Romance › Re: Everywoman's Desperate Zone by Tedpgrass: 6:33am On Nov 28, 2012
tpia1: Most men arent desperate unless they have certain material benefits they stand to gain from the marriage.
I beg to differ....

What's different is the measure of male desperation.... what else largely accounts for the prevalence of mail order brides or arranged marriages??

For the woman keen to have children later. EGG- banking is a viable, expensive but alternative option. Keeping a healthy body n soul is imperative. Women have been known to carry term pregnancies in their 40's and 50's....... these numbers are increasing daily.

The moral argument against older parents don't stand IMHO.

Children of younger couples are being increasingly looked after by househelps, other variables and grandparents who become de facto parents once again. Whilst children of "old age" will more likely than not, have financially stable parents who will be able to provide the direct care, rather than delegate parental responsibility.

People are living longer too, so chances are you may get to see grandkids before kicking the bucket, despite starting later.

So go EGG-banking sisters ASAP. Best time will be late 20's or early 30's.

Eiregirl: No matter how selfish SHE is? What he did is SICK & I hope he gets what he deserves!!!! angry
I think we should be fair in apportioning blame here.
They both did wrong...
she was well aware of his marital status,
...went ahead to marry him,
....sleep unprotected ..
..... and also to have the twins.. abortions are free ..

So she (white wife) deserves NO pity!!!!

Funke: make-up, hair really nice.... dress not quite there esp with the tommy.... now if she's preggie, that's aight.

Rukky: garish lipstick, flattish 'chest area' dress shade not right with her complexion but sits well on the hips, no tommy too.

Overall, Funke carried it well.

Romance › Re: Things Men Should Never Ask Women by Tedpgrass: 2:44pm On Nov 19, 2012
BBM: First of all , a man should never ask a woman if he can kiss her, as she will only say, a man should never "ask" for a kiss.

Asking her for a kiss will only make a man look like a boy, which is what a woman is not interested in, and even if she says "yes", it could mean she is just being polite, while on the inside her attraction meter will read a firm, "No".

Secondly , a man should never ask a woman if he can take her out on a date sometime, as she would like to be with a man who is a leader and in control, not someone who asks her permission to hit on her.

A man should confidently ask a woman out, by simply saying, "We should hang out... what's your number?" or tell her about a specific place he wants to take her to.

Thirdly , a man should never brag about the car he has or the kind of house he lives in, as it would seem like he is trying hard to impress her.

Women would be far more impressed by a man's material possessions if he does not mention them in conversation.

The fourth thing a man should never ask a woman is what she wants to do for the night, as she likes a "man with a plan".

The man needs to have a game plan before he calls her, so as to ensure that she will not be burdened with having to think about what to do.

Fifthly, a man should never ask a woman if she likes him, as this is one phrase that turns off a woman completely.

He should just assume that she likes him, and never ask the question, as it would look like he has no confidence.

The sixth tip is that a man should never ask a woman why she never answered his message, as one, it would show that he cared she did not reply back, and two, it would give her a guilt trip, which is seen as insecurity by women.

The seventh tip is that a man should never ask a woman how men she has slept with, as this shows that he is suffering from insecurity.

The eighth tip is that a man should never hint at a future date with a woman he has just met, as she not only wants but needs a guy who is somewhat of a "challenge", and will lose interest if she senses she has won.

The ninth tip is that a man should never end a phone conversation with a woman with a "next step", as firstly it would kill any spontaneity by being predictable, and secondly he would kill any chances of her calling him.

The tenth tip is that a man should never talk bad about a woman's guy friends especially if he hasn't met them and doesn't know her very well, as this is the fastest way for her to mark him as "insecure".

http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-10-03/man-woman/29829800_1_woman-tip-insecurity

Men please ROGER THAT..

Feel free to share your thoughts.
The only bit that made sense was rule 3, others are impractical or display a downright cocky "bad boy" attitude.

Romance › Re: My White Wife Wants Me To Dump And Forget My Wife And Children In Nigeria by Tedpgrass: 11:28am On Nov 18, 2012
Agree wt JB....

Many things need to be considered here, if a quick solution is desired ....

1) bigamy, a crime, has been committed here, the white wife can easily deny any previous knowledge whilst giving him up to the authorities..

That will invalidate his permanent residency, making it difficult if at all, bringing his Nigerian wife n family over...
I'm sure from the sound of things, its something she will definitely do if she becomes aware that he wants to leave her.

2) Divorce here can be pretty messy, if the bigamy issue is not brought up by the wife. This is an advantage to the white wife, as it will essentially make it easier to obtain child support in a timely fashion.

However, if she lets out the secret, she may still get the support but at a later date, as he'll be primarily charged and may be imprisoned and deported depending on the country, their prevailing laws and "social sensitivity" and judge presiding over the case. Particularly, if he hasn't denied paternity of the twins

She may pursue him to Africa, if it was felt he had the financial clout. Baring that, his further entry into that particular country may be prohibited for a time.

It's far more complicated than actually presented.

He might have had more reprieve if they had been partners rather than spouses as the rules can be bent a little more.

3) of course, the children have to feature in future deliberations.....

Seems he's walked ,eyes wide shut, into this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Romance › Re: Bride NOT Kissing Groom On Wedding Day!!!!! by Tedpgrass: 4:21pm On Nov 03, 2012
I'm amazed as to how earlier responses depict a huge focus on the kiss.....
Wetin!!! Stop getting your knickers up in a twist...

A kiss on the day is a product of mutual agreement....
I'm aware of a lady who refused n ducked away from her hubby at the appointed time on the wedding day...... now I'm also aware that pre-nuptials, some pre-intimacy had occurred.

Apart from the bride's reservations, some denominations forbid the act.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Tips For Personal Assistant Interview?? by Tedpgrass: 3:58pm On Nov 03, 2012
U
aweleokolo: I am a PA and I enjoy my job.

First, you should be prepared to work longer hours than other employees especially when your boss requires it.

Discretion in paramont in this role. You will be privileged to classified information by virtue of your position.

During your interview be calm, polite and straight to the point. In my experience, MD's like people who can communicate clearly and quickly. Make your point, give relevant examples and stop.
Emphasise that your ethicaland moral standards and integrity when you are asked about your strengths and weaknesses.

Be sure you are competent with Microsoft Office tools and outlook. (Excel and Word are about to be your new best friends)

Make it clear that you are willing to work flexible hours and travel when required.

To show that you are interested in the job and your career, ask them what your typical day as an assistant will be like? Ask your scope of work and find out about your career progression withing the organisation. (Unless you want to be a PA forever)

Don't bring up salary talk until they do. When they do? Ask them what the previous person in that role was earning. They will play on your lack of experience so highlight your strengths and negotiate careful. But act like it isn't all about the money. Act like you are more interested in the oppourtunity to support and contribute to the success of the management team.

Finally, remember to pray for Guidance and Favour. That His Will be done.
Goodluck.
Well-defined and delivered!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If a girl can prefer a bad guy to a gentle one,why wont she prefer "high heel" to "normal shoe" .. The funny thing is that after the bad guy breaks her heart, she will come back running to the gentle guy..
When high heel don break their leg finish, them go begin run find rubber slippers..
To all the high heel ladies in the house,"THOU SHOULD NOT JOKE WITH THY ANKLE,COS AN ANKLE INJURY CAN CHANGE "YOUR CATWALKING" TO "ELEPHANT WALKING,IF CARE IS NOT TAKEN,IT MIGHT DIVERT TO K-LEG AND GIVE YOU PERMANENT V-SHAPED NYASH"..Be warned...
That got me laughing..... hard!!!

Not to worry, once the ankles are gone or feet look all gnarled and more like chicken toes, the orthopaedic chaps will crack n break the bones needed and effect a cosmetic repair.

The chronic back n ankle pain is a different matter. Ask V Beckham.

Romance › Re: What Is Behind Late Marriages For Ladies ? by Tedpgrass: 6:01am On Oct 25, 2012
Every woman always has a window of opportunity. There is a time when you get uncountable suitors. These is where most women make the mistake. Rather than be reasonable and pick a.Single good man who has potential to be something in the next couple of years they go for the Rich ready made man with swag forgetting that someone was involved in making him and trying to reap where they have not sown. No man is stupid, 9 times out of 10 a man would pick a beneficial woman and not an opportunist. Some women still get their choice; a man working in a oil coy, with a good salary driving a Toytoa camry and alredi staying alone but the problem is that these sort of men are not able to go round. Potential men in a couple of years would also become this sort of man but by then, they would either be willing to stay with those who remained with them during their growth period or be looking to date girls in their early twenties. Girls in their late twenty simply look like chip of the old block: the same girls who were not "attracted" to them then plus they don't look as beautiful again too.
Dear Sir,
What's ur response to the women who stayed to support these men in their "growth" spurt but promptly replaced with younger models upon (their) "arrival".

Examples abound for us to see in society.

From recollections, those men aren't brought to book but are rather "hailed".
Advice to any female: spend time n effort empowering yourself legitimately!!!!

A guy who can't be comfortable with your grace (wealth or influence), doesn't have the grace to be with you.!!!!

Romance › Re: What Is Behind Late Marriages For Ladies ? by Tedpgrass: 5:49am On Oct 25, 2012
Sagamite: 37 is actually old.

Women giving birth at that age have significantly increased risk of giving birth to a child with health issues (e.g. Down's syndrome) and a women at 37 would most likely be far less attractive (older looking) than at 22.

There is nothing wrong in delaying marriage or not wanting to get married, but lets not argue against biology.
Dear sir,
Please present the statistics or data behind that assumption that older women look Wowo!!

IMHO, those women who are career focussed, with no responsibility....not having to educate not just their family but the entire village.... and are health conscious.... look good.

Of course environment matters, but the wowo-looking ones have always been that way.

BTW met a 56 yrold carrying her 2nd child: her 1st is 3yrs old.Admittedly, its egg donation, but there's an increasing number of babies who only carry genes from one of the parents...either in a formal or traditional..."milkman theory" setting.

Options of freezing eggs though expensive should be explored.

skyone: Well i can categorically tell you the issue of spiritual husband is on the board and can not be erased. Many likes of yours knows this problem is the epitome of late marriages in women desiring one.

Obviously number 1 applies to your belief above. And where you failed woefully is your foul belief of career over family life. Yes you can strife for better future but hey your silly move is not the way to go about it . Ask many women  that has left wearing your shoes how regrettable their life is today.

********************************************************
Skyone I would like to cut in here.
The lady above is enjoying a fulfilled life and you're moaning otherwise!!

It's a matter of opinion.....ways of assessing quality of life.
It's not in your remit to decide how people should live their lives and at what age to settle down.

That's Superiority/ Inferiority bullsh.....it.

I have a 38yr old female single unattached friend who enjoys herself, traveling the world n learning about new cultures, art, music and chateaux... You have no "right" to think she has a poorer quality of life.

I constantly meet as clients, women in their 40's and 50's who have been single for relative long periods with no children...... guess whathuh

They are having a ball!!!!!!!!!!

******Loneliness gets easier to deal with as you grow older.
BTW, many wives are lonely in their marriages
So its relative!!!********

They look years younger than their contemporaries with children, have a satisfying career or hobby, encourage a good circle of friends and a holistic approach to life.

For the woman seeking a partner or husband, more "vaseline" to your elbows.

To those not quite there yet, take your time, freeze ur eggs if you're maternal once arriving at 30!! Or consider egg donation IVF or potentially cloning!! (Technologies are fast developing).

.

Just my OPINION!!!
Romance › Re: Single And Happy...please Share Your Experience. by Tedpgrass: 5:08am On Oct 25, 2012
Solitude presents opportunities for reflection and hopefully self development.
Depending on personality and maturity, times of "loneness", can be times of great intuitive expose.

Get some good books, keep occupied with work or hobbies and a few friends to share a night out at the theaters or a bottle of Chardonnay and play armchair critic.

Quite settling.......

Do give it a try!!

I'm not 1 to condone silliness
But I sense this guy is yet to recover emotionally from the baggage of the previous relationship.
You need to do some factfinding, if you're keen on him!!

What is the outcome of this previous relationship... has the brideprice being returned? Or the "marriage" being dissolved n divorced?

What time intervals exist btw the dissolution n start of ur relationship n now? That gives an insight into whether 'time has truly healed his scars".

As much as a man is responsible for you in marriage, why don't you start looking to go back to School on your funds. He can encourage u likewise once observing your initiative. It's not his responsibility to do that, just yet.

Original post was quite balanced generically....
But does not take into cognizance,
***the pressures of modern day life n effect on family
*** the lost art of communication...... movement of the lips may not necessarily impart the information.
*** the lack of patience n fortitude on the part of the DILs.
This almost shows up in marriage later, when that same lack is shown towards the husband.
*** the extremes of manipulation as expressed by DILs. I ponder that during the days of courtship, these same girls will bend over backwards to please the MILs.... but change once married, particularly after bearing a heir and or spare!!!!
