There's a full stop after 'Welcome to the world of computer, Internet, video, and board games'. That implies 'Xbox, PS2, Chess, whatever' is a subset of the previous statement. Climbing trees has nothing to do with the internet, video games, board games and computer games.

Being a Grammar Nazi isn't my style, but there's no point in doing the wrong thing. Next you'll see people posting pics of themselves skipping rope.

Iphone users. . . Anytime dudes talk ill 'bout ur phone. . U guys always go haywire, . . . . . I'd gladly love to know why that is. . . Texxaz. . . I nid answers from u. .
Because naturally human beings hate it when people talk boldly from a position of s hanignorance. 95% of the people who diss the iPhone have never used it or have never spent any reasonable time with the device.
FIne, it lacks some features found in other phones like Bluetooth file transfer and MMS support (natively). But it more than makes up for these omissions with quality features way ahead of the competition.
It's not hard to forget the lack of bluetooth transfer when the trade-off is a superb mobile browser and the best iPod in existence. As an all-in-one convergence device, the iPhone is supreme. When you cue in the excellent apps found on the iphone Appstore, then you'll get a superb phone.

As a gaming device, what other mobile phone touches the iPhone? Not even the Ngage.

I hardly think this qualifies as a 'Game'.

the description of this section is 'Welcome to the world of computer, Internet, video, and board games. Xbox, PS2, Chess, whatever'. It says nothing about Corps Members cavorting on trees.

@Poster
All the features yo mentioned are available to the first gen iPhone which is now over a year old. I fail to see how this is a new 'review' since you did not even touch on 3G or the A-GPS.
Reviews without photos are lame.

Add to the cons:
No b/tooth OBEX profile.
Agreed

zaibatsu:
No multitasking.
Anyone savvy enough to multitask can install 'Backgrounder' from Installer/Cydia to run apps in the background.

zaibatsu:
Ridiculous price (but then Apple fans are a tad masochistic in that respect).
Compared to the $800+ N96 and HTC TyTN II, it's not stand-out expensive.

zaibatsu:
Oh, did i mention that it's carrier locked in your own best interest.
Both the 3G and the 1st Gen iPhones are unlockable and can be used worldwide. How is carrier lock a flaw in a phone?

zaibatsu:
Steve Jobs could wrap a turd and sell it to his fans as a piece of moon rock!
Funny thing is, this 'turd' comment is usually used by people who have never used an iPhone before.

I've always considered you an slowpoke. Thanks for confirming that view.

There's no justification whatsoever for millitary personnel to use physical violence on a member of the public. Can someone point to any Road safety act that commands Nigerian drivers to speedily move out of the way of millitary convoys driving against traffic?

We need more cries of indignation, more upraised fists, more complaints before every Nigerian gets the respect due to him/her.

This tonye-t fellow seems quite naive.
The same Bible you use to terrify those that seek to question fraudulent men of God clearly states that 'by their fruits we shall know them' (Matt 7:20)
I don't know which church you attend, but real christians know that violence is not of the Lord. So this your 'Man of God' is a bloody fraudster!

Politics › Re: Sss Arrests Another Online Journalist by texazzpete(m): 7:46am On Nov 06, 2008
There you people go again, picking you battles with sensationalism in mind. There are people who have been rotting in Kirikiri on suspicion of stealing a chicken for 5 years without trial. People in jail for 2 years after being picked up for 'wandering'. There is the sad case of the gardener who was picked up because he was carrying a machete and therefore had to be an OPC member. People on death row for 10 years.

If you must spare sympathy for this rascal, at least stop being selective and go the whole nine yards instead of following the typical Nigerian ethos of gravitating towards the most high profile cases.

@Dis Guy
The Nigerian fighter and bomber corps obtained a reputation during the Liberian Civil war not for destroying strategic targets, but for bombing villages, civilian trucks and in at least one case, bombing a Red Cross facility to shreds.

As one bitter Red Cross official put it, "There was a big red cross on the roof. Who could have missed that?"
Foreign Affairs › Re: War Again In Congo? by texazzpete(m): 8:01am On Nov 05, 2008
When CNN reports on Zimbabwe and Congo, we complain they are always showing the bad side of Africa.

Question: How many times did NTA show what was happening in Congo before the international media started making a fuss over it? AIT? Channels TV?

The AU is a joke, this was has been on for a while now yet we have been blissfully unaware of the tragedy unfolding in our neighbourhood.

I think all panafricanists should hang their head in shame. It's not clear the rabble rousers only care about making political statments about 'colonialism' and 'slavery' and not about taking pro-active steps to challenge chaos in our continent.

Thanks to the Western media for doing what we should have been doing for ourselves.

The italian mafia is hardly celebrated. Everybody loves mafia movies as fiction, but no one would like a Mafioso in real life. Similarly we love vampire movies from Anne Rice, but we never want to meet such vampires in real life. And in far more media than you think, the mafia is painted as a mob of sadistic killers, thugs and criminals.
Bringing race into this is a pretty boneheaded move.

If your point is that any method of getting money is okay as long as 'our leaders steal from us', why do Nigerians still scorn armed robbers? Don't they qualify as 'hungry youths' too?

All of you guys saying that these yahoo or 419 guys are giving us bad name are quite correct.

However if you think they the only ones giving us a bad name then you are gravely mistaken.See all these report of official and political corruption and embezzelment that we are embarassed with everyday in nigeria do you honestly think outsiders do not know about this? All it takes is a click on the computer.
Look all you are seeing now is the manifestation of the corrupt tendencies of our rulers showing on the citizens and quite frankly from iam seeing among most of our youths is that this is simply going to get worse so simply brace up for it!
As long as it's kept within Nigeria, no one outside gives a damn. it's when we begin to project corruption that people start treating Nigerians as pariahs.

The average Nigerian is as corrupt as our leaders. There's not much difference between Abacha's theft and the ploy employed by the average Market woman of measuring rice and beans with the backside of the can. Or is there any difference between Etteh and the ministry officials that withhold teachers' salaries for 6 months just to accrue interest in their account?

We need draconian punishment for thieves in this country - just like China does!

if you look properly at my posts i don't insult people and don't like to be insulted, this forum is interractive enough fo learning not an avenue for insults and condemning each other. my candid advice is for you to watch your words. i am old and matured enough to know what to say and when to say, i also listen to good advices and constructive critism.

@ Agboola1, that's Texazzpete for you . . . ever ready to unleash the most deadly barrage of inflammatory and derogatory retorts, even in situations where a simple " I beg to differ. . ." would have sufficed.
After an extremely embarrasing episode at the Amsterdam airport (which involved me being temporarily detained for 1 hour) because of my nationality, I have had little tolerance for Nigerian Yahoo Boys and their sympathizers. My posting history shows that.

I cannot 'beg to differ' for issues where honest Nigerians like myself suffer for the greed of scumbags and their short sighted sympathizers who cannot see the long-term effect of this madness on our collective reputation.

As BigB1 happily reminds us, it was Barack Obama who said "Don't open any Email from Nigeria"
