Sports › Lionel Messi Choses Manchester City As The Club He Wants To Play For by ThierryJay(op): 6:49am On Aug 26, 2020
Lionel Messi has chosen Manchester City as the club he wants to play for according to @marcelobechler, the reporter that first broke the news about Neymar's transfer from Barcelona to PSG.

Eight clubs are believed to have expressed their interest in signing Messi who handed in a transfer request to Barcelona via fax on Tuesday. The clubs are Manchester City, Juventus, PSG, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

However, based on recent reports, Manchester City is Messi's preferred destination.

Femi don buy market with this his outburst. How many editorials and articles will he insult or reply with his "do you know who I am" rhetoric?

He has made a very big gaffe. You don't fight against the press without some sort of leverage. Even peeps that support him would be ashamed to stand with him publicly on this because his response was simply unjustifiable.

Watch how the press would shred him to bits in the coming days. The funny thing is he has no regional block to run to for cover as, for example, this article has subtly drawn people's attention to his publicized attacks against the North, South East and even the South West at various points in time.

Politics › Re: Senate Spits Fire, Flays Nta-startimes’ ‘unfruitful’ Partnership Of 12 Years by ThierryJay: 1:54pm On Aug 25, 2020
It's like most people are not aware of the implications of these revelations about Startimes.

What this means is that the supposed price-friendliness or cheapness that Startimes has been able to offer to Nigerians might be majorly due to the fact that they have not been paying for the annual broadcasting licence since their inception.

If they are compelled to pay for the licence as a result of this probe, then their prices might also be reviewed significantly upward.

This is bad news for those of us considering boycotting DSTV (due to yet another price increase from 1 September 2020) and switching to Startimes.

Nothing to do with the Southern Nigeria Bar Association (SNBA) Controlled by IPOB.
Alright, thanks for the context if true that it isn't a recent comment from him.

Even at that, his utterances are too unguarded. He should not have disrespected Yaradua and GEJ like that even if he was fighting with Shehu Sani. I used to like him, but it appears he is a loose cannon.

Is it that El-Rufai doesn't think? Someone that is complaining that NBA disrespected him, is he not also publicly disrespecting past presidents who are greater than him? What is bad in being in Otuoke? Is Obasanjo not residing peacefully in Ota, or wouldn't Buhari go back to Daura after his tenure ends?

This is a very thoughtless statement from El-Rufai.

If it had happened in a sane country, that guy would have been behind bars by now for sexual harassment. He is a douchebag
Yes I agree he is a douchebag and should probably be in jail.

However, the girl is also an airhead for not being sensitive of her local environment in her choice of wear. She should have known that it is stupid to expect that UK/US laws will be applied in computer village or mushin or even Yemen or Syria.

And learn to apply wisdom as well. The fact that they are advising someone to dress more decently does not mean they are exonerating the madman that sexually harassed her. Like someone already stated, the fact that you know that stealing is a crime punishable by imprisonment does not mean that you leave your house without locking your doors IN NIGERIA. The lesson is for ladies to minimize the chances that a madman will harass them.

So please stop reacting like a BOT on this issue with the same mantra.

RIP English.

By the way, if you read very well, Barca is not laying him off. It is Messi that is insisting that he is likely to leave, and SOME of the board members are saying if Messi insists, they would not oppose him. That is different from being asked to leave the club. Always try to comprehend issues well before commenting.

That's not my point cos unlike you I am not disputing Ronaldo's winning it 7 times. But the way you presented it was to widen the gap between the two which is mischievous and a slap on your face. And while Kaka may have won more UCL golden boot than Zidane or Ronaldinho, he will still be ranked lesser than those two players in greatness. So your UCL golden boots statistics cannot prove anything.

If you are going to be arguing based on falsehood, then whatever you are trying to prove will be lost in your deception. Except of course that you don't care, you just want to troll Messi, who will always be regarded as a better and greater player than your idol.

Lol, these CR7 fans are really getting ludicrous. It's now about CL exit goals grin. They keep inventing new irrelevant parameters to push their stupid narratives about CR7.

Except where the goal you score will make any difference, what's the point of scoring a "consolation goal" as they are now using to push CR7 above Messi. Why not focus on the goals scored that made a difference in the K.O stages. But they know that that will not align with their narrative of an incompetent Messi in the absence of Xavi and Iniesta.

Lol....you're really funny...same Pele that says Ronaldo is a better player....even his fellow Argentine maradona picks ronaldo....keep daydreaming.
If you are relying on Pele, you are on a long thing. It will interest you to know that the same Pele as recently as last year publicly stated that Messi is the most complete player in football today. Another time, he said he (Pele) and Messi were practically and technically at the SAME level. So just know that Pele has statements rating both Messi and CR7 as his preference at different times.

Maradona has never said CR7 was better than Messi. what he said was that they were as good as each other and that he wished CR7 was also Argentine.

Always know that your lies will be verified.

Going by your logic....that would have even been the reason why VVD should have won the price....giving that they went head to head and he Won..
Had Ronaldo won it,it would have been better...giving that he won three trophy with juventus and Portugal...
Messi winning the balor d hor is tantamount to daylight Robbery....
Bla Bla Bla, Messi was the BEST INDIVIDUAL PERFORMER in the league and the UCL that season, and the stats supported it. He was head and shoulders above VVD individually. That VVD's Liverpool won Barca does not mean VVD performed better than Messi over the two legs. This was what the voters saw and reasonably elected Messi to win. Uninformed you can go and snatch it away from Messi na.

Like I said, your comments are best fit for beer parlour gists in a community of jesters. When the renowned football community is making decisions like the Ballon D'or, your opinion becomes aptly irrelevant.

So your reasons for him winning the balor d hor is because they qualify for the semis...what of the team that won the tournament...typical messi fan...sentiment will always cloud their sense of reasoning.
You are the one oozing sentiments all over and still talking rubbish. Your ignorance is too much if you didn't know that Messi's performance against Liverpool in the first leg was a major determining factor in his Ballon D'Or win over Van Dijk. So if he had messed up against Man Utd at the QF, how would he have been in a pole position over VVD, given that he would have had a similar UCL performance to CR7 last year, while both won their respective leagues?

And why does it seem that most staunch CR7 fans are ignorant and illogical? I'm perplexed.

They want to troll Messi, yet they don't seem to know a legitimate reasonable way of doing that.

What's the point of progressing only to get rapped like that...history will always been kind to Ronaldo for trying his best to pull his team through...
As for messi and Barcelona 2020 will always be remembered for the annihilation they suffered in the hand of Bayern..grin
If you can reason like this, then I have nothing to discuss with you further.

For your comments are in conflict with sound reasoning. You are saying that Messi should have lost to Napoli to avoid Bayern humiliation, is that not an humiliation on its own also.

By your warped logic, Messi should also have lost against Man utd last season to avoid the 4-0 demolition at anfield. If he had done that, would he have won the Ballon D'or. What kind of thoughtless drivel is this that you are putting forward as a sane argument just to justify CR7?? If you were a journalist with France Football, please make that kind of comment in a football conference and see whether they would not disengage you with immediate alacrity.

Asour:
Ronaldo is a fantastic player but please tone down the narrative.

Technically madrid won the Supercopa de espana and so where not trophiless in 2008/2009.

Also the same madrid won the Laliga twice in the last 3 years and was going to welcome Kaka (the world's best 2 years earlier) in the same window.

You make it look like he came to a dying team.
From 2009 it took 4 years to land the first UCL title.

Football is a team game. You are painting heavily biased pictures with this narrative of "he came to save a dead madrid".

For instance, Isn't it funny that Robinho was at madrid for basically 3 seasons but then won the same number of Laliga titles as Ronaldo's 9 year stint there?

You conveniently ignored that madrid won the league (Laliga) 2 x consecutively before he came. And in 2009 2 of the previous year's balond'or winners would play in Madrid.

By the way Messi/Barca performed poorly this season so you don't think I think anything else.
Thank you Jare for a wonderful job shredding apart her fake analysis. I would have torn apart her very deceitful and thoughtless writeup in a very scathing way, but you've saved me the stress.

Imagine if Messi were to go to Man City and I were to say Messi left a Barca that had won the UCL four times within the last 14 years to a team that had never won the UCL and begin to make it look like he went there to save them. What hypocrisy!

By the way, only Messi's UCL performance this season was poor. Having 25 goals and 21 assists in the La liga cannot be considered poor by any standards. Though Barca's performance in the league as a team was below par.
