I live in London, Ontario which is mostly white.
When in London I always make sure I greet every single black I meet.
However, when I am in Toronto or Montreal, I just ignore black people given they are too many. In other words, you are most likely to be ignored by black in big cities.

Now talking about the man who snubbed you in your daughter's school and then became chatty with a white lady, maybe they knew one another. Maybe he has a crush on the white lady.

I don't see why not. People do that all the time. However, if you are driving it may take you 2 to 3 days to go from Toronto to Calgary. You will have to stop at motels or hotels for rest.
If you take the bus then you don't have to worry about stopping at hotels for rest.

I didn't know new immigrants qualify for government assistance to live in a shelter. They will make you pay pay every single kobo back to the government if they ever find out you was staying in a shelter as new immigrants.
I believe you have to be in Canada for a certain time to qualify for public assistance or welfare.

Not really. Nairaland is a pastime for those of us on nairaland. And the population figures of membership are exaggerated because the regular nairalander has 2 accounts while the professionals have at least five.

I would say the average Nigerian does not know Nairaland. At most the name will sound familiar for those who are online a lot.

Good detective work Tojued. I have just realize that as of today's nairaland has 2,114,315 members. But the real figure can be less than a million given the reasons elaborated in your post.
Nigeria has close to 200 millions people. Therefore, the membership on here is just a drop in the ocean when we compare it to the entire population of Nigeria. Less than 0.5%. It makes sense now why every single Nigerian I have met never heard of Nairaland.

When I first discovered this site, I remember the very first Nigerian I asked if he knew of nairaland was a banker at TD . He was in Canada on student visa. He never heard of nairaland but wrote the link on a paper and told me he would check the site later. This was back in 2010. From that point each time I would meet a Nigerian I would ask if they know Nairaland.

It may be very difficult for members of this forum to determine why your visa was declined.
You have posted a transcript but the transcript is only a fraction of many factors visa officers take into consideration to issue a visa.
Things we dont know are your demeanor during the interview, we also don't know if there is a red flag on your file ...

You may have a great transcript but we don't have all the elements of your application.

3. You should never use an agent. You may end up with a lifetime ban. Agents have screwed the lives of many people. They may put incorrect info on your application that you may not remember when you apply for another visa in the future. You may end up putting information on future visa applications that will contradict information submitted on previous applications. Thus, a lifetime ban

4. There is no set of documents required for a visit visa except your international passport and your visa application.

Correct. Just as some people tend to say anything as to why a the visa was denied even though a transcript posted on Nairaland is only a slice of all the facts used by a vo to make a decision.
As I have said earlier, anything anyone can said on here is just speculation. Only the vo knows why the Visa was declined

I know a family of 4 that spent $3,000 for 7 days at Disneyland.

Sorry to hear about that.
I always said that people on here can only play the guessing game as to why a visa was denied. It could be for any reason including things your transcript doesn't reveal such as your tone of voice, your eyes, your file on the vo's computer, the vo's mood and so on. Remember what vo's have a broad discretion to grant or denied someone visa. Just as anyone can't predict someone chance of getting the visa, I dont think anyone can truly say why yours was denied.

There is no particular set of documents required for the US visa except your international passport.

Don't be nervous. If you don't are not approved tomorrow, there is always a second, third, fourth, fifth .... chance. Don't treat the US visa as a do or die thing

You are the one traveling and should be able to answer that question based on your circumstances.

Perhaps the weather at your chosen destination is at its best six months after the wedding. Maybe you've taken so much time off work for wedding planning you can't take any more until next year, or your job is seasonal so you can't really take two weeks right after your wedding
