CultureRe: I Hate Being An African American Woman by TisaBone: 8:23am On Feb 08, 2012
I am not trying to be African. I am very proud to be an AA, so I will not reject my culture. I am merely curious about Africans, after all, they are from the Motherland, just as my ancestors were. I actually have nothing against Africans, and many that I have come in contact with have no problems with me either. Partly because I don't seek to judge, only learn about different cultures. Many foreigners I run into, I make an effort to learn at least one word in their native tongue, if nothing more than "thankyou"
I admire Africans, and believe that they are some of the slickest people on the face of the earth. much is to be learned from them. We should not focus on our differences, but rather our similarites. After all, the common thread that links all people of African decent, is that no matter where you go, whether it be in Africa, America, or Brazil, us black folks are always suffering. We are dying from AIDS, we are victims of poverty, and oppressors who seek to hold us back and down? Why is this?

Because we are a strong people who have persevered. In America, we won our freedom. In Africa, we were kings and queens, with knowledge of astronomy and mathematics. Timbuktu was a place where people came, to seek knowlege. They claim that the ancient Egyptians were Asiatic, but that is wrong!!! They steal from us, then make us believe that we are nothing!!

I was once talking to a aquaintance of mine who is white. There was a certain man who was Nigerian, and she mistakenly referred to him as African American. I quickly corrected her. Do you know what her response was? " Same difference."

It is us that draw lines and make distinctions, when we really should be working together.

We are all Niggas.

I am a nigga who resides in America.

You are a nigga who resides in Africa.

hmmmm, God is for real people.i relocated to uk about 7yrs now,ve had volume's of Dreams good and bad,i'm a converted muslim to xtianity i'm a believer but not a Born again,i had this overwhelming dream, few days before d dream my wife who is a foreign national accused me of singing praise and worship songs between 2-4am midnight powerfully in my sleep, sometim's in d week at about about 3am,i got up crying loudly singing anointing song oh  MY GOD is for real non-believers,i saw a beautiful puzzled like human shape in a cloud carrying a baby soaked from head to toes in Anointing oil,oh my God,it was Powerful brethern, the feeling is out of extra ordinary,i pray d non believers in dis forum to encounter something greater!
Kindly tell me d meaning of this dream if you are bless in interpreting dreams.

in response to your query about what this dream means, its very simple actually: you say you are not born again, but that human like figure with the baby in its arms represents you being born again and made new. Although you dont feel this way, God is encouraging you to accept him, to come towards him. The choice is yours, as that is what Christianity is all about. God will not force you to adhere to his doctrines, but if you do, he promises rewards beyond measure. By rewards, I dont mean material possessions, what I mean is peace. That baby annointed in Holy Oil represents what you COULD be, if you accept, and fully embrace Christianity. You will be as a baby. You will be made new, you will be made whole. You will be protected, as a babe in it's mother's arm, with no worries at all, but being fed the milk.  And the milk is the nourishment that can only be obtained from God. He is a healer, and I am here to testify that he can fix what is broken!!!! Hallelujah!!!!!

Before I decided to respond to this post, I got down on knees and prayed to God to put the right words on my heart, which would then travel down to my fingertips, thereby reaching those who were willing to receive and listen to what it is that I have to say, once I press "enter". I am not hallucinating, nor am I crazy. God has given me special abilities, to see that what is beyond the capabilities of many humans. But I know I am not the only one who sees. I see the good, and along with that I also see the bad.

Why bad things happen to good people? I do not know the answer to that. All I know is that everyone in this world has their own cross to bear. We must not fall under the weight of it. We may stumble, but we must not give up. Know that as we go through our trials and tribulations, we are not alone. He is with us every step of the way. Even as we move through darkness, He is still there.

I am not trying to convert anyone, I merely seek to share my experiences with others. Many people keep their mouths closed about these sorts of things for fear of being called crazy or looney, but that is a risk that I am willing to take in order to spread the good news. Also, I do not have any problem with other religions. You believe what you believe, and as long as you are happy and not hurting anyone, more power to you. I dont condon what those muslims did to the Christians in Nigeria on Christmas day. But you must understand, there are many demagogues and rogues who twist the "word" to suit their own needs, influencing those with a need to follow and be led, to do thier bidding. But know this is not of God. This is not what He intended. It does nothing but arouse His anger, and believe you me, they will pay for their iniquities. God does not like ugly.

In closing, I want to share an experience of mine with you all. Last week, I had the pleasure with talking to a lady who was down and out. Her husband has left her, and she was very distraught. Now I dont know why, but for as long as I can remember, people have always felt comfortable enough to confide in me and tell me things that for so long, have resided in the deepest recesses of their souls. When people meet me, they no longer feel the need to keep these things bottled up inside, and I am more than happy to lend an ear. This lady was muslim, and she was questioning her faith. I urged her not to give up, because God never gives us more than we can handle. She asked me why she was going through such hardships. I had no answers. God works in mysterious ways, and I long ago gave up trying to decipher his actions. The whys no longer matter, and I imparted this belief to her. She asked me to pray for her. I dont know much about Islam, so I asked her if she wanted me to pray to Allah. But she said God and Allah was the same being. I then asked her did she want me to pray for her right then and there. So we prayed together. After I was done, I asked her did she feel better. She said yes, and thanked me profusely. I told her there was no need for that, I was only doing what my religion urged me to do, which is to love my neigbor as I love myself. Long after we parted ways, I began to think long and hard of our chance encounter. It then occured to me that a muslim and a christian had actually prayed together!!!! We were actually able to join hands and fellowship!!! Nothing else mattered but that connection to the one above, which we both sought!!!! God was amongst us. God was there. He had covered us both. He had joined two factions. And we were as one. This, my friends, is the meaning of life, and why we are placed on this earth.

I like Bruno Mar's album because it encompasses a wide range of genres. He exposed me to types of music that I normally would not listen to.

I bought his album.

My favorite songs on the lp are

First Time

Just the Way You Are

Liquor Store Blues

His voice is beautiful, and the content of his music is not misogynistic, which is rare in today's music.

I haven't enjoyed an album so much since the "Best of Keith Sweat"

As far as his looks, he's cute, but he looks short. Besides he looks like he spits cheesy come ons and lines that only white girls would go far. That's why he got his heart broken in "Grenade" because he thought he was such hot stuff and a player, and he ran into someone who took him for a ride, and made him realize that his game was not as tight as he thought it was.

@ la Parisienne

You DON'T have to sacrifice femininity for independence. Most people have this image of some butch woman who is powerful, successful, and who loves punanny. But when I think of a successful, independent woman, I think of Beyonce. is she gay? And thank god, she had the sense to marry someone who had just as much, if more money than her. Britney Spears she wasn'tBesides, a woman can still do little things to make herself feel sexy, powerful, or not so powerful, doing someting naughty like not wearing any panties underneath that business suit.
RomanceRe: Why Is The World So Unfair To Women? by TisaBone: 8:27am On Feb 02, 2012
This is a mans world but men do av their own challenges like taking care of the family paying 80% of the bills e.t.c

In America things are different. I know too many single mothers who take care of children AND go to school AND go to work.

Then like everywhere in the world I'm sure, you have the men that are lazy bums who allow their women to bring home the bacon while they sit on their derrieres watching tv and drinking beer all day.

And then you have independent women who do it all by themselves and dont ask any one for ANYTHING,

I was watching a documentary on a South African woman, and she said that she knew her husband was cheating. and when he was on the road, she was sure he was not using condoms. then he began to get sick. so she got herself tested, and she was hiv positive. She said she stayed with him because she LOVED him and that secretly, she was glad that he had aquired HIV, because maybe then he would  finally stop cheating. Only he never did.

I dont think life is more difficult for women, I just think that women take entirely too much from men. If they stopped this, then maybe things would be a lot more fair for us. Maybe if we stopped being ruled by our emotions, we could maintain some sort of control in romantic relationships.
Anyways, let me conclude this rant. In closing, might I say, that life is not really all that hard for women in particular, its hard for everyone in general, but we as women must not think negatively. If we only choose our men more carefully, then perhaps we could save ourselves some heartache and pain.  Also, I dont believe women have to choose between a career and men. If you truly want both, then you will do BOTH and make it work somehow. Finally, the only way life is unfair to women is if we believe that life is unfair. If you continue to think this way, it is the end before it has even began.

Seriously, you are really paying attention to what Lil Wayne says? The same man that calls a non-relative "daddy?" and who kissed another grown man on the lips? Shame on you for even listening to what he has to say.

I'm African American too, and no one can tell me anything negative about my heritage or that I am less of a person because of my race and nationality. I'm dark skinned (very dark at that) and sure I got teased. My nickname in school was Shaka Zulu. My feelings were hurt, and I often came home crying. One day,my aunt hollered at me demanded I quit that crying. "Dont you know that Shaka Zulu was a king?" After this incident I slowly but surely began to accept myself for what and who I was. I was black, I was going to be proud of that, and that no one would ever again be the cause of me bowing my head low in shame. What did I have to be ashamed of? My people have been through hell, and have overcome so many obsticles. We were slaves in the land that was built on our backs. Furthermore,if black is so ugly, then why did Thomas Jefferson, second president of the United States, have a black mistress named Sally Hemings who he proceeded to have five children with?
You are a victim of the American establishment which has effectively convinced blacks that they are worthless. Hell, the Africans immigrate to the states even believe these stereotypes ,that they are spoon fed via American televison programming, about about AA's.
And what's this about you not liking your natural hair? Chile please. I have dreadlocks and do you know how many compliments I get from both black AND white people? Just today I was walking to school, and a boy called out to me "Hi Ms. Natural."Another man called out to me "Hi Queen." So you see there is nothing wrong with being black. It's all in how you carry yourself and what you think of YOU. You care too much about what other races think of you. So what, let them say what they want.

Last but not least, don't you realize that there are plenty of whites who are on our side. You just have to identify them, and make use of them. It is an added bonus if they are Jewish, because as quiet as it's kept, Jews are the ones who really rule the world.

For centuries, black folks have been cleaning up after white folk's mess. After the Bush fiasco, who did they choose as the next president? A proud black man with the charisma and fire of a southern preacher, who could make you believe that the sky is green. That's what we needed to boost the American morale;a black man.

So all in all, what I am trying to get at, is that you really need to know your history. Honey, what I need you to do is look up some of these people:

Garrett Morgan

Phyllis Wheatley

Ben Carson

Langston Hughes

Oscar Micheaux

Ivan Van Sertima ( he's not an African American, but read some of his books, and you will know the truth! That we were once kings and Queens. Many ancient Egyptians were indeed black, and they have left us the great pyramids as their legacy. (the same pyramids that the whites have no clue how they were created, so they lie and create documentaries claiming that they had to have been constructed by aliens)

Also, may I suggest that you go and buy some video's of the comedian Paul Mooney. I love him because he pisses white people off =) he even made it on CNN!

You need to wake up,but more importantly, LOVE YOURSELF!!!!!

if and when you ever do see these sorts of things, it makes you a believer. no one can tell me there is no god. i have been in the prescence of a being not of this world. Something that you can not comprehend unless you see it for yourself. Perhaps one day you will be able to see the glory that is Him for yourself.

But there is another side to that coin. I have also been in the prescence of evil entitities as well. It is not a very good feeling at all. It feels as though the life is being sucked out of you. I was reading my bible one day, and suddenly I felt a prescense so evil, and I was afraid. I did not know what to do. The only thing I knew to do was call my friend who was also a believer. A wicked voice whispered in my heart " no one is going to answer your call. you might as well hang up" . But I didn't listen to that voice, and I did not hang up. My friend and I prayed together, and the holy spirit filled my very being, and all of the fear fled my body, and just like that, that entity that had put such darkness in my heart vanished, as though it had never been there in the first place.

So for all of you believers out there, know that the enemy ( satan) is a liar, and will try to convince you that there is no help to be found, and that you should give up. That is Lucifer's soul purpose. He wants you to lose hope, so that you stop trying to do the right thing, eventually succumbing to the pressures and the ways of the world. He wants you to obey the flesh, which is weak, instead of fasting and prayer, and faith, which is the only thing that can deliver you from your sins.

Not too long ago, I was sleeping. Then suddenly out of nowhere, I woke up. My room was filled with the most beautiful, brightest light I have ever seen in my life. There is no word in the english language to describe this light excepy "unexplainable". The light literally took my breath away. As I gasped for breath, the light got brighter and brighter. Then as quickly as I had awakend, I went back to sleep. I had no idea what it was that I had seen. I asked my church brother what it was. (he has also seen these types of things) and he told me it was an angel, that god had sent to me.

So my question to you is, have you ever seen an angel, or something divine, that could come from no one else but God?
RomanceRe: Why Is The World So Unfair To Women? by TisaBone: 5:09am On Feb 02, 2012
Well I'm from Indiana. I was raised by my grandfather, and he told me women could do anything that a man could do. only that they drove too fast. and some of the smartest women he knew (career wise) were dumb when it came to men. and he warned me not to be that way. he told me never to take no ish off a a man. so i dont think that women have it worse than men. Life is what you make it. Besides, the easiest thing a woman could do is lie and say that a man hit her, and he would immediately go to jail. if a man hits you, women you dont have to take that. if he hits you, all you have to do is wait until he is watching tv or playing ps3, then you sneak up behind him and hit him upside the head with something. (preferably a pot or pan, until he is unsconscious)i bet he will never hit you again! And if he cheats on you, you can always take him to the cleaners and leave him with nothing but the drawers on his butt. So actually, i dont think life is all that unfair to women at all.

If you are in Nigeria, I really dont know what to tell you, because I dont know how things work over there. But there has got to be something you can do to a man who doesn't treat you right. If a man mistreated me in nigeria, i would probably poison him, or piss in his food. At least that way I would get some sort of satisfaction.
Christianity EtcWe As Christians Must Learn To Turn The Other Cheek by TisaBone(op): 1:35am On Dec 14, 2011
This is so hard to do at times. Especially when people know that you are a Christian. Many times people will try to test you, just to get a response from you, so that they can discredit you and your faith, and say that you are a hypocrite, that you do not adhere to the doctrines taught in the bible, and that you only use christianity as a shield, to hide behind, while still doing as you please. Although I know many so called Christians like this, they are the hardest to recognize. Time and time again, the true believers are the ones who become frustrated, voice their frustrations, and in the end are made to be the villain. So my question to all of my fellow worshippers, how do you deal with the daily stressors of life, in the context of dealing with people who dont believe what you believe, and because they dont believe what you believe, try to make your life as hard as possible. What can be done to stay strong in the faith when faced with people and situations that are ungodly, while you try your hardest to be of God?
Christianity EtcRe: But How Did Satan Get Back InTo Heaven To See God - Job 2:1-2 by TisaBone: 3:04pm On Dec 13, 2011
wherever god and satan met at, the fact of the matter remains, is that god wanted to know what satan was up to, what satan was doing. and he keeps track of these things, because satan can only do what god allows him to do. he has to run his plans by god before he is able to do anything. thats why in times of peril we should still remain strong in our faith. satan is a tool of Gods used to test our faith in HIM. so really we have nothing to fear from this entity called satan. His time is limited and he knows this. that is why he wants to take and damn as many souls as he can, because like most things that do wrong, they dont want to go down alone. Misery truly does love company.

god loves all of his creations. you are correct. why do you think that man is suffering now? With Global Warming, the ozone layer getting thinner and thinner with each passing year, and forests being cut down to make room our man made sky scrapers, etc. There is a natural order, and man disturbs this order. You are correct, no creation is better than the other. that is why we suffer here why we are on earth, because time and time again men think they are god, when there is only one living god. the supreme being and creator of everything.

but while there no one one living thing better than the other, I also believe in survival of the fittest. Human beings, and our ancestors have been around for millions of years. but there was also a time when men did not walk this earth. in the time of dinosaurs and other creatures who were at the top of the food chain. Now it is human beings. This is the natural order. God has entrusted us, and given us dominion over this earth. But time and time again we fail, and destroy ourselves instead. That is why in the end there will be no earth, and other forms of life will take hold and eventully replace life as we now know it.

But until that time, the purpose of human beings is to try to do the right thing while we are on this earth. Know that we are born into sin, and in sin we will die. But also to know that death is not the end, only the beginning. And those who believed in HIM without seeing with the naked eye, shall find peace in the herafter.

god is everything. a mere mortal could never comprehend. someone said that there must be a balance between good and evil. just as good always existed, so always has evil. it was the knowledge of good and evil that god initially tried to shield man from. we were created in his image, and god created us for the sheer pleasure, because it was pleasing to him. we were meant to be the embodiment of him. all of us have a piece of god in us. whether they be black or white.

the fallen angel lucifer that we colloquially know as satan is a creation of god. not many people want to face that fact. but satan did not come into existence by himself. Satan is a NECESSARY EVIL. Satan has a PURPOSE. and that is to lie, steal and destroy. HE IS THE EMBODIMENT of EVIL AND CHAOS. The exact opposite of God, whom God did create to give Mankind the CHOICE. and the freewill, to CHOOSE whether they want to do the right thing. Or we can do wrong as well. That's up to us. That's how much God loves us, that he does not wish to impose his will on us. He wants us to come to him freely.
Christianity EtcRe: What Colour Is God by TisaBone: 4:23pm On Dec 11, 2011
proof is hard to come by in this life. and god isn't of this world. so the the answer is no. but really, god is not a person, so why would he truly have a skin "color" ? god  just is. people need to stop focusing on what they think he may look like and focus on the message.

but at the end of the day

more importantly

if God had a color, he would be the color of love (and water)

because

God is LOVE. (who's skin color is water)

but does love have a color? (that's like asking if water has a taste)

Or any boundaries?

Not that I know of.
