Romance › Re: For Love Will You Marry A Jobless Man? by ThoniaSlim(f): 1:32am On Mar 01, 2010 |
The dudes calling ladies who responded earlier gold diggers. . .need to have their heads checked! Like Ohsisi asked would any of you wish a jobless man on your daughters? I bet No! but your wishing it upon other people's daughters. . . Yes there's a difference between a lazy jobless man and one who's jobless but has got prospects! (he's educated, intelligent and has got the zeal)! Its almost like saying a jobless man who isn't educated, who's got no prospects at all, makes no effort to look for a job, and is always looking for someone/something to blame for his situation rather than rising above it. . .then someone would expect me to marry this sort of man just to prove that I'm no gold digger? Well Thanks and NO thanks. . .but I'll pass! A jobless man brings a whole lot of issues in marriage and am not ready to deal with that. . .a good example for me is my maternal cousin who's a doctor in the US. She meets this young man who's uneducated but manages to make his way to the US. he was jobless and one of those immigrants that meddles in this and that to survive. . . she falls in love. . .he proposes and she decides to marry him against the wishes of her family. . . .after marriage things were smooth for the first few months till he starts to notice oh she's got a good job. . . it was so bad that even her pay check he would cease it. . .he keeps tabs on every single spending she does. . .he even stopped doing what ever he was meddling in to make some cash and was fully living off his wife. . .and what made it worse was he was even the one spending her paycheck lavishly. . . what finally broke the camel's back was when she was pregnant and he beat her. . .her dad returned her bride price back to his people and the marriage was dissolved. . .a restraining order was placed on him when he started stalking! So now some dude would tell me to marry this sort of man just to prove that love is blinded to a lot of things? My dad first wouldn't even allow me make such mistake if I'm too blinded by love! But its a different case if he lost his job while we were already married and is making efforts to look for a new one . .but if we aren't married and he's jobless? Heck NO! Get a job first no matter how small the pay check is and we can talk marriage! I do not need a lazy bum for a husband cus I do not intend to be one woman who sits at home waiting for her husband's pay check! So why should I want a lazy man who sits on his backside doing nothing but waiting for my paycheck? Heck NO! |

Romance › Re: For Love Will You Marry A Jobless Man? by ThoniaSlim(f): 10:34am On Feb 26, 2010 |
Any lady who says she'll be comfortable with a jobless man, is simply deceiving herself period! No matter the love she has for him!
Its a different case if you were married to him already and he lost his job. . .
A jobless man has got no business getting married. . .We are talking of a family here. . .With the present economy now the average family needs the income of two people to raise a child. . .
Men are known for their ego. . .no matter how supportive and understanding a wife is. . .most men (especially the NIGERIAN MAN) would not be comfortable with his wife being the sole bread winner of the family! |
Romance › Re: Ok What's Up With Married People Especially The Men? by ThoniaSlim(f): 9:46am On Feb 26, 2010 |
Spanishfly: Can you imagine this guy I met at the restaurant. He approached me and said he had noticed me before at my school and a gathering but never approached me. We exchanged numbers, went out on a date. He now told me he was married with kids (looked like a young single man though) but looking for someone for his younger brother. He doesn't want his younger brother to go out with foreigners, that he has noticed me for quite sometime, my behavior and wanted to confirm for himself. So I was like goodness, thank God I did not end up doing anything with him being that he's married.
1. He started calling me, to go out and all as a way of getting to know me better for his brother but I never saw the brother even when I asked him.
2. He came to my house one day and tried massaging my back, saying my shape is good and all that. I was uncomfortable,
3. even as far as him calling me and me saying I'm out, he would start acting all jealous like "Oh who is that person"?
Please what does these mean? Could he really have lied to me about his brother or what?
4. He sounded or sounds like a good married family man. 1. Meaning he told you he was married. . .and the calling went on for sometime! 2. You probably invited him to your house and even entertained him massaging your back even after you knew he was married! (A man doesn't just get up and massage your back without your permission. . .so you ENTERTAINED IT!) 3. You still kept on entertaining his call by picking it up even after your instincts must have told you that there was NO BROTHER! 4. He pulled these stunts and you still think he sounds like a GOOD MARRIED MAN? (You gotta be kidding me!) In conclusion. . .There's nothing innocent about inviting a married man to your house and allowing him massage your back. . .no matter how you try to paint it white. . .so puhleaseee cut the bull crap! Your as guilty as he is! |

Culture › Re: My View: Nigerian vs Carribbean Women by ThoniaSlim(f): 9:03am On Feb 23, 2010 |
MzDarkSkin: Well first and foremost let me introduce myself before I rant. Yes I am a newbie here. I actually found about this site while looking up relations between Africans (from the continent) and African descendants. Unfortunately I came across BULL. I've read posts about "why are nigerian men dating jamaican women?", "why dont nigerian men in the UK get along with Jamaican women?" I've seen some of the most pathetic posts about "Jamo women smoke weed (90 percent of them)", "Jamo women wear blue. black, lime green, yellow, blonde weave", "Jamo women will cut off your male anatomy" etc. Complete, utter RUBBISH. Let me just say I come here with NO disrespect intended, as I am a black woman therefore of the African vine that you all born on the land or to parents who were. I have dated African men and I adore them. I will also have you all know I am the product of a Jamaican mother and an African American father. What I read burned my soul because I was raised by a Jamaican women with so much dignity, respect and pride that it has rubbed off on me. The disrespect is MAJOR! I could not believe a people who claim to be the "super powers of Africa" and intelligent would say such vile, and disgusting stereotypical junk that has plaqued ALL black people. I do NOT appreciate the slander what so ever. I have NEVER worn blonde, lime green, pink, purple, blue, yellow etc weave, I do not find it cute nor will I ever. As for SOME of my Jamaican sisters? to each his own. Every orchard has its spoiled apples, Africans should know this first hand as African ppl are by far the most stereotyped humans on the planet.
Futhermore this issue between some of you rude and envious Nigerian women and Jamaican women is childish and pitiful. If a Nigerian MAN, not child, not boy but MAN, should decide that he will like to wed, bed or even get to know a Caribbean/Jamaican woman, so be it. This anomousity is rediculous. To the fool who claimed that 90 percent of my sisters smoked weed let me ask you this there are nearly 3.5 million Jamaican ppl on my island, to every man there is about 4 women, so let me ask you this "you really want me to believe that you have actually spoken to/met millions of Jamaican women to be sure that 90 percent of us smoke weed?" you are but a fool. You are ignorant and should be ashamed of yourself. Nigerian women who dislike us GET OVER YOURSELVES! Every African man I have dated has exclaimed/declared they will nolonger date African women because apparently you all are "dramatic and over the top not to mention loud". Sure SOME of you may be but I am woman enough to know that some do not speak for all, futhermore I am also woman enough to tell them that African woman birthed you so you cannot turn your back on them. I am a fair person and a proud college bound HARD WORKING Jamaican woman. If you want to know why is it Nigerian/African men like us, ask yourselves "what is wrong with us to make them stray?"; that statement alone by now has spawned fire inside of some of you because you are biased but I could careless.
The reason Africa and other black nations cannot thrive is foolishness such as this. This ethnocentric, tribalistic crap has despoiled us of years and chances of elevation generation after generation! Is My Jamaican blood enough to make me not a good choice for an African man? or is it my character that should be questioned? Ask yourself that. Someone said "isnt there other Caribbean women? why Jamos?" I guess as if to say we are the bottom of the pit and should be overlooked. Let me explain this clear so that I am not to repeat myself: Jamaican women are WOMEN. We are not extraterrestial beings we are not inbetween the sexes we are WOMEN; and like ALL women we range from mild mannered to extreme ignorance. Like ALL women you have (excuse my language) "Ladies" and "b.tches" (again pls excuse me). If you go to Trinidad same story. Barbados? same story. Colombia? Same. America? Same. Africa? You fill in the blank. We are more than worth it after all we are also of African descent which regardless of how you all feel connects us. The only division between us that should be evident is the Atlantic Ocean nothing more. Grow up and educate yourselves on the tribes that make up Jamaica: Igbo and Yoruba are among the many f.y.i.
To my Nigerian brothers and sisters who understand me, bless up and respect. I look forward to conversing with you all and getting to know Nigerian culture and history to all else grow up!, AND FAST. You were making sense. . .till you said that! Get over yourself. . .You know who you are and you shouldn't allow anyone dictate who you are. . .I must also add if you had as much confidence as you claim to have. . .dear you won't be ranting or getting your blood pressure up over what some faceless baboons behind a computer screen think! Just my two cents! |

eazyman: i'm getting lean everyday and could hardly eat or concentrate on my job because a girl i loved so much and sacrificed a lot for sold off an investment of about 700k which i opened for her, the following day which was val'z day she came to my house to drop a letter saying she is walking out of our two-year relationship. This february made us 2yrs in the relationship and i was even planning to get married to her but i found out she was deeply in love with her ex-date whom she told me she had nothing to do with him and was even planning to travel out, so when i confronted her, she denied this and the following week she sold off my investment without telling me and then wrote me a letter thaat she is working out of the relationship. If i didnt truly love her i wouldnt bother, i would just leave it that way, but because i truly loved her and she was just the only serious girl in my life , so its not been easy for me at all, though my friends have told me, you're a man with a good job working with an oil servicing firm, you can easily see better girls out there, but in reality its not easy to see true and genuine love. It really hurts but i'm still trying to think positively about life but sometimes i just feel like ending it all instead of suffering terribly emotionally. i dont know if i'll ever see someone who truly loves me . I feel so miserable now and i cant just figure out what to do again. its so hard for me concentrating on my job and even sleeping at night, my heart keeps pumpimg fast, i cant even eat, i'm really miserable, i was planning to get married next year, i just dont know where to start from again now. EAZYMAN (08035375493) Why are you all ALWAYS PLANNING to marry her after she messes up huh? Well Kpele. . .obviously it wasn't meant to be. . .so MOVE ON! |
