I think it's a symbolic admission - come on, the girl attempted only A level maths and got into uni, impossible!I guess it's simply a way of recognising her brilliance .
She's probably not going to get a real degree but be made to attempt some degree level mathematics.
That's why her admission was limited to an open university.
Open university in the UK is recognised and the reason for her choosing OU is so that she can study at home. If she succeeds in her plan, she will surpass the record of the guy in the links below.

100Cents:
Let me explain growth and rate to you.

Using a 5 year old kid, what is his growth in height like ?

For a 10 year old kid, what is his growth in height like ?

For a 25 year old man what is his growth in height like ?

Nigeria and those other listed economies are growing at a fast pace like 5 year and 10 year old kids because they haven't attained full capacity. Yes, and a large portion of their masses still experience hunger and lack of infrastructure and basic amenities.

But for a developed ( fully grown ) economy like United states, they can be likened to that 25 year old man that has attained his full growth capacity in height, by the time he is 26 or 27, he doesn't add any significant height again, but his citizens are enjoying. Economies like US and UK grow annually at figures like 2%.

Do you need further explanation on this ?
Thanks but I don't need your explanation because I understand all that.

So can you tell me what year our citizens will start enjoying life as others if we continue to grow at 7% every year?

But the General is only hammering on "kwarrapshun" as the sole aim to battling...

So, if a minister does well, commend the minister. If otherwise, condemn the president?? .. go check your temperature.
Corruption is the bane of our society and you should know that. Why have an EFCC and waste public funds if it is doing nothing? I don't care whether Buhari calls it corruption or kwarrapshun, i only care about whether an individual is willing to stamp it out. He ruled this country for a period in 1984 and 1985 and should know what needs to change, even if there were many controversies surrounding his rule. It will take someone with guts to change this country. What do you expect in a country where many people only care about their selfish interest. If corruption continues and oil prices stay low, life is only going to get worse for the average man as there will now be so little left to develop the country after those in power have finished stealing budget funds.

If a minister does well, commend the minister and then say the Government of XYZ is doing well in the particular area. Doing well in one or a few areas of the economy is hardly enough. If you do well in 4 subjects of 8 in final exams in secondary school, would that get you into a University?

On a general note, its high time we all started looking at who can get us out of the perpetual mess we have been in and get our economy moving properly and not on paper. We need to get beyond tribal, religious, language, regional and other sentiments in other to move forward.

Who appointed the man and oversees his performance?. If buhari is such an anti-corruption genius, he should handle the reins of EFCC.. If his over bloated ego would let him
GEJ appointed him but I don't know about overseeing his performance. In a regular job, you do reviews with your boss and he or she suggests things to do to improve your performance or your work output, but I doubt if that is happening in this case. Having only one good egg in a pack full of rotten eggs is hardly anything to write home about! If you think handling the reins of EFCC is how to solve Nigeria's problem, then you must be in another planet.

What has this growth rate got to do with the lives of everyday citizens? Citizens in many Countries that have growth rate of 1% and 2% live far better than those with higher statistics. Yes, there are improvements in Agriculture and for farmers but that's because of the vision of one man - The Agric minister. If only all the others were like him!

TravelIllegal Immigrant Working At Westminster 'used Fake Passport' by Tats(op): 12:32am On Jan 22, 2015
Court hears Adeyemi Zubairu, 37, worked at the Dispatch Box Café but used a fake Swedish passport to get the job

An illegal immigrant has appeared in court accused of using a forged passport to work in a House of Commons cafe.
Adeyemi Zubairu, 37, had been working in the Palace of Westminster as a casual member of the catering team, it was claimed.
The court heard the woman, believed to be from Sierra Leone, had overstayed her visitor's visa and had been supplied by an external recruitment agency.
She worked at the Dispatch Box Café but Palace of Westminster security allegedly found she had a doctored id document.
Her role in catering would have given her access to senior ministers and MPs.

She was arrested on January 2 of this year and appeared before Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court for the first time accused of having a fake identity document.
Zubairu, of Camberwell, will next appear at Southwark Crown Court, for a preliminary hearing on February 3.
Her husband and one friend sat in the public gallery for the brief hearing.

TravelRe: Born In UK But Living In Nigeria by Tats(m): 12:08pm On Jan 09, 2015
The OP has said that his parents were not citizens but has not given any information of what his parents were doing in the UK at the time of his birth. Note that their status at that time doesn't matter.

The OP has also not stated:
- How long he and his parents lived in the UK after his Birth
- When he or his parents returned to Nigeria and what documents they used to return.
- if his parents still have records of their stay in the UK (including passports)
- Any pictures of their stay in the UK

Without all this information, I don't know how you can progress on this issue.

TravelTravelling Under The English Channel With A Car In A Train by Tats(op): 12:20pm On Nov 21, 2014
Ever thought of what it is like to travel inside a train with your car and the train goes under the water crossing from one country to another? Well, I'm talking about Euro Tunnel's Le Shuttle which goes between the UK and France under the English channel. I had the pleasure of crossing the channel with Le shuttle in October and enjoyed the 35 min trip. I had previously crossed the channel to France from the UK but went with my car in a ferry, so that was a different experience. Some of the pics of the return trip from France below have been impacted by motion so not very clear. Let me add that the train also carries fully loaded trailers and containers.

The process from Folkestone in the UK is as follows, you book online and provide your car details, you turn up at the gate before your scheduled departure, your car is automatically recognised by the plates and you are given a paper with an alphabet which indicates the group you belong to which will enter a particular train. You park your car in the waiting area and can go into a building where you can shop or buy forex. There are large electronic boards inside the shopping area and outside. When your alphabet shows up as ready to board, you get into your car and head towards the train in a queue, drive through french immigration where they may or may not check passports and then drive towards the train. When you get into the train, compartments are formed of about 4 cars and then sealed, but the seals have doors where you can walk through. I guess the compartments are to prevent rare occurrences like fire from spreading fast. the train is air-conditioned and the journey takes 35 minutes under the water. You arrive in Calais France and just drive out straight onto the french Autoroute (motorway) and voila! you are in France. On return, its pretty much same process but this time, the UK immigration are in France and carefully scrutinising passports. When train arrives Folkestone, you just drive out onto the Motorway!

Music/RadioRe: 2face's "The Ascension" Is Currently The 12th Top Selling Album In The World by Tats(m): 3:15am On Aug 02, 2014
pappilo: This topic is misleading

12th top selling album in the WORLD is completely different from 12th top selling WORLD music album.
World music is one category of very many such as country, jazz, gospel e.t.c.
Infact on the Billboard album charts page, world music is the last in a long list.
I'm happy for his achievement to be on iTunes world music category, but not to spoil the joy any further, there is a uk based Nigerian artiste called ibibio sound machine that rose up to number 10 or less in that category but has now dropped to no 36 just like tuface has dropped to 14 in that music category. I know this for a fact as I buy lots of music from world category......and before anyone starts saying anything, I'm not ibibio, not from that area at all and do not know this artiste!
SportsRe: Mikel To Stay On At Chelsea To Bag British Passport by Tats(m): 12:41am On Jul 30, 2014
NaLaugh: Totally False.

Regardless of your financial status YOU CAN NOT go "anywhere" worth going without procuring a visa on a Nigerian passport through an application process. This requires time (however little that might be). Time is a very expensive luxury.

This is a major hindrance in mobility which could sabotage major moves (business etc).

I have both a U.S and Nigerian passport, and the advantage can not be overemphasized.
I live 5 minutes from an International airport, and can get up right now, go to the airport, buy a ticket and head to my choice from over 160 countries with just my passport (at worst, a Visa stamp issued on arrival at destination).

When you're a Mikel Obi, you travel a lot, and any removal of unnecessary restrictions to your movement is a major perk.

It is about world accessibility.
Really could not have said it any better!

SportsRe: Mikel To Stay On At Chelsea To Bag British Passport by Tats(m): 12:20am On Jul 30, 2014
Many of you don't realise how easy it will be for him to travel when he gets a British passport. If he and his mates are going for friendlies, tours, games, etc in other countries, his Naija passport will need to first go to several embassies for days to get visas whereas his mates would only need tickets and off they go.

Having obtained Indefinite Leave to remain ILR in Britain based on minimum 5yrs work permit with Chelsea, his application for passport no longer depends on Chelsea, but on him physically spending minimum of 9 months up to 1 year in the uk after ILR then he qualifies to naturalise as a British citizen and then get a passport. I suppose he wants to spend this time in the UK just to get the passport and be done with and get easy access to travelling.

I doubt if all these support are not in themselves fuelled by corruption of the protesters rather than their genuine love for the officials or people involved. I think we are still a very long way in seeing light at the end of the tunnel!

juman: Dead country.

One nigeria is the problem.

There is no sense in one nigeria.
So how many parts do you think Nigeria will become if it doesn't remain one? Do you realise that even in a state, different tribes do not agree with each other? I can't even think of what will result out of a break up. There are countries with different tribes and religions, yet they live in peace.
