just checked and yes, northern Cross River borders Benue. So the OP indeed isnt drunk.

I think after a while tiny Lagos may become the biggest state in Nigeria with the way things are going.
Politics › Re: The Approved Proposed States To Be Created by tpiah: 3:06pm On May 11, 2009
Dis Guy:
hows this possible? cross river is no where near those other states!
Cross River and Bornu states can relocate to be part of the union.

or they can stay in their current locations and still join the new state.

Their excos will just allocate more money for travel expenses, that's all.

I know the OP isnt typing while drunk. wink

Jumping rats shocked
What the heck!!! That must be scary, and I am not usually easily scared.
If I hadnt seen this kangaroo rat with my own two eyes, I wouldnt have believed such a thing could be found outside of Australia.

I don see all kind thing for naija!

Snake nko? Two giant pythons in one village like that. I've only seen bigger snakes in museums, safely embalmed.

Scorpions too. Giant black scorpions longer than my hand, in some other villages.

Like being in Jurassic Park  shocked shocked
Health › Re: Does Your House Have A Good Toilet? Your Landlord Can Go To Jail For This! by tpiah: 2:29pm On May 11, 2009
I cant help but wonder why some houses still have pit latrines in this day and age? huh Not to mention these two who didnt even provide any toilets at all. The govt really does need to eduate people about the importance of such things and also provide funds so people can improve their sanitation if they cant afford to otherwise. Illiteracy is no excuse.

How many people even know pit latrines are a foreign introduction? We cant afford to be lackadaisical about all this no matter how embarassing it is to discuss it.

TV/Movies › Re: The Movie Club by tpiah: 2:19pm On May 11, 2009
The Dark Knight was ok but there was so much symbolism and stuff running through the movie.

And a lot of questions were left unanswered- they were probably aiming for a sequel to tie up the loose ends.

eg who is the joker? What's the real story behind his scars? He kept giving different excuses.

Who was Harvey Dent before he came to Gotham? Had he and the Joker met before? When will Batman redeem his name? etc etc.

posting late.

Stop arguing, dude looks ugly.
If thuggish is another word for ugly, then he looks thuggish tongue[/quote]thugs arent necessarily ugly. Tupac wasnt ugly. neither was Malcolm X.

Some will find this particular guy ugly but nevertheless to others he oozes sex appeal.

he's not my type but I can still see that.

good question.

Some of them date ladies who use makeup then ask her to stop wearing it after they get married.

Wasnt it the make up that probably made them notice her in the first place? huh

These same guys who drool over heavily made up stars? huh

no big deal. They have short attention spans.

besides, they find girls "icky' at that age, I think. If he's telling you that, then its because he probably feels he's having a man to man talk with you.

Unless you were the one first asking him if he has a crush on anyone? huh

If the girl has a crush on him, its still no big deal. Not too long before she crushes on someone else. What does a 7 year old know? huh

I dont think I've tasted tortoise yet but I'd like to.

I hear the meat is rubbery. Its probably like snail.

I've also seen a hunter with a pangolin he was selling once. Never had any though.

porcupine is one of the tastiest I've ever eaten. Bush meat as usual, tatstes best.
I may have had this before. Very tasty.

Health › Re: Info On Effective Rat Killer by tpiah: 1:32am On May 10, 2009
If all else fails, get a cat.

In India, the oyibos used to keep mongooses to help them control the snakes.

Its important to have a tidy home, but sometimes that doesnt keep the rats out. Those things can be very determined. There are places in Nigeria where the rats are almost as big as small cats. Some of them dont even fear humans again.

I'll never forget the time I saw a kangaroo rat- the thing was jumping exactly like a kangaroo. My friends and I used to scream and jump on the bed whenever this hopping masquerade rat made an appearance. I think say na only Australia leaping mammals dey live!

having lots of open spaces also helps reduce them, I think. Rats like clutter.
