![]() Naira was stable when professor soludo was the CBN governor.. it was stable and sustainable for nearly 7 years ..down to sanusi time..it got devalued at a little rate but remained stable... please did u ever complain of rise in cost of goods during OBJ year adua or GEJ...The time when the naira shock the country was in 2014... nearly 90 percent fall .. Ibrahim Babangida mismanaged economy at his time... He introduced Black market not to mention the second worst recession happened in his tenure soulpeppersoup: |
Just thinking out loud. .in this terrible economic situation not only limited to Nigeria and the fast evolving world. What do u think should be a prerequisite for an average young Nigeria to withstand the situations of today and beyond if it get worse as a Nigerian.. and what growth and progress should a Nigerian have made according to a time frame or age..Lastly what skill do u deem necessary for an youth..
|
U made it sound as if he isn't doing u a favour... What u should understand is..such principles are the same all around the globe...even the top companies in the US ur talking about do the same...a big example is Apple and it over priced products, what about Samsung.. as far as the profit is mostly reinvested in the country u can't castigate dangote...it better than a foreign company that will invest in here and take their profit outside the country..do u think all the foreign companies in Nigeria are really interested in the growth of our economy..they only want to make their Money and take dem to their home land and foreign banks.. If dangote charges more and at the end of the day all the Money is reinvested here it better than Chinese companies that take Nigerians as slaves and take all their profit outside Nigeria... what makes an economy healthy is the circulation of money in that economy..if more money( Forex) leaves the economy expect fall in GDP and ofcourse recession... Lastly my age has nothing to do with this, it just common economics that people fail to understand and mostly inckude sentiment in judgements... although I will admit my approach could be better.. chrisxxx: |
Black marker only exist because of insufficient Forex....CBN intentional makes it like that so that no just anyhow people get access to it ... The ban on cement helped us and Inshort it still help us .. imagine if all the dangote trucks filled with cement came from abroad..let also factor in how much we spend on fuel import..if u think dollar will be 380 ..ur dreaming..it like u don't understand that cement is in the same high demand as fuel... Nigeria had introduced black market since Babangida time..so was our economy not more stable until 2014... The ban on rice yeilded almost no effect..the only ones that gained where farmers..until we are able to meet demands ..there is nothing we can do about rice... Lastly dangote met our demands with cement..his oil refinery will meet our demands..the fertilizer plant next to it including some major plants like one in PH will meet our demand..once that done in about a half a decade...we can permanently ban them...if crude oil prices doesn't Futher slide for about a decade..the economic situation will remain stable until the next big thing... soulpeppersoup: |
Honestly Both u and the person u quoted don't have sense .. Government banning fertilizer is good for our economy...dollar is N380..black Market is N470..what do u think makes this possible...it simple we import unnecessary things and what we export outside (OIL) is loosing value so much Forex ain't coming in.. wasting scarce Forex to import rice , fuel, raw sugar , fertilizer and wheat.. Nigeria spends 15 percent of it entire Forex in a year just to import fuel...and u think with the rising demands we won't keep spending more... We don't know how blessed we are if we could have 10 dangotes.. dangote alone allowed the FG to ban cement import during OBJ..he wants to do the same with fuel and fertilizer by 2023 and sugar also in the near future.. all this government couldn't do..in other to stabilise out currency we have to either find a way to boost our Forex inflow or manage it by banning useless items.. monopoly isn't ur problem... preventing naira devaluation is the main problem...after all the isn't using his money he got from monopoly to by property in Dubai like our politicians..he is stil using it to invest in Nigeria.. Items like fertilizer, sugar and fuel has to go to save Forex..and just a single man is working on getting all of them covered... imagine... Dangote is building the world largest single line refinery, a new cement plant in Edo state, a sugar refinery in nasarawa..my dear he deserves the monopoly cuz he isn't using it to acquire 9 private jet like uzor Kalu... Nigeria will still eventually benefit from the monopoly chrisxxx: |

True..but we never got this mediocre things for over 60 years...so in as much as we are behind..it still better than nothing...am not sure GEJ would have pulled this off if he was still in office... someone that couldnt even complete the Abuja Kaduna rail line in his 6 year tenure..uncle bubu completed warri itakpe and Lagos Ibadan less than 6 years.. even though he is a failure ..I can't but admut That we saw tangible differences in infrastructure.than even the 16 years of pdp Cardinalpoint: |
U are dull.. It worth it...if u have zero idea of infrastructure and it average cost please just like and keep scrolling... This is a standard guage rail line...double track.. Even some people might wanna quote me with that of Kenya but should note dat Kenya built only a single line...the cost is 1.6bn dollars...don't forget it being linked to the sea port... Go and compare the same cost with other raillines built in the western world.. remember 1960 isn't 2020.. Seyzcham91: |
Did someone tie ur legs..what stoping you from farming koyyes: |
The clear reason why gburugburu is hated is because he has no tangible project in the capital just like chime did...all his projects are in the rural areas...he is trying to open up the rural areas which I can't condemn..Enugu needs to development in it rural areas not all this states that once u pass their capital..the rest is nothing bu an eyesore.... It not until he builds one flyover before we know he is working.. He connected several communities to the grid something that wasn't there since the beginning of the world... Some rural roads too Overall he could do better...but I can't say he is extremely poor.. especially when u bring ikpeazu, yeye Bello etc Peace.. Rgade: |
Enugu has better roads than any state in the east...that doesn't mean there aren't bad roads but...where u bring that into competition with other SE states...hmmm uzohcars: |
Please stop this emotional nonsense... Do you know how much warnings were given to them...Okada had been officially banned since fashola but..they didn't obey...BRT lane was introduced and is only reserved for BRT buses..did those Bikers listen..we had an insident that was reported world wide when Sanwo olu went strict about it...and it still didn't move dem..after the ban..after that incident there are still bikes on BRT lanes...which sane city do u see dat happen...the rule is simple..don't play the highways.. Nigerians are stubborn.... Hence forth dey should burn those shit away..that will speak the language the other Okada riders only understand... okwusdidi: |
Oga travel and quite sucking breast.. Though it slow but the road is moving especially okigwe section.. go there now and see for urself slowice: |
Google is ur Friend.. Stop spewing lies because ur not aware..the Bodo bonny bridge and about 40km being built by Julius Berger is a federal government project... East West road is a federal government project... The international airport terminal bubu commissioned is 100 percent FG project..ABA portharcourt express road is handled by CCECC and is fully FG funded..that road is part of the Enugu portharcourt express road.. Which various sections like Enugu to okigwe..okigwe umuahia..and umuahia to aba...handled by Arab contractor and RCC ..they are all under construction....or u want to tell me wike will build his own section with state money and smile at FG for building other sections with FG money coming from oil.. KayyDee: |
The road is carried out in sections..the blogger is reporting on ABA to portharcourt section being built by CCECC there is the section from Enugu to okigwe that Arab contractor I believe or RCC is constructing..there is the okigwe umuahia to aba section.. The project is fully FG funded..wike hasnt built any Significant FG road KayyDee: |
Please it is not.. besides the 78 billion wike is demanding from FG is the money AMAECHI used to build federal foads DrayZee: |
Go do more fundings.. There is a video of the boys on uniform after their release they were escorted with military presence...go to channels TV.. The video is live and direct.. Stop spewing ignorance Then obviously changed their cloths to see the governor.. yusufu16: |
The person u quoted is saying the truth...it is more economical to run a pipeline from the gas plant in the south underground to the north .... There is no way u will tell me moving trucks from the gas facilities through our bad roads in numbers down to the rail lines and reloading them into the train ..think about how many trucks u need and also note the amount of fuel u will consume...it even more dangerous and requires Labour.. or do you think the gas facilities will be next to the railline..it better a pipeline is layed underground and gas is allowed to flow without human interference to the north... Lol..it funny how I think..why do u think all the fuel depot have pipelins layed underground to their facilities...do you think if they were transported by truck from papa down to the depot.. remember those filling stations who want to buy will still carry their trucks to the depot...and with all this u will believe our roads won't be worse.. U have absolutely no idea of what ur saying...it is 100percent better to have pipelines that are layed underground through areas of low human activities than to have trucks conveying them through densely populated areas to the rail station persius555: |

That the problem with black people like you.. Donald trump promised to create job...look at the situation of Nigeria and that of the US... the job ur talking is the job where Government employ u directly as a civil servant .. mention one country that employs even 10 percent of it citizen as a civil servant...the sole responsibility of government is to sustain the economy and expand sectors to indirectly promote Jobs...but one thing u guys have to understand is That not everyone can be an employee..most Nigerians are very daft that they only want free food from a boss they don't want to ever be their own boss so they blaim the government for their daft reasoning.. every time government should creat job bla bla..the only job u should expect from government is police recruitment, military etc.... nothing more...they are only responsible for the economy...when are u going to change ur mentality from how can I get job to how do I create job for my self and other people.... You only want free food u don't want to think... This is exactly what made Igbo people excel in Nigeria after the war... apprenticeship system and entrepreneurship...Igbos are the least when it comes to Jobs by government....but those guys are by far the richest with their entrepreneurship skills ...you need to change ur mentality Legionx: |
Are you an illiterate..is the minister of petroleum not Buhari... Dickson is acting under buhari... besides is Dickson in charge of NNPC whose refineries are down since Obasanjo.. Why not query Jonathan Yar adua and OBJ...they are all responsible for this mess...they left the refinery to rot all this years...d only saving grace is dangote Farki: |
Lol...the south is the most poverty stricken region region... 9 in every 10 Igbo is not jobless or pooor..... U will never find an igbo begger...it not pride... We are the leaders in real estate in Lagos, business and trade, the highest number of entrepreneurs in the whole country, the most travelled..ur just speaking form the stand point of ignorance... The Igbos are the least poorest in the south... Obamaofusa: |
Lol... Have u seen any Igbo begger... Keep deceiving urself....a tribe that started from square one without government assistance after the war ended in 1970 becoming one of the most formidable tribe..you find them everywhere in the world...a people who had nothing but 20 pounds after that war control trading in major markets in the west...the major supplier of all kind of goods...75 percent of all u ever owned and will ever own from food to tech are made possible because of the effort of this people in as much as there are dubious...u will be daft and stupid to not admit..that they are by far doing better than the north middle belt , south south and by far majority of the south westerners... mrkunlex: |
Well..there is so me truth in your words.. Only the illiterate ones say such though... The fact that a few say such can't be used to generally for a tribe.. It generally believed that yorubas are dirty... So will it sane to say the entire people in the south west are nothing but dirty.. The same thing with Hausa regarded as highly wicked... I am Igbo and i insiste that those tribalistic comment are championed by the elderly who are most likely local and uneducated..and the young illiterates... Most drug traffickers are Igbos but are all Igbos drug traffickers? Most skull miners are yorubas but are all Yoruba skull miners.. Think about it.. Taye4j: |
Those ideologies are fuelled by uneducated easterners...and you know those statements can't shake ground or change anything... The fact that someone is being foolish doesn't mean u should tackle him or her by accepting to his ideals of foolishness... As far as Nigeria constitutionally remains one..every one within is boundary can settle anywhere.. Taye4j: |
