FFK is not the hungry politician people think he is, he has stolen enough to last a few generations. He simply needs to get the travel ban that still constrains him lifted
I'm pretty sure you are talking about Regents University alone?
Yes, my earlier remark was in relation to just Regent's University. Let me illustrate my point with a list of famous alumnus from the university.
Note: Most of the names you see on this list below are of foreigners who did not start their working life in British companies.
Javed Afridi (CEO of Haier Pakistan)[17] Param Singh (An Indian Well known Actor) Sultan Sooud Al-Qassemi (Emirati commentator on Arab affairs and also a member of the Sharjah ruling family)[citation needed] Anjum Anand (food writer and television chef)[3] Asif Aziz (London-based billionaire entrepreneur. Let me repeat; for Nigerians who plan to acquire working experience in British companies after graduation, Regent's university should be the last choice.
BigDawsNet: If you intend to stay after your degree
I believe it worth it ..
You can't expect to move to London to get a white collar job with Nigerian certificate
It's possible but you must be exceptional
Where a degree is considered a pre-requisite for employment, British companies are not going to hire a graduate from Regents University. This is an assertion you can take to the bank.
Thu Sep 02 2021 Sale Mamman, the erstwhile Minister of Power, courted many controversies shortly after he assumed office in August 2019.
First of such was the sacking of the former Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Mrs Damilola Ogunbiyi, over internal issues in December 2019.
More internal crisis continued among the power sector agencies culminating in the removal of the Managing Director of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Mr Usman Gur Mohammed in May 2020, a move that was frowned at by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha and generated ripples from labour unions in the power sector.
The erstwhile MD of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading PLC (NBET), Dr Marilyn Amobi, also had a headlong encounter with the former minister until she was removed in June 2020.
There was also the removal of Prof. James Momoh, Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), in November 2020 for attaining 70 years, earlier than his tenure ending 2022.
Another major crisis during the minister’s reign was the case of missing appointment letters for members of the board of TCN after their appointment in January 2021.
The appointed board members, it was learnt, were to be given their appointment letters from the SGF’s office before they could be inaugurated but sources said while the letters left the SGF office, the board members could not get the letters from the ministry till date.
Under the minister, although power system collapses reduced, there were cases of power tariff hike controversies forcing the government to dialogue with organised labour and consequently reversing the tariff hike in some instances.
Meanwhile, a statement from the ministry’s spokesman, Austin Asoluka, has said Abubakar Aliyu is the new Minister of Power. Engr Aliyu was the former Minister of State Works and Housing.
“His appointment was announced today, after the FEC meeting presided over by Mr President,” the statement noted.
Aliyu has been working with Babatunde Fashola, the current Works and Housing Minister.
Fashola had served as the Minister of Power, Works and Housing from November 2015 to May 2019, before splitting of the ministry after Buhari’s re-election.
FarahAideed: One thing is certain they couldn't have been sacked because of performance ...Only 3 things makes bUhari sack someone and that's criticizing his govt and being anti Jihad or going to pay homage to Osinbanjo
Sale Mamman was a showboater who should never have been appointed in the first place. Like Mohammed Nanono, it did not take him long to show his predilection for malfeasance in high office.
In what can best be described as brazen disregard for due process and competence and an unwarranted display of power and preeminence, Sale Mamman has personalized critical decisions within the Power Ministry and its Agencies, even to the detriment of the collective good of Nigerians, whose bidding he swore to do at his inauguration as Minister of the Federal Republic.
Sale Mamman’s decision to “indefinitely suspend” the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Damilola Ogunbiyi, which has since been reversed by the President, further lends credence to his high level shenaniganry. Damilola Ogunbiyi, from her time as Senior Special Adviser on Public Private Partnership (PPP) to the Lagos State Governor and then as General Manager of Lagos State Electricity Board to being appointed to oversee the REA, has displayed competence in her chosen career path in the energy sector, which gave rise to her appointment as Chief Executive of the United Nations’ Sustainable Energy for All.
Buhari should never have appointed a septuagenarian as the Minister of Agriculture in the first place. If it was not clear that nothing good was going to result from that boneheaded idea, Sabo Nanono promptly set the doubters straight by marrying an 18 year old! Imagine that Nairalanders? 74 year old papi shacked up with a younger, at a time when his primary focus should have been on an important sector of the economy.
Now to prove that there are no limits to his transgressive abilities, it was this same Kano-born Minister who approved the building of a N30 Million "Friday Mosque" with money sourced directly from the public treasury. Wetin concern agriculture with faith-based ministry huh?
This is a case of good riddance to rubbish in my view.
Leaked Memo: Nigeria’s agric ministry approves N30m for mosque construction
20 May 2021 The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has come under fire on social media following a leaked memo conveying the approval of N30m for the construction of a ‘Friday’ mosque with taxpayers’ funds.
The memo, dated December 10, 2020, with reference number FMA/PROC/AHS/SIP/2020/7742/1, stated that the Ministerial Tenders Board approved the contract.
Citizen Kunle Olawunmi is clearly well skilled in the dark arts of PSYOPs himself
Speaking with PRNigeria in the same vein, the Director Defence Information (DDI), Major General Benjamin Sawyerr confirmed that the informal invitation was harmless.
Sawyerr said: “As a result of the information coming from intelligence circle, an officer in DIA invited retired Commodore Olawunmi to come over so that he can help with information that can assist in the fight against insurgency and terrorism. The DIA officer asked him to come on Tuesday so that he can even meet with the Chief of Defence Intelligence (CDI), Major General Samuel Adebayo. That was all.
“There was no letter or any formal invitation. It was an informal phone call. He just switched off his phone and started calling some media houses that he had been declared wanted.
“You are aware that the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor has been going on tours of geopolitical zones to meet with retired military officers to come up with information and ideas on how to tackle the myriad of security challenges in the country
Military authorities in Abuja declared on Saturday that nobody is going to arrest a retired intelligence officer, Commodore Kunle Olawunmi over his allegations that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration is habouring Boko Haram terrorists as ministers and Aso Rock Villa aides.
This is just as the military said the senior officer was never declared wanted as no signal or letter was ever written showing the ex-intelligence officer being ordered to Abuja.
It was gathered, however, that based on Commodore Olawunmi’s disclosure that he has information about the activities of Boko Haram sponsors, who they are, and where they are currently, the authorities may have shown interest in wanting to get the names of these sponsors he talked about.
A senior officer said, “The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Lucky Irabor recently went to the South West Zone and interacted with retired senior Officers as part of efforts to join hands in tackling security challenges in the country. These are avenues where such issues would have been discussed. I am not too sure the retired officer was there to make his contribution.
“Why should he be declared wanted and you are asking him to report on Tuesday next week as claimed. It is just propaganda to achieve publicity and paint a particular picture.
“In military tradition, if the officer was to be arrested, there are procedure for that. We have military police for the Army, Naval Police for Navy, Air Police for Air Force and there should be proper documentation on why he is to be arrested. Can some one show us one.
Speaking on the issue, Director of Defence Information, Major General Benjamin Olufemi Sawyer said, “It’s a fake news released to portray the Military in a bad light.
“He was only invited by a concerned personnel who listened to him on Channels TV that if he knows so much then he can help provide information that would assist in the ongoing efforts to tackle the myriad of insecurity challenges.
“Warrant of Arrest are normally issued by Courts. If he is to be arrested then he won’t have been invited.
“It’s sad that Sahara Reporters is trying to twist the story.
“The retired senior officer is welcomed any day to share his information with the military.
“How can we be arresting retired military officers when we are asking them to support us in our task to deal with issues of insecurity?
Recall that Commodore Olawunmi had while reacting to the bandits attack on the Nigerian Defence Academy and killing of two officers and abduction of a Major, during a Channels TV programme condemned brazen development.
He had said, “It is an aberration; you don’t attack the Nigerian Defence Academy and get away with it. In 2017, I carried out an investigation by the Minister of Defence that wanted me to check what was going on with the training and the security there (NDA).
“I remember I spent about a week in the NDA with the commandant and the staff but something struck me: every Friday, the gate of NDA is thrown open and everybody has access to pray in the mosque.
“On Fridays, you are going to see the same thing happening across all military formations in the country. If you go to Defence Headquarters, I served at the Defence Headquarters as the Deputy Director, Defence Administration, between 2015 and 2017, throughout my two years at Defence Headquarters, I received visitors twice because of the strict security architecture there but every Friday, the gate of the Defence Headquarters is thrown wide open for everybody to come in and observe Juma’at.
“That is the time the terrorists have the time to profile our security environment. It has always been the case. I have served the military intelligence for the past 35 years. Our problem is religion and socio-cultural.”
Noting thatt he was a member of the Intelligence Brief at the Defence Headquarters during the leadership of former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonisakin (retd.), Olawunmi said he told the CDS that the centre of gravity of the Boko Haram insurgency ravaging the North-East and spreading to other parts of Nigeria was the sponsor.
“I told General Olonisakin then that the centre of this problem cannot be solved the same way we solved the problem of the Niger Delta. The Niger Delta problem was solved during (Ex-President Umaru) Yar’adua basically by me and I told them that we can’t use that same template for Boko Haram.
“I told General Olonisakin to look at the centre of gravity of the problem. I was made a member of the committee in 2016-2017 including former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru that died.
“I told them that the centre of gravity of Boko Haram in Nigeria is the sponsors of the programme. It was beyond us because the job we needed to do was kinetic but we cannot resolve the issues of sponsors of Boko Haram that were in Buhari’s government that we know them. That was why we couldn’t pursue that aspect that could have resolved the issue because we need to arrest people.
“Recently, 400 people were gathered as sponsors of Boko Haram, why is it that the Buhari government has refused to try them? Why can’t this government bring them to trial if not that they are partisan and part of the charade that is going on?
“You remember this Boko Haram issue started in 2012 and I was in the military intelligence at that time. We arrested those people. My organisation conducted interrogation and they (suspects) mentioned names.
“I can’t come on air and start mentioning names of people that are presently in government that I know that the boys that we arrested mentioned. Some of them are governors now, some of them are in the Senate, some of them are in Aso Rock.”

Ojady: Been in the States since Age 9, had the gun in Nigeria since 2012? Bro, the tale don't add up...Tbh his whole disposition about the gun ownership is shady asf. The mistake here is his not going to declare it or properly licenced with the NPF. Or to do it the Nigerian way, cozy up to any ranking Popo and he'd be duly advised - a couple of greased palms and he'd be good. Asides that, his mien is suggesting he had motives behind the gun ownership, otherwise what's the big deal, declare it's your own, ask to let them allow you provide your US licence to carry/concealed, ask them to take you to the Police Station and do the needful. His stuttering and uneasiness is giving him away...
His linkedin profile tells me he is a research associate and not a doctor. For this reason alone, I have to question everything else he said.
Lyddia: Mompha goes on Instagram live to mock hushpuppi. He said he brought hushpuppi from Malaysia to Dubai & he said hushpuppi was stubborn that's why he was arrested. Mompha also said he can't be arrested because he dined with the FBI last October.
Continue waxing lyrical, and soon enough Magu MKII would show you why his predecessor was retired to Benin Republic.
Where my popcorn at?
At the time of his arrest, Mr Mustapha, widely known as Mompha, had “51 bank accounts in Nigeria” and used them to buy “properties in Dubai and had laundered about N14 billion through a firm known as Ismalob Global Investments Limited,” Mr Magu said. “His accomplice, Koudeih, also has two firms namely: THK Services Limited and CHK properties Limited with which he has allegedly laundered about N19 billion.”
seunmsg: He’s a super cop with an excellent knowledge of Nigeria’s security architecture. He knows too much to be thrown under the bus. If we reverse the roles, America will never hand over such a citizen to another country.
Btw, he’s not the first person that America will request us to extradite. They requested for Kashamu Buruji and Allen Onyema in recent years and we did not hand them over to them. So, why should we compromise our national security by handing over Kyari simply because he collected bribe from another Nigerian fraudster? Will he even get a fair hearing in the US?
He should be dismissed and tried in Nigeria instead if internal investigation reveals that he’s guilty.
Incisive analysis @seunmsg. The USA did not hand over Mallam Dick Cheney for similar crimes 11 years ago, so Nigeria will not kowtow here.
Nigeria's anti-corruption agency on Tuesday charged former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney over a bribery scheme involving oil services firm Halliburton Co. during time he served as its top official, a spokesman said.
The charges stem from a case involving as much as $180 million allegedly paid in bribes to Nigerian officials, said Femi Babafemi, a spokesman for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
Halliburton and other firms allegedly paid the bribes to win a contract to build a $6 billion liquefied natural gas plant in Nigeria's oil-rich southern delta, he said.
Smart decision. Anything else, and Nigeria sinks lower among the comity of sane nations.
The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has recommended the “immediate suspension” of the Head of the Police Intelligence Response Team, DCP Abba Kyari, from the Nigeria Police Force.
The recommendation states that DCP Kyari’s suspension will be on pending the outcome of an ongoing internal investigations into his indictment for alleged involvement in a $1.1m internet fraud by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Kyari clearly ain't going down with a fight. The last hurrah of Nigeria's finest.
There was a stormy meeting on Friday at the Inspector-General of Police’s office between the IGP and police authorities and the FBI agents. Kyari on his part is threatening that many senior officers benefited from his ‘generosity’ and if he’s betrayed, he would expose them.
“He’s now got a team of lawyers. Abba Kyari is still being assured by the police hierarchy that he would not be extradited to the US. He has warned that if he is extradited, the current and past IGPs and members of the political elites he provided support for and assisted for dirty jobs will all be exposed," a top source told SaharaReporters.
socialmediaman: Of course we know they haven’t seen the report, they are not expecting it, and they will never see it, just like they never saw the bullion vans at bourdillon
The despot in Aso rock will also not release him. He knows too much, and nothing will happen to him after all Pantami is still very much in active service despite what he has said or done
The IGP had better start moving, as there is no time like the present. The commentariat is watching, and there is no hiding place this time around.
One of the competent sources said, “The FBI detectives left when he (IGP) went for Friday Juma’at prayers. The FBI personnel were insistent and had a long meeting with the IGP till the close of work.
“Abba Kyari was given till next week to respond to allegations. The IGP agrees with them (FBI men) and assured that Kyari would not be assigned any new cases until the investigation was over.”
Another source added, “During the meeting, the FBI insisted that IG must issue a statement confirming that Abba Kyari had been indicted because of his earlier Facebook posting mocking the FBI investigation.
Hushpuppi’s saga: No formal report on Abba Kyari with us, says PSC
There is no formal report on Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari over his alleged involvement in Ramon Olorunwa Abbas aka Hushpuppi fraud case with the Police Service Commission (PSC), it was learnt on Saturday.
The Commissioner in charge of Media on the board of the Police Service Commission, Mr. Austin Braimoh disclosed this to our correspondent.
The United States Department of Justice had said ongoing investigations showed that Hushpuppi allegedly bribed Kyari to arrest one Kelly Chibuzo Vincent, one of his accomplices in Nigeria.
According to a court document released by the United States Department of Justice on Wednesday, titled: ‘Six Indicted in International Scheme to Defraud Qatari School Founder and then Launder over $1 Million in Illicit Proceeds’, Kyari was alleged to have been bribed to arrest one Kelly Chibuzor Vincent, 40, in Nigeria, who created bogus documents and arranged for the creation of a fake bank website and phone banking line to support the defrauding of a business person trying to provide $1.1m for.
Kyari denied the allegations, stating that he did not demand any money from Hushpuppi,
The Commander of the IGP Intelligence Response and Monitoring Team said he never demanded a dime from Hushpuppi, admitting his focus was to save people’s lives that were purported to have been threatened.
The report prompted the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to order a review of the information on Kyari.
Braimoh, while reacting to the development told our correspondent the PSC would not be bound by the IG’s review of the allegations against Kyari, noting the commission has no position on the allegation for now.
He added that a formal report must come from the appropriate quarters to the commissioner before anything is done.
He said the Attorney General and Minister of Justice need to guide the nation on what to do on the matter.
His words: “The PSC has no position on the allegations against DCP Abba Kyari for now.
This is because no formal report is before the Commission on the officer. All we presently hear are mare allegations from media outlets. No constitutional body works with such.
“A formal report must come to the Commission from somewhere or someone. Besides, we heard that a United States Court either indicted or ordered his arrest. It sounds strange to me that a US court could order the arrest of a noncitizen, a Nigerian citizen resident in Nigeria. Nigeria is a sovereign nation with it’s laws and justice systems. We surely must be guided by our own attorney general.
“And also guided by our own courts, internal investigations and to trust our justice system. I’m not aware of any petition against the said officer before the police Service Commission. If the IGP has one, we believe that he will do justice to it and forward to us for necessary action at the appropriate stage”.

Abba Kyari should travel to U.S. if he’s sure of his tailor defence: Falana
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has challenged Nigeria’s deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the District Court in the United States if he is not guilty
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has challenged Nigeria’s deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the District Court in the United States if he is not guilty of allegations against him.
Mr Kyari had denied any wrongdoing after Peoples Gazette on Thursday broke the news of his embroiling with Nigerian Internet fraudster Ramon Abass known as Hushpuppi, in a multimillion-dollar fraud.
Court documents revealed an order to arrest and detain Mr Kyari after Mr Abbas pleaded guilty to large-scale cyber fraud in the U.S. recently. The documents also exposed how Mr Abbas bribed Mr Kyari to arrest one of his gang members following a dispute presumably over the proceeds of crime. The police officer arrested and detained the gang member.
Claiming no wrongdoing, Mr Kyari, in a statement on Facebook, narrated how Mr Abbas called him two years ago to complain about a person threatening to kill his family.
He said the suspect was released after discovering there was no threat to anyone’s life, “and they are longtime friends who have money issues between them.
“Nobody demanded a kobo from Abbas Hushpuppi,” claiming that he only introduced Mr Abbas, who paid N300,000 to his cloth vendor.
“Later, he saw some of my native clothes and caps on my social media page, and he said he likes them, and he was connected to the person selling the clothes, and he sent about N300k directly to the person’s account,” added Mr Kyari. “The native clothes and caps (five sets) were brought to our office, and He sent somebody to collect them in our office.”
Reacting to Mr Kyari’s claims, Mr Falana said, “The United States and Nigeria have an extradition treaty which covers the offences allegedly committed by CP Abba Kyari.”
“If the police officer insists on his innocence, he may want to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the district court in the United States. Once the request is received by the federal government, the attorney general will commence extradition proceedings in the federal high court.”
Additional details in the indictment file contained how Mr Kyari left his job as a police officer and travelled to Dubai to enjoy a good time with Mr Abbas, who lived at Palazzo Versace in the Emirati commercial capital.
In a saner clime, the Police PRO would have responded to the rather weighty allegations leveled against the nation's super cop. Not in Nigeria, though, not in this nation that is widely seen as the poster child for stunted growth
It is clear to me that Kyari did not read the 69 page document compiled on behalf of the UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT for the Central District of California (2:21-mj-00760-DUTY), before rushing to FaceBook in order to post his woolly response. Had he done so, he might have left this one to a spinmeister capable of dressing mutton up as lamb
