freshboi88:I think she meant Tatiana, the Angolan lady that had flat sagged breasts that Richard (winner) was always pulling at will. But Tatiana was in BBA Season 2, just like Ofunneka. It was Cherise that was in Season 1. |
proyeise:Oya remove the 5 penalties scored by Messi from 25 goals, you have 20 non penalty goals. Then remove the 2 penalties scored by Benzema, you have 19 non penalty goals. What were you saying again? Shey you know that by your comment, you've implied that penalties are more or less goals of easy virtue and do not carry the same importance as non-penalty goals in determining how good a player has been. And I quite agree with you on this. So if you remove 12 penalties from the 30 goals scored by a certain Serie A player, you'd have 18 non-penalty goals. Even Benzema has done better lol. |
Well this award is not the official La liga best player award from La Liga authority itself, so I'll pass on it. Waiting for the official award. If a real madrid player were to win it, It should be Ramos in my opinion. Messi remains the best and greatest individual player. 25 goals and 21 assists in his worst season since 2007 only serves to cement his lofty standards. No other player is held to a higher performance standard than Messi. What's below average for Messi is others' greatest. Imagine Messi's worst being better than Benzema's best. |
A wonderful piece coming from such a seasoned professional. However, as he rightly noted, it's much more difficult nowadays to achieve that kind of leap than in 1993. Reminds me of me a bit. I moved directly from being a primary school teacher into a big four multinational a few years ago. Meanwhile, I recently deactivated my LinkedIn premium account after being charged 30 USD every month without really doing much on it. Seeing Jarus put it to use is tempting me to reactivate, but when I consider the current hellish exchange rate, and seeing that I'm no blogger, I'll pass on it. |
Peppermintflav:Who's this Kayode you guys keep summoning at will? |
Lol, That squirrel is doomed if this were to have taken place in Nigeria. Omo, they will share testimony in church on top am sef, about how manna fell from heaven. Lalasticlala, I know this may not exactly be a snake, but it's almost as close to the earth as your favorite species. It deserves front page biko. |
RedPhoenix:Seeing that you've been properly schooled by others, there's no need for me to educate you anymore. Hopefully, that ignorant head of yours will not fall off from too much vigorous shaking ![]() |
Tokziby:You have a point. But I consider hyena's and dingos more dangerous as they have a stronger bite force (pound for pound) than wolves. Wild dogs have been proven to be the most successful in their hunting endeavours. While they and hyenas also have a higher nuisance index than wolves. |
Tokziby:Well, I can say the same for a Tiger, a jaguar and a grizzly/polar bear. They also do not have any predators in their ecosystem. So your claim restricting it to only a lion is inaccurate. And I quite agree with your second paragraph. |
pocohantas:Well, a king doesn't have to be the strongest person in the community. Anyways, I get your drift. |
pocohantas:If you checked my ranking, you'd notice I put the tiger and jaguar as more dangerous than the lion. It's just that Lions with their mane appear majestic and coupled with their confidence, this magnifies their strength and contributes to their regal status. |
pocohantas:My bad, you didn't get me. The "female of the species is more deadly than the male" part in my comment is a popular phrase/proverb used when circumstances warrant so. I only tried to relate it to what you were saying about male lions being deadbeat! |
pocohantas:Classic Poco! the female of the species is deadlier than the male. I would tend to agree with you about lions being generally overhyped. Personally, I prefer to rank each wild animal's strength/how dangerous based on how they would fare INDIVIDUALLY when faced with challenges/opposition and not what they achieve collectively. My individual ranking would go like this: Elephant>Rhino>Hippo> Bengal Tiger>African buffalo>Jaguar>Lion=Polar/Grizzly bear>crocodile>Leopard/panther>Cougar>Hyena>Wolf>Cheetah>Ocelot>Wild dog>jackals/fox and the rest Collectively, the winner would be wild dogs/dingos, then hyenas, lions, buffalos and wolves |
pocohantas:That's because male lions have a higher natural protective instinct of their pride especially against hyenas. The females mainly focus on fending for the pride. But Poco, I didn't you know you were an avid follower of the animal species. Nice to know you've got eclectic interests. On a lighter note, one of your earlier posts sounded like you were trying to defend female lion species as you are inclined to for human females. I was like "you don carry the mata enter animal domain shoo? ![]() |
paulolee:21st century - meaning from year 2000 downwards. |
RedPhoenix:It only includes active players from year 2000 downwards - The title refers to 21st century players |
RedPhoenix:Common guy, the list stated it's for the 21st century. That means it only includes players active from 2000 downwards. |
paulolee:I know of Beckham, Thierry Henry, and Alvaro Recoba. |
Omo, Thierry Henry sef na goat in his heydays o. Imagine combining the output of Kevin De Bruyne and Jamie Vardy/Salah all in a single player in the EPL! And he even did it in greater style than these guys. Congrats to Messi! |
CODEIN:Oh, so are you insinuating that the story put out by the NAF about her death isn't true? I remember reading another person's account on Nairaland who said she also stayed within the NAF base and stated that Tolu was run over by a friend. This was before the NAF's official story. I doubt it's a cover up. |
The stigma will forever stick with the so-called friend who accidentally killed this promising star. Whoever it is will be referred to as "the one who killed Nigeria's first female NAF pilot" I trust the person's identity to be revealed on Nairaland in the coming days. It might be unfortunate for the friend, but also reckless of him/her to run over someone you are already aware of and can see, to the extent that the person died. I can only imagine what the friend will be passing through right now, as he or she will be aware that everybody including the President of the country will be currently heaping the blame on him/her. RIP Tolulope |
What kind of trousers is Chidi Mokeme putting on for God's sake?? Even his jacket shirt combo looks tacky at best. Just ten years ago o, negodu |
Forget those figures o. What the OP posted is just the salary component of their total income. These guys' total annual earnings/income are typically over a billion Naira each year, when you bring in other Gbemu such as bonuses, incentives and investment income (dividends) into the equation. Many CEOs of top private multinationals also earn up to N500 - 800 million each year. However this typically includes all the perks and bonuses etc. |
sulasa07:Thanks for the clarification. |
TechDaddy:Hmm, this sounds believable. Thanks. |
NigeriaB:You make good points however it is misdirected, as if you read my post well, it was not disputing CR7's superiority to Messi in the area of penalties. Except you are saying that Messi's penalty prowess might be at par with CR7's if we adjust for timing differences in their careers. If that is the case, well then it's a possibility. But as of now, Ronaldo is intrinsically a better penalty taker than Messi. Messi takes more classy Panenka penalties though. |
Collinz2:When that "MIGHT" is closer to falsehood than fact. |
Dalil8:I agree, to football illiterates like you. Smarter people know otherwise. |
charlesm91:While I agree that Greizmann's goal was extraordinary, I would question the football sense of anyone saying Messi's two assists against Villareal were ordinary! First assist- chests down a long ball and juggles it over a player, goes into a trademark run and beats another player before laying it off perfectly for Suarez to curl home from 19 yards. How is that a routine assist by any standards? When last has CR7 provided that kind of quality assist? Second assist - draws players to himself during a run and then backheels the ball to Greizmann in space - How is a backheeled assist anything ordinary? See it getting more obvious that CR7 fans appear not to understand the rudiments/philosophy of great football and only watch matches on livescores. To them, Gerd Muller is greater than Ronaldo de Lima since he has scored way more number of goals with many trophies as well. |
Dalil8:No matter how much you over-exaggerate the importance of penalties, just know that CR7 can never be the GOAT on account of how good he is in penalties. Pele, Maradona, Ronaldo de lima, Cryuff's assessment as the very best players ever were never on the basis of how good they were at penalties. Pele's refused to take penalties cos he believed it was a gifted goal. I'm not saying scoring penalties is a crime, they are okay alright, but in the order of players' attributes and contributions, penalties are at the lowest rung of the football ladder. Many atimes, a wonderful assist carries greater weight than a penalty scored. For your information, despite having a two-year headstart, CR7 has a lesser number of non-penalty goals in his career than Messi has currently. I repeat, Messi has scored a higher number of non-penalty goals than CR7 as we speak. Go figure! And Messi would not have won the world cup if he had scored the penalty against Iceland. Also, he has scored all 5 of his penalties this season in La liga (100% conversion rate) so I don't know where you are getting the notion that he would win this season's la liga if he scored his penalties. In summary, your submissions are false, uninformed and disjointed at best. |
Karleb:That's false. So if CR7 took 114 penalties, how come he has scored 125 penalties? Note that Messi did not take a higher number of penalties than CR7. Of course CR7 is a better penalty taker, but that is not because Messi took a higher number of penalties than him. See the facts below as at today: Messi has scored 90 penalties out of 116 attempts CR7 has scored 125 penalties out of 149 attempts |
