semid4lyfe:

Don't get it twisted. I'll be the first to admit Etuhu played well yesterday. . . .what I am saying is Sanni Kaita would have done better than Etuhu did had he been played in the Defensive Midfield position. Sanni Kaita is better than Dickson Etuhu in that Position. Forget Mikel. . .He can't play as our main holding player or  DM. . Mikel can't mark, is slow, lazy and lethargic. He can only be effective as a deep lying midfielder (for his pssing ability). . . something in the mould of Angelo Pirlo of AC Milan. . . that is playing ahead of a DM and just behind an offensive Midfielder. That way we harness all the strengths of our midfielders to our maximum advantage.
Am getting you twisted bruv, i will never be of the opinion that Kaita has more technicalities than Etuhu,as they are more intelligent than each other. You could see from yesterday's match that he is by far the best for NIgeria in that area.Do you wonder why he's Fulham's choice in that department? We all know the premiership does not thrive on sentiments,so he must be good to command that position week in week out.He clears the dirty mess, albeit technically.I really did not see where he was lethargic in yesterday's match as he was up and doing thru the duration of the match and so he does for club and country.Yesterday's match wasnt only about Etuhu, but that department is a vital one in modern football and am happy that we have someone to do it for us,thats why i have singled out Etuhu.Take it or not,we really dont have problems in the attacking department cos our best are the ones there presently, talking about Martins,Anichebe,Osaze,Obinna,Yak, they are the best Nigeria can produce at the moment.what we should worry about now is the midfield particularly in the attacking side of it.Trust if we have good midfielders, out strikers will perform. Our central defenders are the best crop the country can produce at the moment and they arent bad at the moment especially with the inclusion of Adeleye. But Taiwo is a suspect at the left.he runs upfront unable to recover in time and his markins are poor so also his crosses from the left flank was nothing to write home, but he could be worked up, But all in all, they played well as a team.
Music/Radio / Re: 2010 Hiphopworld Awards. The Winners Are… by tjadeba(m): 12:50am On May 31, 2010
no awards can be 100%, but i think hip hop world award is a lil bit balanced, only that they should have cut out MO Hits to like 1 or 2 awards, but am delighted that Lara George got something for her effort on her last album,so also Yori Yori. There is an oyinbo friend of mine who can sing yori yori from beginning to the end.she likes it so hard.she discovered it and likes it.Its a balanced award on the whole, but for mo hit's invasion, nothing much about Wande Cole's album
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Colombia Friendly (1 - 1) by tjadeba(m): 12:41am On May 31, 2010
am not sure most people concentrate on watching matches, but by far,Etuhu was the best ball winner in yesterday's match, no wonder he's a regular for his club, he is by far one of the shinning lights in yesterday's training (cos there were no fans to cheer either side) with Colombia, he did a yeoman's job breaking all the balls in the midfield, get him out and NIgeria are in danger, did you watch him against Hamburg in the Europa cup?both legs, i mean, am not his apologist, but credit must go to whoever deserves it, we need him,PERIOD!.

this man is asking for a job, not money, talk to him about working first, when he starts the job,you could go on from there to offer more assistance.I believe he should first get to abuja and see how/where he can live,as a man, nothing comes easy, and then get the 35K job, its on that premise that people promising to pay for his accommodation should do so

I feel the greivances of people wanting to know the exact state of the president, Beleive me,it is our civic responsibility to demand the state of the president's health in as much as he has not resigned his position, Forget the fact that there is an acting president now, Nigeria is not a banana republic and we should not turn it into one. This is a reason why the so-called men of God should have put in mind before accepting to visit him, Their visit to UMYA can never be private at this time, people pls think about that.
Be that as it may, what is the hue and cry about Oyedepo?is he not the same Oyedepo? Please leave the man and his gullible followers.Nigeria is the only place that these so-called men of God can operate because we are the most gullible people in the whole world, their phrase is always "do not question the man of God", "you are jealous of his success"-for heavens sake,he made this riches out of them. Most of these men of God operate just like Rev.King, the only difference being they do not flog their congregation and subject them to sexual exploitation, but  all other forms of exploitations do exist. These guys are con artists, they can operate only in Nigeria, I know they would always pray that we Nigerians do not get wise as a people,

hey Michelle,PUNCH NEWSPAPER in Nigeria has a wider reach,so also Tribune newspaper in the South-West of Nigeria where you certainly come from unlike the daily Trust Newspaper which i doubt its presence in Lagos n environs.in order for you not to waste time,i suggest you make contact with any of those two institutions. So also, light is an issue in Nigeria,so TV may just not penetrate as you would wish,

Well done Mr.ElRazur, i have never used a foul word on this forum on anyone, my emotions got the better part of me.I sympathise with family of the deceased.I hope all these killings abate. Its becoming too rampant in Nigeria. The security apparatus should wake up to their responsibilities, Its high time.Although the high unemployment rate in the country is not help, but people must be aware and be humane enough to stop shedding bloods of fellow human as if it were that of chicken or goat.

oyewolejos:

Your best bet would be to contact the IKUBABAYEYE OBA SIJUADE the OONI of IFE on this matter.Ife is the ancestral home of all the Yoruba people and no one else bears that name except he or she is from the Royal Family. All the Sijuade are from Nigeria and i think Ken should be a brother to the OONI of Ife.Try to get the contact info of the Ooni and give him a call.To the best of my ability i think your Dad is a medical Doctor and he his still alive so just look for ways to contact the royal family through media houses in Nigeria like The Nation,Punch,Sun or better still contact the Osun State Government as the OONI is the Permanent Chairman Osun State Traditional Council so they would know how to find your Dad.Be rest assured your Dad is alive.
Narrow down your search to the royal family as he might not be known as Ken in Nigeria but i think he his the owner of Sijuade Specialist Hospital in Akure which is a step away from my Family house
Good luck on your search.

@ oyewolejos, please note that the Dr.Sijuwade referred to here is about 80 something years old.He is infact an elder brother of the current Ooni of Ife.By 1975, the doctor was in private medical practise at Akure,so he couldnt be the Ken Siju(w)ade in question. Please confirm my little facts since his hospital n house is just a stone's throw away from your family house in Akure, thanks
Travel / Re: Please Help Me Find My Nigerian Father 'ken Sijuade' by tjadeba(m): 4:49pm On Mar 06, 2010
Simple case, cos you still know his hometown and name (first),there have been more complicated similar cases than yours that have been resolved, just your location may be a little barrier.a visit to the palace of the ooni will reveal where Ken Siju(w)ade is, at the moment. You could get in touch with any credible media house in Nigeria to help you do this, namely Punch,The Tribune,The Sun,The Nation all newspapers and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).You could google this from your end and make a move. Also, display your dad's pictures here, who knows, someone might just know him.Nairaland is a popular online forum in Nigeria. Also, pray! Wish you good luck in your search
Education / Re: 87 Students Bag First Class In UNILAG by tjadeba(m): 10:36am On Jan 30, 2010
from most comments on this thread, i could deduce that people have the impression that it is much easier to have good grades overseas than in Nigeria because they just award many first class each year to their students. My brothers and sisters, ask students overseas how much effort they put into studying especially in UK b4 those good grades are achieved. I can authoritatively inform you that in my school here, you have to work your butts off before you can score the good marks. Ask any University of Portsmouth student about the quality of education delivered and the grading system and they will tell you how hard it is and my friends in other UK varsities have said same of their own schools too,so i really do not know where people got the idea that a dull student in Nigeria will easily make a good grade here.Does anyone wonder why these school are highly ranked? is it that they only impart some stuffs into your head and at the end of your course, they dont test you based on what you have studied and they just dash you 1st class/2nd class?
My people, what they call course work and exams here is not easy o.You have to research well your topic and use a wide variety of text books, internet articles, newspapers and reference them appropriately,if not you are accused of plagiarism and they have different software for testing if you have used another person's work without referencing such. I know most will say that the facilities are there to help the students and the administrative and academic structure well organised to aid success, but still it aint easy, you need to use you brains well to succeed.Schools in Nigeria too can take the initiative of ensuring they have a good atmosphere conducive for knowledge, they really do not need much Government intervention for this.I beleive same is the reason why UNILAG have produced 87 first class students.they have good academic and administrative structures on ground.
To the issue of other nigerian schls not producing as many first class as UNILAG,i beleive it has to do with the mindset of the system, one knows what will happen at the end when a lecturer has declared at the beginning of a semester that A is for God,B is for him/her,C is for the very brilliant and D is for the good students.E is for all others. No sane academician would deny a worthy student what is due to him.thats the height of insanity not anywhere near learning. The reasons are just so many,
So i give kudos to UNILAG for this because i am aware of the integrity of the school,so there is no doubt that the students deserve it. One could see the contributions of one or two of their students (2good n co) who didnt even make 1st class, on this thread and the contributions of one or two other people from Ilorin and OAU (no disrespect to these two ivory towers) and see the distinction.

they have taught us the lesson of our life! when they were clamourinr for Amodu's sack, people were saying, they should leave him n let him do his work, can you see him now? he lost because he didnt take the right players to the tourney, He is not a good manager,he cant even ginger his half fit guys to perform extra ordinarily. He is a bad manager. Those boys could have done better under a good manager, that i can bet with anybody anyday.

He cant take and shouldnt take us to the world cup, i am not even sure we would get outta this group,
