Deolu_1993: Hey guys i wanted to find out if it is possible for someone to use an account previously used by another person as an evidence for money available (28 day ish) after that person has used it.thanksIt isn't advisable. It means the same sponsor with that account is sponsoring someone else again after a short period. If I'm not mistaken, there should be a place in the form where they ask if that person has sponsored someone else within a certain period. Would you answer yes to that question and indicate when? |
While Emirates may be cheaper, you need to be aware that the caveat is in the baggage allowance. You are only allowed maximum of 30kg and that is one bag. If your flight is not one way to London, you will probably need more baggage allowance than that on your return trip and according to their website, excess baggage allowance is "Price per kilogram: USD 60 (plus applicable taxes)". Check this at http://www.emirates.com/english/plan_book/essential_information/baggages/baggage_calculator.aspx |
Wonders shall never end! Our naija crew are at it again! I felt kind of ashamed on my way to work on the train into London this morning on realising that the headline that everyone was reading on the free morning metro paper titled "Gang ‘lured jobseekers with fake Harrods adverts as part of £1million scam’" had to do with Nigerians. Imagine that all across the UK, people read this paper in the morning. Our people never seem to stop disgracing us. Whenever one reads such headlines in metro, evening standard or other papers, it is highly likely that Nigerians are involved. Its like a regular thing now as close colleagues joke about such news with me and say that our boys are at it again. How much more can our image be dented? http://metro.co.uk/2013/09/11/gang-lured-jobseekers-with-fake-harrods-adverts-as-part-of-1million-scam-3959939/ |
MrsBee: Hello House,I sympathise with you on this but I really can't see them changing their decision. I understand how money can genuinely come into one's account as is typical with us in Nigeria, but money lodged in an account to the extent done in this case is not acceptable to ECOs. There was no explanation as to how this funds came to be lodged in the account even when there are possibly two places that can address it 1). The section where they asked if you do receive income from any other sources, and 2) The section where they provided a blank space to add any other information. As to your 500k, while it is an investment account in your name, it doesn't really show readily available funds like a regular bank account will show. Some investments cannot be cashed until certain periods, so not readily available for you to use on holiday or at short notice. In any case, the doubt on your spouses finances may have added to them disregarding your investment statement. You both have good jobs it seems and those were not in doubt by the ECO. They couldn't have not given your husband visa and then give you visa as you were associated with him and dependent on him providing you with funds. You may just need to start afresh and maintain a "decent" bank statement and reapply in future. If you can travel somewhere else before trying the UK again, then the better. I know someone who was given visa recently at the third time after two separate refusals not related to finances which occurred far apart in the last 6 years. The person did travel elsewhere after the second refusal. |
If you have taken marmalade, then you have already eaten the skin of orange as it is included in the recipe. |
If I may ask...how is this really a deportation? They can simply get on a bus and will be back in Lagos the next day! After all, they don't screen people who go to Lagos nor is any Nigerian required to have visa to enter Lagos. |
Skoda is owned by Volkswagen group so I would expect their cars to be of good quality (especially the more recent models). |
Syenite:Namibia isn't an undeveloped country, so the OP has identified a good place to move to. Namibia is a peaceful and unspoiled country to be in and is not as well know as South Africa. However, at this stage, you can't convince the OP to remain in Nigeria if he has gone to the extent of identifying Namibia as a place to go. I blame those who govern us for all this. We should have people from other countries wanting to come to Nigeria and not vice versa. |
RedBenson: B4 nko? Who 1ted 2 even thank u. Indeed u r still a learner. I said 'every' but u corrected me wit 'nooks'. Is that how ur "eng'r'ish" teacher taught u?Very hilarious. ![]() |
Just sent my contribution via paypal with a message. Wish her good luck. |
Gee2728: bro how do u cope with ur maintenance, have been thinking about a diesel addition to my lot lately. Anything to be particular abt the service and what to look out for when buying? And hope the dnt sound like those tractors of b4, jst joking.Maintenance is not a problem here as I'm on a service contract with Mercedes. I pay them £26 every month and they just call me when they determine that service is due which is usually once a year and they take care of it. I drop off the car, they take me home and pick me up later to collect the car serviced and washed or they can come and collect and drop it off when service is finished. All stress removed from me and that's really good. The sound is a bit more than petrol but the latest diesel cars seem to sound less noisy. |
au.hanson:Its a 2012 Mercedes C class sports Diesel - C220 CDI Blue Efficiency. I get an average of about 55mpg on motorways and between 30 to 45 in urban areas, so its quite economical. |

Blessing Okagbare just won the 100m IAAF diamond league in London in 10.79 secs, beating world class athletes. It is a new African record. Congrats to Blessing. |
The guy has levitated beside the Cristo Redento, the Christ Statue in Rio de Janeiro in full view of tourists. he has also walked on the sides of a tall building in Los angeles starting from the top. |
I'm aware that Medical colleges in Nigeria don't give GPAs to graduating students, but that doesn't mean that people should just assume its the same for medical graduates of other countries especially ones that they know little about. In this day and age, it is easy to find out information with some research on the internet. I haven't seen a site that clearly lists the grades for medicine, but from numerous sites I have seen including ones that talk about medicine, it seems to point out that Russia has a 5 Grade system for most courses in universities. The guy could have graduated with a 5 which means Excellent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_grading_in_Russia http://www.medwonders.com/medblogs/general/why-students-love-to-study-medicine-in-russia--3758.htm |
What about Nick Clegg? Where is his picture? Just got my voters card delivered today. |
It is such a huge shame that we are in a disgraceful situation as this. It just seems like we are so different in the way we do things and belong to another planet. Can anyone (be it in the private or public sector) just leave ones job to go for medical treatment and not handover or obtain sick leave permission? Your job will not just stay there waiting for you as you will simply be replaced! Yet, those visionless people in positions of authority have refused to exercise their authority and have been continuing to mortgage the future of people in the country. |
tpia.:Exactly what happened to me this evening! Luckily, it occured when I stepped on the brake just before a roundabout. Managed to get the snow off using my wipers as it had scattered all over my windshield, bonnet, and on the road. It was about 7 inches on my car roof. I had nearly run out of groceries and had to go to the store to get some. |
Barbados Visa requirements: http://www.foreign.gov.bb/UserFiles/File/VISA%20info2.pdf http://www.foreign.gov.bb/pageselect.cfm http://www.barbados.org/docs_requirements.htm Summary is that you do not need a visa. Dominican republic: http://www.dominicanembassy.org.uk/Touristcard.html Basically, if you live in Nigeria and hold a valid visa for the United Kingdom, United States, Canada or Schengen countries, then you can visit without a visa. If you live in the UK, then you don't need a visa. |
Been to KL, Cyberjaya and Putrajaya. Very lovely places. KL has got underground train in addition to the monorail and surface train. Food, transport and hotels are relatively cheap, but hustlers or potential "footballers" have no place there so beware. You either go there for studies or on professional assignment. |
Is it possible that this guy never heard details of the first incident and did not know that Toilet was involved? |
shesi:When fellow passengers see you in the flight, how do they know your nationality? They will simply treat you as black. Spend time now in any toilet on an international flight (not originating from or destined to Nigeria) and see what will happen to you! |
Epiphany:Exactly! It is likely profiling and the way the guy may have handled the incident when confronted. |
SEFAGO:Who says the flight was to Nigeria? |
Sunny_bobo:It sure is a fallout. A black guy spending time in an airline toilet is now an issue. |
CNN is yet to give details and Associated Press is reporting sketch details. |
I recently developed lactose intolerance here in the UK. It was hardly the case when I was living in Nigeria. Now, I don't take milk, ice cream, cake, yoghurt, e.t.c! |
I have given up joining the usual debate between Naija residents and "Diasporans". Its the same old story line about diasporans: We "Diasporans" have never or hardly ever lived in Nigeria, We don't know what is happening in Nigeria, We don't visit home, We all do odd jobs and even if we manage to work in a corporate organisation, we are low level workers Those of us who lived in Nigeria before moving overseas were "peasants", hence we are excited about the so called "good" things here, We never see anything good about Nigeria, We all live in scummy areas Our mates in Nigeria have all left us behind in various aspects of life, We can't afford to visit home, et.c, Anyone got more to add? |
This is total rubbish! The Government officials should be focused on turning our nation into a developed country, so that its citizens will not require visa to travel to many countries (SA inclusive). Rather, they are negotiating easy passage for them to visit SA and also continue to hide their loot there. Visionless people! |
