Food › Re: Her Husband Must Be The First To Taste Her Food by tpiah: 9:38pm On May 07, 2009
look, the people shouting jazz here- this is how Africans always blame everything they dont understand on jazz.

If the husband looks happy all the time and has eyes only for his wife, una go say na because of jazz.

What if it isnt jazz and the man and woman are simply highly appreciative of each other? The man especially may be privy to this kind of attitude which works wonders for his ego. You dont know what else the wife is doing that makes him happy, you're shouting jazz everywhere. The thing go be like voodoo for all the ones lacking understanding.

Anyway, I'm not saying people dont jazz- its just that not everything is outright jazz. Some things are simply common sense and basic pampering. If you spoil a real your man, he's more likely to spoil you back.

and how is she starving the kids? The OP said the family gets snacks while waiting. I'm sure the wait isnt that long either.

Sounds like a good idea, imo. The only thing I'd want an improvement on is how to schedule the mealtimes so people dont get too hungry while waiting. In any case, it doesnt have to be every day.
Culture › Re: Why Don't White People Have African Surnames? by tpiah: 9:23pm On May 07, 2009
grandstar:
This is a very important topic.

Why is it that oyinbos do not have African surnames and we do?

Imagine if I married a white women and all my children including the males married white children and their children did the same, by then they should all be white should they not. My grandson or great grandson from my sons should bear my surname assuming it is Okechuckwu.

Ok, what will Agbonlayor grandsons be called for instance.

Or is what I am saying not for real?
the kind of ancestral lineage you're referring to, rarely happened between African men and white women back then. It was mainly white men marrying African women and having offspring with them. In the few instances where black man/white woman married and had kids together, more often than not, the black man would have a non-African last name eg in Britain.

Outside Africa, white masters impregnated black women, and white female/black male relationships were illegal.

In all instances, the children would bear their white father's surname. Even the slaves had their masters names most times.

For your own scenario as outlined here, you'd have to wait a few more decades or centuries before drawing conclusions.

Romance › Re: Help Me! Same Guy Slept With Us by tpiah: 11:52am On May 07, 2009
I wouldnt advise you to tell your fiance- being a naija guy, he might not be able to handle the news.

I would, however, advise you to stay away from Jide the loose cannon. Avoid his calls and ask your friend dammy to do the same. If she doesnt, then that's her business.

I met this priest in a youth seminar just last year, I'm very diserpointed I hope the kick him out of the church cry angry
why should they kick him out of church?

He just needs to spend time with God, that's all. And he should be given the option to marry.

they (the aloy and the other one) both need urgent help that's for sure.

I smelt a rat the minute this fellow started posting, when he was still boasting about selling his lemon cars to unsuspecting buyers. His alter ego/girlfriend/companion in crime was trying to form back then.

Its so irritating when people carry things on their head as if they're doing something no one else has done before. "Oh I have an Igbo boyfriend/girlfriend", or "I have a Yoruba boyfriend/girlfriend blah blah, therefore everybody else come and hail- I'm doing something so spectacular that's unique in this world".

so bloody what? Clearly loco.

OgidiBoy:
Sissy abeg where did you see catholic priests with family shocked shocked shocked Maybe protestants but not catholics pls
there are some like that in central America.

There's another one in east or central Africa, though I think most times the priests leave the church after being exposed.

In these two instances I know of, they (the priests involved) started other Catholic churches which have been branded heretic or something by the main body.

OgidiBoy:
Any priest can go out and have a family and still claim to be a priest, but I don't think he can still be recognized as a priest by the Vatican.

its really not fair to make such a handsome and stunning man a celibate priest.

Imagine Mario Lopez joining the priesthood- same problem.

wow that priest is hot.

People like that shouldnt be in the priesthood or else they should be allowed to marry.

The guy is too handsome abeg.

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. He doesnt stand a chance- women would make a beeline for him.

I put a lot of women through hell. I still have a hard time loving and also I have abandonment issues (insecurity). It is hard for me to work for the love of an intimate relationship. Its like your never motivated for the feeling of love from a woman in a relationship.
that's what I noticed in some people with similar situations.

My advise is not to deal with this type of person until they fix themselves. It will never work.
many women still take the risk anyway. But go through a lot of heartache.

A bag of rice is N8,000.

N100,000 per cow, you are having a laugh cheesy That would not even buy you the tail cheesy grin cheesy[/quote]my own price is 30% of the total grin I give discounts grin

but seriously, the average cow is N100,000, I think. Fairly meaty one is N150,000 and above.

N200,000 is too much to pay for a cow unless its a prize bull you want to use to improve your other stock cheesy

imo- not set in stone oh cheesy

My mom told me the cost of a bag of rice but I've forgotten. Probably around this price you're quoting. But it should feed close to that 150 people, or at least one quarter/half of them.

tkb417:
Tpia
im not talking of a budget of 150. All i wanted to do was give an estimate for a society wedding where all are invited.
Trying to estimate a low keyed one, i assumed taking 40% of my base costs to arrive at what could be suitable for a few people like the OP really want. In essence, just trying to say 450k wont be enuff for what he wants to do. The REG will be the most ideal thingy to do
gotcha. wink
