As much as this country is ripe for a revolution, it’s never gonna come through NLC. The NLC since the departure of Oshiomole has shown a very large disconnect with the people. It has proven its self not to be trusted by the people. It has shown itself a very corrupt body in cohorts with the ruling class that continues to ground Nigerians and Nigeria’s economy with their often ill thought out and sometimes outrightly callous policies.

Jails are called ‘correctional facilities’ for a reason. Our prisons hardly do that. They turn gentle people into hardened criminals. I’m not saying this suspect is gentle though. She’s guilty of the murder of the child. Prison is however not the only way to correct and in my opinion not the best option in this case. So yeah you are right, by letter of the law, she should do time. But to what end really?

Sad. The girl should be rehabilitated. Mentally and educationally. The ministry of women affairs or youth affairs in the stat should ensure she goes through a skill acquisition program. This might have been avoidable if she had means of livelihood.

Countries have borders and requires proper documentations to move between borders. Economic planning require proper census non documented persons makes it hard to make adequate planning. Security concerns also increase with presence of ‘illegal immigrants’. Persons without proper documentation can easily carry out illegal activities and cause harm without trace. Making it more difficult for law enforcement agencies.
