Wrong advice please....

He can add his spouse, post ITA, provided any addition to the application does not make his score goes below the CRS under which he was invited. He is good to go and submit as the spouse addition will still leave him at 470.
phemmy26:
This is my advice. By going alone, you have 475 so you are still safe even if you decline and the point does not get to 470 any more. If it was that if your score is let say 471 unaccompanied, then ill say you you shouldn't decline but 475...its really a decent score and you can always get ITA.

I understand that a lot of people have also advised that you can add the spouse post ITA and the scores would be recalculated which is quite true...but you know IRCC can be funny at times, make we no go meet a yeye case analyst. so for you to have a smooth application which does not have the process of adding and recalculating stuff...just decline and wait for two draws, the likelihood of getting it is quite high.

My two cents
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by topeolu1: 7:55am On Feb 15, 2020
Case analyst said my letter of employment and reference letter issued by HR had conflicting dates. I guess the date I noted i would resume on my offer letter when I accepted it could not hold cos of family issues and the final date I later picked happened to be a public holiday so that sort of looked like a conflict and that was my pry NOC. The analyst completely omitted the other employment reference letter in CIC format.

All I did was to attach emails I had with the HR of my company when I was doing the onboarding process to show what transpired and refer them to the pages in docs submitted showing what analyst was looking for but omitted in error.

For POF, I liquidated the Tbills and presented statement of account straight up

Comoteye:
Congrats bro. Pls what was the percieved conflict concerning your eligibility?

......And the wait ended is over!!!

Hi everyone, sorry for reporting late, got PPR 12th February dated 11th 3.04am

Family of 4
PA - self
Pry NOC 0122 (No HR letter in CIC format, used regular embassy letter + supervisor and coworker letter)
Sec NOC 6235 (HR letter in CIC format)
IELTS LRSW - 8/8.5/8/7
CRS 440/438
ITA Jan 30,2019
Air Feb 27, 2019
MEP April 2019

Called CIC monthly till calls couldn't go from outside anymore.

Contacted MP Ralph in August and file was picked about a week later. Analyst messed up the whole thing, reduced eligibility points and CRS points claiming conflictshuh Treasury Bills POF not acknowledged.

Raised several gcms which was not delivered till December 2019. Upon receipt and realization of what analyst wrote, crafted an LOE on Christmas Eve to Ottawa -uploaded on webform and sent to Ottawa email. Also sent email to immigration minister. Got acknowledged in January 2020. Documents attached were, explanation for perceived conflicts, treasury Bills was liquidated to savings account and account statement printed dating back to 2018 showing origin of funds since they have been there more than a year before ITA

February 4, 2020 got remedicals, did remedicals 2 days later, MEP passed 2 days later, PPR came 11th February 2020.

Almost a year.......

Report this to the Police now!!!

Let there be a record that you report this to law enforcement agencies.

pamelaayomide:
Nairalanders I am actually typing this with fear of what to come.

I am an active member of this forum but change moniker by registering and creating a new one here to hide my identity.

Origin...

I met my boyfriend in school actually we were in the same department at funnab. We did things together. We were in love and had sex when we feel like it. We planned to get married after school.

Mistake...

I went to a birthday party of one of my close friends, I had three friends and we are like clique.
During the party I got drunk and the guy that took us to the party in his car took advantage of my drunken state and had sex with me and make it look like it is consensual. During the act I know what was happening but was too weak and blurred. I didn't know there was a video recording of the act. When I woke up the guy was no where to be found so I kept it to myself.

Blackmail...

When my guy found out that I cheated on him, he was furious. I denied it initially but when he showed me the sex clip I admitted it but defended myself on the ground that it was rape and not consensual. I summon courage and asked him how did he come up with the sex tape but that he would not answer to. He left that moment and I start feeling that he knows something about the tape and wants to blackmail.

Threat...

He showed up one day at my hostel and threaten to leak the tape online. I begged him profusely not to do that but he said my plea and tears are waste of time. That he will let everyone know the kind of loose lady I am for betraying and cheating on him. That I will regret the day I met him. That I doesn't deserve his love.

Currently...

He is yet to release the clip but may actually do that with what is happening to the Babcock ex student.

What should I do to stop him before he destroys me.

Please go for your appointment on Monday regardless of public holiday. If you get there and they are not working, they will reschedule you. I witnessed one of the holidays last year when they worked and just chopped all the monies of those who didn't show up. They had to pay another fee for appointment. They claimed, they never sent any message they won't be working. VFS is run by these Asian guys and you know how they are with business and money.....

Just my thoughts.

Renee25:
Hi everyone, please I have an appointment with TLS on Monday, 11th. But I just heard that day is a public holiday. I have tried to contact tls to find out if they'll work on that day but can't find any number for the abuja office and the Lagos number isnt going through. Does anyone have any idea about what happens in this situation? Do I have to amend my appointment or just attend on Monday? Thanks

It depends on the registration status of the supermarket with corporate affairs commission CAC. If it was registered as a Limited liability company - LTD, you go to FIRS. If it was registered as a business name or enterprise OR you are just trading in your individual name, you go to your state inland revenue service or Tax authorities.

You already have a good command of English Language. I suppose the issue here is CONCENTRATION - within and without the text and speech.

Increase your practice before you register for any further exams and be sure you max scores at practice test.

Aunty, I think you need to up your concentration level.
Maybe practice the test in a noisy place. That way, you tend to block out the noise and focus better

You may want to scribble down stuff as you listen especially in the map questions.

With questions that have options consider eliminating possible wrong options as you listen.

Don't get get too bothered, you are good. You have been passing the more difficult ones like writing and reading with ease.

Noted. Thank you.

It's clear we still don't understand what immigration applications are all about. Emigration is a privilege and at the discretion of the approving authority. This has nothing with being a Nigerian. Have people not created a thread here to address transcripts delay at UNILAG? It's your right to have your transcripts process because you have graduated from the school. I threatened legal action against my school when they claimed they couldn't find my results even when the admitted my name is on their lists. It's entirely different, that's why I laughed when some said its a defeatist mindset. I fight battles but I choose them wisely.

I have it on good authority that they are not running this to rake in as much fees. The priority is what you add to the economy when you get there. That's why they are willing to refund you if you withdraw your application before a decision.

If I must intervene here, any change sought to this process should be via the Canadian parliament. What happens to getting an MP to sponsor a bill to address this. Even at that it's complicated. When we say there's no information, the response you'll likely get is that you have a portal that tells you your application stage, however how inaccurate it might be. The process of approving these applications, by their nature are meant to be shrouded in some "official secrecy", especially the security risks that new immigrants are viewed as. As to why certain demographics enjoy higher approval rates, your guess is as good as mine. We are the third highest population in EE, yet how many of our brothers take up employment with ircc.....

I can go on.......

I have nothing against what others choose to do, I just think it should be moderated.

Regards.

ifevictor:
The recent agitation regarding the unexplained delays experienced by applicants whose files ended up in Accra VO is in order in my own opinion. While some restraints is expected in the choice of words when expressing one's frustration at the pace of process, expressing such constraint is well within the right of the applicants.

This is not true. If you follow ircc on twitter you will see they operate on a bureacratic level that even PR in Canada are complaining. They take their time to process applications wither PR, PRTD, ETA etc. Yes, they have suggested timelines but it's not cast. There's a caveat it keeps changing. Comparing AVO to OVO will not work as they are staffed differently according to them and they have different priorities. I understand processing PR applicantions is not the main priority of any VO. It's additional. They have economic, political and other interests they pursue first. If it weren't, they should be happy making more money from these fees we paid!

It's gruelling, even for me clocking 8 months today; but I know this too shall pass....

Somaris:
This shows you are a Nigerian. Scared of challenging the authority even for what you know is right. Applications take 6 months, asking that they step up is not haram. You can enjoy waiting but others that don't want to will take initiative and draw attention to their plight. You trend issues to draw attention.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by topeolu1:
Dear @johnnybravo1990 , I observe with studied silence the way some of us display some exuberances on forum like this. Maturity sometimes take a lot of things away. People don't understand what this journey entails. It's a privilege and not a right. How do you force a man to open the gate to his house for you even though he sent you an invite to his party?

I joined this platform since the days of the oldies - @Ifeoma77 etc and I'm careful what I throw here and there except it's useful. I'm 8 months post AOR today and I still have my peace. What can I do? Worry more? Nooo. I noticed you display similar maturity in your post and engagement helping people with ielts issues et al. I'd love to but my schedule will not.

On a last note, people should note these threads are being monitored by VOs of countries of interest! That's why you see MODS hunting down those posting rubbish and scam. I personally read a thread where US visa officers in Nigeria barged into a thread and apologized for barging in and responded to a guy who says he was looking for Yankee visa bla bla bla. Guess what, the officer apologized for barging into the thread and said they've seen his post on another thread where he said once he gets a top notch visa, he won't come back to Naija. He ended by saying, if they could see through his intent on Nairaland, the same way the VO at the interview window will see through his lies. This is just to underscore the point they monitor various fora. It's a US visa thread and I'll try and search for it again.

Sometimes in life, good things takes time and everyone has their path to take. That someone got to Canada before you doesn't mean they will do better than you and vice versa.

Our path may look alike, our destinations are different

Patience is a virtue!

I think we should tread with caution. Getting PPR as well as getting it on time is a privilege and not a right. I can understand that as humans, we tend to compare our progress with that of others, but we should know that people have different destinies and futures. Going online to call out AVO on Twitter is not a good idea. CIC and all its visa offices own the yam and the knife; they can decide to cut on the yam anywhere they deem fit. While AVO applicants wait, please savour the moment and experience. That’s what makes life interesting actually: your unique stories, your ups and downs, the joys and the sadness, the unpredictability and the thrills in it. Let AVO do their job at any speed they are capable of.

It's also possible. Does your former colleague have any evidence s/he worked there? By way of his own payslips, ID card or business card?

You need to consider all these even though it will still be under notary, but plain sheet

Phaytie:
Thank you for the response.
But can a former colleague who has also left this organization to a new office, but also worked with me during the same period, do this attestation of the job duties for me?? But she has no ID card from the place embarassed cry
I am asking because the organization is in a different state far away and I don't have the luxury to keep travelling down there. But this colleague also moved with me to the new state.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by topeolu1: 9:10pm On Sep 16, 2019
This may not be sufficient. You may need to get a staff there who is familiar with your JD while serving to provide additional reference for you stating all your duties performed on plain sheet and get this letter notarized. S/he to attach his business card and/or staff ID. Add this to what you have from your erstwhile boss

Phaytie:
Pls I am in a fix and need help.

I am filing out the application post ITA, and I am claiming points for NYSC work experience.
I didn't write NYSC as the organization name, I wrote the name of my PPA.

Now, on going to get job reference Letter from my PPA, the director of admin who is in charge, vehemently refused to sign the reference letter in IRCC format, seized it and instead gave me a ,"to whom it may concern letter " of 3 lines. Which states that I did NYSC in the organization, stated the job title, dept, and also I was hardworking and should be giving the necessary assistance.

My question is; 1). since this reference letter stated that the work I did was NYSC,...do I need to add NYSC as the organization name, in addition to my PPA, while filling the application now? Or still leave just the PPA as organization name?

2) Secondly, the letter is not in IRCC format, so I intend writing an LOE for this reference letter and indicate the start and end date of the work, hours of work, and duties
Also include NYSC discharge certificate
And statement of account for the period,( both the PPA salary account and allowee account, which are in different banks)

Pls, which of the above is not necessary and which is?

3) What do I explain as the reason for not getting the reference letter,as the admin claims its a one year work and not full time?

It may be worth paying attention to or may be nothing, depending on what was raised for review - you have not mentioned the exact comments of the officer. The senior officer may pass it if it's nothing serious. Did she include a detailed statement of account for the MF showing account number, her name, transaction history etc. or is it only the letter from ARM she used? Sometimes the first reviewers just raised it to watch their own backs too. However, if her mind is not at ease, she can liquidate and present funds in liquid form in her account.

We should note that with the recent happenings and attention focused on Nigeria and Nigerians, our apps will be strictly appraised. Hence, I'm not surprised with this sudden extra scrutiny by most VO's. After all, others have had their ppr with these same docs.

Hi @gretop; you will win this. I'm very sure and my faith is strong.

Do liquidate as you're doing and update them with it in addition to what you've already done with an appeal. God will favour you!

The VO must have fixed his thoughts on US mutual funds when appraising this considering that you're based there.

My primary office is: Montreal Immigration while my secondary office is: Centralized Intake Office. The letter was updated on my profile on the website. It wasn’t sent to my mail directly.

If it's Naija MF, then he will get his groove back. I thought it was from the US. However, it's clear the VO was in the wrong cos I know several people who have their ppr with the same stanbic MF. Stanbic MF is not the MF type your see in the US or Canada. Their dollar variant comes close to that though, cos of the terms of liquidation. Let everyone planning to us stanbic MF dollar fund take note. You can't liquidate at will without penalties

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by topeolu1: 12:06pm On Aug 22, 2019
Hi gretop, you see why I requested for your refusal letter? The VO never said any word about not being able to use mutual funds. As a matter of fact he never mention any mutual let alone funds. What he said was that he is not convinced the funds can be moved to Canada which is the regulation.

That takes me to the type of mutual funds you used. Is it from the USA, if I'm right? It's not the same with what obtains here in Naija, especially the type we do with stanbic. Mutual funds are derivatives which is tied to other treasury indices and are subject to vagaries of the market. Hence, they are not as liquid as term deposits, though high yielding. Stanbic knowing that Nigerians don't have time for all those treasury nonsense only came up with a variation of this product under this name and xtics. That is why we can liquidate our stanbic mutual funds and get credit same say. Ordinarily, in the US or Canada, it's not always so.

Like @ladymarshall said, you should not have resent the MF you did again to your explanation since you already have sufficient funds in your account, because that is the crux of the matter. So many people have used MF from stanbic and got their ppr, so MF is not the problem, perhaps the type and clime it's coming from.

I join you in faith for a positive review on the strength that you now have sufficient funds in your personal account without even factoring the MF in contention.

It will end in praise by God's grace.

Can you blot out your personal information and share the refusal letter here. It's better to know exactly what to address beyond just adding funds

gretop:
Dear Experts,

I need your advise. I got a refusal letter on my application today which does not add up. The denial ground was that I did not have sufficient proof of funds but I do have funds to the total of CAD20990 with stanbic mutual funds. The minimum requirement for my family size is CAD19390. My mutual funds states categorically that I have full access to it and can liquidate it in partial or fully. The last GCMS notes I requested that I got last week did not state anything about issues with POF. It only said it requires further review. I don't even know what to do at this moment. I need advise please. I still have additional funds in my other accounts but did not bother to raise a CSE cause I thought i had passed the minimum POF. Is there an email I can contact or some phone number to reach to state my case and show that I have enough funds?

Waiting your advice on next steps or even a way forward
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by topeolu1: 10:23am On Jul 17, 2019
I think you didn't understand his question. He has three names ABC. On some docs it's ABC while it's BAC on others. This is not a mismatch as there is no clearly defined way of arranging names. Ircc rules which I read recently is clear that family or surnames must be constant while the rest is regarded as "Given names". If "C" is your surname, it's stays. If "BC" is your given names it stays, it doesn't have to be BC or CB. We are the ones that separates first name from middle names, they are all given names. Where the affidavit may be useful is if using only surname and one given name and it's prone to misrepresentation, then fine. I'm sure our official documents which evidences our names, international passport, also confirms those are given names.

ladymarshall:
I am not sure this is entirely true especially for inconsistency with first and last names. Evans George and George Evans can be arguably the same person but Charles George and Evans George can be argued as different individuals (if there is no legal backing). Best to do a one and same person affidavit to stay safe.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by topeolu1: 6:54pm On Jul 15, 2019
This is not a mismatch. It's okay. No organisation determines name arrangement on documents and ircc perfectly understands that. So long as the docs did not specifically state that your surname is your middle name or first name, there's nothing wrong with it. Just make sure all names appear. Sometimes only 2 is even needed by some organisations and it doesn't invalidate your identity. Name arrangement is purely for administrative convenience

padix:
Hello guys,
My AOR was April, my concern is the order of names on my passport is different from the order of names written on my Bank Letter for proof of funds. E.g name on passport is Charles Evans George. but on the Bank letter and Statement of account, it was written as Evans Charles George. (George is the last name)
I realized the mismatch after i have already submitted. will this be a problem.
Just a lil concerned.

Your best time, from experience, to reach them is when they just resuming for the day, which is around 12.50pm - 1pm Nigerian time or around that time. That will be around 8am over there. They open at 7.30am EST. Wait time will usually be around 10minutes. The highest I've waited was 20minutes cos I called 4pm Nigerian time.
