Hi guys. I noticed that for those that applied for Express Entry, they can call IRCC to enquire about the progress of their application.
Is this not allowed for student visa, because i noticed people have not been trying to call them. If it is available, what are the steps involved? |

modestmj: Good evening house,
Please I would like to confirm if a normal bank statement can be used in place of "mybankstatementcertificate"? My sponsor sent that saying that was what his Bank Manager sent to him. Unless I wait till Monday before it can be rectified and I have to submit my application by today - 15th. Please I need your advise on what to do. Should I wait for the mybankcertificate or submit with the normal stamped Bank Statement? You can submit the normal bank account now. Then you may get a request to send mybankstatement later or you can send it yourself via webform later on. |

darey360: Pls guys I tried using my Gt card to pay for my application fees but it was declined , pls wat may be the cause and the solution , thanks this is urgent pls You need to open a domiciliary account and use the card. Or if your parents or elderly people you trust have domiciliary accounts, you can use their card and pay them in Naira. (P.S. I don't trust people my age on matters like this) Don't use that of strangers or 'friends' you don't trust as they can do a charge back which could lead to a ban for you. It shall end in praise. |

Unlike some Nigerian banks like GTB that will give a deadline for job application and close the application portal before the deadline. I think it's from how recrutment exercises are conducted that you'll have an idea of how you'll be treated when you get employed. |

Steph1738aye: Hi Tomsy.. really? How about the GMAT? Did you write that? Although my program of interest is an MBA, what documents did you submit during your application? Also is the entrance funding only available to some graduate programs? I remember reading up somewhere that they don’t provide entrance funding but they have funding opportunities for students after they have been admitted and have commenced their program. No, I didn't write any test at all. MUN offers entrance funding packages for a wide range of programs. I don't know much about the MBA program, but you can mail your graduate coordinator. They respond really well. The funding packages are very competitive. That's why writing standardized tests is of an advantage. |
Romance › Re: She No Longer Picks My Calls by TOMSY(f): 6:58am On May 10, 2021 |
Onyeigbo10000: I met this girl few months ago, we exchange contacts and become friends. she smiles at me whenever she saw me and was fond of holding my hands when we hang out. At times goes on I begin to like her so I decided to ask her out to be my girlfriend which she accepted without thinking twice. My heart was full of joy because I have gotten the type of girl I,ve been searching for. But the problem here now is that for the past few weeks now this same girl has refused to pick my calls or reply my chats. But she picked up when I called with another line and ask her why she has been ignoring my calls she just cut the call on me.
Guys, what's is really her problem? I just use vex delete her number from phone. OP. It's really nothing you did wrong. It's all her. Don't believe what these people are telling you, it can dent your self esteem. First how old is she? She's probably a teenager or in her early twenties (As a girl, at a certain age range, you feel like you have more time to find the perfect person. It could be after she said Yes to you, she found someone taller, someone richer, or just someone NEW.) At that stage, NEW is always better, so banking your emotions on her will lead to heartbreak for you. Secondary, is she from a stable home/family? She's probably from a broken home. Her actions signify that she's unstable and not someone that cares about the feelings of others. Do you really need such a person in your life? Find another girl that is emotionally mature and worth being in your life. Not all girls are like that. Don't block her. Whenever you see her, just greet her normally with a smile and walk away, don't try to be her friend anymore, if she seeks you out, just blow her off. You'll essentially have to be a more mature person and expand your circles before you can meet emotionally stable girls. P.S. Learn to read books and develop yourself. It'll go a long way. |

What do you mean buy "using school to move" No sir. The sole aim of a study permit (which is a Temporary Residency Visa) is to get an international degree which you will use to improve the situation of your home country and also your career. If you want to move permanently, you should apply for a "Permanent Residency (PR)" via the Express Entry route. There is a separate thread for that on nairaland here. |

Solatium: Your 20yrs experience is differ from reality on ground, the reality on ground now means those in ìbàdàn would have achieved a whole lot in 2yrs. There will be more than enough time for them to pursue Professional Certificate or Higher degree. University of Ìbàdàn,ife and Ìlọrin are few hour drive.
By the same 24months you projected those in ìbàdàn would have erected a modest building from the same salary while you are are will always struggle to raise ₦500k to pay for an average housing that doesn't comes with conveniences.
In the same 24 months, tendencies are higher that you would have developed health conditions ,least is High BP due to not having enough sleep or rest.
A worker in ìbàdàn will be far productive than you who live in Lagos, thus getting promotion as and when due.
Finally, who says someone in ìbàdàn can not be seconded to Lagos to come and head a department after having developed himself. Correct bro. May God continue to add to your wisdom. I wonder when people will realize that unnecessary stress is not synonymous with hardwork. One can develop themselves at any location. |

Op @Cybercop2002 Can you now see from the previous comments that if you want to hide things from Nigerians, put it in a book (writing). They don't read. All they do is hastily judge and make decisions (comments).
They've already started insulting you just to sound "savage" - People who most likely do not even know you from Adam.
The article is really true about average Nigerians.
Nice write-up by the way. Great use of sarcasm. OP, please don't let these bunch discourage you. Keep seeking opportunities for yourself.

bwambasolomon: I never particularly asked her to pay for apples. What I know we started doing was to calculate all money spent on a particular day and shared on a 60-40 basis, and that was because the pastor suggested that when we went for counselling. Afterall we earn the same amount. She lives like a queen, I never let her sweep, I got someone to do that for us. She doesn't cook for me, I cook my food myself. She's always chilling in the AC, and for 1 year she never paid for her car to get washed or anything of the sort. She used to take the tin of Milo and milk, sit in the parlour and begin to just leak it, without using it for tea or anything, because she wasn't the one buying them. But after a very long time, that I finally complained about the milk and Milo getting finished within just about 3 days or so, she started buying hers but this time around, she hid them, and only bring them out to use for her pap or oat. Note that she was no longer just leaking as it used to be, apparently because she was the one now buying. The only thing I know she used to do was to bring small money for food, which was never enough, I bought food all the time, and made sure nothing was ever lacking in the house. This complain that brought her to nairaland now is because of the 60-40 sharing formula that we adopted less than 1 month ago. We haven't done this 60-40 sharing formula for expenditures for upto 1 month oo, she's already in nairaland asking for people's opinion. Rent is not part of it oo, she won't buy fridge, ac, inverter, generator, mattress, fan, surveillance camera or TV oo. 60-40 is just food stuff, prepaid light and miscellaneous expenses, like repair of light if it spoils, or dstv subscription. NB: I never asked any of my colleagues to talk to her, never! |

Good day guys. Please I have a question.
Is it legal to state that you converted naira to dollar at the black market (Bureau d' change) in your SOP? My sponsor transferred above #2million in december from one bank account and bought $5,000 USD cash and deposited into another account (domicilliary) on the same day. The balance is a bit above $8000 US. I'm trying to explain the reason for the lump sum.
Or do you think there is no need to explain this in the SOP? P.S The money was transferred to the person who changed it, and $5000 cash was received from him.
