The FGN never intended to suspend SGF Lawal but because they planned to suspend NIA boss Oke, it will seem improper and ethnicity warlords will not take it that's why he was suspended too.

You may recall that when the Senator Shehu Sani-led Senate committee indicted the SGF and resolved that he should be investigated, the presidency wrote back to the Senate clearing SGF Lawal.
