Romance › Re: How Do I Move On After My Friend's Death.. Still Hurts by Tinyemeka(m): 8:58pm On Oct 15, 2020 |
Monchadam: Hi.
My friend died around June this year and she was buried quickly. Before that, we were close pals, we weren't dating, but she was my friend, and I loved her, she loved me too. When I went through hard times she was with me. In her absence and in her presence, she sent me messages daily on how I should own the day and make it fruitful, we created memories together.
Even in my anger, she would hold me in silence, I've never experienced that kind of love from anyone, never before.
I honestly would have married her, when the time was right, I'm sure of that. The purest soul I've met. She shared everything with me, as I did with her. And always wanted to know what went through my mind.
To the problems she couldn't solve, she held me and stayed silent.
I'm still broken till date, I cant move on, I just cant. I still call her number to see if it would go.
How do I move on guys? It still hurts, that the only person who really loved and cared decided to leave this world.
I need your advice on how to move on. Thank you I'm married with kids, but I still considered my mum as my best friend and elder sister. Until without warning, she just died one midnight, June 30, last year. I'd been jisting with her that evening. Lost dad 2014. These traumatic events forced me to really ponder the frailty and triviality of life. Honestly life is quite trivial. Even when we say we are creating legacies that will last after we are gone, everything really doesn't matter on the other side. We're just acting a script here and when it's curtain call, we have no choice than to take a bow and exit the stage. End of story. Finito. Make the best of your life now, while you have it. That's the least you can do for yourself. Your friend is gone. Grieve and find something better to do about yourself. You really can't change her situation or force her to come back. It's irreversible. Grieve and get over it. Take heart bro. |

WhyNa: Random advice and input.....
In additiion to what I already metioned in previous pages...
1. Use your airline kg well. Bring your essentials....
2. Compared to the income a month, you can survive on 40,000 naira a month or 60,000 if you drink and party. If you pay for accomodation, budget an extra 80,000 for something decent. By month end, you'll have much more than enough savings. Nothing less than $600
3. Vietnam is a tourist country. I haven't visited some places yet but you can go on vacations within Vietnam and have a swell time with beautiful memories
4. When you become friends with a Vietnamese family, you automatically become a family friend. They would randomly give you stuff to take home on each visit and almost always invite you over for lunch or dinner
5. Lunch is by 11am here. Lol
6. The school and teaching system is waaaayy different here. While we start with alphabets and then proceed to 2 letter words, the 3 and all that, They jump that. So it's common to see students who can read and write but can't speak and understand. It's even more amazing when you find an 8 year old who can read out words like computer, purple, rainbow but can't read simple words like The, If, Girl.......Cramming at work is my best guess. Those big words are learnt first mostly under vocabulary and pronouciation.
7. When you sign contracts here, accomodation or so, try to sign for 3 months irst. I'll be moving to new apartment. Cheaper and better.
8. Don't attempt to cook rice with pot here. It will burn and be undercooked. If your apartment doesn't have a rice cooker, it should be in your list of first things to buy
I'm still learning everyday and seeing things. Lol. If you want to teach here, also be ready to play games, be lively and fun and be a clown if you work with children Chai! I just like how you throw out these random (and very insightful!) tips, once in a while. It's also surprising that they'd be willing to pay as much as $2,000 for the teaching job, given the relatively low cost of living there. Makes plenty sense. One can actually save a lot, if determined to do so. |

Secret U.S. government documents reveal that JPMorgan Chase, HSBC and other big banks have defied money laundering crackdowns by moving staggering sums of illicit cash for shadowy characters and criminal networks that have spread chaos and undermined democracy around the world.
The records show that five global banks — JPMorgan, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank and Bank of New York Mellon — kept profiting from powerful and dangerous players even after U.S. authorities fined these financial institutions for earlier failures to stem flows of dirty money.
U.S. agencies responsible for enforcing money laundering laws rarely prosecute megabanks that break the law, and the actions authorities do take barely ripple the flood of plundered money that washes through the international financial system.
In some cases the banks kept moving illicit funds even after U.S. officials warned them they’d face criminal prosecutions if they didn’t stop doing business with mobsters, fraudsters or corrupt regimes.
JPMorgan, the largest bank based in the United States, moved money for people and companies tied to the massive looting of public funds in Malaysia, Venezuela and Ukraine, the leaked documents reveal.

Studied and graduated from Unizik, B.Sc Microbiology. 2006. First started with Leadway Assurance where I worked for 3 months before joining one bank like that which has eventually grown to be the country's No. 1 in customer deposit base. Marked my 12th year anniversary about a week ago. I think I've become disillusioned with my status quo (long overdue in my opinion). I'll soon relocate to the UK to start a new career, or Canada to change my scenery (so help me God). I'm serious - so help me God. |

Kalatium: While growing up i only knew of secular rappers and break dancers. Until the emergence of gospel rappers like Lecrae, Trip Lee, Da truth, Flame etc. Afterwards my Neighborhood was saturated with gospel rappers.
Now in churches anytime there is concert break dancers and gospel rappers are invited especially in youth programs. However i noticed only youths were interested in it but the older generation were kicking against it including our former pastor.
Our former pastor vehemently comdemn rapping and break dancing, he doesn’t give us the liberty to dance in church.
With the coming of our new pastor, gospel rappers and break dancers are being encouraged.
I am perplexed, why did our former pastor and older generation condemn? it is it a sin? What's the origin of rap and break-dancing? Where did they come from? |
