joseph1832:Boss! ![]() Ymix94: Erm... just click on "modify" then check each of the lines (there is a space that started each line of yours in the poem) delete those spaces and you're good to go... Better still... go to the one I edited and quote then see how I did them. Get it? |
Speechless! ![]() |
Ymix94:Just remove the space that you used in starting each lines. Then try to properly punctuate your poems so that it would have meaning while reading... I tried a little in the punctuation.. Above all, you did great. Nice poem bro! |
Ymix94: |
She's scary, walahi! |
joseph1832:Don't worry. nothing dey happen! This man is not the problem of Nigeria. |
Get well soon sir! We aren't shaken and we won't shake even if heaven fall. |
Nice piece of work my dear poet. I will like to buy one of your art work, the one about a mother and child walking under the rain (that's if you wanna sell it). |
HEheheheheheheh. Nice prose. ![]() I must confess the fourth paragraph had me thinking about my darling Greece. I pray Nigeria never get to that level. |
standd:Am I thinking what you're thinking? ![]() Hmmm..... (I'm mot devilish sha) ![]() |
My home boy Moses Siasia will win the Bayelsa State Governorship election come December 5th, 2015. ![]() |
joseph1832: Read this one and I assure you eh you'll be glad you did and you won't stop talking about the book. Since the book is scarce in the market, you can read it at goodreads dot com. This book brings you the perplexing paradox of religion, corruption in the society, love and loyalty... let me not go ahead with the spoiler Remember to thank me later. |
OMA4U:You read that book too? That book is classic! I wonder why it is not rated amongst the best books in Africa. |
joseph1832: The author of the book is Femi Ademiluyi. Ever since I read that book about 10years ago, my love for Nigerian/African books increased. I use to have the book but misplaced it somewhere in Ibadan when I went to get it autographed by the author. It is still painful remembering the book and not getting a hold of it to peep. |
The New Man |
Happy Birthday Chairman!!! (even though I called in late - better late than never, isn't it?) Wishing you many more fruitful years ahead. Far and loud we heard the cry of joy; Out he came, a bouncing baby boy, We joined the earth to dance it's dance With sour but refined wine from France. Under God's eye you sat, crawled and stood Into a man we understand to understood. He fed us from his pen, the food of his heart, We ate his poetry and dined in his table of art. He made us an Oliver Twist - always wanting for more; Today, we don come again joor! For our boy is a man, We're his fan, Our felicity we've come to share Shan't we all dance to his new year? I can't be late for this party na. |
The Convict (Drama) THE CONVICT Bits by bits i watched myself broken by you, Even the walls of Jericho would crack by your touch Let alone me, an old broken man, caged by your love Which pours out the tenderness and soothingness of care. The touch of a goddess it seems, submissively my body yield To thee whose love my heart now crave for. YOUNG LADY At dusk, under the soaring sapphire sky It is my face you steal at morning sight, While your wrinkle melt with kiddies blushes, Butterfly smiles polish your rumple cheeks You feel alive, young and like a conqueror, With which your face blossom like the roses of Athens. Is that love i see on your face? THE CONVICT Oh dear! See not the garden of wool on my hair Nor the tears that hides under my creased flare, Your love and its absence i cannot bear For my son's love and I you cannot compare. If you extinguish the spark i have for you Where else would my heart go? When it is locked in the coop of your love. YOUNG LADY Ah! The heart of my heart beat!! Why is your thought blurred with the unimaginable? Is it the lemon grass, aloes and the dried pawpaw leaf? Or the bitter herbs from the forest's garden of St. Paul's shrubbery? We together is like making incense from the devil's beans, And the sun, moon and stars would blind us for incest. THE CONVICT Can't I be caged with you my dear? If your beauty would lead me astray, If it turns me against the world again, i'd gladly beseech it dearly, For I'd rather burn in the devil's lake, drown in its fieriest of fire Till my breathe is whisked like the ode on a Grecian urn. Please lock me in your heart where i'd feel safe of this world, I wish to be imprisoned till your love sets me free. Do not wait for my son, the law doesn't love, it only lives - My son lives for the law. YOUNG LADY Please don't speak so of the love of my life because not even the Stockholmic love i bore, nor the affluently blessed or other audacious men, together can match the modest nature of his love. However, we could have one sin in secrecy Just to test your prowess... the forth night we shall... But please have more wine... |
joseph1832:I think the part where I said "I live for you" covers and took care of that part. The word "you" is ambiguous. ![]() |
joseph1832:Heheheheheheh. What did I miss? ![]() Well, that's just a rough poem... the main one is somewhere in a sheet of paper. I couldn't remember all what I wrote so I just put up the lives without much explanation (I will edit it when I see the paper. Someone accused me of bn non-religious just cuz I skipped the "God" part..... i.e. "one life... I live for God"... the critique was so funny eh. So tell me, which did I miss that made me unpatriotic? ![]() |
joseph1832: Hehehehehehehehehe. I was pulling your legs! ![]() If an art isn't explicit then it's just a piece without imagination. Good job bro! |
Okay. How did it end? ![]() |
joseph1832:"Pleasure to the senses..." ![]() And fine art are to be explicit right? ![]() Nice logic! ![]() |
joseph1832:Private meeting? Maybe in the afterlife. ![]() Your tyburn poems are great. But why waste it on erotic poems? are you a p0rnst*r? ![]() |
basille: Heheheheheheheh. I'm very much awake at night. I'm even thinking it's very much abnormal but after reading people's comment here I'm force to say "na wa oooo" ![]() |
Present! ![]() |
Happy birthday Tolutweety!!! Wishing you many more fruitful years ahead ![]() |
Happy birthday Larrysun.. Wishing you many more fruitful years ahead. One day, I will grow up to write just like you ![]() |
It is true. Dangote is renting his own house to himself in London ![]() |
joseph1832:I'm just seeing/hearing/reading this form of poetry oooo. "tyburn". I can't believe i have never heard/read of it before. I will look it up and try and write one... Can we see the tyburn you wrote? |
NINE LIVES One life I live for my family. That the blood glues all - Its a bond that has no enemy. One life I live for naivety. I take responsibility for my unknown Deeds alone. One life I live for joy. That it takes a thimbleful of tears To wash up a face clean for cheers. One life I live for love. That life's true meaning is what really Maddens one to the grave early. One life I live for you. My loyalty could have been bruised By my love for awed choices but i stayed true. One life I live for my mistakes. That each time I fail and cry, I always get better after another try. One life I live for hope. For as long as breathe still travels Through the nostrils why should I mope? One life I live for memories. That a sing-song is made Of my actions; a feat for jamborees. And above all, One life I lived for life, That after my deeds on earth I was proud to have a date with death. |
OMA4U:Thanks man. I will continue this week. I just found some pieces of the poems that got missing on my drive. Happy Sunday!!! ![]() |
