GNBohr: For your information, every language has a derogatory word for the people of other languages. Nairaland is replete of such descriptions or classifications with, Hausa, Igbo,Yoruba and other tongues aiming at each other. Remember without people there is no history and without history there is no geography.Pally what is the meaning of "Derogatory". Is it meant for everyday use? Is it to be used in mainstream media? Think before you post. |
O.D.B.:He was talking about North-South orientation. Not North vs East/West orientation. With the earth hanging "freely" in space, who is to determine which part is top or bottom. @ OP, I agree with you on the point of that term "sub-saharan" having a racist connotation. I'd always been bothered about the basis for which that term was derived. Looking at it closely, it seeks to divide Africa into white/arabic Africans and other black Africans. The Sahara in comparison with the rest of Africa, is a minority, in all aspects; economy, population, landmass. So why should the rest of Africa be viewed as a subject of the Sahara? I don't know how to put this clearly in words. Why should the entire rest of Africa be defined by the Saharan part? It's like saying the rest of Africa is a minority compared to the Saharan part. And don't tell me any story about the Saharan region being located geographically above the rest part of Africa. Cos you'll have to explain why North America is not likewise known as sub-Canadian America. I view any black African adult who uses that term "sub-Sahran Africa", as a half-baked neo-colonialist. Simple! |
Ileke-IdI:Well there you have it. You've just stated your criteria for judging the song. Till tomorrow, "Yori-Yori" and that"Remember" song still enjoy good air-play. Not to talk of this recent one they did with wizkid. Bracket are stepping up the game when it comes to Naija love-songs. |
looplat: omo imagine a country without okoro and aboki. na dat one go sweet pass. aboki no get brain na malu him be. okoro na enemy of progress na so so thief thief okoro sabi do and okoro no fit stay for him domot. okoro and aboki abeg go form una country we don tire for una.For your mind you've posted sense abi? Oya clap for yourself. I noticed that whenever a topic is being discussed and gets taken over by tribal trolls, that first offensive post (before other posters retort back) tends to come from a particular ethnic group. I need to go round NL and confirm that but I'm pretty sure. Go to politics and non-celebrity crimes section. The ethnic bashing tends to start with "omo Igbo" this or "aboki" that. That is shameful. |
Mega~upload:Stewpid hediot. For your mind you sabi konja abi? You put your bus into hire-purchase in December and by February you've sold the bus and bought two others? Go and die! Thief! See illiterate monkey. |
I won't say anything yet until I see evidence that shows those people who were caught are Nigerians. |
dadde: Ms. Tetteh noted that the provisions in the GIPC Act 478 was applicable to Ghanaians and citizens of the Economic Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS), hence the need for non-Ghanaians to comply with the minimum investment requirement of $300,000.O Lord. How I miss OBJ right now. ![]() |
@ Mmuo Okija, I'd suggest T&E InterLogiTech. (Copmbination of your T&E, International Logistics and Technologies). Alternatively, you could limit it to T&E InterLogistics. |
Ha! I won't attempt all these stunts you guys listed (especially the Mercedes guy). But of course it's an SUV with high ground clearance. With a sedan or saloon, I'd rather park somewhere because you'll look and feel very stu.pid trying to emerge from your stalled car in waist-deep water. |
Mine is my Yahoo ID. All the combinations of Emeka I could think of, had been taken. I decided to go for one that described me in the opposite. |
Seun: You should have taken the driver's picture. As it is, we can't be certain the picture was taken in Abuja or even Africa. That's a FERMA pick-up van in front of the Bugatti. |
Mynd_44: We know that is impossible literal dude. Show offAnd you bothered to respond to an obviously sarcastic question? How old are you? |
mr_man: Did they say southern Nigeria?Brother ask them O. |
Mynd_44: I wonder why you assume that everyone has a brain. Some people don't have brains they have a vacuum inside their skullsNature abhors a vacuum. How would their skulls support all that negative atmospheric pressure if it was totally empty? |
Whitehorse: Well, i do know that from leaving Enugu through New Market to 9th Mile is very very bad as of Easter 2012 when i was there. i dont know about beyond 9th Mile cos i turned off there heading to Nsukka. They've dualised most of the road now. The stretch from Enugu to 9th mile has been completed. The other road from 9th mile to Enugu is almost complete. The problem is NB, NBC, Dangote and other trucks that break down or even capsize frequently along that road forcing commuters to use only one lane. That ugwu Onyeama is the scary part of the journey. A very bad, accident-prone spot. People feel an evil spirit might even be in that area. |

igbo boy: Enugu looks clean, quiet, mellow and de-populated.Go to Abakpa or Achara layout. LOL |
PROUD-IGBO:The state govt does these things you listed. Believe me, the streets are swept everyday. As for the broken street lights; consequences of drunk, unruly drivers. There are Yellow cabs of Nissan Sunny make, IVM intra-city buses. Sullivan regularly carries out beautification projects in Enugu metropolis and road/street constructions in the sub-urban and rural areas. And he doesn't engage in all these unnecessary narcissistic adverts you find from most non-performing governors. The man is a silent, performing governor. And I'm not even an indigent of the state. LOL |
bilms: The police is mostly regarded as the most corrupt people in Nigeria, this is due to their ability to force you to pay bribe against your wwill. Though, some people willingly pay,but most victims of the police are forced. The first thing that came to my mind after reading your extremely stu.pid perambulating story, is to call you an extremely st.upid IDI.OT. But for the sake of peace, I would refrain from calling you an extremely st.upid Id.iot. When the guy made those comments about extorting money from you, why didn't you simply look for a superior officer to report the matter to? When next you wish to receive money sent from abroad, please check for the billboards of whichever coy (Western Union or Moneygram) is displayed outside the bank, instead of migrating from building like an extremely ... ... Guy you fall my hand. That's all I can say for now. |
gendebs: Try any Samsung android phone I bet u will smash ur BB and Nokia phone to d wall.I didn't want to post anything Oo!! But reading your signature got me bursting into laughter like mad. Omo your head no correct at alla!!! Lol. |
Spirit of Okija: My fiance and I went to see the Avengers movie and actually enjoyed the movie.. After the movie, we normally like to stay back and play a little kissy-smoochie.. Anyways, while we were sitted there, the hall had emptied out and the credits were still rolling.. Next thing we saw were two guys armed with torchlights run into the hall.. (remember that the lights were still out in the hall) and started a row by row sweep for valuables that may have been left behind by Cinema goers.. Immediately I saw this, I tapped my partner and we sat still until there sweep got to where we were sitted. Now the way they were in a hurry to do the sweep showed that they were intent on keeping their finds as it appeared like a race of 'first find, first keep'.. Anyways, when they saw us, they were shocked... So we made our way out of the cinema and into the general hall.. Just before we left, I decided to buy some chocolates from the popcorn stand.. While there I placed my Blackberry phone on the counter to fetch my wallet from my pocket.. I paid, walked out and went straight into my car.. I had started my engines and needed my phone to play some music when I realized that I had left it on the counter were I bought the popcorn.. IMMEDIATELY, I made a run for it back into the cinema. As i approached the counter, I had already spotted my phone still there.. NEXT THING, I saw this attendant (in Silverbird uniform) walk briskly past my eye line with my phone and my phone disappeared from the counter... I was like DARN!!!!!!!! That was hoodini style movement.. He didnt even miss a beat or hesitate.. SO I slowed down and followed him.. As soon as I saw him heading for the toilet, I called him and said he should please give me my phone.. The shocking part was that he denied having it.. I just pulled out my other phone and dialled the number and it rang in his pocket.. He just handed it to me with a half-baked apology and walked away..O Lord!! I will punch the Id.iot. With all the anger in me. You can't imagine the way I feel now after reading your story. It's just too bad. |
slimyem: abeg, who be sky B?Word! And he also sang "Pray for me", his version of Eminem/Dido's "Stan". You like the guy? |
playboy19: I will advice you to go for the Toyota camry any day. You already know my reasons and again, if you're selling them back, you'll have a buyer for the toyota quicker than the Honda. To buy a second hand Honda car, people are always scared. They'll ask you over and over again why you are selling it. Trying to be sure that you're not offloading it cos of gear problem.True talk. Maxima and Altima cars will put you on nickname and first name basis with all the mechanics in town. You'll regret ever buying a car. @ OP, as regards your dilemma, Honda has got great body designs and interiors. The car engine performs better than the Camry in my opinion. Downside: a lot of owners have complained about the gearbox. Treat your car well and it'll serve you well. That's all. The Camry is roomy all-round but is spartan in the interior. I will choose the Honda to the Camry anyday. |
All these posters citing jealousy, might as well say I hate Sky B (that's if you know the guy) because I'm jealous of him. |
Dumb thread. He's a kid. He sings kiddies lyrics. His songs appeal to kids and the juvenile-minded adults (I say that based on what I've observed of adults who follow his music). I don't like children music. Guess that should explain my stand. |
Idowuogbo: U tiny and ur name na Emeka? Guy! I don't do conductors.Nne but was u complaining abt the size when we was doing kpakpangolo in faraway Lebanon? I has transformate to chairman now. The name and the person are now david and goliath. |
Idowuogbo: My bebe! I no tell u?Id Bebe, why r u bloadcasting our rove stoly to the ears of computer? So after borning the pikin u den forgot me in Rebanon, eh kwa? |
chievo: ........No..ur status shld b..no.1 nd 22. single nd confiused..LOL. I agree I was confused at first but things are resolved. Back to square 1. |
Goldieluks: i dey craze??Chei ya. |
^^^ Funny that. I guess my opinion about Ogun girls was a bit skewed. Most of those I met were Ijebu. The girl in the OP's pic is most likely Yoruba. The slightly wide mouth. |
deshclones: @ opGuy chill na. Which one be serial wankster? Strange that you had been with him all these while that he'd been serially wanking to the extent that you even know the condition of his manhood. austushi1: Some argue dat u can identify by d thread thru d hole in the Joystick!Thread through the urethra!! As in seriously! To all the virgin haters, all I can say is: you've eaten your cake already. So why harassing people who wish to save theirs for a later date? @ OP, enjoy your guy (that's after marriage O! LOL). I see nothing wrong in a guy retaining his virginity till marriage. Even a non-minister at that. It's the stronger who shows restraint. |
Piyke: @yahla let me first describe in detail what mine was doing then.Mine makes that humming sound when the steering is turned i.e when the engine is still cold. Is it a fault? Remedies? I also noticed that after one clumsy mechanic worked on the clutch-disc, I begun to hear some creaking sounds whenever the engine was cold and the car was running on low-speeds or in neutral. But after I traveled to the village and came back (road was very bad with pot-holes) I noticed that the creaking sound had stopped and the engine now runs much quieter. I truly considered this funny. Whether the gallop don shake the engine till the thing settle come tight properly. What do I have to do about the steering hum abeg? |
