Tribal: News making rounds in Lagos and Abuja among the Youths now is that most are Regretting for voting for Labour Party after discovering that almost all those they Voted into Winning the Political Offices in their very own Homelands are Igbos. Does it mean that the now Igbo-controlled Labour Party does not see many intelligent Persons among other Tribes to file in for this Political Offices? You agents of darkness should stop this propaganda already. Even when Obi joined the presidential race in labour party, all of your were calling it regional party. Labour party was not existing in the northern part of the country. So without contesting, how would they have gotten the tickets? I'm not Ibo or in anyway related to them apart from sharing Nigeria as a country, but this madness should stop. |

donproject2: You're all shouting Obi forgetting the history. Babangida seemed to be the champion of human rights after he toppled Buhari. What made him this champion? Every Nigerian believed Buhari was a strict leader. Babangida leveraged on this fact, he won hearts of many Nigerians, the result of his governance was disastrous. In 2015, when almost all Nigerians were groaning about Jonathan's administration, Buhari came as the perfect one to take us to the next level, APC seized the opportunity of the chaotic atmosphere we had to present Buhari to us, we were all joyous, now what can you say about Buhari after 8 years.
There is one man that's playing to the gallery, winning hearts of many cheaply, he is our Mr. Perfect now, he has solution to all Nigeria's problems, he is God-sent. I feel empathy for a man who doesn't see the future looking at the past events, a man who doesn't take clue from historical happenings. It looks like we are in one endless cycle, history seems to repeat itself always. Inasmuch as your argument and analogies seems very apt, there's yet another factor you missed completely. Yes we all know that Nigerian problem is enormous and can not be fixed completely by one man. However, Obi's conservative life is what we need now to couching the effects of Buhari's reckless borrowings. There's tools for every type of work, if you put an extravagant Atiku or Tinubu after Buhari, our Naira will keep going down because that's the effect of the borrowings. |
Politics › Re: Road Cutting, Part Of Strategies To Protect Kogites From Terrorists – Kogi Govt by telleyway: 4:21pm On Feb 24, 2023 |
iwaeda: The Kogi State Government, on Thursday, clarified the excavation of some roads in Kogi Central, saying it is a deliberate security measure to cut off traffic on those roads with a view to restricting the use of the roads by criminals who had been breaching the peace of the area with attendant loss of lives and property.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communications in the State, Kingsley Fanwo, the State Government drew the attention of the public to an explosion that rocked the Okehi Local Government Secretariat Complex a few days ago, as well as the Okene blast of December 29, 2022, during President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the State.
According to him, the security agencies ensured no life was lost as a result of the recent explosion, but the State Government convened an emergency Security Council Meeting to address the security challenges in the area with a view to devising strategies of averting possible future occurrence, especially as the State witnessed a similar explosion on December 29, 2022 at Okene.
“One of the measures arrived at was to restrict the number of routes to the flashpoints to enable security agents properly mount effective surveillance on the other access roads for the safety of the people, especially as they go to the polls on Saturday February 25, 2023. We thank the State Ministry of Works and Urban Development for their proactive efforts on the road,” he stated.
Fanwo asked if the outburst of a Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, could be taken to mean that she was benefitting from the seeming insecurity in Kogi Central, noting specifically that as an indigene of Okehi Local Government Area, she had not considered it expedient till now to sympathise with the people over the recent explosion. from the seeming insecurity in Kogi Central, noting specifically that as an indigene of Okehi Local Government Area, she had not considered it expedient till now to sympathise with the people over the recent explosion.
“To her, their lives do not matter. But she was quick to characteristically blackmail the State Government when measures were taken to protect her people,” he said.
He warned those sponsoring terrorism in the state to desist as security agents have enough evidence to nab masterminds.
“Some of the masterminds of the Okene blast of December 29, 2022 have been arrested and they are giving useful statements to security agents. With the current measures in Okehi Local Government, we are confident that the cowards who attacked the symbol of unity of the Okehi people will not escape from justice,” he disclosed.
The Commissioner said, “Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan should recognise the fact that the administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello will never slaughter security on the slab of politics and will ruthlessly deal with criminal elements and their sponsors whose hearts are not immersed in the culture of peace of the Ebira Nation.
“As a Government, our responsibility is to protect the Kogi people, and sometimes, we have to take drastic and even temporarily discomforting steps to achieve that. INEC and security agents have not complained about accessing every part of Okehi Local Government Area in particular and Kogi Central in general. Why is Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan crying on behalf of INEC when as an institution, INEC has communication structures and platforms?”
The state government called on Kogites to disregard allegations of trying to use local militias to harass voters, saying, “The protagonists of such fiction are elements who want to create panic in the state because of desperation to provoke chaos to cover up for their political feebleness.
“We assure the people of Kogi Central and Kogi State in general to come out enmasse to cast their votes as adequate security arrangements are in place to protect them before, during and after the polls. Those who need to worry are criminals who will never be spared in the state.”
https://www.channelstv.com/2023/02/24/road-cutting-part-of-strategies-to-protect-kogites-from-terrorists-kogi-govt/ If actually this was a stand taking by security council of which commissioner of police is part of, how come police were the ones that arrested those carrying out the barbaric act? I never knew we can be excavating roads in 21 century as a security measure. Bello is truly a complete definition of failure. |

Whether we like it or not, Nigerian politics is pivoted on two sentiments: tribalism and religion. Politicians selfishly used these to their advantage, making their gullible followers to believe they are fighting their cause. Nigeria is an ethno-religious country, everything is viewed along tribal and religious line. To strike a balance, Christian - Muslim, North - south is always considered. There's always this feeling of entitlement by the northern Muslim that Nigeria is theirs to govern, hence north is only reduced to a Muslim territory despite having a good number of Christians. I will choose three presidential candidates to illustrate what the outcome of this presidential elections will portray on our collective existence.
(1) To eliminate Christina - Muslim ticket, governor Elrufai of Kaduna state was chosen to taste the microphone, who successfully brings an end to Muslim - Christina ticket in Kaduna government. A win for Tinubu in this election will permanently put an end to Muslim - Christina or Christina - Muslim in this country.
(2) North has over the years, bragged about huge land mass and population, despite being behind in terms of development . A win for Atiku or Kwankwoso means presidency will only come to south by Divine providence.
(3) A win for Obi or any other southern candidate who's a Christian will reflect our true diversity. This is because it will be viewed among south eastern as having equal share and a sense of belonging. It will also honor the gentleman agreement of power rotation between north and south as well as long time Christina - Muslim coexistence. |

However, the hue and cry of the APC governors is due to the fact that the hardship is a ploy to instigate and provoke the populace against the ruling party which Tinubu is representing in the coming election! This is as clear as crystal even to a baby. It's not as if you don't Know this but you are happy about it thinking it would help the kinds of Obi. Do you know that you have ended up saying nothing? |

Obaaderemi2: Are you aware Nigeria's inflation has risen since this policy. This is not how you demonitize. Nigeria had less than 5% of its cash in the economy, in India it's about 7%, in America it's about 10% . So what demonitizatiion are they talking about? It's a plan to harm Tinubu and hand over to another northerner.
Have you ever heard where a sitting president would say vote for the candidate of your choice instead of campaigning for the candidate of his party? This thing is very clear. We are not babies here. Are other candidates running for president not using money? Why do you keep saying it is targeted at Tinubu? That only confirmed that you were only banking on vote buying, am I right? Why do Tinubu feel so entitled to the presidency? Was it not only one vote he cast for Buhari same as others? Don't you know that saying he made Buhari president is insulting to billions of people that part take in the voting? If he really can make one president, he should stop wailing and make himself this time around. |

localbreed: Why I Don't Support Tinubu for President of Nigeria
Personal reason: I don't like the choice of his Vice, he strikes me as the true face of Bokoharam.
Health reason: He is obviously struggling with his health and memories. It is not his fault that he is old, but it is his fault that he has refused to rest. I won't push him to an office that his health and age will not carry. He will end up ruling by proxy, which is not good for a country like Nigeria.
Reason based on justice: GEJ and his party were voted out of office based on incompetence, it is only fair that with the woeful failure of APC that has superseded that of PDP, the party should not be rewarded with another tenure.
Based on morals: Tinubu has consistently lied. He lied about his age, his education, and his family. They even hired people to act as bishops and priests in one of their unveiling programs. I do not trust anything he is promising. Even more, is the fact that he is an alleged drug lord and he has not denied his dealings with illegal drugs. My moral conscience won't allow me to consider him.
Religion: He is Muslim, his Vice is a Muslim and they both want to take over from a Muslim. In a country like ours with about 50% Christians, they are simply saying that the North has no Christians. And to make it more obvious, El Rufia in one of his recent interviews described the northern Christians as an "enclave".
Issue base: His major drive to be president is based on the fact that he considers the presidency as his turn (emi lo kan). Even on issues he has spoken about, none is coherent. And even if you think anyone is coherent, they don't seem to have emanated from him.
Note: I have the right to my opinion on the candidates. This is my personal opinion. This is upper cut, very funny but true |
