I just checked that now.
Could that be an error from the Bank.
Cos I actually collected it From the Account officer .
How much is the balance left. That can't be an error

Goodness! Time2Win. I did not look the figure well o. I actually took the total credit for N406 million. Thank you for this. Am I to believe the total credit is N406,689,020 for the six month period?? If yes, then I was right with my assessment of the cause of his refusal.
He thought the huge inflow will cover for the insufficient funds. It doesn't work that way. His deficit is 8.8m and he is presenting Statement of account with less than 5m in it. That's the reason for the refusal.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Time2win(m): 12:04am On Jun 12, 2019
Pefuele:
N8.8m(approx) to the nearest tenths
For the details you posted above, you have N4,961,644 as balance and it clearly shows you don't have enough money in the account.

Pefuele:
Total credit:N406,689,020
Total debit:N401,727,376.41
This is for the last six months .
Account has 25pages.
Account was busy with inflow and outflow.
What's the deficit on your i20? For this details you posted, you have N4,961,644 as balance and it clearly shows you don't have enough money in the account. Highest scholarship giving by University of new haven is 50% and deficit is 22,405$ unless you were given provost assistanship.

Sorry for barging in, don't even bother to use UPS, they experience delay all the time, mine was delayed for 1 week. If you don't want heartbreak, just use DHL. Or FedEx. All the best
Yeah, UPS has been disappointing lately. DHL or FedEx remains the best option for now.

Spot on. Talked with one earlier today. Approved in 5 minutes. Keep up the good work boss.
Almost all interviews don't last more than 5mins. Whether funded or not. Though 1mins looks like 5mins there.

This isn't true. She read through my i-20 and letter thoroughly. Infact I became bore during the process and my reflex action of drumming with my fingers slightly set in.
You saying it isn't true, were you the one reading it to know what he or she read.

The V.O knows what he/she saw. Many people with full funding went for their interview without any Statement of Account and were approved. If it's needed, they will ask you to send it. If you have any, carry it along. If you don't, don't bother yourself. Just attend your interview.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Time2win(m): 10:54am On Jun 11, 2019
omohakin:
Please try and go with it. I had a similar situation. No deficit on my i-20 but the VO requested for the confirmation of my funding. Which I presented. she read through line by line and saw where I was asked to pay 1k USD for a semester. Although the letter also indicates this fund can be deducted from my pay installmentally but still the VO asked if I have any financial statement for this purpose. I feel itz better to present a financial statement in such a situation. This shows despite being funded, you still have something at your disposal.
Your case was different. The V.O didn't have time to digest your letter well and capitalized on the 1k$ he/she saw. Most times, they don't ask for the letter. Worst case, they will ask you to send your Statement of Account via DHL if they really need it after seeing your full funding and you didn't come with one.

Thank you!
I needed that clarification.
Latest 6 months is not specific.

It is better to go with an SOA closing in the month of interview but that doesn't mean going with one ending
1-3 months before the interview is invalid.
One month difference is still okay, but anything outside that, it's not advisable. The essence is to have hassle free interview. Some V.O might accept those printed two to 3months earlier, some might not. The right thing to do is to go with the latest, that's one printed few days or few weeks to your interview.

Preferred from the US official site.

We need to be very sure of such sensitive issue.

Check out this. If you are a member of educationusa, you can ask your advisor. They always emphasize on the latest 6 months bank statement.

This is not true.

Please say what you are very certain of.

The VO ONLY works with the figure stated on the I20.

If the deficits on the I20 is $0.00 , then there is no need for a SOA.
I concur.

No be fight sir; the fact that all your schools waived your app fees cannot translate to most schools in America. Have a Good Day cheesy
When I mean most, i mean many schools. I don't mean all. Top schools with plenty applicants mostly don't waive, only few do that in top schools. Just telling you so you grab the opportunity and not waste money. Most schools do waive it.

thank you for all your contributions here grin Yes i do understand! But he doesn’t want to disclose such information hence the reason why he printed the first two pages and last two pages making it a total of 4 pages but covers from November to may. plus I felt carrying over 300 pages of statement to the embassy will bore the VO.

I got an assistantship that comes with complete tuition waiver and stipends but I still want to know if the SOA be acceptable.
If you don't have deficit on your i20, don't bother going with any statement of account.

Olumuyiwalasode:
How is the statement past the 6 months period from date of issue when it was only printed in April, You should digest what i wrote well before you comment. So you're telling me that if someone prints a statement in April, and has interview in June, he cannot use it? while it is advisable he gets an updated one, he can use it as well. so i don't know what is correct in what he said that you're quoting me.
You are confusing the whole thing. They said the bank statement should be for the last 6months. If your interview is June, your 6months should start from June. Not when the bank statement was issued. From your reasoning, you can take one from August to January since it's issued in January and it's 6months period, that's wrong way to calculate it.
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by Time2win(m): 8:17am On Jun 11, 2019
Olumuyiwalasode:
This is wrong, you obviously didn't get his question. He was simply saying the statement has a duration from November to April, and his interview is in June; it means the statement was issued and printed in April, which is still within the 6 months period, so yes, He can take it to the embassy since his interview is this June!
He can't take it. He should get a new one. You are wrong and telling someone that gave correct advice that he is wrong. Nawa for some people.

user4321:
Hasty generalization huh
I'm telling you out of experience. If you like go and spend all the money you have on application fees, i see you have so much money. Infact, all the schools I got full funding from were free application. I can count 10 schools that waived my application fee.
EducationRe: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by Time2win(m): 4:21am On Jun 11, 2019
user4321:
Application waivers are almost exclusively reserved for domestic applicants; as an international applicant, you have no choice but to pay. In this case it's always preferable to cut down the number of schools to a reasonable size.
It's not only for domestic students. Most schools give application waiver for international students, you just need to ask them

My approved F1 Visa transcript. Lagos 10th June, 2019
Got to the Embassy at 5:20 for a 6:30am appointment and place was full with about 300 people.
Waited for over 1 hour and finally we were attended to.
Got in after screening, fingerprint was captured and was the first to be attended to.
Alas, no consular and we all waited.
This is where THE MIRACLE HAPPENED.
I began watching TV hung in the corner of the interview hall.
First documentary was about 5 Polish handicaps that came to US for Marathon.
Followed by NYU student interview. It was subtitled for all to read. I kept reading the texts.
A student were asked why he chose NYU, replied he likes the environment because it is conducive for learning having visited the school before applying…………
Secondly, he claims to love the laboratories and the attention lectures give to students.
Blah blah blah…………………..
Few minutes afterwards, I was called.
VO: Morning
ME: Morning, hope you had a good night?
VO: Pass me your passport and I-20
Me: Gave them to him.
VO: Why the University?
Me: I replied verbatim the answers I listened to on the TV…..I SWEAR!!!
VO: What course of study:
Me: MBA and ITM
VO: Why MBA and ITM?
Me: I replied verbatim again what I watched on TV few minutes earlier that ‘I love the student lecturer ratio’, the laboratories especially their SAP lab…………. (I read that one before coming for the interview)
VO: What do you intend to achieve from the course?
Me: I have technical, Management and Business deficiencies and I believe the MBA and ITM will help bridge the gap to make me more employable. Also, The SAP Competence Laboratory situated in the University will help improve my knowledge of ERP……….
VO: When was the last time you visited the US?
Me: (I honestly don’t remember; I have visited a few times in the last 10 years tho.) I don’t remember but about 3 years ago.
VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: I am sponsoring myself and my employer has equally granted me study leave with pay
Vo: Can I see your bank statement please?
Me: I handed him the leave letter from my employer first and waited for him to finish before I give him the bank statement. He returned the letter and didn’t bother to ask for bank statement.
VO: He returned my I-20. (I thought he had refused my application at that point). Then he detached my most recent passport from the other 2 and returned the others. He said “Your application has been approved and you will get a notification when your passport is ready for collection by either mail or text and handed me a white paper.
Me: Thank you.

Note: There is no formula to getting a US Visa. Just be prepared and seek GOD’s favour. It was HIS grace at work. If any Nairalander was at the embassy earlier today, he will testify about the documentary I am talking about.
There is no formula as some do get approved without being asked a single question. This doesn't leave room for one not to prepare. Prepare well even if you have full funding.

By the way, congratulations!!

My approved visa transcript..
Vo: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning (wondering why she rushed to tell me first).
Vo: Pass me your passport and I20.
Me: Passed.
Vo: So what Engineering are you going for.
Me: Mechanical
VO: Okay, how did you hear about the school?
Me: ( *my gosh ...I heard bout the school from a friend but bee zee and others advised me not to say so..I forgot to prepare another response* )
It was recommended to me by a friend that studies there..but I learnt most of what I know about the University from my visit.
Vo: Nodding, looked like she wasn't listening after I said 'friend'.

Vo: Is this your second F1 Visa?

Me: No.

Vo: You've been to the US?

Me: Yes.

Vo: What's the longest time you've spent there?

Me: 15 days.

Vo: Do you have any family in the US?

Me: No.

Vo: (looks like she saw something in her screen) Your Robotics competition last year, where in the US did you do it?

Me: Albuquerque...and Houston.

Vo: So did you win? (She looked anxious..and from this question she started smiling at me)
Me: We came 6th

Vo: Out of??

Me: (Thinking for about 4 seconds)

Vo: (Smiling) around 60?

Me: I think we were over a hundred.

Vo: Wow..(smiling even more).

Vo: You visited this school?

Me: Yes.

Vo: did you apply to other schools?

Me: Yes.

Vo: Name them

Me: Howard University, Emory University, Trinity College, IIT Chicago, SMU Dallas, Loyola Marymount University..(I didn't mention some others and the federal schools that I applied to)

Vo: (Nodding as I spoke..I heard her saying wow when I mentioned Emory). Okay so did you get into those schools?

Me: I got into Howard, IIT Chicago, SMU Dallas, LMU..(didn't mention a few others that I got into coz I didn't say I applied to them).

Vo: So why did you choose this school?

Me: When I visited their campus, I was impressed with their close knit community and engineering program..I was also admitted into their honors program which opens up more opportunities for me, and then I was given a scholarship.

Vo: Okay (looks at my I20) So who is paying for the remaining cost?

Me: My Parents

Vo: What do they do?
Me: My Dad is the managing director of Bleep and my mum works as an assistant general manager at the bla..bla..

Vo: Your dad's business, what is it?

Me: (couldn't hear, asked her, she repeated). An eye clinic.

Vo: Picks up a white paper.

I was in an illusion when I saw the white paper...was thinking of the past present and future all at once..I couldn't hear what she was saying (something about pick up in 3 days)..the next thing she gave me back my passport..I was confused..until I saw it was my old passport that she detached and gave back to me..She held my current one.

Vo: Do well in school..have a nice day.

Me: Thank you.
Congratulations!! Enjoy trumpland

This is one problem I always have with people here.

When you make a dumb statement, and you discover how dumb your statement was, instead of acknowledging the dumbness of your assertion, you turn to attack the person that identified the dumbness in your statement.

I told the guy not to use an old bank statement in order not to run the risk of being placed on AP. If you understand English properly, you will understand that my statement was never absolute. I never said the candidate will be placed on AP nor did I say that the candidate will get his visa approved on the spot. If you don't understand this simple English, I wonder how you passed the inference section of your GRE.

Just a way to cover up for the dumb statement you earlier made in order to save your face. Don't get me annoyed.
Get annoyed. You are talking rubbish... Was my replying attacking your post. Why do you always choose to attack? I said AP is common now and you are saying it's not true. Go to hell you idiot, that's why people always attack you here.
