You dont have a point and could you tell me what i am twisting? I gave you countries where leaving Islam is considered a treason and what i expected you to do is to refute the allegations with facts. In those countries there is no separation of religion from the state. A child born in saudi arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc is automatically a muslim and if the child grows up and decide to switch religion he is going against the state. That action is considered treason and punishable by death. So hw am i twisting.

Go through the quranic verses and the hadith i gave you, you will understand why saudi arabia and the rest made apostasy law. You dont need to deny the obvios. If you are a muslim living in Lagos, Nigeria you dont have problem converting to christianity, but it is suicidal for a muslim living in saudi arabia to do same.

Aside from changing religion, it a death penalty if i should 'insult' mohammed (even if he did what i insulted him for) in a muslim country.

@ RoyPcain, you seem to be running a damage control or image laundry services for Islam. I am not against the killing of apostate if that is what your religion stipulates, but you will only do a disservice to Islam if you attempt to misinterprete the quran in order to make Islam look attractive or feel cool to non-muslims.

True, a verse in the quran says 'there is no compulsion in religion' quran 2:256, but many other verses (and hadith) justify killing apostates.

If you want to practice a religion, then you have to believe all its tenets without any attempt to cusmetize it to make it appear the way it isn't, especially in this digital age when all man can have access to quran and hadith in the confort of his home right in his laptop and can equally get cross-reference from the internet (and most importantly in english language).

i personally know many arabic scholars and none of them have complained about my Islam. i have spoken to arabs, today and i will still do so after jumu'ah prayers. so, Islam is not by ethnicity. Muhammad [SA] came for the arabs and non arabs which is why he is the prophet for all [Al Ajami].

none of these countries truly practice sharia and there are blacks who can school arabs when it comes to Islam. hope you know there is a nigerian block teaching in University of Madina?

So who is wrong? Core Islamic countries that treat apostasy as a treason or liberal Islamic countries that do not care much about apostasy.

By social behavior, u will agree with me, the yorubas and the hausas are different, which also go a long way in defining their reactions to some emotionally sensitive issues. Virtually all yorubas have muslims and christians evenly represented in their families, so a yorubaman that chooses to leave christianity for Islam (or vice versa) is never view a big deal. But thats not the case for hausas\fulanis\arabs whose population are predominantly muslims and who (unlike the yorubas), follow the quran and varios reliable hadith to the latter.

The following quranic verses are usually quoted for the justification of killing apostates: quran 4:89, quran 9:11-12, Quran 9:66 and some other verses.
The following are hadith that justify the practice:Bukhari 52:260, 83:37, 84:57, 89:271 and some other verses.

So i can tell you that your argument runs contrary to what is applicable in muslim countries where Islam is the state or official religion.

If you are a yoruba muslim i do not expect you to believe or accept this weird practice cos it is strange to yoruba culture but not strange to the arabs, the custodian of islamic culture and religion. Note that these countries i mentiond practice sharia law to the extreme (their ullamahs understand the quran\hadith than you).

I enjoy this debate. I can see some people trying to deny the killing of apostates in muslim countries, but this is a normal occurence. It is a treasonable offense to leave islam in most islamic countries.

Radical muslims will justify and accept the fact, moderate muslims (who see it naturally wrong) will try to deny the practice.

It is a gradual process, Igbos shall claim evry inch of their lands with their brothers.

The case of PH and Ilorin are different. The north specifically told the yorubas that in the event of Nigeira break-up, kwara\ilorin will be part and parcel of northern territory. In the event of Nigeria break up, you and i knw that PH will be part of Igboland irrespective the present condition of PH.

Accept this facts and work out a way of liberating ur kinsmen from the fulanis instead of you consoling yourself by bringing up PH issue here.

Coming back to Nigeria, u will agree with me that uthman dan fodio spread Islam in the north via war and lootin of the hausas, to establish the Islamic caliphate there. And currently they wanna replicate same style in plataeu and benue state but its too late, the world has moved beyond that.

From the tuareg in mali, futan jalon in sudan to sokoto in Nigeria, Islam was established via warfare, killing and lootin of local community to establish Islamic supremacy. Read ur history book my guy\lady and stop writting in ignorance.

Muslims are only peaceful where they are minority but are wolf where they are majority (always oppressing and hunting down the minority in their midst). Northern Nigeria is a close and perfect example.

In Islam a man of 60yrs can marry a girl of 10 (ur prophet mohammed is a perfect example and the recent child marriage bill sponsored by Nigeria northern muslim senators is also a comtemporary example). U can see the reason why senator yerima of zamfara state married a 14 yr old egyptian girl (when he was 50+) and divorce that same girl 3 yr later (this yr) to marry another 15 yr old girl. Dont tell that yerima is not a true muslim cos he is following quranic teachings and the foot-step of ur prophet.

Recently in saudi arabia a blogger, Badawwi, was sentence to death for leaving Islam and preaching against it in his blog. He was charged for treason and condemned to death. My question is this, where is religios freedom? Where is 'there is no compulsion in religion' as being taught by some muslim clerics? And u knw that a woman cannot drive car in saudi arabia but can go to war. Is this not part of oppression against women?

Nigeria political 'industry' is very complex to say the least. Both Kogi and kwara state will forever be a bargaining chip for the fulani against the yorubas in the Nigerian poilical equation and business. In the event of disintegration, the yorubas will surely lose their kith and kin in kogi and kwara to the fulanis, thats fact.

So the best the yoruba can do is to support the Nigeria project (one Nigeria) so that their pple in those two states will not be alienated from their ancestral home, and this is what the yoruba leaders and policy makers have come to understand.

The genesis of this identity crisis lies on the average yoruba belief in treachery as a way of gaining undue advantage over someone, especially when it comes to politics. As we all knw, historically kwara\ilorin belongs to the yorubas, but treachery and war led to the importation of fulani mercineries to fight and the fulanis saw that as a perfect opportunity to continue their expansion towards the south hence the seizure of ilorin\kwara from the yorubas till date and the enthronment of an emirate on a yoruba soil.

It is either the yorubas accept the status quo (which they cant challenge cos they are naturally cowards) or reject it by calling for a possible referendum so that their pple can fully identify with their core yoruba brother in the south west. They can equally shift alliance to their southern brothers in the south east or south south for possible military confrontation in the event of trying to alter the status quo.

Nothing is certain in life, fortune favours the brave.

All these are in your quran and hadith.
You guys will always lie that 'there is no compulsion in religion' and yet you made it a capital and a treasonable offence for anyone to leave Islam, especially in muslim countries. That is hypocrisy. No religios freedom in Muslim countries and u guys will come to the west to preach religios freedom and to seek converts.

We christians have our differences and complexities but u will never here that any xtain kill his fellow xtain cos of divergent religios view, but the shiaa muslims are bombed daily in their mosque by holding a difernt view from the sunni muslims. The saudi wahabi muslims, ally to Israel whom most arab nation hate, are enemies to sunni muslims of Iran (the dont see eye to eye). Recently two Nigeria-born british citizens (both claim Muslims) were charged for murdering a british man in the name of Allah.
The topic of discussion alone is damage control measure aimed at tarnishing the image of christianity in order discourage propective muslim who intends abandoning Islam. That is to say the op believes Islam is under threat.

So guy get informed, Islam has so many problems and are always problems to their host communities worldwide. Many govt worldwide (eg china, Burma, angola, UK, US etc) hav come to realize this and are taking measures to curb Islamic menance.
