Guys, it's been one hell of a ride for my sister who married a JW man. My sister made the error of getting into because we were indoctrinated by our Christian values to believe humanity comes before religion and that JWs believe in Christ. Alas! This has been the wrongest move. The JW doctrine is anti-christ. The husband doesn't allow my sister and the children to join us in family celebrations (Christmas, birthdays etc). The doctrine is too rigid and draconian. Our Lord Jesus never discriminated. They are not tolerant of other Christian sects which is bizarre to me. Like someone said, they have been warned not to collect Christian tracts but can freely distribute Awake

Career / Re: I Am Approaching 40 And Am Scared My Dreams Are Not Realistic by tjadeba(m): 5:02pm On Apr 28, 2023
Don't overflog things because you will turn 40 soon.

1. You already have a clear plan to improve yourself by training on how to become a software engineer. You now need to dedicate more of your resources to this cause. Avoid excuses around what you need to invest in this i.e no data

2. You don't even need to have more kids. 2 is just fine and you will appreciate having this number in the long run.

At 39, I had serious debt and so many other challenges and in-between I got married. 6 years down the line, the story is just opposite of that. There is still time. Just be focused on your plans . Shallom

Thank you for this information, do you have any regrets doing a second undergraduate degree?

I know an agent that's helping Nigerian's secure an undergraduate admission in university of Manitoba Canada and according to the agent :
1)it's a study and work program
2)i can pay my school fees in Canada and no tuition deposit.
3) The admission is gotten under a month
4) Only waec results is needed for the admission
5) i wouldn't need TOEFL or IELTS examination for the admission
6) it's a payment after service (agent payment)
7) Scholarship is available for the 2nd year.

I don't know this agent personally yet, only on Instagram.
So i don't know if what the agent claims is feasible and how wise is it for me to undergo another undergraduate degree since my first degree here in Nigeria is chemical engineering and i graduated with a 2:1 currently on nysc. P. S, i don't really have the fund's to pursue graduate studies in Canada and I'm in my mid 20's.

Cc., RuudVanNisteroy, salford

Yes, it is worth it. I studied engineering in Nigeria and topped it up with another UK degree in IT. That laid the foundation for my career path, although I proceeded to study for MSc in IT. You do not necessarily need to have a degree in IT to have a career in IT.

And to your Canadian ambition, i will advise you always speak with the admissions department of the intended University and to avoid fraudulent claims on the internet, but if you think it will benefit you more to go through an education agent, there are very genuine ones in Nigeria too. You may need to google them too.

I hope this information is helpful.

Hello Oga Ago, I need more information about this too up degree.

I wish to have another BSc.
What UK universities does this
Did you use an agent?
What's the cost implications? Please refer me to trusted links. Thanks

Hi yes, you can do that to...that's what I did. I had a degree in Nigeria too. I was in Portsmouth uni but many other universities offer such. Check the admissions portal of highly trusted universities (use that phrase in Google search) in the UK and there should be more information regarding that.
You may not need to go through any agent now, but during my time, the university referred me to their agent on Allen Avenue Road, I think Glory Education.

I hope this information is useful.

Mine was a long and tortuous 10 years.

First arrived the UK as student in 2009 on a 1 year visa for top up degree.
I renewed the visa for another 18 months to complete my Masters degree.
Then renewed for another 2 years on post-study work visa .
After, this I had to renew my residence for another 3 years under the Entreprenuer visa.
After that period, I extended the Entrepreneur visa for another 2 years.
It was in the middle of the 2 years visa that qualified for PR.
I am now in the middle of processing my citizenship/passport.
Wow.. it wasn't easy but it is worth it.

Travel / Re: 10 Places To Visit In Nigeria During Christmas Holidays by tjadeba(m): 12:39pm On Dec 26, 2019
I went to Obudu in August 2016... it was looking desolate. My wife and I appear to be their only guests, nothing was functioning, the cable car etc. Also, the restaurant was lifeless but we met another family who came to have dinner, perhaps they didn't even lodge in the chalets inside the ranch.

Has anything changed since late 2016 to warrant such claim that is a must visit during holiday season?
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: This Was How I Lost A Bank Job Opportunity Yesterday . I Hope It Helps Someone. by tjadeba(m): 8:43am On Jun 20, 2019
TGM2015:
How did you leave your initial job?

The woman conclusion about you may not be connected with how you worked with her but how you left the job. You may not have known type of buttons she has been pressing because of you, only for you to tender your resignation. At least, she accommodate your inadequacies while you worked with her without reporting you or recommending that you should be sent back to your outsourced company.

Sometimes we need to reflect on recommendations that people gave on us. The woman comment might just be the best description of who you are as at the period you worked with her, because you are not the only new recruit in the same situation. You might be surprised to know how many people in your situation that the woman has experienced. God may have allow that mistake to happen for you to hear and make amend for possible future better offer coming your way. Don't live in self defense and denied blaming your attitude to work on your situation. Who knows whether that has also been the reason you are yet to get or sustain a good job after you left the initial one.

Now from your narration, you have support from your parent, your colleagues and supervisors and you cannot survive with their supports for a month. And I am sure the support comes more than once until everybody realized that you are just what the woman described you to be and stop giving you support. Secondly, you sometimes absent yourself from work, come to work late, don't meet your target, etc. Seriously, your condition wasn't the cause but your attitude to work. There are thousands of people who are in worst situations than you and survive the one and half months before pay. Moreover, if you have good attitude to work, relate well with people in the branch (operations and marketing staff), and not selective in assigned work, you can't be complaining of lack of support.

Though you might have been a changed person now, but at as that period of time the woman description of you is just the best description of who you are. My brother, think about it and make positive adjustments. May I also tell you never to include her as reference or better exclude that experience from your CV.

I wish you better job and new life to work.

And what about you? Are you a black or white? Unfortunate black man in Europe. That's why you have the liver to insult black people. Kettle calling pot black. He that come to equity must come with a clean hand. I don't know why most Nigerians that is fortunate to found themselves in abroad deprived joy in insulting Nigerians or black people at home. All my life in abroad I have never ridiculed where I came from. This things are common amongst igbo folks in abroad. Hey! Black people are the most intelligent and creative people in America and other parts of Europe. What deprived you not to use your brain to contribute positively in development of Nigeria or Africa? Those white people you are refering us with are they not human being like you? Please don't come here and talk like a primary school child. Google is your friend. Use your brain

Sadly you exhibited all the traits of an average black man described by the poster you quoted. Reading without comprehending amongst all the ills described... Where in the post did the poster refer to his/her location?

The intelligence and creativity you referred to as the hallmark of an African man can be clearly seen in our continent and every other places inhabited by the black man...

Follow the due process and laid down procedures of the whichever target destination country concerning immigration - and migrate legally.

If anyone tries to abuse the process thinking s/he's smart by migrating illegally, the Canadian example in this report will be supported by rational people.

Do you know the number of people who have taken this illegal opportunity and successfully integrated into same country over the years? It was an opportunity and like every opportunity in life, its expiry is in sight. The socio political situation in Africa will always fuel this type of bad scenario.

I know it'll get to this stage because Nigerians knows how to bastardize things;
Immediately my fellow Nigerians learnt of this process of immigrating to Canada via the US border,
all of them left UK en-mass for Canada via the US border.

Look at what they've caused... shocked

So who are the ones who genuinely need to follow this immigration process?? Apart from genuine asylum seekers which I think no Nigerian qualifies to be part??

That's what happens when people abuse privilege thinking they are smart.

Good one there from the Government of Canada.

I am still trying to understand your point of view viz-a-viz of the realistic situation Nigerians have found themselves in. So are you telling me if there is an opportunity for immigration, people shouldn't take advantage of it? How is it an abuse if an opportunity is open to a multitude who are ready to use it??

The issue Sounds Familiar. once had these experiences with an EOD.

1. Funny sound it makes, if this happen when you are turning the steering around -Replace the power steering pump.

but if it only makes an annoying creaking sound when you u turned it fully, then that belt turning the power steering pump isn't its right size

all the belts has numbers or so, Kazeems are fond of just putting anyone that seems to fit, at the end of the day, your get an annoying creaking sound with full turn.

2. Let me guess, the car just loses power in motion as if u took your leg off the throttle, then if you park, let the car rest a little, it moves normally again and after some minutes, it starts doing the same thing.

i hope your injector has not been tampered with anyway, cos it's not the problem. u know we had this particular issue with the car and almost changed all the sensor and it just wont work.
not until a young Kazeem scanned, then i used google to search for the code and guess what? Throttle body sensor..
all i did was show him the picture and he unscrewed it.. wash/clean it with petrol and that solved it. forever.

imagine the unnecessary spending we had so far.

if u keep letting Kazeems do a guesswork on your ride, your unnecessary spendings will be a topnotch.

Try and scan your ride, then force the kazeem to giv u the code, help him search for it online with d picture. Kazeems no understand big dramas, show him the image instead.

Help your Kazeem, so he could help your car and it will in turn help your pocket grin

Thanks and I am in your school of thoughts... That's why I am looking for a properly grounded mechanic who will properly scan the car to diagnose what it is. Yes I think it's the steering pump but will still like an expert diagnose and recommend before I repair.

autologic:

Why can't you discuss the issue here instead of searching for English speaking mechanic grin that has not been tested and verified .

The car may need to be diagnosed really. It makes a funny sound when the steering is turned full lock to the left or right. Also, there is a sound coming from inside the engine and the local mechanic thinks it is the water pump.
Finally, the local mechanic thinks there is an issue with the injector as the car does not respond quickly to acceleration. You now see why I need a trained Honda mechanic to check for me? I live outside Ibadan so I don't have much information about the city. The car is in Ibadan
