BeLookingIDIOT:Yes! Jews and Muslims don't eat pig. |
If not for their Judaism and Islam, a typical Christian would consider this a provision from God during this hunger promoting lockdown. |
The buildings are unoccupied. So with already poor HSE conditions in terms of faulty electrical installations that might have been left running while personnel is at home, there is no one available to intervene until it becomes a wildfire. |
Poor HSE conditions coupled with absence of personnel whose acts might have inadvertently prevented the ignition or arrest it at the early stages, is the cause of most fire incidents that have occurred during this lockdown. Was a sweep of such facilities done for potential harzards after personnel stopped going to work? |
jodeci:I get you perfectly now, the confusion is from the way the statement was poorly structured, such that it lost meaning. The "at Bori (Akwa Ibom/Rivers boundary)" shouldn't have been placed too far away from "intercepted the convoy". However, I insist that even with police convoy, there should have been waiver known to all parties, including the police at the border and the state government officials including the security that made the arrest. So how did they make it past the border without such waiver? |
jodeci:Actually, the news report wasn't that specific. In fact, the report kind of suggested they were head to a place that was close to the border with Akwa-Ibom, not that they were coming from the border. If indeed they travelled across the border that is heavily fortified by police, why were they allowed to come into the state without any waiver previously granted by the state government that put the police there? Or did they come in through the bush like smugglers? |
uruba23:Rivers State is not even on any Federal government mandated lockdown, and what the state government has declared is a state border lockdown. People are moving freely within the state, only slum markets and some type of public places (schools, cinemas, amusement parks, public swimming pools) have been closed. While most companies have had staff who can work from home stay back, those who must work within the office have continued to go to work. All supermarkets and shops are still open all the time, and all artisans are still busy doing their daily jobs. All commercial transportation are still very active. People are still going to work in Rivers state regardless of what sector their service is rendered. So it even has nothing to do with Oil and Gas exemption. I just think all of this is happening because some people either do not understand what directive they have received, or someone in the state government is power drunk. |
Rivers state is not even on a lockdown so people go to work daily, and what the state government declared is a restrictions of movement across the state boundary So why were they arrested? Did they cross the border from a neighbouring state into Rivers state? |
Sahara Reporters made it look like these were people who were suspected of having Corona virus (because they were exposed to a confirmed case or just returned from travel from an infected country). These people have not arrived from any foreign leave as the border has been closed for over 3 weeks. Meanwhile, these are just everyday Nigerians like you and I who are going back for their tour offshore to relieve those who have already finished theirs. They are only there because it is a condition that has been set by the industry stakeholders, prior to proceeding to the worksite. So most if not all IOCs ensure that for every personnel (staff and 3rd party contractors from service firms, even food catering staff) going offshore, said personnel must spend 14days under the watch of the client in a facility (hotel) that has been set up for that purpose. Those who live around the environment have nothing to fear as those lodged in the hotel are no more suspicious of having the virus as those who reside in the vicinity going about their daily business. |
Until Nigeria takes fraud as a crime that should be exterminated with extreme violence, the country will continue to be shamed. |
wisdomiskey:Whether boring or not, the reality is that the sane are acting while the insane are reacting. That situation is good enough for the survival of mankind. Imagine if it was the insane that were acting. |
wisdomiskey:That you and many protesting do not see the glaring idiocy in the above submission is enough reason for the government to ensure that the stupidity and selfishness of a deranged few, does not result in the total demise of mankind. |
Daboomb:You are another victim of poor comprehension. You are blissfully arrogant to think you know my thoughts better than have been clearly expressed. Can't you see I had already elevated the comparison from the poverty stricken job applicant who must ensure he even borrows money to conform to the dress code expected of him, to equating the President with the interviewer/panelist whom the job applicant has no right or audacity to berate for dressing however he pleases to conduct the interview. Your President is not your gateman to be dictating how he dresses, not to talk of comparing him to an interviewer who is not to be dictated to by the interviewee/applicant. If I may add, do you wear a shoe while sitting at a desk to participate in a Skype interview that is showing only the face/bust? So who is the President pleasing if he wore a shoe that only the cameraman and backstage staff can see as you have now seen in these backstage pictures and not during the actual broadcast when a podium covered the lower half of the President? |
Daboomb:Empty head! I meant what I wrote. Interviewer is not even at the level of the President, so if you can respect an interviewer as a poverty stricken applicant, and not question how the interviewer dresses, why then question the President's dressing? Summarily, the idiot was comparing Apples to Oranges by using an analogy of an applicant who has to be seen as conforming at an interview, as opposed to a President who owes no one an explanation as to how he dresses when he is the authority and not the applicant. But just like you, his traumatized soul must find a meaningless purpose in life, than have no purpose at all. So wail on. And putting on just a shoe becomes vanity to those who will scrutinize its brand, and tell us how many respirators could have been procured with the same money wasted on a Fulani whose kinsmen herdsmen walkabout without shoes. So we know already that there is a pandemic of hypocritical and "unpleasable" idiots all over the internet, looking for a reason to be more miserable. |
Imagine the concentration of corona virus that would have engulfed the remainder loaves in the vehicle? I think people need to be this hungry in the country to have the change from the kind of politicians and parties that greedily occupy our political space. Hunger may cause the revolution that will make PDP and APC politicians, cronies and apologists deny their own names and even the wealth they have criminally amassed. That day must surely come if Nigeria is to progress. |
VaselineCrew:How is company interview relevant to the President's broadcast? The President can dress as he likes just as the interview panelists can dress as they like. It is you the job seeking poverty stricken applicant that is mandated to borrow money to dress well for the interview. So yes we would not go for an interview with Slippers, neither will we be so foolish to berate the interviewer for dressing as he likes when that is not our business at the interview, nor is it our place to start showing our intolerance as job seekers. Was the broadcast even showing his leg, or this is just a behind the scene pictures? So was he suppose to wear a shoe to please the cameraman if the public would not even see it in the broadcast because the podium would be rightly blocking out the lower half of the President? If he wore a shoe, will your wickedly wailing heart not lament that the President is displaying vanity when Nigerians are dying? If I may add, do you wear a shoe while sitting at a desk to participate in a Skype interview that is showing only your face/bust on the computer screen of your interviewer? So who is the President pleasing if he wore a shoe that only the cameraman and backstage staff can see as you have now seen in these backstage pictures and not during the actual broadcast when a podium covered the lower half of the President? |
anonymuz:What is silly about his rational argument? Are you an illiterate? Or are you unhappy about those who would be positively affected by such stipend arrears payment? Or you only love bad news? |
Simplyleo:You seem to have forgotten that some lazy youths are too mentally incapacitated to spew anything new or cumbersome as their retort to government aligned information. From his lazy statement, one would have thought 14th of April was last week, and nobody got paid. |
Has the OP pointed out anything intelligent or has he revealed anything that is worthy of note? When hatred is deep rooted in the DNA, you begin to hallucinate and see whatever you desire to see. OP needs rehabilitation. |
Some have swallowed their words over and over on this identity matter of this national hero. This should make us reconsider our objectivity over such issues where our respective prejudice spirals out of control. |
How many times will he and the military top brass relocate to the NorthEast? Or why depart from the previous relocations when total victory had not been achieved? Are they just waking up to their responsibilities? |
When the going was good, they travel abroad without telling us, in search for a sane society and good healthcare. When everything crumbles abroad, they publicly announce their love for Nigeria and beg to be returned to their motherland, as the reality hits them that despite their big man status in Nigeria, they are just discriminated passport holders in their adopted country. Nobody has any regard for them there. No one to call them "Oga!". |
But these politicians referenced do not qualify with the criteria already detailed by the same news outlet. This is just media sensationalism. |
Commanderinpips:They took the lying and thieving government to court because the same Federal Government of Jonathan was illegally making withdrawals from the said account without the approval of the FAAC that had the state Finance Commissoners as members and joint approvers. Okonjo-Iweala denied numerously that the FG was making such withdrawals, but the persistence and tenacity of Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state was rewarded when the same Okonjo-Iweala finally admitted to the fraud she perpetrated by making such withdrawals without the requisite approvals. Beside, that is just the Excess Crudeoil Account ECA. What about the failure to save an extra cent on what the previous regime of OBJ and Yar'Adua handed over to Jonathan, despite that Jonathan presided over a period of increased oil revenue? Were OBJ and Yar'Adua stupid to have built on what they inherited? Was it the State Governors that presided over the drawing of the federal budget that did not plan any savings from all the oil revenue? Let's call a spade a spade. She was there to preside over the pillaging of our commonwealth, rather than resign, she sat comfortably wailing about an upcoming recession while occupying the very seat that was to prevent such. |
Trulie:Why did she not resign if she knew the government she worked for was not inclined to save and was very passive towards fighting against corruption? |
Munzy14:How was she neglected by her country when she served as Finance Minister 2ce and as Foreign Minister at the end of her 1st tenure in Finance? Or is the role of Minister the eternal birthright of anyone? Do you understand the meaning of neglect? |
The Finance Minister who did not save a cent from the Oil windfall from 2010 to 2014 when a barrel of oil was over $100/barrel. Rather, the Excess Crudeoil Account was ran down from $20b to $2b, and foreign reserve ran down from $47b to $29b. Also ensuring to borrow more money at a time we should have been saving more than what OBJ and Yar'Adua were able to save during less buoyant economic period. And just 9months after the Crude Oil price began dipping from $100/barrel towards $50/barrel, she shamelessly admitted that the Jonathan led Federal Government had already borrowed N470b ($2.5b as at that time) to pay salaries of federal civil servants for February, March, and April 2015. All she had to her credit was warning that a recession was coming, forgetting she was in the driving seat to make a change as the Finance Minister and coordinating Minister of the economic team that failed the nation. What a shame! |
Tetrahedron:To spend the money while on a lockdown? |
