CelebritiesRe: Cassandra Owolabi Blasts Funke Akindele Shares Experience Working With Actress by tot(f):
I like Funke Akindele a lot and I am a big fan of hers but if this is truly how she treats her staff, then it's not nice. I watched the video - there is nothing that justifies you verbally abusing your staff, calling them mad, idiot.

This girl on the other hand, some of the things she complained about - Funke is stingy, they worked 24-7 etc, are things that should have been addressed by the contract /terms & conditions they signed, but then again we know many employers in Nigeria don't respect that.

Do you blame them? ... Schools in the UK, US, China etc, "court" International students all over the world. You see their adverts everywhere... They display what they have to offer. You will want to go there. They offer scholarships to get great minds....

But what do we have here,... Frustration to enter their decaying infrastructure and many lecturers with overbloated egos to finish the job with annual ASUU, ASSUP, SSATTURAI strike!... Even the whole society is not conducive for molding a students character...

No light, bad roads, poor educational standard to mention but a few....

I hate us carrying billions to develop other country's society but that's what our leaders delight in.... Only that it is not only education. Check out what we spend, starting from Bihari on health abroad, in UK, US... Its the fad for politician wives and celebrities to give birth abroad!... In short, its disheartening... Our national assembly didn't want Innoson motors but preferred abroad cars not their personal money oh for oversight functions!

We're very wasteful and certainly unwise.. Period!
Well said

A section of the studio. You are exaggerating and being emotional about it. The decision was rescind and amends given. It does not matter. Its all in the past now. I wonder what good thing your family member will say about you not to talk of your community. But here you are forming a good guy and condemning a guy who has more positives than any negative you could come up with.
Nonsense. If you are not a wicked person, you wouldn't be calling such a thing trivial.

If it was your studio building, a building erected with your hard earned money, that was demolished - I bet you wouldn't refer to that as trivial. We should stop being biased in this part of the world.

PoliticsRe: Abiola Ajimobi To Be Buried On Sunday As Family Releases Burial Arrangements by tot(f): 10:26am On Jun 27, 2020
Kerfuffle:
Bro, even a 5-year-olf could easily pinpoint that his Christian wife was most likely behind the delay in burial.

I mean what's the correlation between the COVID-19 death and delayed burial. None! It's most likely the late man never wanted this nonsensical burial arrangement while he's alive, and will even hate it more now that he's dead.

This also show others that politicians are and will never be anyone's model for practicing their religion.

I hope this serves as a lesson to others before blindly jumping into interfaith marriage.
Already blaming the wife, meanwhile nothing was stated in the post to say it definitely was her.

You sound like a very intolerant person, if people choose interfaith marriage, it is their CHOICE, respect it and stop being intolerant.

Get you facts right. Studying abroad has nothing to do with your educational system. Chinese Universities are far far better and in top world rankings compared to Nigeria. Do you no the number of Chinese nationals studying in the UK and USA annually? These are top world ranked universities in academic, scientific, and professional researches. Do you know that USA citizens study in the UK and vice versa. Do you know Japanese nationals study in the UK. The you know the number of Europeans studying in other locations.
Studying abroad has come to stay.
The Chinese have good universities, there is a viable alternative in their own country. Nigeria's case is completely different. How many foreigners come to Nigeria to study? How many?

ModestGal's point is the fact that the Nigerian educational sector has been so destroyed that the only alternative is for their kids to be sent overseas. Nigerian Universities are on perpetual strike, even those not on strike do not meet up to international standards.

Uneducated Madam Shakespeare.. Uneducated English speaker
Illiterate has more than 1 meaning, but then again I didn't expect you to know that...

1. ignorant; uneducated; esp., not knowing how to read or write.
2. having or showing limited knowledge, experience, or culture, esp. in some particular field: musically illiterate.
3. violating accepted usage in language: an illiterate sentence.

Problem with poor people is that they always try to equate their lives with other's .. I don't depend on government for education , not once from nursery to second degree, Ajimobi can't oppress me cos I have same 24hrs just like him and I make the best use of it just like my parents who never made me believe Government was my Messiah and I have to be lazy and useless only to blame government and rich folks

People like you are still in the US and UK as a black person living of social security, food stamps, Council welfare packages and other government welfare since government is your God, better change your orientation
The government is elected to provide infrastructure for the people. It is your prerogative not to use them (good luck) but for others that are at the mercy of a country where the education, health and critical sectors are in shambles, be assured people will speak out against such leaders and continue to do so. That is WHAT they were elected for. They should stop running abroad and develop their nation. People like you should also stop defending them. Eod. Shameless politicians.

ModestGal:
They left Nigerian educational system to rot and send their children abroad to school.

Another reason the whites see us as stupid people, this would make the rich becoming richer and poor becoming poorer.

There's nothing joyous about a politician children schooling abroad to me, look at the state of our primary and secondary schools in villages, these children are hardly able to write letters at Senior classes, how would they pass jamb, how would they gain admission into the highly competitive universities, how will they ever read professional courses that could land them a job after graduation?
These people now go to NCES, and become teachers, and the cycle of poor education continues.
Meanwhile, the best were supposed to be the one to attend Teachers college, so that they can raise good students, but now, the worst attend NCEs.
I don't think anyone is feeling that pains, where people going to NCE are people with less qualifications, unintelligent minds, zero seals unlike in the past where those teachers went to TEACHERS college because they wanted to be TEACHERS and were very good at what they teach. The NCE students of today, are usually very poor students, with poor results, from poor families. These are the people that would be handling the children of the poor, the vulnerable children in our public schools, thi means the future is very blurry for the poor and vulnerable people and the rich would continue to be richer.

We need to make Nigeria a country where people have equal education or at least with a gap not too wide.

I can't see all these innocent children and smile when I see these type of pictures. Infanct, there's nothing to be proud about when a Nigerian graduated from whites people's university. Can't we have our own Warwick, Harvard, Oxford? Must we always be longing to attend universities abroad and attach our pride to it?

Since when have we been seeing it as an achievement to graduate from universities abroad? Is that how the African people would continue till the world ends? Attaching our Ego to ''abroad'', ''foreign''? Nah, something is not right. We also deserve our universities to be an object of high achievement
Sis, preach it!

Until it is made compulsory for children of any Nigerian leader to get education in Nigeria, the nation will not make progress because education is the life of the nation.
That is it. And if you are wealthy enough to send your kids abroad and not ready to make that sacrifice of them schooling here, then remain a private citizen. Those ready to serve will take up the challenge.

You can't be in govt and have your CORE needs - health, education - being met solely in a foreign country.
