Roliks09:This is a position that I FULLY support No more civility anywhere even in the religion section I have said it that with the temperament on display here some people would do worse than Sani Kaita We can always get our points across without rancour It is virtually impossible for you to get somebody you have caused a fool to agree with you |
People say we are impatient with Lagerback But Sweden was patient with him - what happened? He was not able to get Sweden a world cup ticket Greece, the one we look down on and had never scored a goal until now, got a ticket Please note that we have played both countries before now and we would prefer Greece to Sweden This man signed a 5month contract! Is it wrong to ask him to go after the 5 months |
egin:How are the Nigerians proving that they are designed for independent thought? And what have the benefits been? The North Koreans have built nuclear weapons, submarines and launched missiles even in the throes of sanctions! I want to be designed NOT to be able to think of my own! |
otokx:There is a point here When Churchill took over as PM of England during the war, he said he could only promise toil, blood and sweat Largerback said our best players were not even playing in the Eagles - so who has he brought in? We were not consulted before he was brought in, so at the time he was making these promises, he had been apppointed So why raise our hopes There is no excuse that he is being given now that he did not have when he signed up for the job and made promises However, I don't really care much if we lose by 10 - 0 to all teams Soccer is not our problem; we should be looking for practical solutions to our problems Illiteracy, corruption, unpaptriotic leader etc It is not enough to vent here I don't have the answers, but I bet some sharp guys do |
larimo: Builder: Ranoscky:We are free with insults even when we have time to ponder our response before clicking "reply" So why have we been abusing Kaita who reacted angrily in the heat of the moment to what he perceived to be an unfair action? |
Ranoscky:I did not write those things. Everything is in quote. They are the words of a BBC correspondent Sorry I did not put the link. I have now. |
This is an opinion on this matter http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/paulfletcher/2010/06/moment_of_madness_costs_nigeri.html#223919 "But if his appointment was based on his coaching experience with his native Sweden at the 2002 and 2006 finals, then I don't think his decision making on Wednesday vindicated the decision. Rehhagel, who presided over Greece's remarkable Euro 2004 triumph, changed his side's entire strategy four minutes after Kaita was dismissed by taking off a defender and bringing on a forward. Lagerback waited until the break to make a change, replacing Odemwingie with Chinedu Obasi and sending his team out for the second-half with Yakubu as the lone striker and two banks of four behind him. By that time, however, the damage had been done. The momentum of the match had changed irreversibly and a Greek side that appeared to be slipping out of the tournament were reinvigorated - as well as on level terms. I also think that Lagerback made a mistake in playing Yakubu for the entire 90 minutes. Surely as the match wore on the striker should have been replaced by the fresh legs of the pacey Martins? "Every four years there is a World Cup and qualifying from the group is decided in just three games," mused Lagerback, who knew the structure of the competition and indeed the composition of Nigeria's group before he accepted the job." |
ime2010:Since you have invited us to reason, then we should look at human development UN publishes the human development report, not economic indicators report So what was cruide oil price and revenue when Obj became president? How much was the oil revenue when he left Put differently, in the NEEDS doc, we were told that Nig made $300b from crude oil btw 1970 and 200 That is $10b per annum on the average On the average btwn 1999 and 2007, Obasanjo made more than this In addition, he cashed in on the savings of his predecessors That is the implication of privarisation You sell what past lleaders saved (when they invested in real assets - eg AP) and put the proceeds in your account and flaunt it as foreign reserves Finally, since income inequality (as measured by gini coefficient) is high we know the economic indicators even if they are good did not impact human development indicators noticeably |
~Bluetooth:Democracy is not a RELIGION? You think all the chinese are unhappy? A lot of them are unhappy with their political system but take great pride in their prosperity and greatness of their country Do we have true democracy in Nigeria? Does your vote count? Are your views taken into consideration in the amending the constitution or passing laws Let me give you an example - I am a Nigerian. Yet I have the email add of ALL US senators It is available on the internet Do you know your senator's phone no, or email add Will he listen to you or if you contact him? When will your legislators listen to you and pass the FOI bill? Incidentally, it was OBj who scuttled the FOI bill after the legislators passed it He delayed returning it till it was too late for them to do anything about it (their term had expired) What did obj do to NLC under oshiomole He would have proscribed it if he was a military ruler? He eventually arm-twisted the national assembly to emasculate it! he now asked Nigerians to appeal to the NASS to pass some important reform bills Why did he not arm twist them to pass those bills Have you heard of Ita Oko? - the first concentration camp in Nigeria - that was the brainchild of Obasanjo Do you remember that Obj was enginnering impeachments in the dead of the night (as a civilian president)? At the Niger Delata conference he hosted, he threatened to WALK OUT A GOVERNOR Imagine if he were a military ruler When he went to the cantonment after the bomb blast and people complained, he said he did not need to be there Would a kind president say that? (Is that not ruthless?) Did you think he would have said that in Darfur? Obasanjo approved of garrison politics, supported Adedibu and pioneered do-or-die politics All of these a civilian People keep saying Buhari was ruthless I have no problem with somebody who is ruthless with criminals Are criminals some loving and caring group? Singapore (we admire it) shoots drug pushers till today we honour crimanls in Nigeria Corruption is our No 1 problem - that is the foundation of our insincerity A sincere Nigerian leader is daily provided quality opinion and advice free of charge (we are talkatives) that he only need to execute Look at them NEEDS, SEEDS, vision 2010, MDG, Vision 20 2020 A sincere and incorrupt leader would have made something of them Would you like these people to be cuddled or dealt with ruthlessly http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=174029 (N15.1bn Jumbo Pay Tears House Apart) How many probes have been announced in Nigeria? How many have resulted into stiff jaill terms that will frighten future offenders? Why do you think Nigerians clamour for the "rawlings treatment"? Nigeria is also easy to rule Just make Mounrinho or Ferguson national coach and let eagles get to quarter final, that president is made Let him give us electricity, we forget the cost Let him give us the most expensive telephone service, we adore him BTW do you remember Pentascope? closure of our border following attack on Iyabo? The appeal to Dikibo's widow to leave the matter of his assasination for God? When the judge handling Ige's murder trial resigned because he was facing pressure from unexpected quarter and Obj govt did nothing? One can go on! |
NSNA:Exactly the reason why he is NOT PATRIOTIC which country gives away its land for free? he gave away Bakassi and the international community loves that act of foolishness what is Britain looking for thousands of miles away in the Falklands? And America in the Pacific? Do you think the internatiopnal community love US and UK less Your countrymen, not international community, should respect you How much does international community contribute to our GDP? |
mikeansy:We have been through this before It was not really for nothing that Ojukwu said the man should be put away But look at his allusion to violence This is from somebody who has ruled this country for 11.5 years! Do-or-die affair politician Avid supporter of Adedibu exponent of garrison politics We can go on In his hypocrisy, he said that Nigerian politicians would dispute any election no matter who conducts it Why would I not contest daylight robbery? He went to the same Ondo state on 2007 to camapign for the drunkard - Agagu He said then that he asked Mimiko to support Agagu and that Mimiko refused He added that Mimiko stole money before leaving government and added that EFCC would soon go after him he event went ahead to abuse Mimiko's parent All these are documented EFCC said after that they had nothing on Mimiko Mimiko popularity actually grew after that |
These Malawians sure know their minds People who like family values should support them http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100520/ap_on_re_af/af_malawi_gay_trial Gay couple sentenced to maximum 14 years in Malawi By RAPHAEL TENTHANI, Associated Press Writer Raphael Tenthani, Associated Press Writer Thu May 20, 9:12 am ET BLANTYRE, Malawi – A judge sentenced a couple to the maximum 14 years in prison with hard labor under Malawi's anti-gay legislation, and crowds jeered the two men as they were driven from the court house to jail Thursday. The harsh sentence for unnatural acts and gross indecency had been expected after the same judge convicted Tiwonge Chimbalanga and Steven Monjeza earlier this week under laws dating from the colonial era. The case has drawn international condemnation and sparked a debate on human rights in this conservative southern African country. Chimbalanga, a 20-year-old hotel janitor, and his unemployed partner were arrested Dec. 27, the day after they celebrated their engagement with a party at the hotel where Chimbalanga worked — an apparent first in Malawi. "Maximum sentences are intended for use for worst cases," Magistrate Nyakwawa Usiwa Usiwa said as he delivered his sentence. "We are sitting here to represent the Malawi society which I do not believe is ready at this point in time to see its sons getting married to other sons or conducting engagement ceremonies." The lawyer for the two, Mauya Msuku, said they would appeal. Chimbalanga remained composed as armed police officers handcuffed him to Monjeza. "I am not worried," he told reporters as they were taken to a police vehicle. Monjeza broke down upon hearing the ruling and was still sobbing as he was helped into the van. Hundreds of onlookers inside and outside the court house showed little sympathy. There were shouts of "You got what you deserve!" and "Fourteen years is not enough, they should get 50!" Michelle Kagari, deputy Africa director of Amnesty International called the sentence "an outrage." Her rights watchdog has adopted Chimbalanga and Monjeza as prisoners of conscience, and would "continue to campaign on this matter and to work tirelessly to see that they are released unconditionally as soon as possible," Kagari told The Associated Press by telephone from her office in Kampala, Uganda. Mark Heywood, director of the South Africa-based AIDS Law Project called the sentence "outrageous and a violation of human rights." He said activists should hold protests around the world against Malawi. In a joint statement issued in London Thursday, lawmakers Henry Bellingham, Stephen O'Brien and Lynne Featherstone urged Malawi government to review its laws to ensure human rights were protected. They said their country "believes that human rights apply to everyone regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity," and would, with its international partners, "continue to press the Government of Malawi on this issue." In Washington, Philip Crowley, an assistant secretary of state, expressed his country's deep disappointment with the conviction of Chimbalanga and Monjeza. "We view the criminalization of sexual orientation and gender identity as a step backward in the protection of human rights in Malawi," Crowley said. Malawi's government has been defiant in the face of international criticism over the couple's prosecution. Betsy Chirambo, an adviser to President Bingu wa Mutharika, expressed concern over calls by some activists for the West to withdraw aid to Malawi because of the case. Up to 40 percent of Malawi's development budget comes from foreign donors. "It is not our culture for a man to marry a man," Chirambo said this week. "That is not even in our constitution. Some of these rights are not good for our culture." The government has been backed by religious leaders in the country who have equated homosexuality with Satanism. But the debate also has emboldened some rights activists in the southern African country. The independent Centre for the Development of People was recently formed by Malawians to fight for the rights of homosexuals and other minorities. Gift Trapence, executive director of the Centre for the Development of People, was at the court house Thursday and told reporters: "How can they get 14 years simply for loving one another? Even if they are jailed for 20 years you can't change their sexuality." Gay people forced underground in Africa are unlikely to seek counseling and treatment for AIDS, activists say. In Malawi, nearly 1 million people — an estimated 12 percent of the population — are living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. Homosexuality is illegal in at least 37 countries in Africa including Malawi. In Uganda, lawmakers are considering a bill under which homosexuals could be sentenced to life in prison and "repeat offenders" could be executed. Even in South Africa, the only African country that recognizes gay rights, gangs have raped lesbians. |

Okukwu recommended the appropriate treatment for this enemy of progress We ignored him He does not believe in performance Only win more states under PDP Are Nigerians happy? irrelevant! http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=173931 From James Sowole in Akure, 05.23.2010 Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday said the major task ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2011 general elections was to consolidate on the states held by the opposition in 2007. Also, the party’s National Vice Chairman, South West, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipupo said more heads would roll in the on-going restructuring of the party’s leadership. Obasanjo said the party was prepared to confront any opposition that is planning to unleash violence to scare voters during the next general elections. Obasanjo, who spoke at the grand reception rally organised by the PDP in Ondo State to welcome Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim and others into its fold, said the party would be repositioned before the 2011 general elections in order to reclaim the states it lost to the opposition parties. The former president, specifically expressed shock that the PDP loss of control of Ondo State to the Labour Party and urged members of the party to be united and work as a team to dislodge the opposition in future elections. He said, “there is a big task ahead of the party in 2011, we must all work together to make sure that PDP remains a formidable party in Nigeria. Our doors are open for those who have defected to other political parties. “I personally did not expect what happened in Ondo State but we have put the issue behind us. What we are doing today is not a rally alone but to welcome new members to our party,” he said. He tasked aspirants jostling for different positions in the party to shun any act that could lead to unnecessary division. He said in every contest, a winner must emerge. “All aspirants who want to represent our party in the next election must be ready to work together as a team; we don’t want violence to reign supreme. We are not going to promote violence but we are ready to confront any party that is planning to unleash violence”. He called on PDP members in Ondo state to work assiduously to regain the number one slot in the state, adding that the only way this could be achieved is when they work together as a team “You should not wait for the 2013 governorship election in the state but all hands must be on deck to win all the elective positions in the 2011 election,” Obasanjo said. Earlier in his speech Oladipupo, who noted that PDP was determined to restructure said the cleansing would be extended to states, local governments and national levels of the executives According to him, every member of the party should be able to make sacrifice. He lauded the maturity displayed by the former National Chairman of the party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor who resigned to clear himself of allegation of financial misappropriation. “The decision of our National Chairman, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor to resign when he was still being probed is a laudable development which has further boosted the image of the party among Nigerians. Though, he has not been found guilty, he demonstrated a good quality of a leader. “There is the need for all leaders of the party to make sacrifice in order to reposition the party in the eyes of the general public. We also appeal to our aggrieved leaders to bury their hatchets and work for the success of the party”. Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu said the rally marked the tuning point of recovering the party’s stolen mandate in the state. He accused the present government in the state of deliberately abandoning the projects the PDP administration started. |
Wily+Wily:This comment is not useful! Wily+Wily: Wily+Wily:So which people should I make friends with? |
This is the story in ThisDay http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=173925 3 Fulani Herdsmen Killed in Jos Crisis From Seriki Adinoyi in Jos, 05.23.2010 Three days after the curfew imposed on Jos city, since the beginning of the crisis, was lifted following the return of relative peace in the city, three Fulani herdsmen were yesterday murdered, roasted and buried in a shallow grave in Tusung Village near Kassa, in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, by people suspected to be Berom youths. Briefing newsmen at the Nigerian Air Force Hospital mortuary, Jos, where the bodies were deposited, the Director of Operations of the Military Special Task Force (STF), Colonel Kayode Ogundele, said though no arrest has been made, but his men who discovered the bodies are on the trail of the assailants. He assured that they would be tracked down. Meanwhile, the state police command has commenced a process for the re-trial of suspects of the Jos crises in the state capital as required by the Constitution of the Federal Republic on Nigeria. This was made known yesterday in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Lerama, on behalf of the state Police Commissioner, Ikechukwu Aduba. Lerama said in the statement that, “The Plateau State Police Command wishes to state that the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and the Federal Directorate of Public Prosecution (FDPP) Abuja held a pre-trial meeting at the Police Headquarters Jos on May 20 with the officers and personnel of the state CID Jos as well as the private legal practitioners employed by the Federal Ministry of Justice to prosecute the offenders involved in the Jos crises. “The reason for this meeting is for the stakeholders to harmonise all aspects of investigations conducted in the cases for a successful prosecution” |
honeric01:Really! Why should we suddenly become critical of newspaper reports Did we not abuse the illiterates in the North, Turai and Yaradua based on the most unbelievable stories in the press? Why should we rapidly recover from that hangover? |
frosbel:Sorry, Sir: which Ishaq are you quoting? From the Bible - so let us not confuse liberal movement with christainity or christian values "Say to the Israelites, 'If a man dies and leaves no son, turn his inheritance over to his daughter, '" Numbers 27:8 let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law, and if they will learn anything, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for woman to speak in the church." 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 "When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening. anything she lies on during her period will be unclean, and anything she sits on will be unclean. Whoever touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whoever touches anything she sits on must wash his clothes and bathe with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Whether it is the bed or anything she was sitting on, when anyone touches it, he will be unclean till evening." Leviticus 15:19-23 "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24) "Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14) "For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (I Corinthians 11:8-9) "Give me any plague, but the plague of the heart: and any wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman." (Eccles. 25:13) "A shameless woman shall be counted as a dog; but she that is shamefaced will fear the Lord." (Eccles.26:25) "Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die." (Eccles. 25:22) |
frosbel:Did you ever send anything to anybody about intolerant christainity? Do you remember that when Muslims were rounded up in Jos in January, murdered and dumped in wells, it was greeted with silence? Who did the estimation of 60million? Please provide proof for these "elegant statistics" and they said all these are in Muslim countries? The age of consent (not marriage ie age of fornication) in the vatican is 12 and in Spain is 13 Are these included or they are exempt because christians, being non-sinners, must be judged by a different standard So every time a 13 year old becomes a father in the UK, we blame Islam? I am really worried that in your unbriddled quest to condemn Islam, you are descending into dangerous zealotry where anything goes Really, how do you explain your jumping from a "wild" worldwide estimate of child brides to a problem of Islam? If you would care to think about it, in any society (Islamic or not) where people are illiterates, people marry early |
frosbel:Proof please! I know that any negative thing said about Islam by anybody becomes FACT and DOCUMENTED in your own literary classification It is interesting that something that is not palatable to christianity is "heretical" Were it said about Islam, it becomes mainstream to you Seriously, do you think if Jesus Christ (may the blessing of Allah be on him) were to be able to comment, would really approve of your standard? |
becomrich7:Becomrich7 You have not answered my questions about Yorubas being cheated and deceived |
Kobojunkie:Happy new year! I was to get back to you for a contact address. I apologise for my AWOL. May I still have the Solar person's contact details |
becomrich7:In what ways have the Yorubas been cheated? And how has the PDP been deceiving the Yorubas? |
Tayo-D:You are the one that will prove to me that being a muslim allows him to carry out mass killings Until then your assertion cannot stand Muslims are allowed to fight. But they must obey rules in the process You CAN never bring evidence of muslims who truly believe that killing innocents or committing suicide is right! Tayo-D:Irrelevancies indeed! So why should the action of al Qaida or this guy bear any imlications on my faith? How should a christian be like? Using the example of Jesus Christ (may the blessings of Allah be upon Him), Paul and the early disciples will not work None of the people you mentioned ever ruled over a country They were not attacked as a group by an army Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon Him) never fought a war until he came to Madina He was heckled in Makkah, but he did not fight and had to flee top Madina It was in Madina that he and his group were besieged by an army And he was required to fight, but with restraint Of course, you are entitled to stand by your assertion just as I stand by my assertion that christianity is peace loving in theory only The peace preached in the Bilble is impracticable - when a christian or a country of christians is attacked, how does he or it respond? I have never seen a christian country just surrender to a foreign army without battle the weakness of the Bible is that it does not give guidance on how to fight battles The Bible gives account of how ferocious christians could be when they fight What is the purpose of these accounts? So christian countries have vast arsenals of weapons of mass destruction And one has used it before So I should just believe that they want to lead their lives like Peter and Jesus Christ? Even if that is the intention, I have never heard you object to your country or any christian country having weapons for figthing wars Of course, you wouldn't - you benefit from the protection those weapons offer At least the Christian right in America is even more war-loving than the democrats Isn't that an irony when you are saying christians are peace loving So let us know that this your idea of no war is a myth Men (Muslims, Christians etc) will fight wars - Obama said something similar even while collecting the nobel prize for peace Wars need rules - Islam provide rules; Bible offers no guidance So all is fair in a christian war Tayo-D:You can take liberties that are not available to me A jew can abuse Jesus Christ (may the blessing of Allah be upon him); but you cannot abuse Moses So you can call Muhammed names (PBUH), I cannot and dare not attack Jesus Christ However, if you studied Islamic history, you would notice that Muhammed (PBUH) traded with jews This is a fact known to christians worldwide - maybe the information is not shared with Nigerian christians We also know that 2 John : 10 forbids you from having anything to do with people who qualify as "infidels" However, on the issue of Paedophilia? who is an under aged girl? A girl of 16? 14, 13? The age has been rising over time - so it is easy for you to easily use today's standard against a man who lived over 1,400 years ago It was legal to marry a 10-year old girl in England in the past So maybe those who lived in England then should be accused of padeophilia And by the way, the age is 12 in the Vatican and 13 in Spain TODAY Of course, Jesus Christ (may the blessing of Allah be upon him) never married So we cannot draw any guidance on his stand on the matter and polygamy Summary - Islam does not tolerate killing of innocents, women and children There are renegade muslims who go beyond bounds just like you are now telling me that there are renegade popes But christians have been fighting based on man-made laws |
illusion2:Reasoning backwards! Actually, the accusation lies with you READ POSTS before posting - that is not too much to ask So a Pakistani tries to bomb a place in NY and people condemn him - good, no problem with that! he deserves that for his intended massacre So when somebody now says no, he is just being a muslim So we need to ponder what is it about being a muslim at heart, is the heart of a christian different? So I point that out, and your superior reasoning still faults that Incidentally, I was just being nice - we have local examples of religious intolerance by christians Sincerely, I am not feeling good about christian examples I went to a christian school and bought a bible to be able to pass BK exam I work with christians - they provide me enough proof daily of the gulf between their PR and reality As regards, muslims killing infidels, although you misunderstand the Quran, but Let me also quote for you from the Bible: You used 9 : 5 from the Quran Let us look at Ezekiel 9 : 6 Slay outright the elderly, the young man and the virgin, the infant and the women So? |
favouredjb:It would have been useful if you read the previous posts before you added yours Somebody says the bomber is not just a Pakistani, but a muslim at heart; and so commenced the assault on Islam And it continued; no christian called them to order But when I pointed out that christians have their issues You suddenly notice that it is not christian/muslim debate incidentally your advice that this is not a debate between christianity and Islam came after you falsely accused me of supporting him Go BACK AND READ MY POSTS You also want me to admit that my brothers are terrorists, carrying out barbaric acts Implied in your statement is the assertion that christians never do such condemnable deeds To start with, I did not and can never support him because Islam never sanctions such acts BTW, why can we not just respond to what somebody says rather than what we are praying he would say so that we can "nail" him Nobody says that Reverend King's action is sanctioned by the bible, but it did happen were he a muslim, the case would easily, through some sophistry, be attempted that yes, that is what Islam stands for By the way, do christians ever admitt that their brethrens are terrorists? No You are even a proof of that- you said that the St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre "supposedly" happened Really? So we need to rewrite European Christian history from Nigeria to win an argument! It did not supposedly happen. It actually happened, whether or not anyone is happy with it And I can tell you more of such incidents and you will need to spend several lifetimes destroying documents to rewrite the entire history So why won't you too recognise documented history of your people's terrorists, animalistic and barbariuc behaviours? Bye line Muslims have condemned muslims terrorists more than christians have condemned their renegades |
Tayo-D:Yes he is a muslim, although misguided But you are a christian at heart and your post is in line with the August 1572 St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre in France When French soldiers and the Roman Catholic clergy massacred the Huguenots (French Calvinist Protestants) The Vatican celebrated this massacre! Bells were rung, canons were fired A special commemorative medal was struck—to honor the occasion! The Pope commissioned Italian artist Vasari to paint a mural of the Massacre—which still hangs in the Vatican till today! Pope Gregory XIII said the massacre gave him more pleasure than 50 Battles of Lepanto Remember that the supposedly peace-loving papacy was also involved in the Battle of Lepanto Stop trying to hoodwink us with this "christainity-is-love" falsehood |
Akosbaba:The guy is not an Arab! Ignorance is unhealthy And I reckon that your post applies to christian Arabs? |
pmond:And what about true christians! William Tyndale (1494-1536) was the first person to translate considerable parts of the Bible from Greek and Hebrew texts into English He did this to make it accessible to the general public Both the Catholic church and the Church of England frowned at this challenge on their authority Tyndale was arrested and jailed He was tried for heresy, strangled and burnt at the stake. And we know from christian history that heresy is not forgiven with the church praying for the "sinner" rather, it is punished by being burnt at the stake So please post based on true christian practice, and not some sanitised version that only applies on the internet Anyway a true muslim knows that killing innocent people is a grievious sin |
jumie:I don't know if he would or would not And what other reasons do you have to despise him? By the way, I would give my 13-year old daughter to a serious man rather than allow boys of nowadays to just continue to "test-drive" her! |
Onlytruth:If we followed your advice, Okonjo Iweala, Kofi Anan, Aganga would not have been allowed to hold their international positions No black man would ever work in NASA, World Bank, WHO etc Why? The manpower is simply not there in Africa. Even if you find one of such talent, you find about 50 in the western countries (I have just replaced South with Western countries and North with Africa from your post) How many blacks have won the nobel prize in Economics and Sciences? We should be wary of seductive ariguments that can backfire badly And your post will make the South play God I actually believe that the average northerner has the same ability as the southerner But he lacks the opportunity afforded by the culture of the south By the way, Soludo did plenty wrong The most significant was allowing regulatory capture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regulatory_capture |
Siena:Leave Islam out of it! The age of consent in the Vatican is 12 and in Spain, it is 13 So tell your Catholic friends to explain that and the non-terrorist bomb blast in Yenagoa yesterday |
