MetroTee:Congrats on the crawling. I'm quite dreading the day my ds hits this milestone. |
talltosyne:Thanks for the education. |
Jennykoko3009:For Samsung phones I think it's menu and volume down or power button. Or better still, ask Google. In jenifa's voice: "Mr Gugu, how do I do screenshot using <make of phone>?" |
Nita2013:Funny enough it does nothing for me. Doesn't even increase breast flow (reason I was drinking it). Anyway I love the taste sha, |
zimunachimdi:Rice, wheat, oats are different flavors, both cerelac and gerber have these flavors and more. You introduce with a single flavor, e.g. Rice, to make sure child is not allergic. Give that flavor fur three days before introducing a new one. People usually buy different flavors so the child does not get bored with only one taste. Apart from cerelac and gerber you may see other brands in store like nutrimom, frisobabe etc. Always check the age to be sure it's suitable for your child. Also confirm if you need to add milk or not. My advise has finished, please ignore the next paragraphs. Mommies why do we despise our very own garri? Is it not a cereal? yellow garri even has vitamin A. What will happen if you give garri mixed with formula to a 10 month old. |
comtem2011:or strepsil Cc slashypexy |
MizOmalicha:According to wonder weeks blowing saliva bubbles is a milestone. Congratulations. |
imurboss:No it's not the drugs cos I'm taking those and they've not affected my tummy size. |
FexCathy:Can't precisely recommend any, but whichever milk you give your child should be full and not filled cream. It's not a function of price, three crown is expensive but it's filled. Blue boat relatively cheap is full. Dano has both filled and full. Loya is full, peak is full. Cowbell is filled. Filled means animal fat was taken out and replaced with vegetable fat. It's healthy for those watching their cholesterol. |
mompurity2:I put lo's bouncer in sitting position. I also sit him on my lap facing me, then hold his hands to balance him. I'm kinda the wrong person to advise on this cos I'm not in a hurry for him to sit. A mama gave advise about using indomie carton for sitting practice some pages back. midnight prayer point: Heavenly father please turn to us and heal our country. Forgive us our sins and save us from the agony of war. We ask in the name of your son Jesus Christ. Amen. |
iomoge2:Onesie is okay but you want to take your baby home in real/outing clothes hence the dress or shirt and trouser. |
@Onegai I can only say be golden morn has way more sugar than the other things you've listed. That could be reason for rash. Continue with the wholemeal options you started with. Maybe try branflakes? Muesli? |
comtem2011:Here are pix. Shoutout to our mommas who've successfully weaned! "But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content." Psalm 131:2 NIV
|
cutiereborn:Thickest pjs... Poor baby. Try facing the rechargeable fan to the wall. The breeze will hit the wall and ricochet back to keep everywhere cool without touching anyone directly. In case you want to underdress because of heat please ensure there are no mosquitoes o! |
zimunachimdi:Please he's on point with his weight. Abi you want a baby you can't carry? 6.6 is a good weight for that age. Most important thing is that his growth chart is steadily climbing. Lol at the sitting thing. My baby can lift his head at three months and everybody is praising us. (You must have taken a lot of calcium etc). Traditionally, boys sit at 4 months and girls at 3 months. Oyinboally, 4 months is an assisted sitter. Why the rush self? Who sitting epp? You can never please those who want to be displeased so get rid of all the pressure. |
feddy27:Onegai, helovesme, alphahandmaiden thanks so much for helping me think straight. Actually I already have dispensers, but it would never have occurred to me to use them. I think I'm just totally muddled up at the moment. I'll buy some extra ones and use masking tape on the bottles. |
AlphaHandMaiden:@Soonest thanks for your advice. @alphahandmaiden I love the masking tape idea. What water do you suggest I use? I thought trap water wasn't safe cos of flouride. I don't have access to borehole water so was thinking of using bottled water. Wallahi breastfeeding is so easy! |
Mommies please I want to start formula and I don't trust caregiver to correctly measure food for baby. Especially since they feed him with cup and spoon. Is it possible for me to mix the bottles of formula down? With the fridge I described in earlier post I can then store the milk either hot (fridge also had warming function) or cold (then they heat in warm water like they're doing with breast milk now) I would have loved to do 6 months exclusive, but pumping is not my strong point (don't want to get into sob stories here) so will be introducing formula at 16 weeks. Cc onegai alphahandmaiden helovesme contem2011 rofegimuwa and all mamas that sabi! |
AlphaHandMaiden:Cc adeime Concerning taking expressed breast milk to creche I bought this tiny fridge on olx for 7k. Go to olx and search for fridge, then sort by price low to high. There are three: one is 3k and can take only one can/bottle, one is square, one is shaped like a football. I bought the square red one it can take 2 big and 2 small avent bottles. I can certify it works well and is excellent for my purpose, but I've only used for one week so I can't vouch for durability. I start cooling the fridge at home in the morning (in case no light at creche) then when leaving the house take out milk from main fridge and put inside. Then plug it in when I get to creche. |
BritneyStacy:(What other mamas have said already) and please you're not a failure. Why do you even think you're not lactating sufficiently? Is your baby peeing and pooping regularly? If yes than I think they're getting enough food. My breasts don't look like I'm breastfeeding (two grandmas have said so), I can barely express more than 40ml per breast, but my baby poops at least three times daily and his weight chart is simply awesome. |
Drdreluv:Oga the people who advised you already mentioned some names. Nan, lactogen, sma gold, Gerber, cow and gate, enfamil are some of the names I know. There are many different types just buy the one your pocket can carry. Keep in mind that you will probably need about four cans per month. Also pick the number 0 or 1, it will be written 0-6 months on the can. |
loistee:I normally use lansinoh lanolin but I don't know where you can get in naija. I bought on amazon and someone brought back for me. Kpele. It's very painful but you have no option than to continue breastfeeding. I guess you can use ori or Vaseline instead, but make sure you wash off before feeding baby. The trick is prevent the crack from getting dry or it will get very painful. Rub on immediately after feeding baby. Try and give the sore nipple a break, feed more from the other side for now while giving the ori or lanolin time to work. E.g feed three times from less painful side before feeding once from painful side. Don't worry about one boob getting bigger than the other for now. |
comtem2011:I hope I'm not being ungrateful, but in my experience colic is overrated. Everything they say about it just puts fear in your body. The fear is enough to give the child colic self. Take burping as a very serious task, ensure lo burps after every meal and stay positive. Concerning money matters I did serious online research and standard chartered account came up with best rate. I've personally been using axa mansard since it was gta and I'm happy, but now I will compare their packages to Royal and Arm. For the person complaining about pumping 180 count your blessings, I've never pumped more than 150 and from both breasts. Welldone everyone and enjoy the long weekend. |
Doubledouble:I don't know of for babies, but the homemade peanut butter I made almost two months ago tasted alright when dh finally finished it yesterday. In short it was outside the fridge for almost one month, then I put it in to preserve it longer. Only thing is it got hard due to fridge temperature (which is why it then lasted another month) I did not blend with water sha, used the dry part of my blender till it was super smooth. Oh and I just remembered: when you blend groundnut with water in your wet blender it doesn't come out smooth at all. You still have granules to chew. (I discovered this with the last groundout soup I cooked) P.S: resumed work on Monday, lo now on expressed milk. But the boy is pooping after every meal. Also having more green poop than usual. Can it be there's no enough hind milk in my frozen stash, and how do I correct this? He's showing signs of teething sha. Mamas here say rota vaccine helps with teething diarrhea, but what helps with the itching? It's painful to watch him being so uncomfortable. |
BritneyStacy:Hahaha 100ml of breastmilk at a go? I assure you it's only in your eyes he's looking small. Please relax your mind. My lo can barely finish 30ml in one sitting, highest he's had is 50ml and his growth chart is okay. |
evamum:That sounds like my lo, he has only ever fallen asleep in his bouncer once. And immediately he woke up and realised where he was he started wailing. Well it's probably because I've totally spoiled him, he sleeps on my body, dh or I rock him to sleep, etc. Like Onega advised, I don't answer anybody that tells me I'm spoiling him. I know I'm spoiling him but I also know that I have only these three precious months with him before I resume work. |
princessG35:2 sets of Abuja moms have bought already (to the best of my knowledge). If you can be patient I'm sure another group will pop up based on this your post. However I'm now retailing for him in Abuja, so you can find my current stock at https://www./m/ads/user/6Nwgf/ you will also see my contact details there. |
mamamj:Very few babies sleep all night before 3 months. You could try the following tricks: 1. Bathe baby early e.g. 6pm. He'll probably fall asleep after his bath. If he doesn't, someone should play with him so he gets tired. 2. Retire to bed early e.g. 8pm. Put off the lights in the room, read a story using torchlight, play a torchlight game, pray, change his diapers rock him to sleep, etc. He's sure to sleep before 9pm if he's away from tv and light. 3. Feed him before he wakes up. Once he starts doing cooo coo feed him while you're both half asleep. Me I arrange mine one kind at my breast and sleep off but I won't advice you to do same :-) 4. Avoid changing his diaper at night, he is sure to wake up if you do. 5. After 4.30am/ 5am feed, hand him over to DH or MIL without any explanation or negotiation. Just dump him. And sleep! Trust me that 5am sleep is veeery sweet and refreshing! I understand if you feel upset with MIL, but na you born pikin o, better gear up to handle your blessing. God will strengthen you. |
barak4real:For the records LO was already 6 days when MIL arrived with the herb. The herb we used is a wide leaf, you toast a bit on fire to make soft so you can extract it's juice. We were still using spirit, after cleaning with spirit, we apply the extract. Note that we were cleaning with spirit and applying the herb virtually every two hours, both day and night. The cord fell less than three days after her arrival. Why do you want to give your baby paracetamol? That can damage their liver o! Please only give when necessary e.g.when running temperature after immunization. |
rofemiguwa:It's possible he's being overfed. Check this out http://kellymom.com/bf/pumpingmoms/pumping/milkcalc/ |
Liftedhands:Please what's growth management |
Jennykoko3009:Is he on formula? I don't think he needs water if you're exclusively breastfeeding him. |
or pulling the table cloth or trying to stand up... I can't even blink any more
Coincidentally she just went to bed and I decided to finally catch up only to see the mention.
, i always feel embarrassed each time people ask if i'm pregnant, don't know maybe it's cos of the multivitamin drugs i take. It's really giving me concern now, don't know what else to do o
