Ishilove: Although these stories are fantastic, they MAY just be true. I heard of a couple that divorced after the first night because the groom wanted to squeeze toothpaste out of the tube by holding the bottom, while the bride insisted that it should be squeezed by holding the neck.
When they could not reach a compromise, the groom told the bride she was stubborn woman and he couldn't live with such a woman for the rest of his life.
Na so marriage end o True. I think I've heard about that before. |

My wedding reception went well. Ample preparation ahead of time is the key. Nothing is too early to be done. - We got the caterer at one of our marriage course classes (3 months to the date). Same went for the decorator who also handled the wedding gown and cakes. The lady is an angel. For the caterer, we needed to be sure that her food was good. So we told her to give us details of at least 2 weddings she'd be handling. We went there (even though we did not know the celebrants) and tasted the foods served to guests. Also used the opportunity to learn from the mistakes of those couples and avoided in our own case. During a wedding reception, there is no point in keeping the food and drinks till everyone is hungry before serving them. Makes no sense. My Cmttee of friends made sure all the tables had drinks and water while we were still at church. So all the tables were fully served even before guests had started arriving. Once everyone is fully seated, serve the food! In fact that gave wifey and I all the time in the world to snap pictures poolside (501 shots in all). After all the guests were already being served. Point of correction OP. It is not advisable to place a relative in charge of sharing of the food or drinks. Use a neutral person wey no sabi Uche face. Cos if you use a relative, guests from the other side of the family must have a complaint that they were not served well enough. A neutral unknown is more likely to ensure equal sharing of the stomach resources and shacks. Ummmm... what else? Yeah! Committee of friends. Use guys who you know you can rely on. Not just office colleagues or neighbours. I mean guys who can take the initiative, jump and take charge when they see that things are not being done right. Hold meetings with them at least 4 weeks to D-Day. Assign roles. So everyone will know what he's supposed to do on that day. They are not necessarily the ones to do the actual jobs, but to assist the contractors (decorator, DJ, caterer, photographer, etc) do the jobs according to your specs. Some people do not like using friends. Mine were very helpful. By Thursday, Friday of that week, you'll almost run mad, forgetting details and stuff. You'll need extra hands and brains. Like I said earlier, mine went well. There were no complaints (to my knowledge sha). Make a list of every single item and task prior to the wedding date (reception venue, gift items, programme of events, openers, Kola, etc) and work out their completion. P.S After all said and done, the wedding will come and go but will the marriage last? That's the main objective. Plan wisely and within your means. Do not plan something that would eventually leave you a mountain of debt and subsequent source of friction between you and your spouse. In everything apply wisdom. Peace mehn. P.P.S I couldn't resist the temptation. Sorry. Attached is a pic of when we'd concluded dancing stuff. Unfortunately, dancing isn't my thing.

My Branch Head's car. He left the office barely 10mins before we did.
We couldn't even approach to help him cos of the burning truck. But he is alive and well (together with his secretary who was in the vehicle with him) to the greatest Glory of Almighty God!
The second pic shows how narrowly his vehicle would have been rammed off the bridge. No one would see that vehicle and believe that the occupants survived. God is great!

Phones › Re: The type of phone you use is a reflection of who you are. by Tinyemeka(m): 7:37am On Jan 05, 2016*. Modified: 8:10am On Jan 05, 2016 |
Toks2008: Phones they say are just necessities and not luxury but in many parts of the world especially in Nigeria, many people see phones as luxury and they tend to want to use the very expensive ones even when they can't afford it and knowing fully well that any phone can be stolen no matter how well you guard it.This has made me believe that indeed the type of phone we use goes a long way to tell us about who we are.
Some will say its a gift but then most times, the source of the gift is also a pointer to your personality So if you meet any guy or lady,it is very easy to know their personality just by taking a look at the cost of the phone the person uses in comparison with the person's financial status especially in Nigeria..How?
1.A Guy or lady who works but uses an expensive phone that costs higher than their monthly salary is wasteful.
2.A jobless lady who uses an I-phone 6 or very expensive phone is either a runs girl or has rich parents while a jobless guy who uses an I-phone 6 or a very expensive phone must be a yahoo guy or has very rich parent.
3.A gainfully employed man or woman who uses phones quite cheaper than their monthly salary is very prudent.
4.People who brag about their love for expensive phones irrespective of their income are proud and extravagant.
5.A very financially ok person who uses phones less than 10k is very secretive and could be hiding something.
6.Anyone who uses a phone that is binded by rubber or taped is terribly broke.
You can add yours... Lol. No 6 isn't really true o. I have this small Nokia (like 1100) that holds sentimental value for me. The phone has suffered in my hand. The battery is very powerful so I still use it sometimes. Rubber band and all. Even after haven bought 3 smartphones for others. I even get a weird sense of swag when I use the phone sometimes. |

Bollinger: Come on people. Use your heads. It is obvious that a lot of the pages in the Bible are either missing or incomplete. For example, In the book of Genesis, God created Adam and Eve and they had two sons. Then all of a sudden there are millions of people gallivanting all over the planet. Who did Cain and Abel sleep with that enabled the planet multiply so rapidly? . They lived for hundreds of years. Adam and Eve had other children besides Cain, Abel and Seth. Sisters inclusive. |

antibiafra: Biafran fanatics on my social networks has decided to let good reasoning and the truth reign in their lives...bombarding me with funny justifications for protest acts and how they are being marginalized. Lol, na now una know say una dey marginalized?...Former governor of Abia state received millions abi billions of allocation and lots of internal revenues, use am sponsor himself n family and well wishers, Aba no even get one good road...and that is called...? Igbo governors go dey for seat and will work and give contracts to only his family or close relations without sending other people dat are worthy to be contracted, and you call that...? I saw lots of medical students travelling to as far as kano and kaduna to submit their cvs for intern posts in federal medical hospitals there whereas there are lots of federal medical centres here and general hospital, I was forced to ask why the migration to such a troubled region for green pasture and they said, "if u are not related to someone in d hospital or if u don't have a letter from a top senator or someone in authority, u can never get an intern post."...now dat just an intern post, how about the proper employment post, I wonder if na president go give letter then...and that is called...? These are just a few dat I can write here...I must b honest with u all, till the we igbos learn to love each other, there can never b biafra even if we are given biafra, we will still go to war amongst each other...igbo is d most divide ethic group in Africa...a yoruba man will feel better to talk with his brother in yoruba, and hausa man will love u just because u spoke hausa to him...you can never speak to ur fellow igbo man for just 2mins without hearing pidgin or english...some chicks will even add phonetics to the little igbo they speak. I would've written dis in igbo, but quote me anywhere only 10% of the igbos I have here will b able to read it. No one grows flowers in umuahia...people grow wat they can eat. I understand the points you made, but Umuahia does not represent all of Ala Igbo. |
