Our environments say a lot about our level of development. I think that its high time Nigerian governments at different levels should start making conscious efforts towards development our states infrastructure as well as its aesthetics.

Enugu is one state that has sustained their efforts in this regard. We also want the residents, landlords and tenants to go a step further in making our cities in every state to be beautiful. We love beauty.

Don't mind the capital fool.

That roundabout including the fountain has always been maintained by that bank which has it's logo there. For more than 14 years, to the best of my knowledge.

The beauty which people allude to Enugu, was enhanced by Sullivan Chime's government. Projects were completed, roads and streetlights installed without fan-fare or sycophantic noises. A very far cry from what we have now.

Hi Symbae, thanks for your kind words.

If you want to live close to the hospital, consider - Earlswood estate ( Expensive though) or White bushes. The two locations are within walking distances to the hospital. A little farther but still within walking is Salsford and areas around Earlswood train station ( Brambletye, St' John's road, Earlsbrook road and woodland road). Otherwise try around the town Center with it's easy access to bus, taxi and train. If you are not a 'spend-shy' like me, try Noble house on Queensway. ( a two bed room is about £1200pcm). You can also consider areas around St' Anne street, really nice neighbourhood, or area around the catholic church going towards Holmesthorpe or Park 25.

Do not go towards Merstham unless you can drive. Also I will not advise going towards Linkfield lane, it is deserted and dark at night because of the trees.

Reigate is cool but expensive unless you are extremely lucky, I had someone who got a two bedroom flat at £900, She was really lucky.
Horley is also close-by.

Letting agents that you can use, Woodland and may be Connels. Do not use Andrews, Leaders and another one close to McDonald's.

If you don't have your family with you, consider a room share.

You can search through, spareroom.com, rightmove.com, zoopla.com, intolondon.com.
Please view wherever you choose before you pay.
Start searching on time, give it time. Don't rush.

By the way, Halal shop, adjacent to McDonald's sells African food stuff or you can go Taj shop in Crawley close to the County mall. When you settle down, you can go to Croydon, Peckham or Dustin to shop for your Nigerian food stuff.

Welcome and i wish you a fruitful, happy stay.
LOL.

Even though your post wasn't for me, I felt obliged to highly commend you for your thorough and in-depth response to queries. They really are helpful, even for those who are yet to make the move.

More power chief.

Minimum wage in the state of New York is $14.50 per hour or N5,532.80 per hour.

Working a 9-5 job, Monday to Friday for 1 month (21 days) equates to:

N5,532.80 * 8hrs * 21 days or N929,510.40 per month as minimum wage, excluding weekend/overtime pay. Or salaries from other jobs.

How much is our minimum wage again? undecided

Thanks, Mekus for sharing your Ivory Coast experience with us. Your sweet story has rekindled my long-forgotten lovely memories of Ivory Coast.

I have been to IC twice on a cycle tour and I was opportune to experience Abidjan briefly during the first tour.
I couldn't reach out to Femi that evening as agreed, I needed some sleep to recover from the exhaustion of cycling from Ghana to Abidjan. That day was the last stage and the most tiring stage of all races or perhaps I was fatigued from the general accumulated exhaustion of riding from Surulere, Lagos (where the race was flagged off) to Abidjan.
You cycled from Lagos to CIV?! shocked

I envy you bro.

How long did the trip from Ghana to Abidjan take?
