Good day house, I appreciate the good work going on here... I kindly request the elders' thoughts on the following: 1. I want to rearrange the names of my kids on their birth certificates and passports, ie make their first names middle names. I applied to SINP for the PNP points and I want to know whether it will be in order to do effect the names rearrangements before ITA (as their passports will be expiring soon) 2. Can I use a different NOC from the one I used to apply to SINP when I want to put in my application post ITA? (though the NOC is very similar and in the same job family) 3. Perchance I retake IELTS and have a higher score that lands me an ITA before SINP's nomination falls through, can I go ahead with that direct ITA and ignore the SINP nomination? 4. If my Employer's Offer Letter doesn't contain my job role but reflects only the level on which I was employed on Eg. Offer Letter says he is employed as an ASSISTANT MANAGER but did not say he is an HR ANALYST. If Employment Reference Letter now reflects the HR ANALYST job role only, hope it will not be an issue for the VO? 5. When exactly is the right timeline to do PCC (Alagbon runz) and Medicals in advance after clinching ITA? Does ALAGBON RUNZ take time and cumbersome? Thank you as it will all end in praise for us!!! (Help me arrange my thoughts regarding the above, e joo. God bless) |
smslive2:My brother, you mean? ![]() It will all end in praise IJN! |
smslive2:Smslive, Lolz at your comment....but on a serious note, from people that I interacted with on IELTS days, most people (especially young people with growing families) earning good pay (cos you wont even be doing this PR hustle in the first place if you re not averagely okay financially- should we start naming the costs? ) are really NOT running away from their jobs but most are jumping the Nigerian ship that is obviously sinking. Most people will miss their good jobs and the good pay (at least in the short term) but the question that will always remain to be answered is: "If I stay back in this country compared to if I take the opportunity to leave to re-start my life and that of my kids. What will our lives look like 10 years after, in both environments?" It's looking gloomy for most people born in the 70s and early 80s era hence the fight is for our children's future, to place their destinies in environment where their merit, creativeness and brilliance will be appreciated, polished and given the necessary rewards deserving! and most people including myself are ready to forgo the nice and good pay to give these kids that opportunity. Our careers most often are secondary, in the next 5 to 10 years in Canada, we would have caught up again with colleagues left behind in Nigeria on all fronts, pay inclusive! Cheers man. |
Hello House. I appreciate the good works that elders here are doing to contribute to our collective body of knowledge. Please help me out with this situation that is bothering me: I am currently awaiting ITA for Canadian PR application and this should, give or take, happen around 2018-Jan to May. Before I began my PR hustle in October 2017, I had earlier applied to 3 prestigious and competitive graduate schools of Public Policy in Canada and hopeful to clinch one of these prestigious admissions come March/April 2018. My questions: 1. If my graduate admission falls through in 2018, should I go ahead and accept the offer as an International student while my Express Entry is on and in progress? 2. I don't want to turn down the final preferred school because I know what I had passed through applying to these schools and the odds my application must have scaled to land an admission in any of the 3, hence, will it be in order to still keep pursuing the Federal Skilled Workers- Express Entry PR (which may be in e-AOR stage God willing by then) whilst my wife and kids are still in Nigeria and I have gone to resume school as an international student? Thank you for your thoughts in advance. |

Hello house, Please I need your advice here. I submitted an application for SINP yesterday but having submitting and reviewing my documents, I realised I made a silly mistake in filling SCHEDULE A- BACKGROUND/DECLARATION FORM IMM in filling NO answer for the question- "HAVE YOU BEEN REFUSED VISITOR OR TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA TO CANADA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY". I should have filled a YES- 1 refusal for a tourist visa to the UK in 2013. My question: Can I quickly correct the error in the form IMM5669 and rescan and submit to immigration.documents@gov.sk.ca with an explanation? Or what can I really do before SINP begins working on this batch of applications. Thank you. |
GlitteringStar:I don't think you re totally correct...you have muddled up the info too much... But you tried though. Cheers. |

jnyuwa02:Dear Jnyuwa02, God bless you for firstly being matured in re-asserting your earlier posited opinion.(Some may have reacted the other way) As you have re-stated your position now again, it's clear you have info about what you are saying and I appreciate you for that. If that's the case, I will go ahead and submit my EE application this October 2017 whilst I wait to apply for my Study Permit in March 2018 Thanks once again. |
Good day House, I have a question please: **I am at the verge of submitting a Federal Express Entry application. However, I am also going to apply for a Study Permit for a Masters program early 2018 that I intend to pursue in Canada. (Whether the Express Entry falls through or not). My question: Will I have issues with getting approval for my Study Permit application if I declare that I have an application in the express entry pool? Thank you jnyuwa02:Thank you Jnyuwa02, I am talking about STUDY PERMIT, not TRV. I just need to be doubly sure that EE application will not adversely affect my STUDY PERMIT application I appreciate your contribution all the same. Thanks. |

Hello House, As a naija guy, I am very not comfortable with this WES- ECA's payment platform charges- The WESTERN UNION BUSINESS SOLUTIONS as I'm sure there should be some other better ways. I paid for my ECA some days ago and my total fees came to CAD322 (about US$ 260.13)...I proceeded to load my Dollar mastercard to effect payment and GTBank charged me about N6,300 (I was aware about this charge upfront) whilst another charge- "OFFSHORE FOREIGN BANK CHARGE" of about N7,850 was slammed on my naira account again... Making the total charges about N15,000 to wire just US$260.13 to WES in Canada...HABA I cannot sustain this WESTERN UNION BUSINESS SOLUTIONS' option for other future payments I will be making....School Application fees, Professional bodies Assessment fees etc Biko, help a bro out with OPTIONS THAT are "charges-efficient" in making payments to Canada Thank you. |

1naira50kobo:I guess that's why it's called SKILLED IMMIGRATION PROGRAMME. Work experience weigh in heavily in the process. If you haven't worked for a minimum of 1 year in a nominated occupation, I don't know how you want to cure that lacuna. Cheers. |
mamajaz:Thank you Wiseman, Nice to know the ACCOUNTANT occupation category are coming out now. Lets keep taps on each other's application and monitor progress. Helping one another with info will go a long way in making us all scale through, one after the other....Just like the Engineers are doing!! disectur:Congrats Disectur, I pray for more of this good news in this house and I pray mine to be breaking news too soon IJN. Please Disectur, what is the procedure after you have begun the process for visa 189, and for 1 reason or the other, you didn't meet up in points or occupation is filled up, HOW DO you move to initiate the process with a state for the 190 visa? Cheers. |
Gurus in the house, Greetings. Am a newbie here: Kindly look into my profile and help with suggestions. I want to know whether it will be wise to proceed or not. Undergraduate: LL.B (Uni of Ibadan)- I don't want to use it Graduate: MBA (OAU)- I will prefer to assess this Professional Qualif: ICAN (ACA)- I intend to put this forward for assessment too. Work Experience: 8 years (Financial services- credit, audit) Age: 34 IELTS: Targeting 7.0 (but hopeful for an 8 though) NB: I wish to apply for 189 visa (if I meet 60 points) or take nomination from state nomination for ACCOUNTANT ENQUIRY: (1) Can I put my MBA and ICAN up for assessment to serve as qualifications, as these are the qualifications that is in sync with the job roles that I have done in the last 8 years, not my Law degree) (2) If I don't make the 189 visa directly, whats the strategy in applying for the state nomination to help the situation. Is the state application done concurrently with the 189 visa application or one after the other? Your advice will be greatly valued and appreciated... MofePR:Thank you Mofe, Wow!! This is deep... 1. My MBA is an MBA (Finance) 2. I earned the MBA in 2014 whilst my ICAN ACA has been since 2010. (I heard somewhere that they start counting the year for your skills from the year you earned the degree that you are presenting, so do you think the 2014 MBA wont negatively affect my points) 3. Is it true that I need ACCA (which is international) other the local ICAN, to have a favourable assessment or clinching a job offer in Aussie? 4. CPA, CA and IPA on their websites said they are closed till later, what does this mean. How do I initiate my credential assessment with these bodies...which of the accounting bodies is the best to deal with? 5.The list of 189 visa for "Accountants (General)" is filled up, will the list be refreshed by July 1? (I can't remember seeing "Auditor" on the list) 6. Where can I get the Competency Areas for Accountants you mentioned above? Thank you. Cc: Bellong and other people who have gone through the Accounting route, please come and lend your experience, it will be eternally appreciated. We shouldn't go through common avoidable mistakes again. ***I noticed that Engineering route look to support their own here more than any other job group on the lists.*** LET'S HELP OUR OWN!!! THANK YOU |

Edoblakky:Hello Edoblakky, I guess your family has joined you by now. Congrats Just some quick enquiries: 1, Did you initiate the process of your wife's SOWP before you left Nigeria to go and resume school (after your study permit came out)? 2, Does Canadian consular issues the SOWP alongside a TRV to her? 3. Did her application included TRV application for your children, at the same time? 4, Did you send in letters from your school to support her application? Thank you. |
Folaroyal:@Folaroyal, I like your optimism and "it's possible" mindset to which you approached the above scenario which plagues most of us who don't want to leave our families behind here (every loving partner wants his/her kids to be near with the spouse), not even when you re going away for 2 years. This can never be the headache of a single going for UG or Masters. On the issue of hometie, it depends on his circumstances: *. If you got study leave from your office. Your job to return to is a very good hometie (get a back up letter from your office that you will be resuming work after the programme and in addition, add the study leave approval letter from office) * Landed properties and house (if you have one) On wanting to proceed with ones family as a group for the duration of the 2 year programme. Clearly state it in your SoP: * You can plead the "Family Unification" Policy of Canada that basically desires family units to be together for the ultimate gain of social growth (instead of having having family members scattered thousand miles across the globe) * You desire your family members to have a taste of the Canadian experience (èven if it's just going to be during the duration of your studies only) that such an experience will leave a lasting impression and shared sweet memories in the family. Our problem is we reason too much like Nigerians whilst Whites don't reason like we do and what drives us and informs our decisions thereby is farrrr from theirs (The above reasons are valid enough for a white person whilst we will be saying "hey the VO will say are you going to study or be distracted with your kids and family around) It's none of his "visa approving" business. Pls let's be guided properly by not putting ourselves down AB initio. You may want to add other creative ideas as they pop up...to those above This scenario is a frequently reoccurring one which if the gurus in the house can decisively treat by writing comprehensively about it, It'll put to rest once and for all the matter and the house can henceforth direct new enquiries to the link that warehouses the comprehensive write up on the matter. God bless you all. |
Good day house and many selfless & beautiful souls helping us out here. God bless u. Help a brother out of a grey area which he has no info about. I intend to apply for an open work permit for wify and TRV for all of us (us & kids) concurrently with my study permit application...Now, I intend them to join me by my 2nd year of the masters programme. Assuming we were all granted TRV & SOWP for wify (at the time I processed my study permit), could there be an issue if they come join me the 2nd year in Canada, especially if it is noticed at the POE that they already have their documents validity running since the previous year? Thanks in anticipation of an insightful and technical response. |
@FOLAROYAL, OK. Welcome back...enough time to prepare for your resumption in May then and BTW, being in naija is golden for now considering the ongoing cold there at this time of the year. grin You'll get the email again in a jiffy. (Pls confirm your email is bayoroyal7*@gmail.com) Cheers |
