Christianity EtcRe: How Has The Different Versions Of The Bible Affected You & Christianity by Techwriter: 2:24pm On Oct 21, 2012
I don't believe a true christian should insult someone. Not even in Nairaland. Jesus said if u call your brother a fool u are in danger of Hell fire Matt 5. Please let's be civil in our approach; we are not Muslims
PoliticsRe: Please, Let Us Forgive Chinua Achebe by Techwriter: 12:53am On Oct 21, 2012
@OP, I think you just spoke the mind of millions of elitist progressive Igbos. Professor Achebe, who I respect very well has lived abroad for a long time and is noy in touch with the realities of the present Nigeria. Many of my cousins born and bred up in Lagos do not even know the East-West dichotomy. They are Igbos but can't even speak it. Achebe is living with wounds sustained during the war and only igbos with a myopic view would support such ethnic superiority in a 21st Century world

But please don't insult him. He may have lost a lot of kinsmen during the war and still unable to outlive the gruesome experience.

SportsHow Much Of Professional Wrestling Do You Believe by Techwriter(op): 1:42pm On Oct 20, 2012
Some belief most of what is done on wrestling is not real. Others believe it is pre-staged and the rest. They make us believe they are professionally trained and that we should never try what they do. But is it true. Anything we don't know? Anything mystical?
PoliticsRe: Okonjo-Iweala On Forbes List Of Most Powerful Women Of 2012 (pix) by Techwriter:
I will never forget her statement when she lost the World Bank presidency bid
"Even though I didn't win, I am glad that the international community can acknowledge that an African qualified for a position of such repute on merit"

This takes me back to the words of Jesus Christ,
"Only in his hometown, among his relatives and in his own house is a prophet without honor." Mark 6:4
The same Okonjo that some Nigerians would rather hang for her supposed role in the fuel subsidy saga is gathering international accolades and recognitions while the critics are decreasing by the day.
This also collaborates the Words of the Master in Matt 5:11,
"Blessed are you when men shall hate you and revile you, accuse u falsely and say all manner of evil against you..."
Wise people use the stones cast by their enemies at them to build a castle.
EntertainmentRe: [joke Of The Day] Nigerians Write Telecommunication Companies Over Poor Services by Techwriter:
Please forward to the NCC official mail. It used to be said that when two elephants fight the grasses suffer, the battle of supremacy between the networks to enlist more people into their fold is sickening to Nigerians- unsolicited sms, crazy bogus offers, etc.

They lost a major principle taught by Jesus Christ called SERVICE. According to The Master,
"he that will be greatest among you, let him serve"
This advice came thousands of years before the "customer service" mantra dominated the corporate world. Our telecom companies should Learn from Japan who consistently produced durable products that over the years made them global leaders of manufactured goods.

Any network that will consistently render superior services to their subscribers will eventually take the market. No spam sms or outrageous offers can do that magic.
Music/RadioRe: Flavour To Open Nite Club In Enugu by Techwriter: 3:11pm On Oct 19, 2012
Richfella: Very moronic post. Must everything be judged in terms of religion? Does New York or London have more churches than Bars & Night Clubs? Is Nigeria IN ANY WAY better than these places?

What makes a night club 'bad' in your ret@rded opinion?
I am not one of those that come to Nairaland to insult people. I believe that is a clear sign of immaturity. But the places u mentioned in UK and US are products of the influence of Christianity in those areas. Great Britain achieved their glory when they evangelised the world with the Gospel. I rest my case

Music/RadioRe: Flavour To Open Nite Club In Enugu by Techwriter:
When Nite Clubs increase the world commends
When Churches proliferate the world condemns

That a man lavished on vanity is celebrated
But paying his tithe is often castigated

Ever wondered what Nigeria would be
If the number of clubs exceeds the number of churches
Christianity EtcRe: The First Question You Will Ask God In Heaven? by Techwriter:
I would rather start with thanks giving that I made it. Why wouldn't I? When I see how most Nairalanders that claim to be atheists reason, I have a cause to thank God for killing all my doubts in the first place and allowing me to enjoy Him beyond the storms of passion/unbelief.

I believe the answers to most of my questions will be clearly known to me without asking. Yes- the Bible says that it is in this life that we see in parts, but when the perfect comes the imperfect would go away.(1Corinthians 13:9-10)

Have you ever wondered why the Richman recognized Abraham without a formal introduction even though Abraham lived and died many years before he was born?(Luke 16:24)

HealthRe: Man With A Face Transplant by Techwriter: 2:30am On Oct 18, 2012
See what acid or bullet from a jealous lover or armed robber can do to the body. We are scared of such things and especially of terrorists. Meanwhile Jesus advised
"To you my friends I say 'Do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. I will tell u whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has the power to throw into hell. Yes, I tell you, he is the one to fear.'" Luke 12:4-5

Be wise friend, FEAR GOD
Well said but not a fact...Solar charger has been a project in some of our tertiary institutions but lack of Government support "cos is a black initiative didn't allow it to come through...but since this is from Nokia you will soon see it with our governors...Mtchewww!
Its not late- if its China, they will copy Nokia and do for other phones just by studying the technology used by Nokia. But here in Nigeria, we like to apportion blames
PoliticsRe: IGP Receives $620,000 Subsidy Scam Video by Techwriter: 1:44am On Oct 15, 2012
A day is coming when God will judge the secrets of men. Just like the video (if true) will be an undeniable evidence, so will it be on that day because God sees in secret. Before u are quick to judge Farouk examine your secret life because the CCTV camera of heaven is video-ing you.
Nairaland GeneralRe: What Next After Death? by Techwriter: 12:13am On Oct 15, 2012
The thread is too long. If u are looking to preach make it snappy so your audience most of who are already bored wt preachers would read it. I also recommend a book "Voices from the Edge of Eternity" by pastor David Ogbueli. The book contains the last words of popular minutes before they died. You will discover the way believers die is different from that of unbelievers. What were the last words of Adolf Hitler, Charles Darwins, Muhamed, Pope John Paul, Kenneth Haggin, Sadam Hussein etc. Its a great tool for evangelism. The DVD version contains life testimonies of those that died and Jesus took them through a journey of Heaven and Hell.
The book is actually a blessing

CelebritiesD'banj, even If Your Blessing Is From God,satan Has Hijacked It by Techwriter(op):
I read a recent post on the Front Page of Nairaland
"The reason why I am successful today is because of God. So if you can't understand my success or if it's too fast for you, please don't classify it as Illuminati. It is very annoying and God might strike you down, because he would not share his glory with any 'family' - D'banj said in a recent interview.
I want you to understand that God can bless you or make you successful through skill and opportunities he gave u because he makes the sun shine on both the good and evil. But He expected u to use that success to advance His kingdom on earth, but you towed the opposite. The devil has used you to advance his purpose on earth. From immorality to pervasions of differing dimension u have become a tool in satan's hand. I'm glad u recognized God as your. Source but one thing thou lackest-the salvation of your soul. God still loves u. He still longs for u and I wish some1 takes this mess*ge to you.
RomanceRe: Are Christian Brothers Less Interesting Than Other Men? by Techwriter:
I think it depends on the lady (or who ever is judging)and her degree of depth in the things of God. A christian can be one of these three:
1. Baby Christian: Newly born again-her choices may still be based on the values of where she's coming from or she may overzealously make hasty conclusions. Those of them that came to Christ needing husband, money etc will more likely opt for the carnals. Those that came because they needed God may be overzealously carried. They are just babes carried about by every wind.
They may not sound interesting to a rational mind but its just a matter of time before they adjust. They can end up as any of the last two categories:

2. Carnal Christian: though they are saved and have been in church for many years yet they are not governed by the Spirit but by the flesh. They are controlled by the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life(1 John 2:15). Unfortunately, most Nigerian ladies fall under this category so they can judge a serious believer as uninteresting and a fellow carnal believer as very interesting

3. Mature Christians: Now I don't mean religiously fanatical dudes. But these ones know that their first assignment is to please the Master. That they are not in this world for themselves and that there is a hereafter. Ladies of this category look for God fearing men that will take them there. Their marriages last because they built it on the rock not the sandy foundation of the above.
NB: the word interesting depends on a lot of factors. What is of interest to u may not interest me so u may say I'm not interesting to be wt. For instance a guy may enjoy football and his continues discussion of football before a lady who likes discussing cars will be very boring.

CrimeRe: Interview With Friends Of Slain Uniport Students by Techwriter: 12:29am On Oct 10, 2012
The worst would be going to Hell Fire from burnfire. We waste time on Nairaland and other media discussing the horrible and sudden death of Cynthia,Aluu 4 and the rest without sitting to reflect on our own lives. Where will u spend eternity. How u died is not as important as how you lived. If you lived for Jesus, then dying is gain according to Apostle Paul
PoliticsRe: Picture Of A Nigerian Dressed In National Colours by Techwriter: 12:56am On Oct 02, 2012
If believers can learn from this woman-she is not ashamed of her country with all her faults. Paul saus: I am not ashamed of the Gospel, because its the power of God unto salvation. The church may not be perfect but we're looking unto the perfect Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith
Happy Independence day
Bro, been a lawyer doesn't guarantee intelligency. Fashola may be in my fifth position. Like i said, state your order.
@OP, you are judging peoples opinion. Allow people to express their opinion and don't super impose yours on others. Arrogance is not confidence. Fashola is just humble and civil in approaching issues, it doesn't cancle out his force of impact. Moreso action speaks louder than voice. Jesus said that "wisdom is justified by her children" meaning that your result justifies your approach
