OMA4U:
The most striking feature of this poem is how the rhymes infuse FLOW and RHYTHM.

Wow!The first time I'd read boss's poem and understand it at once.
Hehehehehe. Thats what makes it a poem. It is meant to evoke the thought of the reader.

Oh! This is one sad piece. The last stanza is something else. There is a typo in the second line of the second to the last stanza.
Noted and change has been effected sir wink(I was almost tempted to use the infamous girl's "K" as a reply grin).

This is pretty awesome; this is the second or third time that would be happening. I post something, and at that moment, you just finished a piece on the same topic. cheesy

I anticipate, sir.

First is an accident
Second is a coincidence
The third should be what?

Mirror mirror, on the wall,
Can't I be the fairest, of them all?

Do the fairest, ask the same as me?
Is what you mirror, what they see?

Mirror, mirror, on wall,
Of same old sights, you must be bored:

The dissatisfaction,
over reactions,
the scrutinisation,
and complication,

the sighing, the crying,
the self esteems dying,
the pullings and placings,
tuckings and tracings.

Mirrors, mirrors on the wall,
reflecting down an endless hall,
This fairytale has become stale,
the happy ending's off this trail.

Why can't I just accept your gift? undecided
This endless passage, down I trail. sad

I've chosen my boss.

I would have advised you on what to do but I don't think you are a vindictive personsad

Heheheheheheheh. Nah I'm not. It won't restore anything.

But the point is molestation goes vice versa (i.e. Male and female are both victims)

You see Timpaker is a gentleman. If it was me, I will start chyking her daughters right in front of her. If she complains, she will get a simple course down memory lane.

Hehehehehehehehehe. I've forgiven her and moved on but to me getting revenge would further complicate things. The only surprising thing was the way she pretended like she doesn't remember what she did to me.

I didn't read everyone's comment but the little little I read plus standd's update said it all.

Although, girls, ladies even women give people the room to call them names. I have a male friend who was molested by a lady at age 12. What will you call that?

Sugar mummies: they made themselves laughing stock by going for people worth calling their son.

On the contrary, I won't let judgemental becloud me nor my sense of reasoning for our girls, ladies and women are not to blame but opposite sex are. I chose not to blame them because I knw not what they have suffered in the hands of slavery born men.

What story will our dear chibok girls tell? What future await them? Won't these same men term them slut?

*moody*

You're right. At age 13 I was molested by our landlady's daughter(then who as at that time around 32 years of age) in Mushin, Lagos, and when I told my aunt she simply brushed it aside and after much admittance she called me "ashewo".

I was scarred to tell my mum cuz she wouldn't believe me either.

Few years down the line, I bumped into her at the airport with 3 beautiful girls and that nostalgic feeling of plea "aunty Ronke abeg na" just rang in my ears and at that moment I wish her girls could hear them too.

She didn't even apologise.

Up till today, I don't feel comfortable sitting close to women to any woman older than me (not even my momma).

Last year October, my little cousin (a boy) was molested by a female corper in F.G.C. Kwali and instead of the school to act on his complaint they suspended him for lying on a "Teacher".

The fact is this stuff happens to us male bbut the way ours is bn handled is very different from the ladies. The female get more sympathy than the male

The man despite his years of filming himself is still an amateur in POV videos. He should come for tutorials. Nonsense!

BTW, when are they stoning him so that I can come with my camera crew to video it too.

By this time 8years ago, my friend, Zannah was stoned to death for a similar offence as his, the only difference is that this commissioner has his crime videoed while Zannah's case was that of too many accusing fingers pointing at him (just cuz he sells mojo for a living).

Lol... Actually Hindu Literature is more of orals (meditation) and mostly religious..

Please which African Literature work wow you the most?
Its poetry and songs are also part of Hindu (Afro-asian) literature in which at most times, people are made to perform choreograph to a larger audience. Again, the part i find difficult is the Ramayana literature (who the hell has time to read that long verses of dharma et al. The Krishna methodology is another one that will lock you up in confusion. You have to practice either be or have the religious background to actually decipher it because it is historical. No wonder they're always designing mind-troubling poetry forms. Who they hell invented the Ghazal by the way? angry

I love African literature (my root cool ...

Of course the best African Literature still remains Chinua Achebe's "Things fall apart". I remember in one conference in Amsterdam, at the mention of the book by a professor, the whole lecture room went berserk. Another great African work is that of Camera Laye's "L'Enfant Noir" ( I hope i spelt it directly). I once read a critique of his book by a friend and since then I stopped reading Western literatures.

A GIRL UNLOVED

A girl unloved,
A fondness she pleads,
A friend, a companion
Is all she needs.

While her shadow mocks her,
In the loneliness of the hour
Life's ferule caresses her skin
Her hopes sags before her power.

Her face beautifully battered
With tattooed tears and sorrows.
Yesterday's scars glows today
And uncertainty preepmt tomorrow.

Rejected by life,
Parents eloped with death,
The world admitted it ain't
Ready for her birth.

Should she be proud
Of her breath
Or choke in the weakness
Of her strenght?

Her heart is heavy
With lead emptiness,
Laughter is outlandish
And so is happiness.

When a vulture
Followed her to the meadow,
She knew death has come
To flirt with her and her shadow.

Into its arm, she ran
To embrace it like a friend,
Absconding into oblivion,
Oh! Her pain has come to an end.

A girl unloved,
Here's the friend you've found
A hungry bird dinning
With you on the ground.

To me African literature is the best then followed by Caribbean literature....

English literature is just overated and it is very vast.

Hindu Literature? That's like the most difficult of them all.
