from source

Much later, at the beginning of the 13th/19th century, Mohammed Bello offers more information about the Sefuwa dynasty at a certain stage in the history of Kanem. He refers to a group of Berbers who, having left Yemen, travelled all the way to Kanem
Was there some cultural exchange between Bornu and Yemen in ancient times? huh

5, sutble use of religion to promote yoruba culture ( by intentional use of cleverly feigned yoruba accent to preach on TV)
na only this one consain me for that list.

Couldnt care less about everything else.

I don talk tire- cant be wasting my saliva anyhow.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Seven Atrocities Of Pastor E.A .Adeboye. by tpiah: 11:58pm On May 09, 2009
I'm not saying the people complaining about Yoruba accent in RCCG pastors dont have a point.

However, many core Yoruba speakers actually feel more comfortable talking in Yoruba than any other language. Since that's the language they grew up with and in which they were raised.

Should they start faking an American or British accent or something? huh

Even my dad prefers speaking Yoruba to any other language at home- if not for something in my brain that just makes me stubborn, I'm supposed to be the same way. Unfortunately, I turned out the opposite.

But I wouldnt abuse people for having an accent oh! Unless they were caught two timing their partner or something! In which case it's free for all. All's fair in love and war. I nor send anybody message. undecided

So much vile, hate, and name-calling on the poster. What's he/her sin? For daring to make an observation. Too bad. Do you guys want him burnt on a stake, like the MA 16th century Salem witch-hunt?
I have attende RCCG in 2 cities in America, and I know for sure that while they do a good job in many areas, the top heirachy of that church remains too lopsidedly Yoruba. Not that there's anything wrong with being Yoruba, but it should be admitted.
what tribe are the majority of the church members?

i dont get your point.

Its like asking why C &S leaders are majorly Yoruba.

CAC

Cele

To talk like someone with perspective, you need to look at the history of the church.

There are other churches in Nigeria- what tribes constitute the majority in the Catholic church for instance.

Qua Iboe church- how many Yorubas are in the leadership there.

Is it because RCCG followed Nigerians overseas and established churches that you're complaining? huh

I'm not saying the leadership isnt heavily Yoruba, but dont Nigerian tribes also divide themselves along religious lines?

and as it is, I heard speaking Yoruba has been banned in some of the UK branches of Redeemed in order to foster amity.

The late Pastor Ify of Jesus House London wasnt Yoruba nah. Neither is her husband.

in case you're based in the US, you and especially your husband can go to jail if you circumcise your daughter.

An Ethiopian man was charged to court some years ago for this exact thing.

The statistics are probably true.

Some men wont even know if they're shagging the woman or not. So the female has to tell them they did, even if they didnt. Thus the men think they had sex when in actual fact there wasnt any entry.

remember, we're not talking of satisfaction here.

cheesy cheesy

On the other hand, is the author talking about Nigerians in Nigeria or the ones in the diaspora?

even with the slave exports, Nigeria is still overpopulated with Nigerians running away by the millions.

From all appearances, one would think they have sex more than twice a year given the number of mistresses and concubines, but Nigerians are rather good at keeping that kind of secret so who knows.

Maybe some of them sha.
Romance › Re: Definition Of Marriage In America by tpiah: 1:27am On May 09, 2009
nothing in the original post showing that's the man's wife and not a prostitute or a stripper.

In which case, the customer enjoys parting with his money.

So what's your point again?

Anyone can draw a picture and label it marriage. The figures themselves dont say the same.

The man may be one of those types who like dominatrix. Some guys are funky like that.

Romance › Re: What Kinda Girl Are You? by tpiah: 9:46pm On May 08, 2009
original post (which even the OP has forgotten)

Its simple, there are two types of women, the ones you just wanna get into and the ones you wanna wifey. Ladies you dont ve control over this, its like guys see some girls, they know straight away you just wanna lay her down and not wifey her. Some girls might be sexy, hot anytn u wanna call it, but theres just that thing about their appearance that just makes guys feel like its just gonna be a sex thing from the moment they meet them. While other girls got that wifey thing going on about them when u first meet them, however guys might be wrong with their assumptions. So do you think you the type of girl guys just wanna get into bed or something about you makes them want more from you?
gone the way of the dodo.
