He said, “This is a corona case and the school is not involved. It has nothing to do with the university. What happened was that he (Jacob) took Sniper and after taking it, the security was informed. He was initially talking, but suddenly he collapsed.

Nairalanders, please the right term in this case is Coroner and not Corona.

They have totally different meanings.

All levies are government imposed by the regulator, I don't know of any banks here who can charge for a service without prior consent of the national regulator and EU.

When AIB charged every account in Ireland 1 euro it was made to refund every single penny because it did not have a right to do so. The regulators here weild big sticks and use them very often, I work in telecoms and can tell you of weekly fines I know of from the regulator. It's usually 5000 euro for minor infractions per incident.

Ever wonder why some business interests in UK want out of EU !
Good. So those are charges for services rendered.

The N50 I talked about was introduced February this year by the FG through the CBN. Charged to the recipient of any deposit above N1,000 (you might as well call it all deposit transactions because the volume of deposit transactions less than N1,000 is negligible). These charges go to CBN and are not retained by the banks.

There are other charges for services rendered here which you may not be aware of (Acct Maint Chrgs, VAT on AMC, ATM card issuance fee, annual chrg on card, N65 per transaction when you use your card on another bank ATM more than thrice a month, cash handling charges (which goes to CBN), to mention a few.

So it sounds extremely absurd (my personal opinion) when they'll introduce charges just for being the recipient of an inflow which is your due. Even sounds illegal to me. But it's the government. What can we do? undecided

P.S. This alter ego of yours is way more preferable to the other "f**ktardic" one. At least you didn't insult me. smiley

Someone complained of being charged for bank transactions 50 naira, and I'm amazed because every time I use an ATM machine I get charged about 10 cents and I have a bank levy of 23 euro or so yearly. If I own a cheque book that's another matter.

If I use my bank card abroad on certain ATM machines or POS it's a 2-4 euro charge
Are you talking about bank-imposed or Government imposed surcharges?

All I see is talk, talk and more empty talk.

Fuel is still selling at N150/ltr, exchange rates have gone to the dogs, economic indices have all gone South except the inflationary rate which trailed exchange rates and price of fuel.

The C-in-C claiming to be the Petroleum minister doesn't know what to do while the Finance minister has engaged Ghost Mode and gone underground even in the face of worsening conditions.

There is this state that received N6m as FAAC allocation for the month of February. Belongs to the same party that Buhari mandated its states to build so so thousand houses. See why I said he's just yapping away?

Even the construction of mud houses of that number would not be possible in these current fiscal environment.

Dude'll just be embarrassing Nigerians everyday.

BusinessRe: Difference Between Incorporation Year And Established Year? by Tinyemeka(m): 12:59am On Mar 24, 2016
jaz:
ive read quite a bit of comments and must say i'm amused. lots of incorrect info being passed around. let me clarify a few points.

- the Law governing establishment and management of a business enterprise, whether sole proprietorship, partnership, limited companies, public entities, is the "Companies and Allied Matters Act" of Nigeria

- According to Part B, Section 573 (1) of CAMA" "Every individual, firm or corporation having a place of business in Nigeria and carrying on business under a business name shall be registered..." so once you establish even a shop you are required by law to register with CAC. this is further corroborated in Section 21 (1c) of CAMA.

- Date of establishment is also the same as the date of incorporation because no company can operate in Nigeria without registration
You've just given a textbook definition.

There are a thousand and one established businesses operating within that locality of yours, which as we speak are yet to be incorporated. Sure they can't run corporate accounts, do not pay tax recognized by the FIRS, but pay tenement, waste management, business registration/renewal fees, etc, to the state government.

They are businesses running, but are yet to be incorporated by CAC.

That last statement of yours should be restricted to companies. A business can be established and running, long before it becomes incorporated.

Year of Establishment This is the year you Established a.k.a the year you Hammer.

cool

Dont Thank me, thank God.

EDITED:: Okay, so after being called out by some people for being unserious, I have decided to be serious.. SO SERIOUSLY SPEAKING NOW

OP, since you are confused with the Establishment date, I will give you an example.. Have you seen a FirstBank Sign? Example below..

https://www.bellanaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/FirstBank.jpg

Thats what they are asking. That date may not be the same as the Date it got incorporated. Infact it shouldnt be the same as the incorporation date.

Many Businesses have signs with the 'Est. Since 9120', e.t.c.. The Date of Incorporation may be Older or Younger than the date of Establishment.

For my company, the date of Incorporation is 3 years older than the date of Establishment.

I hope this answers your question..

Cc: Ujsizzle & franciskane. I hope you guys are cool now.. grin Please keep me in your prayers.. I think I am actually Mad.
You still didn't answer his question. angry

@OP, there are some things you may need to query wiki instead of coming to waste time on NL.

Year of Incorporation: The year you register the business as a separate legal entity recognized by law. Meaning your business can sue or be sued, is recognized by the government and therefore required by law to pay tax. In Naija's business environment, it's the year you registered your business with the Corporate Affairs Commission.

The normal banking you know at Branch level. Provision of banking services to individuals, small businesses as against corporates and large organizations.

i once dreamt of becoming a footballer, few years later it changed, then i started craving for music. It got to a point, i decided i wasn't going to pursue the latter anymore and decided i'ld rather focus on becoming an artist (Sketches, drawings, paintings, etc). A more matured me started loving finance, so i changed from pursuing a career in artistry to studying accounting After my university, i came to realise art is my thing so i learnt photography.

I have this feeling i'll crave for something else after photography.
Finance is sweet and relatable. Accounting is boring. I'm sure you'd have stuck around if you'd done Finance.

Didn't have anything in mind until late secondary school when I decided to be a medical doctor. Couldn't get the admission immediately and when I missed an opportunity (after roasting my brain and scoring 277 in JAMB), i dumped that career path (thank God for that).

Upon graduation, I had this dream of seeing myself getting ready for work early in the morning, lights everywhere (standby gen), everything moving smoothly. At this point post-BSc, I still wasn't sure of what I wanted as a career but it definitely wasn't what I studied in school.

Fast-forward to now, after several years of retail banking I've come to the conclusion that I wasted some portion of my time (Father forgive me), or maybe I didn't act fast enough. My target (working on it) is to switch to investment banking and subsequently go on to start my own hedge fund, though I fear time is running fast against me. I still know it's possible. Same way I achieved my initial dream. So help me God.

Shey una say make we talk our mind.

Yeah, heard that Enugu is experiencing something like a deceleration but the last time I drove through from Abuja it appeared the 9th Mile Bypass was through and I saw a few urban road renewals by RCC, I think.
Enugu has slowed down. In the heat of the campaign period, it was said that Ugwuanyi would have to use the entire period of his first term in compensating all those who contributed to ensuring that he would win the election. 9th Mile bypass is the fulfillment of one of his campaign promises.

For now everything seems to be going at a gentle pace, which I suspect may be attributable to the general paucity of funds. Better than nothing.
