and now my case is one of penny wise, pound foolish!!

In a bid to cut cost because the price of panel mounting kit was too expensive, I had to opt for Locally welded suport but the installer messed things up by nailing to the gutter of the roofing sheets.

my roof has been leaking ever since & I planned to change them during the dry season. My hurdle was how to inform the landlord who stays in same compound with me (a man who sought several assuarances during installation that the roof wont leak)

Long story short, changed about 15 roofing sheets & the man said nothing should go up his roof again. Had to now use iron wood as support (metal was just to expensive). Couldn't choose other location cos of cabling distance & shade.

You dont just move accident victims around. Thats why you see paramedics strapping a belt round the victims to stretchers most times. Most of the death that result from accidents most times is coz of how the victims were handled.

I dont blame the guy for using wheelbarrow to help him coz thats just a basic instinct. I blame the govt rather for dragging us backward.

Bill doesn't become a law until it's finally accented by the PRESIDENT. So this bill is in the same category with that Peace Corp bill. Meaning no change what so ever will affect the agencies just because the Senate have passed a bill concerning it.
Also don't forget this is a massive recruitment of about 100 personnel. The agency needs them for carrying out their activities successfully.

2x2, 20amps (well maybe 4 now daz wot u want), 16mm are splendid. Also ur ba3 @ rest 13v is nice.

About 2 AH indicated by cc means ur ba3 are floating & do not need to draw more harvest from ur PVs.

On ur inverter, I think it is back feeding itself due to ur faulty sockets. Remember u said it comes on wen switched off if u slightly insert loads.
But a crude way to check of ur inverter is not back feeding is to remove output loads to ur DB & connect sometin like frezer to the back of the inverter for about 20mins, observe its performance & beeping. Ur will know if back feeding as affected it or a factory defect.

Don't u have appropraite breakers to cut off back feeding before being detected by ur inverter ?

Anyway I appeal to gurus in the house with similar teething problems to contribute.

1. You said 2x2, 20A

Was I suppose to go for a higher breaker rating? The max of my CC is 30A

I saw 50A breaker but I felt that will be useless there cos of my CC amp limit

the parameters for the panels are

Voc-43.2v
Isc-6.24A
Vmax-34.8v
Imax-4.9A

With a 2x2 config what Current will I be getting? Will it be more than or up to 20A?

Before the panels were taken up, the meter reading from the 4 panels were around 36v each.

2. On the issue of breaker to cutoff feedback, the only breaker i have is the ones in the DB

So far, 2 sockets doesn't trip the inverter

issues 3 and 4, are most likely house wiring issues, you need a smart electrician to trace and rectify.
issue 1, is inverter based, post your inverter make so people with similar inverter will talk more
as per your charging issue, you need to state your cc make, so cc display in and out, so make sure you are looking at the correct display. 2ndly till u drain the batt, thats when we will be sure if anything is wrong with your cc or not

issue 2. thats how most inverters are designed, to charge even when off, if u dont want it to charge at all, you have to switvh off the ac socket or unplug

The inverter make is Kevin 1400va, 24v

CC make is epever A trader series 30A, 100V

There is a button on the CC that toggles btw Pv -Battery-load parameters

I have checked that of the Pv parameters, though Will study the manual more

Pictures will be very much later as I am not around for now

On the wiring issues, will have the electrician or another one do a thorough check, I engaged this one cos he did the initial wiring of the house & to prevent these issues was why i went for a dedicated DB

On the inverter being charged, my question is why is the inverter supplying when it's Off

The inverter is off & charging I get that part

Why are my appliances coming on even though the inverter is off? Are the appliances being powered from charging source or the battery

My system is up

2x2 config was done for the panel's

16mm flex cable was used from PV-CC-BATTERY

20amp DC breaker was used btw PV-CC

A new grounding was done for the panels & inverter DB. Each panel was linked with 2.5mm cable & connected to the new earth copper rod


My batteries are 200amp POWERSAFE batteries(fairly used though)

Upon reciept of the batteries, multimeter reading for each battery was 12.9v & 13.1v respectively

I finally opted for the balcony, though the setup is still a little bit crude, covered part of the protector with tapolin to prevent rain water


Haven't been around to monitor it but I know i haven't seen above 2A on my CC but i get as high as 78v

setup was done late Saturday, Sunday & Monday, cloudy days & i wasn't really around too

When the batterry was connected to CC, it was at 25v, later became 28.8v after setup on that Saturday, much much later though

Since the battery was almost charged, I don't know if that's why I'm getting low amps from the CC


Issues

1. My inverter gives out this sound every 7minutes with no indicator lights coming on

2. When I'm charging the inverter with NEPA even though the inverter is OFF, it still supplies, why is this ?

3. I have noticed this incident with 3 sockets in the house: when a load is connected to these sockets, when the switch is put on, the inverter trips, the short circuit/over load light will come on

I know it isn't overload cos what I plugged was phone charger, at another time it was a rechargeable fan, what could be wrong?

Once i put off the inverter and put it back on, evrything works well, even if u switch off that same socket off and on, it doesn't trip again

If the inverter is switched off for a long time & it's put on again, the same thing will happen again

4. One of the socket is the type that has a led indicator, if the switch is off & you plug ur appliance mid way, that light will come on
Is this a wiring issue or the socket is Bad or it's an inverter issue?

Remember the lighting points & sockets for inverter has its own DB different from NEPA DB

the panels i had on sale were a mix of poly and mono. i could have upped the price
for the mono but for personal reasons, i decided to give them all away same price.
when i posted the price and specs on this thread i neither indicated which type of
panels i was giving out only that it was 200w. if you say you are angry because i
sent you poly panels then its rather regrettable because you didn't specifically
indicate you were after mono panels. as for nameplate, i did promise to send you
details on watsapp which you agreed to. besides, the history of every single one of
my modules are replete on the pages of this thread like an open book for everyone
to read.

The efficiency of Mono Vs Poly isn't the issue here but was I believed I was buying, I felt I needed to know, it was my perogative to have that info & make a decision. I am sure the house can empathise with this feeling.

I refused to buy zeestones used panel when i discovered they were poly, so imgaine how i felt when i saw that these panels were Poly.

That being said, I guess the house can learn from this, No assumptions should be made when service or goods are being offered REGARDLESS of who is offerring them.

Seller should give all details & buyer should equally ask questions.

People buy things or do things for ONLY 2 reasons

It's very typical of Nigerian sellers to always assume what's important/necessary to the buyer which I believe it's wrong.

Everyone knows when it comes to panels, type in terms of Mono/poly & its ratings are key factors

It is also a known fact that most folks tend to go for mono or would love to go for Mono. So I believe that should always be stated clearly

On foreign classified Ad sites, on the average the seller takes time to give item description or a picture & states the condition whether its "As is" or not, i think we should all emulate that

Once more I brought this to the house to serve as a learning incident & not in any way to soil Mr GeorgeD1 reputation

I'm angry as I type this now & i want the house to be the judge

GeorgeD1 put up an ad for his panels for 30k, he stated he had SHARP and SUNTECH panels for sale 200w each, he equally stated that it was 1st come first serve basis

Immediately after his post I was first to indicate interest.


We spoke LAST WEEK and he told me he was not in town & that i should hold on with payment, that the panels will be RESERVED FOR ME.

SARTURDAY HE CALLED that he was in town & I promised to make payment on MONDAY which I did.

I paid for 4 panels including courier fee, the delivery date was Thursday/Friday which I agreed to.

Its worthwhile to mention that when the panels were put up for sale, the picture of the panels were MONO

When he later did a test on them using a multimeter, the pictures were also MONO

Imagine my disappointment when I went to pick my panel to see that they were POLY panels with no sticker or nameplate behind.

I am not happy at all. I called him, I couldn't really process what he was saying, background
Was noisy & i was really disappointed & down

It was when I got home to check the name plate, ALL 4 panels had no nameplate!

I called again & he promised to send a pic of rhe name plate from the initial installation


How do i know that these are really SHARP panels as I requested?

Shows you don’t have a problem (at least to me). However, I wonder why you can’t put inverter there?. If it is for security reason, I can reason with you. Solar devices are very expensive & attractive to undesirable elements, it’s when they are safe that you can enjoy 24hrs power.

I intend installing the CC up but if the battery is placed at ground level, it will be exposed to rain cos water gets there when it rains

Secondly, everyone entering my flat will see my setup at once which I don't quite like, then there is the issue of operating the inverter by coming out of the house

2. Epever 30a, 100v CC
3. 4×200w solar panels, acquired from our uncle in the house, GeorgeD1( yet to be received though)

I rewired the house & have a dedicated DB for the inverter

1. The max for my CC is 780w, can I use the 4 panels totalling 800w?

If yes what's my best way of connecting them?

2. If my CC Max rating is 30a, won't it be a problem if my CC is producing almost this on a constant basis because of my 800w setup

3.can I use normal 10mm cable or it's best I go for the amoured cable

Distance from panel to CC will be 7m

Distance from CC to battery will be 12m


These distances is a result of optimum position for the inverter & battery

The location of the CC in my balcony is safe from water but battery at ground level won't be

Should i work out a way to put the battery there, I can't put my inverter there

Meaning if my CC & battery is at Same location, my inverter will be inside the house 12m away from Battery

Option 2

Run cable straight from Pv to CC-battery-inverter all located inside the house, 19m

My only concern with this option is ventilation

So how do I go about this please
