chap and they come from two different social classes fine, so if she like am nko na bad thing? No be like say she no get choice, fine babe like that for that matter. At least no be Nike Osinowo wey dey find other people dem husband. Na the guy toast am after all. At least she's independent and dating the guy on her own terms, not to mention making her own money, if he doesn't want to marry she surely won't kill herself over it, some Nigerian chicks here are holding their boyfriends to ransom because they don't want to get married now, una too do abeg, leave the fine babe and fine guy alone. All these hungry Nigerian girls are ready to sleep with the same chap they are calling ugly should he just snap his fingers, after all you are the ones screaming at the P2 Square shows and in their videos. I respect both of them for the courage to make their own decisions. Make una go find work abeg, bad belle people and gold diggers. |
Well don't get me wrong, I'm not the source of the information, the boys at SaharaReporters say that it is his number and so do the Human Rights Watch guys, I don't know whether its his or not but if they say so I figure at least the guy at the other end can get a message to him, |
