If she takes up the entertainment role, it is an act of courtesy not an entitlement. In this case, she refused to partake in that and her decision should be respected.

The next register will be out by October, so the earlier the better. Request for a recommendation letter from them if it is possible especially for this surgery. Even if they cannot pay for the surgery now, she will need chemotherapy, other investigations and radiotherapy which NHIS covers.
