on saturday my elder brother took me out to show me around portharcourt again as it happens that this way my second time being to PH smiley,so on our way back we saw something that really baffled me huh and i just kept asking myself can human beings be that wicked.
what i saw was some group of morners cry were morning the lost of their own, so in the bid of their display one okada man just rode pass them and suddenly, what i saw next was one of the morners taking a sharp cutlass and beheading the innocent okada man,and they all ranaway(morners).i was surprise and shocked by this horrific thing and i just said to myself that i will not go to PH anymore.

what i want to find out from people living there is this a normal practise in PH
First off, you're pretty silly tio post this in a section reserved for romance. Except for some morbid reason you find beheading to be romantic.
How the hell can beheadings on roads be a normal occurrence in a major city in Nigeria?

The only way you'll browse with your PSP is by WLAN. There's nothing in the PSP's firmware to support internet access via USB.

Why some people ask the dumbest questions, i'll never know.

PS: This has NOTHING to do with the 'Phones' section.
Computers › Microsoft Shows Off Windows 7! by texazzpete(op): 5:53pm On Oct 29, 2008
Microsoft yesterday showed off a pre-beta build of Windows 7, their next OS. Click on the following links for more info

http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=575&page=1
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20081028-first-look-at-windows-7.html

Initial impressions have been overwhelmingly impressive, with the company even showing off a build optimized to run on 1Ghz netbooks. The OS itself has been engineered to support Multitouch.

Pretty exciting news, this.

No doubt the iphone is an industry leader but the google phone is a worthy competitor. I've used both phones: the shape and slide pattern of the G1 certainly took away points from it.
But the Android operating system is the biggest point gainer for the G1. It's an open system, anyone can write programs on it. And it is considered more secure than the apples's OSX.
It's also cheap at $179 compared to the iphone's $300.
The graphic accelaration of the G1 also looks better than the iphone's.
It's a matter of choice but the G1 stands a points higher than the iphone in my books.
The Android OS is not considered more secure than the Apple OS, where did u get that idea from?
The G1 is $179 with contract, the iphone is $199. Please always report the right facts

Finally, the iphone has a FAR more powerful graphics capability than the G1, which lacks hardware accelerated 3D.

you're fallinginto the same trap many nigerians enter; never giving fifa a chance.

read all the reviews online. This year, fifa is the superior game. EA have been steadily improving FIFA while Konami has been kicking their heels, adding cosmetic changes and hyping useless features.

I'll end up buying PES 09 simply because that's what all my friends play. But Konami are off the mark.

I just bought the new G1(google phone) for $179 with a two year contract from T-mobile. Loving it all the way. The only major disappointment is the battery life. The internet connectivity is faster than the iphone's but i kind of like the iphone's design better. The Android platform on the G1 is way better than the apple platform on the iphone.
Any one got the phone yet?
lol
Both the iPhone and he G1 will be on par in terms of internet speed - both on wifi and an 3G. And at this stage all the reviewers unanimously agree that the Android OS still feels like a v1.0, beta software and it's not yet on par wih symbian or even apples Mobile OSX. It's a pity i get in these situations where i can be construed as an iphone fanboy, bu facts are facts.

Before you start masturbating, who told you it's MEND? Did the article mention MEND or did it say "suspected millitants" ?
If George Bush has to bear some responsibility for the current chaos in Iraq, then MEND that started the floodgate of kidnapping and killing must be held responsible for this kind of situation too. Besides MEND has in the past expressed support for criminals like Ateke Tom, so it's safe to say they are in complete sympathy with criminals.

The poster is telling us what we already know; there's no place in the world that's perfect.
The thing is, hardly any educated person believes the myth that streets overseas are paved with gold, so i wonder who his target audience here is.
Also it's one thing to report, it's another to use false images and lie just to make a point. What's up with the exaggeration? I've been to the UK repeatedly and his assertions that 'most' areas are like that are patently untrue.

There are far better ways to combat brain drain than a smear campaign.

While you sermonize about 'accountability and responsibility', note that our own journalists should also show responsibility and accountability too. In all of Nairaland i doubt there's anyone else as passionate about free speech as i am, yet i know junk journalism when i see it.

He was arrested by the SSS for reasons best known to them. Until we see the charges levelled against him, any attempt to rise to his defence is simply a knee jerk reaction. What if there's something he's really guilty of?

inquisitiv:

CNN or BBC? I thought that after the British Airways thingy some Nigerians formed an NGO to 'counter the abuse of Nigerians worldwide'. Or does it only matter when westerners are involved?
Politics › Re: Jonathen Elendu (Elendu Reports) Was Arrested by texazzpete(m): 6:56pm On Oct 23, 2008
I for one am glad this rascal is in trouble. This is a fellow who insisted that the Beechcraft disaster was a hoax, that he had credible information that the Plane was flown out with Ibori/Odili's loot. Do you know the kind of emotional trauma this might have cost the widow of the pilot, or the relations of the air hostess? Only for them to find the wreckage of the plane a short while ago.

His style of junk journalism must be condemned. It's one thing to run an underground news agency, it's another to spread falsehood.

Gaming › Re: Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 by texazzpete(m): 6:26pm On Oct 23, 2008
The truth is, we're no willing to face facts.

Konami lost the plot with Pro Evo Soccer. How is it possible for a company to churn out stunning graphics in Metal Gear solid 4, yet recycle the same old crap this year for PES? Minor visual upgrades, crappy crowds, same old awful music etc. In short, this blows.

It should still be a good game, but from reviews i've read, FIFA 09 should be the better game.
samosward:
I think FIFA has been the best game since 2007 but was a bit disappointed in the FIFA 08 edition on PC because the movement isn't has flexible has PES 08
FIFA 08 PC version was based on the PS2 version, not the next gen PS3 and 360 version. That was why it sucked. This year, EA did not make that mistake. FIFA 09 on PC will look and play exactly the same as on the PS3

So i made some of you angry with me. . .i expected that. But are these childish rants the only way you can express your frustration?
Look, it's quite clear that you're nowhere near my level. Your fear of any form of intelligent discourse is evident.

The site owner has made it quite clear that he's killing your 'free browsing' and 'prison break' threads. He doesn't want it on his site, period. There are hundreds of sites online that have made it their policy to prevent such links, so he's not doing anything odd here. He knows he runs the risk of losing your membership in this forum. Hurts your hearts that he doesn't seem to care about you, huh?

Jtlyrics:
u want to know de truf? ur contributions suckz!!! Ur bleeping biased. Damn ur silly azz!
You're right. I'm biased. I cannot understand why you do not realise that a simple google search will give you 50 sites that host these videos.

semid4lyfe:
D only reason u call prisonbreak a crappy show is because u're too dull 2 comprehend d story
There's a reason the show has gone from viewership rating of 12 million to only 5.3 million in the US. As far as storylines go, there's little or no complexity in Prison Break.

You have to understand that Nairaland is not an underground forum like some of the sites you mentioned.
EXACTLY!
This is not an underground forum site like some of the ones you guys have been mentioned. We need not turn Nairaland into dotsis. There are more than enough places to get these files from if you really want to. Why not google it up?

Threads and  topics like these have caused the demise of the 'phones' section. There's little or no attempt to tal about recent developments in the mobile phone world. Where's the talk about the HTC touch pro? Where's talk about new Nokia phones? Where's talk about sony ericcson? Why was the first post about the Nokia 5800 dated Oct 7th 2008, 2 days after the phone was released, even when there had already been internet hype about the device for months?

Where are user reviews and previews? At least someone here has bought an N96. What's your impression like? Where's technical talk about mobile video file formats and video bitrates?

It's hardly there. All you people can talk about is 'free browsing' and other silly topics. Instead here are complaints about Seun banning the proliferation of videos of a crappy show that's already on the wane.

PS: Prison Break et al are free to air on TV because of the adverts. The versions on sale on Apple iTunes and Amazon video store cost about $2 per episode. So it's piracy, pure and simple. And it isn't free.

You all will need to wake up. There is a huge cover up in the media regarding Obama. I wonder why many people are not seeing this.[/quote]If you really want to 'wonder'. . .
I wonder why the illogicality of this is lost on you. Obama has gone through a serious probe during the Democratic Primaries. Hillary Clinton did all she could to dig up dirt on him, yet nothing like this came out.
McCain's men have been searching for ages, no dice.

The man has two books written in which he details his early life pretty well. The statements there are easy to check out. Why has no one found anything incriminating?

Instead of reading websites like 'exposingliberallies', read his books and the books people have written about him and make your conclusion.

ACORN enjoys a better working relationship with the Democratic party, true. But that in no way points to any fraud on Obama's part.

I really don't think the 5800 ranks anywhere near the iPhone in terms of looks and 'effizy'.

As Neoteny/Ex Inferis said, it's a nice phone. I plan to get it too as it represents excellent value for money at only 279 euros (approx N48000).
Nokia plans to release touchscreen N-series phones, so those will appeal to 'premium' users too, while adding enterprise features.

Meanwhile, early user reviews of the N96 lament an abysmal battery life, freezes and sluggish OS. Those should be fixed by firmware upgrades, but most UK users surveyed do not see much improvement over the N95 8GB.
