goldfish80: I bet your crossed eyes didn't capture the narrative of the lady who works at a weaving factory and stay with her sister in mile 2.With your brain the size of half a meat ball, Is Mile 2 a residential address? Motor-parks in Mile 2, I guess. |
Cooked-up Propaganda and Cocktail of lies. Over 3000 destitute were rehabilitated and repatriated to the North, others to South-Western states, and the first batch of 'deportees' to the South-East, none of them complained that inhuman or degrading treatment was meted out to them during their stay in the rehabilitation centers, and none was reported dead after their re-settlement. Some people are being disingenuous and mischievous. They all claim to be traders, yet none gave his or her residential address in Lagos. Okokomaiko and Mile 2 are no residential address(es). Under the bridge/motor parks/Road side is no home! There was a series of exchanges between Lagos State Government and Anambra State liason office, inviting them to come and interview the destitutes and carry out their own assessment, but they failed to show up. How many of these media houses and journalists have taken their time to visit and inspect the Training and Rehabilitation Centres, so as to have a first hand assessment and information on what goes on there? Their reports are based on hearsay. Bunch of lazy journalists. Lagos State Government is well aware that it will amount to an exercise in futility to attempt to 'Permanently Expel' anyone from the state due to the fact that there are no interstate borders, and that it would violate citizens right to freedom of movement. But since these destitutes are not willing to undergo intensive rehabilitation programs which will make them to be upstanding members of the community, and they have no families to reunite with them in Lagos. The best thing was to ship them down to the East, an all expense paid trip courtesy of LASG(lol). Goverment's resources are limited and not everyone is able to be helped. There are over a million Igbos in Lagos who go about their daily business(es) without any fear of intimidation or harassment. |
Yes-Sir-ism, praise-singing and an exaggerated sense of gratitude all over this thread. Its his choice if he decides to retain or discard the dead woods and symbols of corruption in his cabinet, he will be the one to give account of his stewardship either good or bad after 4 years and not his ministers. Tony Uranta, a close ally of Mr President; Jonathan's cabinet is made up of dead woods. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2013/04/jonathans-cabinet-made-up-of-dead-woods-uranta/ |
Dear Sir, while I acknowledge ur right to ur opinion, may I respectfully point out that no governor or president is immune frm civil prosecution. Immunity covers only criminal matters and does not cover the legal liabilities flowing frm their acts as governors or as private persons. If fashola wants to take our family land in d village as either fashola or as gov of lagos state, I hv d right to sue him either as a person or as d holder of an office so far as my reliefs ar all civil. So if he has published anytin infringing on d rights of apga, and if d courts see merit in d application, he can be made to pay. It isn't a criminal suit so immunity can't be invoked. There are so many cases against GEJ in FHC Bayelsa. Thats a verifiable fact
Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution, shields the President, Vice President, Governors and Deputy Governors from civil and criminal proceedings against their persons. They are immune from civil or criminal personal liability. |
figment232: U dnt seem to understand,d case was already in court.INEC acted in contempt of d court.Did the phantom APC secure a court order restraining INEC from registering the other APC? No. There could be many court cases, but until there is a court order, no one can preempt what a court will do and act on that basis. |
@Op, I guess Tinubu's accountant was in attendance or na Joe Igbokwe? I am sure your meeting was held in a beer parlor or paraga joint. ![]() |
igbobuigbo: I warned you that I would delete non-Anambra posters. Didn't I?This is not a Kwenu or Omanbala forum. ![]() |
You were in a meeting bla bla bla faceless goon forming relevance |
CFCfan: Tom Ikimi, Audu Ogbeh were former PDP members.the major promoters are Tinubu, Buhari, Shekarau. They are the real force behind the merger |
Maxymilliano: APGA is factionalized? Who else chaired the factions apart from Chief Umeh? There is a Maxi Okwu faction loyal to Peter Obi, the Umeh faction and a faction of the party loyal to the Governor of Imo State. The Umeh and Okwu factions were both at loggerheads for several months even after the court of appeal declared Umeh as the Chairman. This was 4 days ago; http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/07/28/enugu-apga-rejects-victor-umeh-heads-for-supreme-court/ The fence-mending moves started 2 days ago www.vanguardngr.com/2013/07/apga-crisis-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel/ As at the time the merger process was on, the party was heavily factionalized. |
Silly, Fashola is immune from civil and criminal prosecution. Is a faction of APGA not part of the merger? Dolts shouldn't only demand for N20billion, they should come and cart away the entire Lagos State treasury. As if the phantom APC has any worth. Did they secure a court injunction restraining INEC from registering the newly registered APC? They should blame themselves for their self-destructive errors, and stop trying to maintain its innocence in spite of the costly mistake of not fulfilling the registration requirements. |
mekaboy: Guy get some comprehensive skills, I am saying the two parties are identical, I see not challenge or difference APC is bringing on board. Same recycled PDP members under a different name, even shopping for alternative presidential candidate from the same PDP they plan to compete against. You are a load of Crap. Just admit that you've been owned. He(IBB) was talking about the political process and not the political actors. "Former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, has described the emergence of the All Progressive Congress(APC) as not only a welcome development but also a vindication of his strong belief in a two-party system as the ideal for the country." http://sunnewsonline.com/new/cover/apc-a-welcome-political-development-ibb/ The "Major Promoters" of APC were at no time in the PDP, and political parties cannot legally bar people from joining a party. Merchants of Doom, perpetual critic and beer parlor analyst who supposedly have the solution to all the problems bedevilling the country but would not present yourself for elective office but scorn at those interested. Hang in there waiting for an Elusive deliverer in the mold of the Biblical Moses, while demonizing the entire political process and participants as if there is any party in the world made of saints and perfectionists? Bring forward the so-called "Genuine Aspirants" or be condemned to eternal lamentations. |
pistol: The chicken has finally come home to roost. It was a fire outbreak, R€tard with such diminished capacity of comprehension. "Some witnesses are reporting that it is a 'fire' at the GTBank Building ..." |
Provie: Fashola has branded dem homeless & destitutes. Yet som of dem said b4 pressmen dat dey were arrested on their way home. Fashola has stirred d hornet's nest; & by d time dis Hurricane Fashola blows over, we shall all com 2 agree dat d terms "host" & "visitors" have lost their meanings in Lagos for one. Get it straight: the ground has been removd from under sombody's feet forever!Which home? Under-the-Bridge is home to some. How come none of them gave their home address in Lagos while speaking to the press men? You are not blaming your political leaders who rendered them destitute, and abdicated their responsibility to Fashola. There are many Igbos in Lagos who go about their daily business(es) without any fear of harassment or intimidation. |
^ Guy, get some education. "Vibrancy" in the sense that there will be two dominant political parties, as against a Single party system or Dominant-Party system. |
The key word is "May", as it is, PDP "May" also go into extinction considering the various crises engulfing the party. ![]() |
Sincere 9gerian: Maybe you expect to see Fashola's concentration camp on 3-D. Cant you read the testimonies of atleast 2 persons? Didn't you read the parts where it was stated that the deportees were to weak and malnourished to even get down from the vehicle that brought them from Lagos? What made them weak and malnourished? We were told these are beggars who were supposed to be roaming the streets. But how come they suddenly do not have energy to alight from a vehicle?Between 2007 and 20011, the state dispatched 3,029 persons, excluding 15 foreign beggars, from Lagos according to LASG records. In mid 2011, 196 beggars were repatriated to Sokoto State, 83 to Oyo State, 75 to Kano State, 67 to Osun State, 21 to Ekiti State, and 7 to Ondo State. How come none of those deportees complained of inhuman treatment meted out to them by LASG? Even the first batch of deportees that arrived in the East sometimes back, never complained of inhuman treatment. How come none of them(new set of deportees) was able to give their home address in Lagos? At least if they were falsely accused and not homeless, they would have stated their address(es) in their "testimonies". One can give a false testimony, especially a testimony coming from a displeased deportee who sees Lagos as the Promised Land. This is sheer blackmail. |
@Op, where is the concrete evidence? |
homesteady: Then for pete's sake, who runs into a presidential convoy??The vehicle colluded with a "Rider". Riders are always in front of the President's long motorcade, and most times part of the advanced team. The police would have emptied the roads of traffic, long before the President drifts by. |
^ Your comment is patently Asinine and Ridiculous. |

Admittance of complete ineptitude and nonchalancy. How many of them(top government officials) have kids schooling in public universities? If they were affected as parents, they would have reached a compromise with the stricking lecturers. |
akpanoka: I guess you have also forgotten that it is the party that has repositioned the aviation sector, improving power supply, given Nigerians a voice especially with the passage of the foi bill, resurrected the railways system, giving almajiri sense of belonging, reduced hunger as noted by the United Nation, superintended over an economy that has witnessed geometric growth, boost in agric sector and so on.Is this the best you could come up with, with the over $600billion in the past 14 years? Tangible and imaginary achievements? 23.9% unemployment rate in 2011, spiraling upward and growing at 16% per year , ranked 153 out of 186 countries in the UN Human Development Index(Poverty Index), External Debt of $6.67billion, Lending rate of 22% and above, ranked 139 out of 176 countries in TI's corruption perception index. A party that has spent over $16billion to generate less than 5000megawatts of epileptic electricity. Mismanaged over N2trillion on fuel subsidy. A rising domestic debt profile, import dependent economy, phenomenally-parlor state of infrastructure etc. We all can see how PDP's culture of waste and mediocrity has sustained a generation starved in the circle of poverty of hope, ideals and basic necessities of life. |
deeobserver209: Am not a party person but I would rather stick to PDP than all those noisy parties with no ideas.Ok. Welcome to the PDP, empty of political and economic ideas, and full of broken promises. A party that continues to subvert the destiny of a Nation that is ordained for greatness. |
You are welcome! Time to chase away some Chronic Maladroits. ![]() |
PDP finally succumbs after all the politics of maneuver, desperation, and corrupt strategies. ![]() |
Can APC bring change to Nigeria? NO They are basically a remix of the PDP.
You believe nothing good can come out of the PDP and APC, and yet, you fail to take steps to form a new platform. You want change so badly but the most you do to bring about the desired change is to become eternal opposition of both the status quo, and those who present themselves as alternatives. Join and/or support one of the two political parties to make the changes from within or be condemned to eternal lamentations. Your indifference is tantamount to encouraging all manners of usurpers and pretenders to navigate the ship of State. Those who are satisfied with PDP's 14 years of broken promises, bad governance and failed leadership should carry go! |
emeka762001: Whether APC or PDP, they are all the same people. Thieves.Isn't that why you should join a political party instead of abandoning your fate to thieves and charlatans? Merchants of doom who supposedly want the best but see only the worst in the entire political process. Keep waiting on that "Elusive/Near-Perfect Deliverer" in the mold of the Biblical Moses, or a Party made of Saints. You go grow Grey Air! |
A Victory for Democracy, an An Obituary to the Monopoly of the PDP! The registration of APC is not an end but the start of our fight to reclaim Nigeria from the throes of a one party state. |
Ada Nri1: All of them are the same. Just thieving politicians in different parties. Isn't that why you should join a political party instead of abandoning your fate to thieves and charlatans? Merchants of doom who supposedly want the best but see only the worst in every party. Keep waiting on that "Elusive/Near-Perfect Deliverer" in the mold of the biblical Moses, and a political Party made of Saints. You go grow grey air! |
