Thanks Time2win for your response. But any advice on the part where i only applied to one university in the US. Should i apply to more to make up for numbers or will i be fine if i just mention that i applied to this one that offered me the admission?

I won't be the one to tell you to lie about the number of schools you applied to. Just so you know, many that applied to one school and told the V.O that, got their visa. Some V.O might see you as an unserious fellow if you applied to only one school as you can't predict the outcome of admissions or the school is an easy school to get admission from, example is Lincoln university/Virginia International University a.k.a Visa mill schools. It all depends on how you table your case to the V.O. If you table your case well, you will get your visa approved. Some people that applied to 15 schools have been refused visa, so it's not by the number schools you applied to. Best is to be sincere and be ready to prove anything you say to the V.O. if you lie, they might request for the admission letter. Some do lie and get free. Just be ready.

So i have noticed that the VOs almost always ask how many universities an interviewee applied to.
Unfortunately i only applied to one in the US and i got in, the other schools i applied to are in the UK.

Is this a disadvantage for me? Also I wouldn't want to lie but i'm worried how badly this can impact my chances.

There is no harm in saying you applied to schools in other countries. Just be ready to why USA and not other countries.

You can definitely submit two bank statements from 2 different individuals during your visa interview.
Peeps have done that on this thread and none of them was rejected.
It actually shows you have a sound support from home.

The fellow can submit two bank statement. I don't agree with the bolded though if the funds in both account are not huge.

I am only against you saying she should defer her admission till her baby is 1year. Even her husband can't take care of the baby well even at 2years. She can be asked any question including those you mentioned

it is 50/50 . nobody can predict how it goes because your case is 100 percent subjective . One Vo /person might be ok with it another will not. So all you can do is prepare well and hope for the best

The fact that your husband wants to go with you and you have a little baby might actually work against you but you have no choice but to work with what you have and hope for the best . You might just meet a VO that will be awww cute baby , awww cute mother , awww even with new born wants to do a PHD , awww so nice . off you go . The only thing you can do is prepare well and present yourself well

Yes, i have several families like that approved. It's a PhD and will take 3 to 5yrs to complete. They can't stay apart for long.

Your husband, what is he currently doing?
How much is his pay?
Why would he leave his paid job to follow you?
Or don't you know that he cannot work over there?
How would he survive?
What will he fall back to back here in Nigeria when you're back?
What will he be doing over there?

Please I work in a University here in Nigeria, I have been admitted (MS) in US in a program that my workplace is currently looking for lecturers for. I got a full tuition waiver with stipend, however, I have about $7k (living expenses) deficit. My department (Employer) is willing to sponsor. On my DS160, I have filled Employer in the Sponsor part.

My question now is this, while going for interview, do I need to go with my school SOA or a letter of Sponsorship from my department ?

I would like address this WhatsApp group of a thing, it seem people are being asked to pay in order to be helped book appointment. I think this is an Avenue to rip people of their hard-earned money. The Finnish RP processing is more transparent than that. And that is not why this thread was created. Everyone made it across through a transparent process and by doing it themselves. Please beware of whatever cannot be discussed on this platform. God bless our hustle.

Who are those that pay to book appointment? Even getting a date with VFS is a big hassle, so I am not surprised if people do that. I don't know those who are paying or who they paid to but i won't encourage anyone to pay. If they pay, that's their business. There is a whatsapp group that people are sharing ideas on how to book the appointment plus other discussion. I prefer it being done here for others coming for next session to benefit but the group has been created already.
