But you posted the same thing in the NNPC GT/EH post as @electofc

Swagsultan1:
Hi everyone! My bro got into nnpc with a second class lower degree and no M.sc (through connect of course). Please I want to know if there's any chance he might get screened out later in the future? Also, is it possible for me to get ncdmb with a second class lower degree and not have any problems later?

[quote Re: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by electof: 9:39am On Feb 15
" I didn't apply, my bro didn't apply nnpc too! He only got appointment letter August last year.
Yeah the connect is still alive. Everything has been fine for him so far. I'm only asking if there will be any screening on the long run to check people's class of degree since a particular class of degree was specified as minimum requirement during applications"

According to this, the guy has second class lower without MSc.
Integrity and tape are everywhere. Yet, someone got the job in August.

This guy should just release the EH list and stop the TAPE shouts.

You are the one of those he deceived.
His last week of January and First week of February failed. It was pure guess work and don’t forget he’s got a blog wink. I even told you guys that nothing would happen before February 14th. Ya all were praising Jarus and insulting me. When his predictions failed, he couldn’t hide his face in shame.
He has nothing to drop with regards to EH. Ya all should wait including the remaining lucky GTs to be called.

Pls Mr. Jarus, can you share with us what actually happened last time?

Firstly he gave a coded info to the house and it blew so fast that everybody in the towers heard it including the "informee" which caused him a lot of distress and mistrust. Then again he told the house a first hand info that GT's APL will be released in short while but one Teddy X and a few other naysayers called him a deceiver and looking for cheap popularity. One thing I really like Nigerians is that we forget things so easily grin

[s]All the contract staff came in tru d back door[/s] .So if NNPC will sit down and be having pity for them over us that pass tru d normal procedures mean something is wrong .Moreover most of them are management relatives and friends why won't they fight for them .

Not really. They have the same qualifications that we have, just that they do occupy positions that allow the cooperation to move. They are a key part of the business. However the right thing that most companies do, is for them to do the normal recruitment procedures like ithers and be given preference to fill in qualified positions. The good side of this, is that less money is spent on training them, but the downside of this, is that they hardly bring in innovations. That's the reasons why new guys are brought in to bring in fresh blood and ideas and change the way things are done

Hey guys, spoke to a Mgt staff concerning EH and conversion of backup staff. He said the issue of conversion of backup up staff is being considered but many of them do not have the necessary qualifications to be placed within SS1-SS6 roles as specified in certain requirements for meeting these roles in Nnpc's conditions of service and also it will be unfair for full staff whom have worked for a long time to get usurped in hierarchy.
The plan is to fix few of them on JS role with a caveat (Could be assessment or getting a better qualification within a time period)

Good one sir. we will need more info like this

He got, but I didnt get though. Happy for him considering his state. You can imagine that the guy was even feeling bad for me. I told him I am quite resilient and will move on. To be honest i tried my best to contain my pain on missing this job. Couldnt even login yesterday as looking though the thread fills my heart with much sorrow. But I am recovering very fast...

Tbh, this recruitment had some merit i must say. I can only imagine what would be the look on my friend's uncles faces that were mocking him

Cheer up boss. It gets better from here. Your friends story should encourage you to take charge of your life and create your own wealth. When life throws us lemons, na to begin make lemonade. Your day will come. Your glory will shine. You will make it happen. Maximum respect

Bro if u hear some people's case eh.., nigeria is just so fvcked up. My friend just turned 29. He has not had any job since he finished nysc at 25years and has been managing to teach home lessons to sustain himself. He cannot apply for gt roles now because most require one to be at most 25 or 26years old, neither can he apply for experienced hire because he has no relevant experience. He is stuck in the middle. He overheard his uncles mocking his dad for wasting his money in sending him to a private school with nothing to show for it. The dude drank sniper recenly but didn't die. I am now housing him and hoping good fortune from nnpc will smile on him. The guy is a academically ok. Graduated with cgpa of 3.78.
This has got to be my highest point of this NNPC recruitment and of this forum. That this guy got the APL is testament that life may not be fair, but is truky beautiful. Another thing is that suicide is never the answer, theres always sth more beautiful ahead if we hold on. Congrats to y'all jare.

There's an art of directly making money, which we most probably have left for the sales department/C.E.Os, i think it's something everyone should involve in. Education gives you exposure and network. That's an edge. "Nobody said you can/should only make money via a paid employment. There's something about our education that is trappy, creativity is flogged out gradually in schools that we barely think of going solo(side hustle) you get better marks when you use the lecturer's words, like robots weve been programmed to only think of paid employments, i was at computer village Ikeja recently and i saw businesses doing well,i said to myself this is not by Bsc or HND. Neither are graduates forbidden to take this route.

Flesh and blood did not reveal this to u

The electrical engineer in your class that decides to be an "electrician", learns from an artisan electrician for a few months and , starts doing wiring for people by hinself is already an artisan and give him a few years, he'll employ you tongue

So once again I ask "why did we leave artisan jobs for non graduates?"

Lol, you can try harder. Didn't you read the part where he said, a graduate should be an artist among artisans?
If I want to be artisan, why am I in classroom? It is people like you that believe what most Nigerian graduates learn only is English speaking.

Who is a graduate?

Graduates (Engineers) research, design, test and build everything from machinery to electrical devices.

Technicians often help engineers with the research and testing of new products or upgrades to old systems.

Artisans are craftspeople who might work with one of a variety of mediums, such as wood, metals or glass.
Below is a comparison of some careers from each field.

Job Title Education Requirements Median Salary (2016)
Graduates (Engineers): Bachelor's Degree $89,210
Technicians:Associate's Degree $58,480
Artisans: High School Diploma, Apprenticeship $31,180
Source: *U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

From the above, why should a person trained to research, design, build and test machines, be working with woods and metals, the role a Secondary school leaver is fit for?

Because Nigeria has failed us, doesn't mean we shouldn't see things right.

You still fail to see the bigger picture: artisans dont need salary, they dont need be to paid 12x a year (chew on that)
And from ur US bureau of statistics brouhaha u quoted, I ask once again how many of such jobs exists in Nigeria for graduates: not everybody will get the limited jobs. Good reasons we should not be deceived that going to school is the only way to become rich, as we were told back then. If u dont understand this, I cant help u

But there's everything wrong in a graduate being an artisan. Graduate should be an Artist among Artisans.

There's a reason a graduate of Building or Civil Engineering don't go the route of a Bricklayer or Excavator Driver, during his course of learning in the university, yet he leads on site, and do his job to satisfaction.

Human beings are designed or wired to complain, even the rich complains.

No wonder ur nickname is jobseeker grin grin grin
You've probably neither never read books on these subjects (try and read: "global brands: how they made it"wink nor ever been employed only to find out your salary is just a bribe to mk u forget your destiny

One advice though: very very few jobs will ever make u financially stable (even this nnpc salary no go do u after a few years) - learn a trade, it will help u

It's well...

We all have our stories to share and trust me,Nigeria is set up to make her citizens fail..

Like we start our lives at a level of -5,while Americans start at level 0...

Some people have fought and fought to break even but Nigeria always want to find a way to screw us all..

My advice to every folk here, get any manageable job or business to do and save up some money and flee this cursed country to give yourself a fair chance to BECOME SOMEONE IN LIFE...

The truth of the matter is this "education in Nigeria" issa big scam: No matter how brilliant u are, out of every 100 graduates, only about 15 will get "good jobs". The rest will scout for jobs until they get depressed. Its the way of life. 48,000+/batch of graduates pass out of NYSC 3x a year, NNPC, SHELL, MOBIL, BELEMA, TOTAL all IOC and Govt agencies will scarcely take a total of 10,000 yearly, so what will the rest do?
The solution is simple: tell your younger ones and kids: education is a mirage: learn a life skill, dont leave carpentary, electrician, plumbing (artisan jobs) for "illiterates". You can be a cook or a tailor and make it in life *drops mic*

But how can someone succeed in doing nothing? Just wondering if you could explain.

To succeed in doing nothing is staying in your comfort zone, not making attempts to change your story whilst telling people that they will fail in doing what they are doing. A clear example of succeeding in doing nothing is Mr "NNPC is only for politicians children, so I won't bother applying"

They always discourage you from believing and trying novel things.

"What NANS should face now is to study very hard and graduate and make a reasonable degree. They have not graduated yet and they are looking for employment,’’ he said"

who else saw this?

Meanwhile, the funny thing about law is that even the basest things is subject to interpretation. One lawyer would inteprate it as a suspension pending the Oct 29th hearing, another would opine that it means continue your recruitment unless the hearing by Oct 29th says otherwise. I think the former appeals to my senses

Here's my pick on the AB and the 1% theory.

For EH: it's possible they picked the positions with the highest grades that qualified also for the FCC quota, paid them, and then paid the rest that didn't qualify. Eg for AUDITOR role, 400 EH did interviews across all states.3 slots needed, they select the highest 3 from different states, and pay all 400 including the 3, cos there's no further need.

For GT, take all the lowest guys that didn't meet a certain cut off, and take the highest scoring from each state and pay off this set.

The remaining ones will be subject to further scrutiny

This way, if you're paid you're either too good or too bad... so nobody knows his fate yet still

Aside.

@Jarus and other economists in the house. Something that has been bothering my mind.

In the current market conditions of Nigeria nowadays, is it better to play in the premium segment or mass market?

I mean, some brands play premium (their earnings model is based on higher brand value and higher GM - gross margin e.g Cocacola, Pampers), while others play to the volume (lower GM, but higher volume e.g. indomie, molfix, Bigi Cola)

What's your take on this guys? (Sorry I'm putting it on this thread)

It depends on what you want to achieve with your pricing: if its market penetration - in this case you stick to mass marketing and channel your value chain to reduce cost of production and give low prices - like what Tecno and Infinix phones are doing; Coversely , if youwant to reach the target market values quality over quantity, you channel your value chain to increaseing premium values at a more expensive price - what Apple is doing is a good example. You can read up Porters Value chain.

Have you asked your self why no matter what happens: a Skoda CAN NEVER be more expensive than a Rolls Royce grin
