@Fhemmy Stop spreading FUD. The freefall of the Naira against the dollar and pound happened in Soludo's tenure, not under Sanusi's watch. I recall Soludo himself informing the national assembly that the move was deliberate. In a country where we import goods and we have precious few non-oil exports, the guy let our Naira drop. Not good! |
Is this not arrant nonsense? You want things to improve, yet, you dont vote, you dont pay tax, you shout on top of your voice on NairaLand how things are bad- why dont you just zip it up? Is this morally right? Shut up.
don't stop there! What did your dad do next after you told him these words? |
And i want to help you see a psychotherapist to rid you of the deep loathing you have for Nigerians in the diaspora. All i see from you is posts ripping into Nigerians living abroad. Why the beef, young man? |
Did his wife renounce him and his stolen money or was she busy spending the stolen money because she thought it was his salary?. I don't know whether this is delusion or outright insincerity on the part of Nigerians because I don't know why his family should be exonerated in this issue. How can you claim that his family doesn't know he is a thief?. The same thing Abacha's household claimed but yet spouse and children are busy spending his loot. John Gotti's daughter said the same about her father and was battered over that comment. If Bode's children are minors, I may forgive their ignorance but don't tell me they didn't know he was embezzling funds. I was not born yesterday.
So what do you expect his family to do? Denounce their own father/husband? Please! In this Africa where respect is everything, people like you would even flame them more for 'disrespecting' their breadwinner. I don't care whether his family knows he's a thief or not. And i never even made that assertion. All i know is, we do not know for sure. A court of law has found the man guilty of theft, and that's as far as the blame goes. It's up to the EFCC to recover the funds if they choose to. Slinging insults at his family does no good. It is this kind of mentality that allows the Nigerian police to arrest and detain aged parents of suspects. And it's wrong! |
redsun:Absolutely wrong. You have no personal knowledge of the family members, so you cannot comment on them in any way. Every human being makes his own path and is responsible for his actions. But that's as far as it goes. Take a chill pill and relax, mon ami. |
DAMMMMMMITTTT!!! My 360 just RROD (Red Ringed) *dead* Gamine, now you know what to get me for xmas ![]() |
Gamine:Super Street Fighter IV,you mean. Train hard, little padawan. You were too easily crushed in SF4 the last time we played. ![]() |
redsun:No, he is not. and even if he was, are you now a marriage consultant with the best view on the optimal age difference between husband and wife? Comment about Bode George being a thief but have the decency to leave his family life out of this. |
In all things there must be balance. If we are to praise Soludo for his efforts in consolidation of the banking sector, should we not equally condemn him for his spectacular failure in committing billions of tax payers' monies in minting coins that no one ever used? Should we not also look critically at his role in the present banking crisis? Whatever your feelings about Sanusi's actions, the banks were showing signs of distress that Soludo deliberately ignored. Collusion or incompetence? You choose. |
redsun: Abuzola:The funny thing is you two are actually the idiots for not seeing that the entire article is a spoof by a mischievous fellow. I mean, it should have been painfully obvious after reading the first paragraph. |
Ujujoan:The Emeka offor crisis and godfatherism era? PDP. The Chris Ngige affair, with a party willingly admitting to have rigged an election (confirmed by the president, no less)? PDP. The 'Kidnap' of a state governor? PDP. The wanton arson, looting and brigandage in the state during the Ngige era? PDP. The party with a mere thug as a party chieftain and member of the BOT? PDP. The party with no issue with state funds being diverted to godfathers? PDP. The Party that conspired to illegally impeach Gov. Peter Obi for no reason whatsoever? PDP. It's clear then that most of the serious issues with Anambra state have to do with the PDP. Seeing as there is no indication that Soludo will bring any moral difference to the table (his being in cahoots with Anenih for one, plus the fact that he needs to make a deal with Uba are serious cause for concern) why would any true indigene of that state take any step to keep that party in power? The only revolution we can perpetrate in Nigeria would be to significantly weaken this monstrous entity that is the PDP in the general elections, and the sooner we started putting sentiments aside and voting out this party the better for us. I should hope that Akunyili's transformation has showed Nigerians the bitter truth; there are no saints in the PDP. |
Sagamite:So in your opinion, cheating should be tolerated just because we want to win something abi? |
Anyone from that state who plans to vote for Soludo needs to have his head examined. Period! |
I don't believe you bunch of whiners here. This has nothing to do with 'proper timing' or the fellow being patriotic. The million naira question is, is the skipper overaged or not? The refusal of Ogunjobi to refute the damning evidence of this guy's presence in the Sharks feeder team 7 years ago paints a clear picture. Soon i'll see you people in the politics section whining about our 'bad leaders'. Yet here you are casually condoning cheating and condemning a whistleblower simply because of your selfish interests. Nigerians! |
VALIDATOR:Well, an explanation may be that WAEC is typically taken exclusively by SS3 students of secondary schools, while anyone can get a NECO form and take the exam. It may just well be different sample spaces you're comparing. I agree with you, though. It's an abysmal result. |
My Starcomms works pretty well with windows 7. Hayprof, do a windows update that should fix your issues, |
He's running basic - No aero. Why is that? Even a GMA 900 can run Win 7 Aero. Hayprof, have you done windows update after the Win 7 install? |
here
Those are NOT the images the average lagosian sees and is exposed to. Why not show photos of the areas that 70% of lagosians live and work in? The only way change can come to Nigeria is if we accept that a great change is needed. |

SapeleGuy:Was there any point that Peter Ololo could not afford to buy lunch for himself? That means it's impossible for him to be owing N100 billion since he could eat and fuel his car happily, huh? Outward rosiness can mask inner rot. |
This is getting hilarious ![]() Sanusi comes out strong,. accusing the bank CEOs of running their banks aground and carrying out illegal and unethical acts and the CEO apologists insist that there is no proof and that Sanusi is merely airing his own opinion. These same people see no issue with taking a one-sided article from Guardian news (which being owned by the Ibrus is definitley going through some conflict of interest) and taking it as gospel truth. What position did you expect to hear from a 'shareholders' association? They insist Sanusi is not qualified for the position. What good did Soludo's qualifications do him and Nigeria when he wasted billions of tax payers' funds minting coins that went out of circulation one year after their introduction? |
Kindly read the editorial in today's vanguard. I read it in the papers today and i was perplexed at the journalist's transparent attempt to whitewash the fellow's thieving nature. Coming on the heels of accusations levelled at Vanguard of biased reporting on the Ibori trial, it seems that Vanguard may fast be assuming a reputation for defending crooks. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/10/31/oh-bode-george-the-inside-story-of-the-npa-contracts/ PS: The 'yellow envelope' title came from a comment posted by an incensed commenter on the topic ![]() |
Beaf:Can it be that i agree with Beaf for once? |
oyb:Could also increase when you update drivers. |
Duduknight:I concur. They're set in their ways and i'll only end up being flamed unmercifully. I'm out. |
oyb:@Canuck You described me down to a T. How the hell do you do it? I'm in awe, man ![]() |
NINETOFIVE:No, mate. Don't blame me for your daftness. NINETOFIVE:I'm honored. I thought you only reserved these words for your close family members? NINETOFIVE:Yes, there are holocaust memorials in Israel and Russia. And there's nothing wrong in remembering the sins of the past. The Holocaust and the massive civillian death toll in Russia are significant milestones in jewish and russian history. However, much of the hate people like you are channelling here are absent from the present day commemorations of those atrocities. As i said before, Germans are welcome in Israel and Russia today because they've allowed most of the hate to leach out and they have long realised the silliness of holding generations removed from the Nazis responsible for the WW2 atrocities. People have learnt to move on. Nairaland is not a museum or the preserve of one man or one school of thought. It's a public forum accessible to everyone, both young and old. Putting such gory photos there without a disclaimer is just plain stupid, and i struggle to understand why you cannot comprehend this simple fact. I am forced to blame your undoubtedly provincial mentality for this. Funny how none of you have seen fit to dispute the original poster's assertion of pre civil war 'holocaust' of Igbos in the West. Neither have any of you reparation-seeking people offered any reparation for the Igbo invasion and occupation of the Midwest in a war so often billed as a purely defensive affair. Keep wrapping yourself in hate. You'll die faster that way and the world will be rid of a retard sooner rather than later. |
Hey! Somebody do me!! |
naijaking1:Yet again you display your stunted IQ for all to see. Who is living in denial? All we want is a chance for the wounds of the past to heal, not to have a sore thrust in our faces even when many of us were not even alive to see this happen. It's good to remember the sins of the past and it's good to keep such in mind to ensure that that does not happen again. But that's as far as it goes. Do you see the Jews whipping out holocaust images at every UN meeting or press briefing? The lesson the Jews took from the Holocaust was to do everything in their power to ensure the safety and survival of their people. Had the Jews been like you and the OP, the Jews would perennially hate and blame ALL Germans. |
Nairaland has little or no political value. I find it amusing how people here are placing much importance on popularity and number of members. Nigeriavillagesquare is much small and less popular, yet has achieved more in the way of direct intervention that these misguided people here on NL. How can anyone talk about 'Political value' when 60% of the posts in the Politics section are intended to divide us among ethnic lines? |
Did i hear someone say Abia is better off than Delta state? That should be a matter of shame to anyone from Delta state if that is true (and i don't believe it!) |
