Did you mean ''10.14% for 180days and 8.7% for 91days'' are calculated base on period of time or annual? Skye, Uba & First Bank promised 5-6% and it is calculated per annum.

I was able to meet up with an Aiico Capital representative she promised me 13% but will still calculate my return per annum. i.e Principal x Rate x Time divide by 365. Was looking for a fixed rate for any period of time!!!

The rates are per annum. Longer tenors usually attract higher yields.

TB auctions are held Wednesdays bi-weekly.
This week's Wed 4/11/15 is an auction date. So you can save the date and count every two weeks henceforth.

Your instruction must however reach your banker before 4pm, the Tuesday before.

With the much-touted liquidity in the market, it seems the only way the interest rate on T-bills can go is south! cool

My brother, I needed to assist my mother just this morning to make her bid and was shocked at what I saw as results of the last auction. 10.14% for 180days and 8.7% for 91days, if my memory serves me right. I was shocked to say the least.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Tiger-Battery Powered Stove Spotted In Aba by Tinyemeka(m): 8:51am On Nov 01, 2015
Denn:
This is a motorised charcoal stove

The motorised blower fan pulls in air from the duct above the blower and pushes it to the ignited charcoal. The forced air provides more oxygen and the charcoal burns faster.

If you look at the pictures clearly, you would see the charcoal burning
WOW! shocked

Instead of fanning, just hit the switch. I'd never thought of that.

I'm not being sarcastic or deliberately insulting, but I believe these issues are a fallout of the general uncertainty in the financial system. An evidence of lack of direction. Lack of leadership. An absence of fiscal policy guidance.

Exactly my thought dude......theses mofos are completely deluded......They want to lay claim to the SS......Just because a river has a source in the SE but which flows through the SS before emptying into the ocean, they want to lay claim to the whole river. This to me is the definition of grand delusion!!!!. I support them having their Biafra.....but the greater Nigeria should crush any land grabbing antiques they might be cooking up regarding the SS which is still part of the so called Nigerian zoo!!!!
Are you speaking for the SS as a bonafide indigene or you just felt like making yourself heard?

I also factored in the bends in the river. This is definitely possible. I believe this should be seriously considered by some "south east" (Igbo) investors and basically creating a new river on the Aba river which is like only a stream now, can you imagine a port in Aba directly connected to the coast.
How would revenue be generated to justify the project costs?
If it were to be handled by private investors, the government would come in with their taxes and cut into profits.
On the other hand, the government of present Nigeria would hardly consider executing a project of such magnitude.

Private investors can lobby HOR and Senate members to push it forward.

Just saying.

PoliticsRe: CBN Fines FIRST BANK And UBA Billions For TSA Hiding NNPC FUNDS!! by Tinyemeka(m): 10:01am On Oct 26, 2015
bushdoc9919:
Well,

1.TSA was a PDP initiative.

2.The problem is that we are already suffering from reduced liqudity....oil price per barrel fell from $130 in July 2014 to $50 and below now. That's a lot of money gone. And that means that government has to be savings savvy.....or else there won't be money to spend at all.

3.The real problem is that we are an oil dependent economy. As a result....we overimport, and we do not have enough industries.....which is why we do not have enough jobs in the first place. The fall in oil price means we either have to a)Diversify the economy or b)Keep on the old track and hope that the oil price shoots up again (not going to happen).

4.I agree the govt does not have a coherent policy. But then again, the problem is that there isn't enough money.....so the government is trying to make sure they have some money saved....especially as you know...oil prcies have fallen and we do not have the cash....by enfrcing TSA, bringing in import restrictions, and tightening up everything. That is why FIRS's new head is the guy who tripled Lagos IGR....and why the new Customs boss' first word is that ''I am here to make more money for the treasury''.

5.In my opinion, if I was Buhari's head economic showrunner.....I would 1) end subsides 2) enforce TSA 3) Spend more on public transport 4)Cut excess in the Civil service 5)Run an austerity government 6) Diversify....diversify. 7) Punish corruption seriously. No buts.
Your 5th point: Laudable and commendable but unfortunately, smart economists do not do well in poltics, neither do smart politicians do well in macro-economics. Just a few exceptions exist.
PoliticsRe: CBN Fines FIRST BANK And UBA Billions For TSA Hiding NNPC FUNDS!! by Tinyemeka(m): 9:53am On Oct 26, 2015
Don't know why UBA tends to be in the news for the wrong reasons.

Initially, it was non-confirmation of transfer request (all the more involving a high profile PEP). Now it's blatant disregard of a CBN directive which even originated from the President himself.

So other banks which complied with transfer closure of the MDA accounts are mumus abi?

People are taking note o. Shows the strength of Corporate Governance practised in these institutions.
TravelRe: Road Accident At Otukpa, Benue State (photos) by Tinyemeka(m): 10:25pm On Oct 25, 2015
Damn!

This same thing happens at Ninth Mile and more frequently at a bad spot called Ugwu Onyeama in Enugu. There is a very long stretch of express way which slopes down to a bridge. At the bridge, vehicles usually slow down due to several bad spots there. Unfortunately, a tanker might be coming from behind, having gone down the slope for a distance of about 4kms on worn out brakes. Tanker'd just clear everything in its path. Sometimes throwing the vehicles into the steep ditch along the side of the road.

May God help us. Especially as we've commenced this notorious ember period.

When you are dancing swaggarliciously to the offering box in your white agbada then suddenly remember that the offering is still in your pocket. You then struggle to bring it out from your pocket, with just four feet to goal line. Gbam! You finally succeed, but along with your offering, also comes rumpled and raggedy looking pieces of N5 and N10 which flutter to the floor in all their wretched and poverty-stricken glory. Remember they emerged from a white agbada pocket o. grin

Its so pathetic and demoralizing that we leave in a country where certificate is the most sort after by our indigenous firms and even foreign firms. I sat down after going through NYSC and My parents are already looking at me in 3D as regards what's next.

I submitted my spiral bind C.V but the Secretary of that firm quickly glanced through my details but was disappointed to see 2:2 (3.32 CGPA) which stated in it and told me straight-up that I shouldn't be expecting a call!! I was pissed off, do u mean 3.32 CGPA is a poor result? I just went out and up till now after 3month no call from them.

The question is where are we going in this country? Two(2) factors all companies display while placing recruitment adverts; Your Age (24yrs nd below) and supposed good grade (1st class or 2:1). Now tell me are graduates with 2:2 really that lazy while in school? The Answer is simply 'NO' so many factors are really involved, I've seen a brilliant guy in school who felt sick on the day of his set last papers which sucked his GP heavily.

If you've got your 1st class or 2:1 and you are gainfully employed in a cool company with good pay lucky you and I wish you all the best, for those still looking out for a good job the lord shall answer "OUR" prayers but doing something with your saved Allawee is not a bad idea anyway!!

Happy Weekend!!

Or you just wanted to act funny?

There are ao many companies that recruit B.Sc 2.2 graduates within the 27yrs age bracket. You just have to pass their tests and interviews.

You are putting your CGPA there. Are you trying to tell them that you almost made 2.1? Be kiaful! angry

My brother, our polithiefcians were spending Billions of our Naira without even pricing the properties, the stolen cash was driving them nuts, so common sense was non-existent. And you're correct, with the #140m for just empty plot of land, one can buy a good house in most advanced countries, US, UK, Canada etc. I purchased a 4Br/3.5Ba house in a prime area of TX 10yrs ago for less than $500k, so go figure.
You actually got an extremely good bargain in that purchase. That sum wouldn't even cover the cost of land in a choice location here. Well I wouldn't know for 10yrs ago.

Those politicians have also discovered the lure of purchasing properties abroad so they are already in the game.

The point I was trying to make though was: Why commit your money to purchase property a politician acquired through fraudulent means? When you know the ownership may be revoked by Govt? It's like going out to buy land in which you know the ownership is being disputed. Dangerous.
