You need to think deeply and make a rational decision here. MSc from a top North American university is a dream for many Nigerians, but you don't live on dreams. My suggestion is that you go (looks like you have the means) ONLY after you have successfully got your currently company to give you an extended study leave without pay. That way, the worst that can happen to you is to return to the same job, but more fulfilled. If you resign and go, what happens if the job doesn't come at the right time? |
Clearly most of the responses here have been skewed. The OP is CLEARLY pro-PDP, pro-GEJ and most likely one of the numerous voltrons working for PDP on social media. Let me clearly and simply state my contributions here: 1. Only a political baby will think the exit of Atiku (with his deep pedigree in Nigerian politics)as well as key stakeholders such as Amaechi, Aliyu Babangida, Kwakwaso, Sule Lamido from an already strained PDP is of no significance. They didn't leave to join APC, PDM or any other party but form a parallel faction. That was a ploy to cause disunity in the party and trust me some more people will leave. 2. I am both on the street as much as I'm online. The average Nigeria is definitely not happy. Clearly paid voltrons and political mercenaries are, but the tens of millions of Nigerians we convinced to vote for GEJ are not happy. The North is worse than it was, the South West is not any better and the South South are equally against him. He has done very little compared to the resources he had. 3. There are unconfirmed rumuors even within the PDP that the new faction has 14 governors and they intentionally got only 7 of the bravest and strongest to leave. Did you ever think Ahmed of Kwara (and definitely Bukola Saraki in the Senate) would be against GEJ? If you add 14 to the 11 in APC, you're left with only 11 'true' PDP governors and that means there will be some strain on resources for 2015. 4. The North still feels they should be President. Tukur is not a leading Northern figure and rooting for GEJ means going against the wish of his people. Someone here mentioned Kaduna and I laughed. Have you heard of the camel going though the eye of a needle? North-Central was the surest for him before now in the North, but not with Aliyu-Babangida of Niger and Ahmed of Kwara. 5. Most of the governors think they are as qualified as GEJ to be President. In fact, most feel they are more qualified and do not feel they NEED to support his personal ambitions. 6. The people that should be GEJ's pillars are against him. OBJ wanted Andy Ubah in Anambra at all cost, but that's not going to happen. Same as the Yoruba's in PDP, who feel they are worse off with him as President. He is surrounded by weak, old political dead woods who are better off in the village drinking palm wine. 7. It will be very difficult to ring in 2015, except in some remote local governments in Bayelsa, praying GEJ and Seriake don't fall out. Many people (even women) are now aware and I'm not talking of social media ooo. People eye don tear. 8. APC is currently shopping for a candidate. Some sources say they are looking for a Northern Muslim from North Central or North East. They have approached the billionaire T. Y. Danjuma but his health won't allow him. If they get someone with track records of good performance, it will be difficult to beat him in the South West (with APC boyz), South-South (with Amaechi against GEJ), North-East (don't even go there at all), North-West (Sambo is not as popular as even Shekarau), South-East will be GEJ's strong-hold. |
FMCL (one of the biggest distribution companies in Nigeria) came into Nigeria in 1893. That means the products they sold then must be more than 100 years old as long as they're still in existence. Top on that list is Tiger Blade. |
I've been to ABU Zaria. Nice structures but those structures don't come close to OAU's. Nursy: Have u thought of visiting ahmadu bello university? Its very big and lovely too... |
Interested current or new distributors can ask questions here. This is a golden opportunity to build your own company and start up. Distribution is one of the most important drivers of the economy and because we are new with established brands, the potential for growth is massive. |
We are appointing new distributors who are interested in selling fast moving beauty and hair care products in key cities in Nigeria and have the capacity and willingness to grow as strategic partners. Interested distributors must be willing to invest minimum N10M and be ready to purchase a brand new van (ideally Huyndai H1) to support the business. Turnover expected is minimum N20M with interesting trade margins, discounts and incentives to support. Interested individuals should ask questions here first |

I'm interested oooo. I'll pay for the booz!!! LOL
I was in UNN a long time ago.. I dont know when I would Visit Enugu again, but be sure you will see pictures on my next Visit. My Mother Graduated from UNN. Infact, she grew up on campus as her Dad also worked for UNN. I know UNN is a classic school, but OAU again, blew me away. I didnt intend to cause any stir up, I was only naming Federal institutions I had entered before. My next Target will be University of Ibadan.. ![]() So the plan is simple: Get some of my hommies together for a weekend in Ibadan.. Take off on Friday, Pictures on Saturday.. Groove away Saturday night with Kemi, Shade, Kemi & Bola.. Return to Gidi on Sunday.. Hopefully, 9 months later, I wouldnt have Ibadan Babymama drama.. This should be before Christmas...
|
These pictures bring tears and smiles. I was in Ife for 5 years and got so thrilled that I almost never went on break during vacations and strikes (trust me, there were many of them). Thank God for the strengths and inspirations I received from lecturers and students back then. Most importantly, what I learnt from outside the classrooms was at least triple of what I learnt in classrooms. I studied Mathematics (White House made life very interesting) and graduated with First Class Honours. I enjoyed the bliss and the babes. Of the Greatest Ife!!! If you go to Ife and your life is triangular - Hostel, Lecture Theatres, Church/Mosques, you're finished. You will regret when you're out. You need to learn as much as possible. Learn French, Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba. Learn photography/media. Learn driving. Learn everything you can possibly learn. If you can afford it, party/club small. Don't forget the babes in Moremi (Grade A) and the JJCs in Moz (sharwama and suya babes lawon yen). Layeni showed us pepper. |
I've done this a couple of times and it ALWAYS turns out same - sour. The story starts with 'Hope 93' and ends with 'June 12'; therefore I'm out. |
Amosun launched mass transit buses in Ogun State in Phase 1. I have seen several of these buses but I've not used them. However, many of the people still prefer the old style of using taxis. They do not want to wait for buses to get filled, hence the taxis, so I think the governor is doing well. He started with the roads first, especially in key towns like Ijebu Ode, Abeokuta, Sagamu. However, I agree he needs to spend time and resources more in other local governments such as Ifo, Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa, etc. He has been able to raise the state's IGR from OGD's meagre N700M per month to close to N3BN per month. This is in the same state and he has only spent about 2 years. |
This is one of them selling information for loans I=he has no idea about. yakubea: Secured & alternative ways to source out fund or raise loan for your business in Nigeria without collateral |
I'm sure there's something he hasn't told you. Approach a proper loan/credit company like Renaissance Credit and talk to them. The loan can be 2% per day, per week, per month, but definitely not per annum. kimbaby: Goodday everyone, |
makdel: @ landtI will suggest you spill it out here instead of giving e-mails 'for further discussions'. |

zskimprexions: Its really pathetic. Even much motivation is not coming the ways of entrepreneurs.I agree with you. Maybe some of us need to challenge others and clearly spell out some business ideas |
elvis10ten: Where is somebody ?.I am here. |
I can't believe how few the responses here are. I'm sure there will be hundreds of thousands of responses, views and replies if we were talking about NNPC recruiting. SMH |
TokyoBulls: Please can you send me an e-mail. I might be interested in this if I'm convinced. We have begun discussions on this and there are indications we might be able to go all the way if the entrepreneur can provide answers to all the questions asked. However, I want to encourage investors not to put too much pressure on returns on these new and budding businesses. If you have the means and resources to go all the way and the idea is promising enough, you may invest. Do not invest what you cannot lose. |
zskimprexions: @Somebody & othe rpotwential investors,Please can you send me an e-mail. I might be interested in this if I'm convinced. |
This will be a very interesting thread and I've read most comments here and got mail alerts from members who are looking for investors. There is no way on earth www.businessdens.com will be 'home to investors'. I have visited the site several times. Please spill your business here. You don't need the details, just a summary that will give the investor some idea of what you're talking about and what he's investing in |
databoy247: @TokyoBull, please drop your email, or send a blank email to nwakstar@yahoo.com so i can fill you in. ThanksSend to dotun.ogunlade@yahoo.com |
I'm interested in investing in the real economy and I have N500,000 on the table for real, clear businesses. |
I can't be surprised at the claim of N1M/day advert spend. For the kind of visibility Jumia.com gets online, you need a fortune. An in-house unconfirmed source claims that they have a 'must spend' budget of $7M this year. That's some good dough to spread around and outbid all adverts on Google or Yahoo |
mich2012: Well, you provided your email add meaning you can answer inquiries via email. Do you have any distributor around Akoka-Yaba and then environs? Can I assume distributorship in this zone? Please let me know and other pertinent details. We have a distributor for that part of Lagos. However, you can register as a wholesaler under the Distributor. |
happybabe02: tokyobulls pls its urgent I need ur help I wnt 2 be a distributor in akute ogunstate pls hw do I go abut it pls email me on happybabe02@yahoo.comGo to 46, Iju Road, Agege, Lagos and register with the distributor there. |
hi tokyobulls. im so happy to read this thread. this is exactly the business me and my wife have been searching for. she is planning to leave paid employment to a business where she would have more time for the kids. i have 2 questions: a. can we start with 300k and concentrate on Pampers and Always? b. can we use a spare room in our apartment as a store , at least to start before we get a shop. c. Do you offer training to distributors on how to manage the business. thanks for all your help. anticipate your responce
You can start with N300,000 but the profit from that will not be enough to sustain a family of 2. With N300,000, you will get a gross of about N7,200 per invoice and even if your overhead is (nearly) zero, you will have a gross earnings of N28,000 in a month if you were hard working enough to sell of total inventory in a week. This may not be possible at the beginning. We offer basic trainings to our Distributors and yes, you can use your spare room as a temporary store as long as it is accessible. |
bodejohn: Six zeros, do the maths!Six zeros na still zero na. |
You need a lion's heart to manage 'danfo' business in Lagos. Most of the drivers in Lagos do not have your interest at heart and are freelance drivers. I will not advise anyone not 'on the streets' to invest in passenger transport in Lagos. Some people will advise you to do hire purchase but it hardly works either. Most drivers will use your bus badly and will dump it before you threaten to collect it. They will successfully (ironically) pounce on another culprit. By then, you have made less than 10% and your bus is worth about 40% or less of the value you bought it. |
