The world is reading about us here daily. A sizable number of folks who log in here are not even Nigerians and we should learn to respect ourselves if we demand so from others. We already have a mess on our hands with bad leadership plaguing our country for almost 60 Years as an independent nation. What we need to do here more is to make constructive inputs, criticise whoever we want to criticise based on character, not because of tribal sentiments. Afterall, who amongst us had the luxury of choosing his or her tribe at birth? None. We all became members of certain tribes by accident of birth and let’s respect ourselves.....going forward.

I quite agree with you Sir, barbaric acts are not limited to one race or tribe, but this very sacrilegious act of incest is so YORUBA ..... acceptance is the very first step towards redemption, dem take tow tow matter swear for them? Trust me I have a lot of decent Yoruba friends who abhor this behavior but a lot of yorubas too see nothing wrong in incest, and that is deeply troubling and simply not right.

Lastly, the way yorubas and Igbos insult each other in this forum is way more than ridiculous, it is shameful. I met a girl from Rwanda some weeks ago at a company get together and immediately she told me she is Rwandan, I immediately asked her if she is Hutu or Tutsi just to keep the conversation flowing.... but I was met with a sound rebuke, that you don’t want to know the reply she gave me. it was almost like shut up.... we are Rwandans, there is nothing like Hutu or Tutsi, that was our past, and we have moved on as a people; strong, United, happy and progressive!!!! This episode reminded me of another Rwandan guy, who said exactly this same thing to me 5 Years ago in Dallas.... when I returned home that night I almost cried for Nigeria...these are Rwandans Who killed themselves in a historic genocide, the type and manner never experienced in African history, now united and forging ahead BUT our own people, especially the Yorubas and Igbos, can’t stand each other, even in a facelesss online Nigerian forum.. what a SHAME!!!!!!


While I do understand that Nigerian tribes have certain proud elements as members, however the Yorubas here attack every other tribe with so much impunity... I have never seen an Igbo insult urhobo, ijaw, Itsekiri, Efik, Bini, or Idoma etc. here, it is always the yorubas insulting everyone from other tribes..... and I don’t know why they exude so much superiority complex over everyone, like they are perfect people and when one calls them out on the bad things some of them do, they want to end the story as quickly as posssible, but if it is other tribes issues, they will overflog the issue until everyone keeps quite.... that’s not normal.

Now this shameful news of incest has surfaced again here and all of a sudden, yorubas want everyone to be civil, nice and accommodating

Are regardless of our tribe...just like what you said the Rwandan girl said...remove tribalism from this case..
And as for those who take this up to abuse their fellow subcontinental or country partners... It disgust me.. And you with all this realization and still highlighting those baised act is somewhat alarming...
As for me ...we are one...nothing like Yoruba,Igbo or Hausa in sense of behaviour... (Not saying culture).
