rafhell: Kudos!Where are the pedestrian bridges ?The road has been poorly designed with regards to pedestrian use....IMHO . |
When will u finish the story... 6yr hiatus is unacceptable Thanks, very much. . |
Ufuoma UN: You do not §ëë any big picture. Your facts ain't sound. How do u expect me to believe your funny theory of saying this whole drama is an isreali ploy to dominate the middle east. Its sound like a joke from a story book. As much as you want to believe that the USA often meddle in international politics out of greed and personal gain, you might also want to know that kids are dying everyday in syria, women are dying. Something needs to be done. If you remember vividly this crisis started when the syria govt began to open fire on protesters, killing them with roof snipers and all that. Why would a govt sworn to defend its subjects bring them death in return. The fact remains that the syrian govt has increasingly become unpopular over the past few months. Call a spade a spade. The Assad regime has outlived its welcome.Ummmm.... Same happens in North Korea, parts of Russia, China, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Bahrain ........ to mention a few televised places. Where's Uncle Sam to intervene ............. btw... how e take be Uncle... why not Grandpa.... as their recent actions appear a little geriatric!! ![]() Though its sad, Injustice unfortunately abounds everywhere. Posterity not emotions has to play a major role in decision-making..... don't kill a few 10s of thousands now ............to leave an entire region of millions running into billions in turmoil for decades... in simple terms. I'm aware that things are far more complicated than this. I can imagine the "Defence Arcade.. different military, paramilitary, private arms suppliers, consultants and advisors............. and their flotilla" smiling all the way to the banks. Guaranteed income for a few decades or centenaries!!!!!! Dear!!!! So that argument/debate has been overused, over-flogged!!!! Give us something more credible and wholesome. . |
Oops... Double post... See the wisdom in getting my partner to check my posts!!! ![]() |
todayguest: Try pull a 3 fold cord and 1 single cord, the difference is a lesson. Humans aren't trees created to live alone. That's why we're born into families. Nobody has achieved anytin meaningful all by him /herself. It's applicable in every area of life. One is 2 small a number. If you can enjoy been alone while young, what bcomes of you, when old? The bible had dis to say, that 2 is better than 1. When 1 falls d other picks him up. Again, iron sharpens iron.Oga today..... I hail u na, but....... Abegi....... When did living alone mean I've become a disenchanted member of society... If I'm not mistaken, that's the picture you're painting up there. Living alone doesn't mean my homies don't watch my back. It doesn't make me a societal eejit either. When the significant other is about, yeah, its cool..... but work commitments means we live at different addresses.. ![]() But addressing ur views on living old alone...... I think that's an over-whipped donkey!!!!.. ![]() It's all about your support system(s) in place. "Your relatives are the ones who care for you, not necessarily blood relations....", is a saying, I've heard a few times. I gat this group of single "old" friends who are having a ball...... keep a select group of friends with similar interests, explore new interests, travel together, pray together, do stuff together..... That sure beats my neighbour whose nuclear family had to entice her husband to marry her,and is presently left to financially look after herself, 3 children + 1....errh the husband refuses to work.... I don't see that "husband" sharpening her knife except miracles occur!! A lot of true success stories abound of people who had no support/ family but put them in place by a dint of hardwork!! There's always the other side of the coin to every debate. . . |
Remii: i am not out to argue, but no one can like you more than yourself without selfish reason. You just attempt what I said by listening to those news chanels with open mind. You will see that CNN support the rebels, RT (Russia Today) supports the govt while Aljazera trie to be sympathetic to Arabian course.Bros / Sis....... 3 gbosa for you.!!!!! It's simply mind-boggling how some people can be so simple/naive!!!! "Democracy, 1 size fits all" is not a winning formula..... It's something the imperialists know, but will sell as propaganda to simple-minded shallow-thinking armchair analysts... in order to win short term support to carry out some of their frankly illegal acts/ "occupations". Previous experience in the middle east abounds in history books and doesn't support this theory.... Hence different nations, civilizations, topography and available resources..... demand different styles of rulership or government. so it defies natural logic to use this formula ......... .....but other than for a short term economic gain whilst hoping a "MTVised" world population will not look deeply at facts/ lyrics but be carried away by the superficial beats/ rhythm.... surprisingly, they almost got away with it. Obama is having a hard time because he came on a ticket to stop the war as the American populace were tired of unending wars which has led to /aided an economic meltdown and a deeply unpopular foreign slant. Hence his reluctance with regards to storming into Syria. I can only pray he does what's right and fair to all, not just to the "chosen". Learn to dissociate protests, uprising from political revolution. One could mistaken the widespread London/ UK riots the summer preceding the 2012 Olympics as an uprising/ political revolution and demand for change in government!!!!! There were slogans to that effect, btw. But I didn't see the rebels/ protesters aided by France or the US. It's obvious the Arab Spring is turning into a nightmare, hence Mubarrak is out to put in the "erring upstarts" in Egypt (after the Muslim Brotherhood chap was thrown into Jail ...... come oh!!! Abi na revolving door principle dey shele .....) or at least appear to do so, : Tunisia is revolting against their new "democratic" leaders and : Libya.... dat one na real checkmate.... wasted a whole US , na a whole United States of Amehhhhh ambassador +..... 2/3 SEALs (my prayers and thoughts to their loved ones) No reprisals from the States yet...... now that speaks volumes even for those who are stone-deaf!!!! I'm passionate about this injustice as its the misguided man in the street that suffers terribly, whilst its business as usual for the ogas at the top, in millions of dollars!!!!!!! Afterall, na dem dey supply ammunition, state of the art planes, food and clothing etc!!! Abi, u dey see any of their children dey fight apart from Prince Harry...... that na my guy... little rascal.... God knows how many heart attack, he don give im Grandma?? ![]() Check out todays Iraq... economy is still in a mess, law and disorder, :/ Saddam-built infrastructure completely destroyed, with few replaced....... see children dying from diseases/ tumours that are secondary to land contamination from mortars and weaponry used a decade or more ago when they were unborn and their parents were still potentially children themselves.... and that's just an aspect......... Make we shine our eyes wella Look beyond the rhythm, understand the lyrics!!! Not everything needs war or uprising..... Simply causes more harm than good on the long-term. God bless Nigeria!!! . |
Remii: You really believe every uprising is indigenous? You need to listen to views of CNN, RT and Aljazera on the same story from the Middle East.Thanks...... It's absurd how people buy into propaganda... Where is the analytical and evidence-based approach to things?? . |
Caleboha: Who born Iran? Make dem try bomb any country na, they'll cease to exist in the world map! It'll take only the gallantry of America to invade all these country unscathed. America rules the world, haters can to go to hell!!!Please give supporting evidence..... No "empty drums" here please........ . |
Dramarama!!!! As these are allegations, what proof has she provided to substantiate her claims ![]() Till then, she's only making noise!!! The true victims here, if her allegations are true, remain primarily,....the pastor's wife... if married and his flock and assembly of Christians who look upto him as a mentor. I get amused when Nija girls try to imitate attitudes of a different society..... simply states the degree of delusion they live in. Too much TV!! IMHO I don't condone the prevalent Nija societal attitude that stigmatizes the "other" woman in a consensual adulterous setting, absolving the man in question of all blame...... afterall, it takes 2 to tango!!! However, that's the way it is. In Rome, you do as the Romans do... no be so?? So let every girl out there chasing 'Aristo' or equivalent and hoping to do a "Kim Kardashian tell all" movie...... the joke is on you!!! Keep ur legs closed, drink u na garri, praying for better days with ur integrity intact. You can't do the above..... Chop and clean mouth and stop exposing gross silliness!!! . |
Lucky gurl: This reminds me of a male friend of mine who's having severe malaria and no one is there with him. I wonder how he copes. Some people are trying anyway. That's not a good reason to get unwanted, needy, possibly dirty housemates..... Simply alert ur friends via t.e.l.e.p.h.o.n.e..... to keep an eye on you. To the op..... living alone is fab.... In solitude, connect to The Maker, get inspiration, hone ur skills in ur spare time not dealing with d.r.a.m.a!!! |
And how does that stop anything? We all thing taking the maid away will solve the problem but it does not. A dog is a dog no matter where you take it, it will bark. If the husband is a fifty pig who will sleep around, he will find a way to sleep with someone else if not the maid. Stop trying to put in temporary measures and find a way to fix the real problem which is your husband. Why should someone who is doing her job(and well) be punished cos the husband decided to show his true colors? Yet we wonder why our family are unstable. We leave the root and start chasing the leaves. I still find it disgusting that no one has mentioned the man or given him any blame yet. People will never change from their village way of thinking
Bros.... I hail you. There are few Nija men who will be this forthright. Fewer still....... will walk their talk. It's obvious madam is concerned bout Oga tasting the "forbidden"......... She alleges episodes where she'd caught his eyes doing "further detailed inspection".. hence temptations abound!!! The Nija society aids and abets this sort of behaviour as opposed to other societies, and therefore to protect her marriage, she needs to diminish opportunities that may provide her husband the excuse to cheat..... particularly in such close proximity!!!!! She'll have no sympathy or support from society or friends, if the forbidden was to occur..... I suppose Nija needs more men like you, that keep ur pants zipped or buttoned up regardless of temptation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . |
duffie: I've been betrayed, lied to, cheated on etc..but absolutely no one and nothing would stop me from being a good person...if anyone and anything should make me change it's to be a better person..Totally agree. Simply be cautious, next time round!!!! |
Dear Sir^^^^^^ Have u been a victim ![]() ![]() it takes 2 to tango... methinks!?!? |
Sorry bout delay to ur response. What needs clarifying with regards to my username... Now to the matter.... It's unfortunate that the chap she got introduced to, thought with his a.rse and felt comfortable asking for money after the 1st date. I wonder if he has any idea bout "dating rules.." She has to search a little offshore. There are a few men who will have her "requirements"..... only that she's got to find how to fit their concept of an ideal women..... cos they tend to be quite OCD!!!! Before I get carried away in my analysis..... is she still looking ![]() . |
Help me, I can't seem to see the appropriate decorum in these pictures. Has she no PR assistant or what ?Despite having had a sabbatical from the public, I'm a little disappointed she's been unable to juggle proportionately her role as an Akande wife and her life as a thespian. Dakore has to see herself as an appendage of the Akande family and behave as such. That's the cross that comes from marrying into such a family. Finishing schools on decorum, public carriage and composure should be the next best thing in Nija..... me thinks!!!!! . |
Hmmmmmmmmmm..... Humility is so needed in this generation!!!... Congrats to the authors on Caine Prize shortlist....... no be yam!!! Disclaimer: excerpts to conversation are subject to prejudice. |
Interesting tale..... But reality should be interspersed with fantasy. Look at it from Jide's viewpoint....... Some chick is forced on me Ok, she dey fine and cooks but *******so does a good percentage of well-brought up Nija girls.***** She get American accent and nurse training, yeah so what.... *****You don't need to get past MMA to achieve that.***** She no get her own pay... ******Needs me to put money down ..***** Infact, she's a leech.... has not added anything to me other than well-prepared meals, no cerebral stimulation.... simply a dressed up doll, no different to pretty trannies****** ****Mehn, I will collect my brideprice money back!!!!**** And now I'm looking in her direction, she dey form "trust issues"....... ***Let's get real here, did she think Me... a redblooded man won't satisfy my needs with the woman, I once loved ********Or does she think I'll be willing to sleep with her, just because she's an Americana with all sorts of issues and potential diseases ********Like I don't have my trust and other issues too.****** My conclusion: Daisy has been put on a pedestal at the moment for too long.......... simply over-rated fantasy. As a writer, you owe your readers, particularly young vulnerable Nija ones, some measure of realism... If you want to push this glorification of Daisy, you've got to add in other things that make her such a Mojo!!!! Regular updates can sustain suspense and interest... Tactfully use suspense, otherwise its such a let-down. Otherwise good writing style Well done. . |
One day, she will take a knife to his body and then cry over his corpse if he does not walk away fast
On point bro.... Personality disorder ko, craze craze disorder ni... Power pass power... If this bro should beat the living daylights and moonshine, in retaliation, during one of her "fits", her head go correct sharp, sharp..... Then she'll realise there's madness and supa korect maadiness!! Seriously, she needs help. More importantly, given the lack of good quality mental healthcare available in Nija,....he needs some protection..... otherwise he may wake up 6feet under.... . |
CFCfan: That's a valid point. The likes of Greece, Spain et al, have been experiencing economic austerity due to the fact that those countries don't print the Euro. Instead, it's printed by the European Central Bank. WAMI could mandate it's member countries to print the ECOWAS currency themselves, instead of depending on a single ECOWAS Central Bank.p ^^^^^^ I can see individual nations deciding to try quantitative easing based on their economies rather than on a regional mandate and directive. **** This may be the new bizness for dem bois... who go know real from fake*** As mentioned earlier, there's no true commitment, there's definitely no infrastructure for it. I feel its a white elephant. Amongst other factors such as.... lack of monitoring/policing,......There's no true transparent, economically buoyant leader in the West African sub-region with structures in place that can readily transfer some of their potential across . Each house is riddled with its own peculiar perennial problems. A half-blind man leading others. There can be a intensified regional co-operation as in South America, definitely not a single currency...... simply worthless, IMHO. . |
Lakayanah: The thing is that we don't know our rights in this country that is why every tom, john and harry can take us for a ride from mtn to phcn, in short all service provider takes us for granted just because we do not fight back. The courts are there to settle feuds in 9ja if someone takes you to court over any issue I tell for 4generations to come you become enemies to the entire family of that person. I am not saying what the son did was either right or wrong but let us not behave like illiterates.I understand that the courts are for seeking redress. However, arbitration or mediation panels exist to settle minor cases.... so the court systems don't get clogged up. Therefore, not all cases are court bound. It's the oddity that a son will sue his own mother for what is thought to be a spurious reason that has gotten tongues wagging or fingers tapping away. We await further details............ . |
Decryptor: Ur friend's problems are from the boldedOga Decryptptor. U fall my hand oo So na divorcee or widower na the available options..... Isn't there a likelihood there's some chap who is single and quite willing to mingle with this sister...... Whether an older mature male now willing to settle or a younger (2-10yrs) chap with no chips on his shoulders..... Abeg. Let's look at the whole picture not stereotypes.... . |
Given the description of a rather bizarre nature of the murder and possibly sexual slant.... I wonder if this wasn't extreme S+M gone badly wrong......... Seems somebody forgot to mention the "control word" or it wasn't consensual and post-mortem pictures were to be posted on these extreme S+M sites possibly for pecuniary rewards. Thought this only happened on CSI . |
Last rejoinder..... Guys... We need to up the game.. The tide is turning on us. Using an analogy, there was a time we demanded Brazilian hair rather then bob marley....... Louis Vuitton rather than bend down boutique / Okrika Same with the ladies..... It's not all about the madingo.... let some "brain" shine through. Maybe we get a chance with the sofistikats.... Abi wetin u say ??. |
SLIDE waxie: mtchheeeeeewwwwwww!!!!!Slide...... Wetin dey.. Lamentation ko, Jeremiah ni.... I've provided views on both sides.... Checking the lives of my several ladyfriends...... Married, severally divorced and single Marriage is soooooo over-rated in Nigeria.... Inherent cultural slant dictates a woman is nothing without a man, The problem is a lot of women marry just to have a man, any man to cover their heads and take the "shame" away. Compatibility, longevity and other factors aren't seriously taken on board....... then the marriage that should be enjoyed becomes an endurance race till either or both parties opt out. I'll tell any Sister out there, Mistakes may have been made in the past... learn from them and be a better person. Never act desperate...... prompt devaluation of selfworth 10-100's downwards. Enjoy your life now, enrich yourself .... When u connect with him, then "no forming" or games..... straight to the bull's eye. Condoleeza Rice was single as Secretary of State...... she carry am for face. Christine, IMF president is 1-2ce divorced, u smell am for im body. Closer home, there are female ministers, deputy governors or law-makers who live singular lives either openly or under a "borrowed marriage umbrella"..... them dey cry. ?Naaaaaaaa.. So Baba Slide...... Not lamentation ......Just realisation that other things are equally as important or even more important than marriage. . |
Each case is judged by its merits... What were the circumstances of separation.... What's the relationship history ...... What ills have they weathered previously.... What was the nature of the circumstances leading to the conception.... Who is bringing the "illegitimate child" in. In many African settings, the men are easily forgiven as compared to the women So not a clear call.... as difficult and emotive as it may be... . |
slymm: poor woman, what a miserable life she must be living. a life without a man to call her husband. that is a life condemned by the evil forces. i bet she cries every night into her lonley pillows....God give me my man, God give me my man! her heart must be heavy. to be single at 40, imagine the trauma. poor child. her life is incomplete, makes no sense and should be pitied until the man who comes along in his shinning armour brings back colour again.....abi?Pls clarify..... U're waxing satirical here, aren't u. . @Idealhubby..... What has she received from God with regards to the marriage issue??. She follows her inner witness..... that gives peace .... not running by someoneelse's programme. Our ways aren't God's ways. It's not who gets there 1st, but who gets there well and stays on. God's faithful, despite the circumstances.... is all I can add. She needs to enjoy her life, travel....(don't have to worry about booking time off for 2+, no haggling over travel destination, leave ur hotel room as u wish, not to please ur spouse), learn new languages and new hobbies, visit birthplaces of great cultures, embrace philosophical ethos and start the businesses. If single financially well-off girls know how their married colleagues envy the freedom they enjoy and take for granted ......... they will enjoy their days of singlehood weeeeella. No man snoring and gymnasticking you out of bed, no picking up toothpaste, no socks pick-up service... no underappreciated washerwoman, cook, children's driver, accountant.... no In-law wahala.... Babes enjoy, I abegi. Disclaimer...... This in no way under-rates marriage...... It can be sweet, infact so sweet.... u wonder why it took that long.!! . |
Chei see McHammer trousers...... The guy gat to pay copyright infringement fees ![]() |
are you new to nl? okija is a confused fellow.
Thank you I'll take note......... |
Is this an academic discourse or patient seeking information.. Will help determine how to reply.. |
Alesha dear....... Congrats Deserve some major happiness. Hubby cheated with your best friend Double betrayal Kept your head up... No drama at all Post-divorce, dived in... Got some music out.. Then wowed at Strictly, then BGT..... Girrrrrrrrrrlllllllll, u gat it goin on.... Kept at it... No drama.... Then baby on the way... Still no drama.... Definition of dignified!!! Wish u 2 all the best. . Bros Az, we dey watch una o!!! |
@ Okija..... Having read through your rejoinders...... A clear pattern runs through. Making assumptions.... Assumptions have been made that the woman is a trado practitioner..... a fact she's not publicly known for, hence the uproar.. Neither as she alluded to such. The defence that these were worship instruments rather than ritualistic objects can't stand as a result. Ritualistic ! Whose farm animals or humans... be it babies or hapless individuals have been killed to facilitate its potency. No consistency in application of underlying ethos. 1 minute, you go on about white man's religion negatively then the tide turns. The constitution you quote is based directly on white man's constitution ie Great Britain. Remain consistent. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. You don't like the white man's religion,as you feel we are slaves to their mentality..... then don't use their language or inventions. Reluctance to take on significance of general public opinion, whether it's palatable or not ........... The Aluu massacre was senseless but was not of a general public opinion. Passions ran deep and wrong information was given intentionally to the villagers concerned. But the general public opinion was that of shock and disbelief...hence the outcry!! In Haiti or countries where trado practices are done openly, there may be acceptance. Not in todays Nigeria Correction... people claim the blood of Jesus.... don't kill to shed any physical blood as seen on different altars. 2ndly, the resurrection led to the risen Christ. The resurrection was the defining moment. I understand by your admissions, you have strong links to trado practitioners. However, those active practitioners, wise enough to advise will be concerned about the significance (potentially of a negative consequence) of the objects found in her possession... not a self-acclaimed priestess or member Let's call a spade a spade.... . |
